If you're looking for authentic Việt cuisine, this is not the place. I love the environment, great service, foods definitely above average, just not authentic Vietnamese. The spring rolls looked good, I ordered Buồn Chả Hanoi, what came out were BBQ pork, great, egg rolls (more like Chinese egg rolls) & something else. read more

This spot is very simple yet chic with great food plus GREAT service! The fresh flowers placed on each table shows that small touches can make a BIG difference. Our server Eddie was both knowledgeable with a professional but spunky attitude...which we love! My partner and I were very pleased. Only downside which I can fix later is tofu wasn't cooked firm enough. Left overs will be great though. read more

Very much enjoyed my lunch. Pleasant surprise. Enjoyed pot stickers and chicken/rice combo. Will be back if in the area.

Waited so long for them to take our order that we left ... bad service. No one around us had food ...

First time coming here and the food and service was amazing. I got the Ga Xao Xa Ot and it had the perfect amount of spice that kept me wanting to take another bite. read more

Came here several times for pho cravings, and overall the food is average at best - not particularly amazing. Like many other reviewers have said, the portion sizes are quite small. The pho bowls barely have any noodles. If you're looking to fill yourself, get ready to drink a liter of broth. I wouldn't mind if the prices were more reflective of what you get, but at $15-17 you really can't justify the quality and quantity they provide. Service is usually pretty fast and the staff are polite. read more

Saigon Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants. They use high quality fresh ingredients and Eddie is a master bartender. It's a very friendly environment as well. One thing to consider is if you're going to order Pho, it's best to go to the actual restaurant (this is true for all Pho restaurants). The meat is served rare, and the broth is supposed to cook it. This can be difficult to accomplish in a delivery setting. That said, Saigon is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the city, well worth the visit. read more

Every time I walk past here on Euclid it is always full of people and I had never been here despite it being a 5 minute walking distance from me. The owner/waiter was so nice to us and so pleasant! The menus is extremely vast with so many choices including lots of pho veriety. I ended up getting chicken and rice which is a typical vietnamese dish I always like to get. Drink choices are ample as well. Looks like they have a good happy hour which I would like to try one day. read more

I have the upmost respect for people who work in the restaurant industry. I did it myself.. This is the first time someone basically called me a liar. We were missing the ingredients with one soup entree. I called the restaurant and advised of the missing ingredients for a soup. She basically told me this was impossible. I did appreciate being treated as a liar and trying to get something for free. I would happily take a lie detector test to validate what I wrote? Sure. custard7@yahoo.com read more

One of the best places to grab pho in CWE! It's always quick and easy, and everyone who helps you is very friendly!

Another little gem in the CWE! I don't know why it has taken me nearly 5 years to try out Little Saigon. So here's the breakdown: -it's clean! -the service was quick, knowledgeable and friendly -the menu was versatile with several options -they have specials -the flavors are poppin'! We started with the fried calamari. The side dipping sauce made of ginger and mint was great. The calamari was super chewy, however. He had short rib chunks that were incredible. It was served with a cup of rice and a side of cukes and a slice of tomato. Awesome! I would order this for a table app next time. It's basically all meat. I suggest ordering a side of veggies to balance it out. I had a fantastic party of flavor with the Beef Pho special. Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

We ordered carry out from Saigon Cafe recently for the first time and had a great experience! The food was ready on time when we got there; it was all fresh, hot when we got home, and packaged in a way that didn't compromise quality. We got both fresh and crispy spring rolls because we couldn't decide, both were amazing. My husband loved the Bun Ga Nuong Cha Gio and it was a huge portion. I got the Mi Hoanh Thanh, the broth was so flavorful and the shrimp dumplings were soft and delicious! Don't skip the Cafe su da, it's sweet and delicious!! We will definitely be back for more! read more

Solid vietnamese food in the central west end. One of the nicer sidewalk patios around the neighborhood too! Been eating here for the past 5 years since moving to the CWE and it's been consistently good. I love all their lemongrass dishes: lemongrass tofu, lemongrass shrimp. Service is generally good. I do a lot of takeout orders here -- i prefer to call in orders cause the online system always says a 45 minute wait. sometimes it is that long, but sometimes it's more like 15 mins, which they'll tell you over the phone. If you want to load up on extra veggies, I find it a better deal to order a side of the steamed veggies and dump it into my dish. read more

