Outstanding! We love pho and have been to quite a few restaurants in search of the best. This restaurant has the Best Pho in LA. They have many options but we all had the chicken. Portions are very good sized. They have small, medium, large and extra large. We had regular and couldn't finish it. If you are a big eater you will still be pressed to finish the extra large. We also had the egg rolls. They were very good. Many other people ordered them so popular dish. Prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was very busy. The service was fairly quick though the wait for a table was long. We checked in on Yelp and Yelp gave us a certain time. We hurried in to make the time but when we got there we had to wait another 20 minutes or so. The restaurant is casual with many tables crowded together. We will definitely return to try some of the other dishes. read more

This is our go-to pho spot, and it should be yours too. Getting this out of the way first: this is bar none some of the best pho you will find in the South Bay. I would even go so far as to say that this is some of the best pho you're going to find outside Westminster or Little Saigon. Everything tastes so fresh, the meat is high quality, their rice has a great taste and texture, and the customer service is unparalleled. But it isn't just the food that makes Saigon Dish so special. A good bowl of pho or a nice plate of beef with rice is not the sole cause of what makes this place so beloved by everyone. It's the team that runs it, and the family that owns it, and how much love and care they put into running the show. It is abundantly clear to anyone who's been here more than once that the owner, John, really loves what he's doing and truly cares about the community he feeds. There isn't a day John isn't behind the counter or walking the restaurant greeting guests, he will remember you by name, he will greet you like a friend, he will ask you about your family, and you never leave feeling like you are just a dollar sign to him. Back when my husband and I were dumb kids fresh out of high school, my husband took me here for the first time and we both got high school specials. We weren't dating yet, we didn't have a lot of money, and we were just trying to eat and have a good time--and John, who had already knew my husband by that point, would always greet us and knew exactly what we wanted. When we got back together after a long break from each other, we went to Saigon Dish together and John smiled so big when we walked in, asked where I'd been and why he hadn't seen us together in a long time, and congratulated us warmly when he found out we were getting married--and still remembered our orders, which he joked about after making fun of my husband's overgrown beard. Everyone who walks into this restaurant more than once has a story about John making them feel special. Customers will always say hi to him, whether he's seating them at their table or he's behind the counter and they're just walking by, and he will never not miss an opportunity to show you kindness. It reminds me a bit of Kung Fu Panda, where Po's dad has the most beloved noodle shop in the area, and he tells Po it's because his secret ingredient in his soup is love. That's what makes Saigon Dish so great--John and everyone here has so much love for the restaurant and for the people who come here that you can taste it in the food. We were in the area and decided to come check this place out. I am so glad that we did! Apparently Saigon Dish is usually crowded, but since we came early on a Friday it was actually pretty dead (thank goodness). The restaurant is a good size, very clean, and has a friendly staff all around. Upon entering, you sign in to a sheet and usually wait to be seated- but because it was quiet we just got to sit down right away. The menu has plenty of options but not overwhemingly so where it feels impossible to know what you'll want to order. My girlfriend and I both went for the filet mignon pho which was a bargain! I asked for the size small and she got regular. Bowl size didn't feel like too big of a difference but perhaps I will go for regular next time just to get a few more noodles in. The broth was so good! It had a very good meat flavor but was not overpowered by herbs or other ingredients so I was able to fully enjoy the flavor to its maximum potential. The meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth! Lastly, the noodles: perfect. The noodles weren't soft or mushy, nor were they too tough to chew, they were just perfect. I wanted to like the place, and the food is good (I had pho) but they really messed up my order. I like tendon pho. I have other issues with the various beef options because they end up too tough for me to chew. My issue, I know. So I went in and ordered tendon pho. It isn't on the menu, the tendon, steak and tripe is on the menu, but the guy who took my order said no problem. Well, I grabbed my take-out, when back to my job site and set up to eat, and low and behold, I got a little pack of raw steak, tripe in the bowl, and no tendon. Luckily I have a cast iron stomach and was close enough that the residual heat of the soup was still strong enough to somewhat cook the raw beef. I wasn't happy that I didn't get my tendon (after all it was all I wanted), but it was warm, tasted OK and there was plenty of sprouts, basil, lime and chili. read more

Food here is flavored okay. I don't know I didn't really like the pho. I enjoyed the nem cuon though. Meat was very soft inside the roll compared to other places I've tried. This place, like many Asian restaurants, looks unassuming from the outside but on the inside, this restaurant is bustling. There were people waiting to be seated the entire time I was dining, despite the food coming out fairly quickly. I ordered the brisket pho in the regular size and it was a huge portion. They also offer small and large sizes for those of you feeling less/more hungry. The meat was tender, the broth was flavorful and there were plenty of pho noodles. The only thing I could have asked for more of was more cilantro and onions in the soup, but that's more of a personal preference. The service here is excellent. There is (what feels like) one man who is in charge of the restaurant, instructing tables to be cleared, water to be refilled, taking orders, answering the phone and overall generally just directing traffic. But he was still so personable and helpful that it was clear it was a job made for him. The prices are really reasonable for what you get and the menu has a large variety of Vietnamese food--more than just your standard pho and bun. Definitely stop by the place if you're in the area but be prepared to wait! read more

Honestly, I don't get it. I've been here twice just to be sure. First, a good Pho is supposed to have a clear broth. This one doesn't. To be fair, it is really good, but it's not traditional, outstanding pho. Second, the Bánh Mì has way too much bread and very little meat. The bread isn't exceptional. Nothing to justify all these five stars, if you've been to VietNam. Otherwise, be prepared--the wait is long because of the popularity of this place. First time coming here and first off....they have a HUGE menu! I honestly couldn't choose so I ordered pho ga (chicken soup), the crepes which were HUGE (more than enough for one person). And this noodle dish with grilled pork and shrimp and egg rolls...and yes they are alllllll for me. Oh and I did get the iced Vietnamese coffee. I read a lot of reviews about bad service but most Vietnamese restaurants this is how they're ran, so it's not really anything new and it's not because they don't want to serve you, this is typical in Vietnam. Johnny ,the owner ,is one of the reasons why this place is one of my favorite places in the South Bay. The food is delicious! I was craving banh canh the other day ( Vietnamese udon), along with bun bo hue and pho! And Saigon Dish is actually the only Vietnamese place in the area that serves banh canh. There's two kinds, the brothy kind served with bbq pork and shrimp or the thicker tapioca like consistency made with shrimp and crab. I like the brothy kind. And the pho is solid! So damn pho-king good! I got the pho bo vien (meat balls) - 5/5 Shrimp and pork banh canh - 5/5 Bun bo hue - 3.5/5 (it's not as spicy as I'd like so I had to add my own chili sauce at home) This place is great!
