The restaurant is located in Paragon Town Center, so there are plenty of parking spots. They just opened, so the system is still incomplete. There's some confusion in how the restaurant operates. It feels like a mix between a restaurant and a coffee shop, with loud club music playing inside. The menu offers the variety you'd expect from a restaurant, but there's no formal seating system. Guests walk in and choose their own seats, like in a coffee shop. There's also a cashier counter with a screen displaying a limited menu, mainly banh mi sandwiches, drinks, and a few snacks. However, there's also a full paper menu with a wide range of dishes. Some customers sit down and are handed the full menu by staff, while others go straight to the cashier to order, only to discover there's more to the menu than what's shown on the screen. It took us a while to read through everything before placing our order at the counter. I believe the interior was inherited from the previous business, a bakery coffee shop, which may explain the somewhat confusing setup. The music inside is mostly dance music and very loud, which doesn't suit a dining atmosphere. The food was a mixed experience. We ordered grilled pork banh mi sandwiches, a shellfish dish, and a salad. To my surprise, the grilled pork banh mi was cold, not room temperature, but cold. They apologized and reheated it, but while the bread warmed up, the pork inside remained cold. At that point, we didn't want to complain again, so my friend just ate it. We had: - 2 grilled pork banh mi sandwiches: both were cold. The grilled pork appeared to have been taken straight from the fridge without being properly reheated. - Steamed clams with lemongrass and basil: flavorful, but the clams were extremely tiny. - Sweet snails with salted egg sauce: tasty, just wished there was more sauce. - Boneless chicken feet with soaked lemongrass and kumquat salad: this was also good. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, everything from operations to atmosphere felt a bit disorganized. However, I did enjoy some of the dishes and might come back during the day to see if the music is less loud and to try more items from the menu.

    Saigon fried rice

Okay, never been to Vietnam before but I assume it's similar to this but a bit hotter and more flies haha. remixed hip hop was blasting at a volume I really couldn't hear my waiter, who was so very attentive and sweet. My kids and parents were able to tolerate the setting but I would've preferred the music toned down a bit. I liked it cause my one child (2 years old) was doing a science experiment at her seat and no one bat an eye lol Came for the $1 oysters and left with a full belly from all the goodies and a great experience out with kids! They have high chairs and room for littles to wander a bit. We ordered a Saigon special fried rice, shaken beef with fries, grilled wild boar, 4 dozen oysters, and 1 order of garlic butter escargot. The oysters were well shucked and done quick enough that each oyster was still plump and juicy. Horseradish, lemons, and cocktail sauce provided. The escargot was flavorful but portion a bit small than expected. I've never had wild boar before but it was tasty. The sauce and other accoutrements for this dish really complimented it well. The filet for skin beef was very tender and perfected cooked. My favorite was the fried rice, someone reviewed it as being overcooked and undercooked but they probably have never had wok fried rice before. It was perfectly crispy and soft. All ingredients carefully cut up to fit a bite size but leaving a great taste and lasting impression. Overall, it was very good and the oyster price was very enticing. My bill was a about $160, tip included Check it out during Tuesday or Friday for the oyster deal! All beers are $2 as well.

    $1 Oysters

I recently visited Saigon District and ordered the Saigon's Fried Rice, Mekong Corn Delight, and a dozen $1 oysters. The experience was a mix of hits and misses, with room for improvement in both food and service. Fried Rice: The fried rice was just okay. Unfortunately, the rice was overcooked and too firm, to the point where it stuck in my teeth -- not the kind of texture you expect from a wok-fried dish. The flavor wasn't memorable enough to make up for the off texture. Mekong Corn Delight: True to its name, it was definitely sticky -- perhaps too much so. The sweetness was there, but again, the texture wasn't pleasant. The corn clung to my teeth in a way that distracted from the dish overall. Oysters: The oysters were the highlight and, honestly, the only thing I'd return for. Some were fresh and plump, while others were disappointingly small or practically empty (circled in red in the photo for reference). A bit inconsistent, but still a good deal at $1 apiece. What soured the oyster experience was the wait. I had to ask where they were after a long delay, only to be told, "Oh sorry, our kitchen is backed up right now with oysters." Then, another 10 minutes later, the server came by again to say, "They should be out in 10 minutes." It ended up being about a 25-minute wait total with no heads-up until I asked. Cleanliness & Ambiance: The restroom was not well maintained. There was hand soap spilled all over the sink area and the trash bin clearly needed to be emptied. It left a poor impression of the restaurant's attention to cleanliness. As for the décor, the restaurant had a mix of white folding chairs and tan dining chairs -- possibly an attempt to channel the street-side feel of Vietnam. But instead of charm, it felt more mismatched and out of place against the rest of the setup. The music was way too loud -- to the point where my table and I had to yell just to hear each other. It killed the vibe for what could've been a more relaxed, social meal. A lower volume would've gone a long way in making the space feel more comfortable.

    Fried tofu

-shaken beef was overcooked and surprisingly so was the rice -snails were probably the only thing I liked -wings were very average but not terrible - tofu came in a very small portion and not crispy enough - tried their $1 oysters that they have Tuesday/fridays but they were stacked on top of each other when the shell is sooo dirty and the oysters are SO small. Definitely need to arrange those differently alsoooo they weren't even shucked - server was nice but he didn't seem like he knew much of the menu and could barely recommend stuff

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Overall, the place is cute and the vibes are nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I'd only come back for those mushrooms they were that good.

I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol

Pour that on with the butter, now that's a good thought. They need something to make it stand out. I tried the shrimp and grits. First thing first, don't get this dish if you're really hungry. They bring it out in a really big bowl and it's just a little bit.. the chicken sausage is cut up whole like chopped hotdogs. It really looks lazy and unappealing. The flavor wasn't bad, not great, but not nasty. Nothing special at all. Now for the restaurant itself (decor), I liked it. I think it's a great setting for lunch indoors or outdoors. I'd try them again for dinner to see if it's better, but going back for brunch, not likely.

When we entered, there was no cover charge. The front area seemed to be dining only, so we walked to the back bar for drinks and hookah. The drink and hookah menu had no prices; two drinks in plastic cups and a hookah was $92, which included automatic gratuity. Hookah was just okay; didn't really taste the flavor. We closed our tab and moved from the bar seating to the lounge seating along the wall. We requested a server for food and waited awhile. The wait time for food was ridiculous for it to come back inedible. The calamari was fried hard, so we sent it back and got a smaller amount with minor improvement. My fries were limp and cold, so didn't eat those either. Despite a mixed crowd, in terms of age, the music was all 90s hip hop and R&B, even older. The DJ played no dance music or anything current. My friend stepped out because she saw other people smoking and it wasn't hookah if you know what I mean...and they attempted to charge her $10 for entrance (I wouldn't pay $1 to get in there). So, later arrival means cover charge. Unh uhn, get somebody else to go!