Ehhhh. I mean - I like the atmosphere but the Pho and Springrolls fell so short for me. The best best thing here though is the Beef Papaya Salad. Since I couldn't get pass the Beef Pho just not being up to par and the broth isn't clear, I just needed to stop. Things to note: Small portions of Sprouts - but ask for more and they cut off the tops (which is a little weird to me). Off to find the best Vietnamese Pho again in this city! read more

I decided to try for lunch. I settled on eating outside on the patio. It was lunchtime and I arrived at the right time because they started getting crowded soon after I arrived. I got ready to sit down and discovered the chair was a bit dirty. The waiter saw me struggling trying to move the chairs around but offered no help. Oh well..onto the food. I decided on the spring rolls and pho ga (chicken soup). The chicken soup was served hot and was filling. I had enough to take home. The pulled chicken that was in it was seasoned just right. My waiter was good but not on the friendly side. Maybe they should try working on at least forcing a smile. Overall a good experience. If I'm in the area maybe I'll try again. read more

TL:DR - Friendly service. Amazing apps and noodle dishes that won't let you leave hungry. While I won't say this is the best Pho place in STL, it's definitely a restaurant that deserves your attention. It's location is super accessible and the interior is welcoming. The wait staff is particularly friendly and welcoming. Everyone that walks in was greeted like a friend and also thanked for coming as they left. I came in with my partner and we got a great tasting of the entire menu, we got the Thai tea, crispy spring rolls, papaya salad, egg noodle soup with bbq pork and shrimp wonton, and beef pho. For us, the real stars of the night were the appetizers. The crispy spring rolls had a perfectly fried crispy outside similar to rally's fries vs. a sad take-out Chinese egg roll. The filling was a savory meat mixture that included pork, shrimp, and crab, and was served with a flavorful but light nuoc mam that complimented the dish perfectly. The papaya salad was also well received. The papaya was very fresh and dressed with a light helping of nuoc mam and chili garlic sauce if you want to spice it up. Other places tend to drown their salad with nuon mam to the point your drinking it with each bite, but this version kept was light enough to keep the salad refreshing while also still providing it with that nuoc mam acidity. In addition, the inclusion of marinated beef, provided great contrast to the papaya to keep it refreshing throughout the dish, vs. starting out great than tailing off with the one-note flavor. While I think the broth for both the shrimp wonton/bbq pork dish and the pho could have been more flavorful, the portions of each were huge and the ingredients for each fresh and enjoyable on their own. The egg noodles were chewy, the shrimp wontons were the perfect size to allow for full enjoyment with a spoonful of noodles, and they did not skimp on the bbq pork like other places. All in all, this is a perfect Vietnamese or sit-down spot if you're in the CWE. read more

We had lunch recently at this lovely restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. We were a bit surprised by the prices of the lunch menu as they seemed a bit high but when our food arrived we were very impressed by the extreme freshness and the perfection of both dishes. Both were very delicately spiced and cooked to perfection. So often we've found many Asian dishes that are too heavily sauced and overly salty because of the use of soy sauce. This however was not the case here and we were very happy with our choices. read more

This review is long overdue. So, please bear with me if the details are a little hazy. I came here for lunch with my lab over the summer and absolutely loved this place. I have been meaning to come back, but somehow I just never find the time. We came in on a Friday afternoon and were served fairly quickly. It only took a few minutes to get out food out and the service was great - quick and attentive. Perfect for lunch on a busy day. I ordered a chicken dish that was amazing. I can't remember the name of the dish but it had sautéed bell peppers, onions, and chicken, and was served with rice. The sauce was light and refreshing and the chicken was moist, tender and delicious. Check this place out if you're ever in CWE. read more

