You know this is a good spot when you walk in and you see all koreans. Brought my MIL here and she absolutely loved it. The jajjangmyun was deliciously paired with their jamppong and tangsuyuk. It wasn't crowded at 6pm on a Thursday, we were greeted immediately, the friendly lady answered all questions we had. The special janjangmyeon was amazing! I can't stop thinking about it. Noodles are chewy, sauce, veggies, pork are so flavorful, fresh and overall plentiful. The regular janjangmyeon was a bit too sweet for me. Crispy sweet and sour pork was so good and paired so well with the janjangmyeon. I liked how the sauce was on the side because I really didn't need the sauce, but was good to have with every so many bites. Delicious, unassuming gem, with wonderfully warm and hospitable service. The noodles were fresh and soft in both the spicy seafood soup and jiang jiang noodles. Flavors were fantastic, and portion sizes were very large and hearty. The dishes are certainly more carb heavy with a smaller amount of protein. Very reasonable and fair prices. Overall there is a somewhat more limited menu without too many standalone protein dishes (I believe there is a fried chicken dish that seems popular that is often paired with the noodles). Excellent quality food. Actually tasted the "fire" in the black bean sauce and the fried rice. We read and also saw in Korean style Chinese cooking that getting the wok to perfect temperature to give off the taste of the flame/smoke without burning any ingredients is difficult. They have combo menu items with noodle and 1/2 serving of Sweet&sour pork or other entree items which is perfect for single or double diners. Noodle was chewy, not over cooked and mushy. We'll be driving to Gardena instead of to slowest. Yum! Gentleman who was taking orders was very nice and attentive. We prefer him over the lady we dealt with on our first visit. I'm gonna be completely honest with my review. The service, amazing, the older gentleman working the front was so kind and attentive. There was barely anyone at the restaurant when I went but tables filled up fast. You can tell this is a beloved spot. The only reason this place got 3 stars is because I don't think I like jjangmyeon which is mainly what they serve here. I just came back from a trip to Korea and regret not trying the jjangmyeon. I was in the area so I thought I'd try this place out. The noodles were hard to grab and eat, the sauce felt too thick and I couldn't understand the flavor profile. Was it sweet? Salty? And all the onions and other items inside sunk to the bottom so you had to keep moving the noodles to get the good stuff which was an arm workout in and of itself. The restaurant expanded in size, it was a welcoming surprise. The lady working there was nice and recommened what was popular there. We tried couple of combo meals. Jjajjangmyun with dumplings and jjampong with tangsooyuk. They serve large portions and we were not able to finish all and we both eat a lot. The jjajjangmyun tasted divine! Lots of onions and meat in the sauce, the noodles were the right consistency, not too soft and not too hard. The jjampong soup was delicious as well. You can choose the spicy level for the soup.