I've been here for lunch twice now. I've enjoyed it both times - enough so that I'll take my out of town peeps here for a nice, relaxed meal where we can catch up and gossip after we've spent beyond our means in the CWE boutique shops. I work in the lovely CWE, so this is very convenient spot to people watch if you sit outside on the sidewalk patio or by the big windows - which by the way, the whole wall is a window and opens in nice weather. BONUS! It's like an indoor patio! LOVE. As for the food...don't ask me what I ordered. Whatever it's called, I name it "Good Eats." I keep forgetting to write the name of the dish down, because I can never pronounce or spell it on my own. It's the tofu dish with chicken substitute, served with very fresh bok choy, zucchini, mushrooms, snap peas, carrots, and a light sauce. I love that the veggies are fresh and that the plate isn't swimming in sauce. I've had the dish with brown rice and then vermicelli - either way is great. I've also has the spring rolls - fresh and fried. Love the fresh the best. Again the veggies are super fresh, and the dipping sauce is yummers. It's a small spot, but good things come in small packages! read more

Food in the time of Covid: Eating out these days can be a whole thang and I'm so glad to say that Little Saigon cafe makes it like a walk in the park: Great take out and safe service, good food, and lovely packaging. Now, on to the food: - I got the Chef Special: Bun Ca Chien Cha Gio: It was the right combination of meats, veggies, vermicelli, and egg rolls. The portions were big - which mean I had more to eat for my next meal! And the reheat was still good. - My eyes were hungrier than I were, so I also got the Banh Xeo. I did not eat this immediately, but heated it up over the pan for the next meal and boy it was hands down the best Banh Xeo I had. And this was after re-heating it over the stove top!! - Papaya salad on the side with some yummy protein on top: I promise I'm not a glutton but the options here were all so healthy and tasty that I don't feel bad at all scarfing these down! The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, went really well with the sauce and the well marinated and grilled meat. Side note: They are also selling masks at a very good rate if y'all are running low on those! Overall this was a great experience for take out - And I look forward to more from Little Saigon! read more

I didn't get to snap a pic when I visited this quaint and refreshing restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Food was light, fresh and on the healthier side which was nice too. I personally sampled: 08) Banh Xeo Vietnamese rice flour crepe with shrimp, pork. bean sprouts, onions, lettuce, fresh herbs, and nuoc mam sauce. - I have to say the crepe itself was one of a kind and a lovely flavor. Unfortunately I had a shard of plastic inside the filling/lettuce. Lucky it wasn't swallowed. They did not charge for this appetizer. 09) Muc Chien Fried calamari, jalapeños, onions, with lemon-mint dipping sauce. - The fried calamari was delicious and the dip was a very lemony clear liquid. It made it pop with a citrus touch. 15) Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio Grilled pork. Served with two crispy meat spring rolls. - The Vermicelli Noodles we're the perfect texture and this dish had the same lemony tang to it as the calamari dip. Spring rolls were delish. Overall the flavors were on the light side and lemony. Everything ordered was "spicy" but it wasn't actually spicy. What I sampled would be good for someone that wants to venture into the world of flavors without a big shock. My fav thing about trying this new place was the company I was with, and friendly service. read more

AMAZING Pho omg. I ordered it TWICE in TWO NIGHTS, to be clear. Brisket Pho was SO FLAVORFUL and they genuinely give you these huge portions for the price. Little Saigon was fantastic. Really enjoyed the food and the service during Covid-19 was very good as well. The Vietnamese rolls were small and hard, like they had been refried. The grilled food tasted more of gas grill grease than of shrimp or beef. The green papaya salad was small with a few pieces of overcooked beef. Our wait was lengthy...our waiter actually indicated that the chef had stepped out to lunch. The prices are higher than those of other Vietnamese restaurants serving same dishes. read more

Came from Chicago for meetings, tried this spot. Not great. Overpriced pho and the broth wasnt good at all. Pho Dac Biet missing, tripe, vegetables were slim and overpriced. Service was okay. Confidently located in the central west end. Large selection of Vietnamese food and the service is nice! Pork Chop Combo: I liked the pork, I was very nicely seasoned and was a little sweet and savory. It came with an egg that was a little too cooked for me, I'm a sucker for that runny egg, and a side of rice. The pork was a little tough and slightly rubbery unfortunately. Pho: The pho broth was tasty, not too salty, but very regular, nothing really stood out. Except for the price. For about $15, you could get a much bigger and better bowl else read more
