Loved this place! Great great food and great drinks. The service was quick and everyone was super polite! It definitely gets busy in the weekends, so expect a wait. But it is well worth it read more

I came here last night for dinner. The restaurant was bustling when I arrived, and a few parties were ahead of me, waiting for their table. The wait was between 10-15 minutes, and I waited. Less than 10 minutes later, I got my table and sat by the front window overlooking the busy streets of Euclid Ave. Christmas decorations are everywhere in the restaurant, which has this holiday vibe. I ordered Cha Gio, which was so delicious, and the sauce that came with it was a perfect pair, and then Bo Luc Lac (this was a tasty main dish, and the only thing missing was the sauce that was supposed to come with my order). Since it was almost Christmas, I had to order one of the restaurant's holiday cocktails- Clark Griswold Eggnog- which was tasty and strong! It is a must-order drink for the holidays. read more

Disappointing. Pho broth was very bland and without hint of spice, and noodles were soggy. Not sure why this place has such high ratings for the quality of food. read more

This was our third time eating at this restaurant and it was very disappointing. The server didn't know much about the food or mixed drinks. The mixed drinks were watered down. The whole experience was a disaster. read more

Got an order here from Uber eats from this place and trying it for the first time. The Thai tea was amazing. Seriously the best I've had in the city. The bun with beef had the most perfect egg rolls and balance of noodles and veggies. The beef was just large weird beef chunks and I wish they had been sliced. I took a star off for this. The pandan coconut tapioca cake was super tasty and my first time having it. Who knows why it was my first time but it won't be my last. Overall a delicious meal. read more

The pho is average at best, nothing to it. And pricey for what it is. I would recommend the chicken wings, you get only 4 but soo yummy. I would definitely skip read more

I'm a frequent customer at Saigon Cafe and it's become one of "my spots". The staff is always so friendly. I go there so often at this point, a lot of the people there have become friends of mine. But not only do I enjoy the social aspect, but obviously the food and drinks are what kept me coming back in the first place. I usually sit at the bar and let Eddie or Anca whip up something cool. They're always making new and delicious cocktails. My go-to dish is the bo luc lac, but their pho and rice dishes are also fantastic. Plus they have the best crispy spring rolls in the city in my opinion. The vibe is very chill and comfortable. They even sometimes have different entertainers come and perform live music on the weekends. Definitely a must try if you're ever in the Central West End! read more

really good. I am just passing through town, here for a few days but I will visit again, this time for dinner. Lunch was a pleasant experience. The summer shrimp rolls are fresh and tender. the dipping sauce a little more sour and pungent that I am used to in the NYC area counterparts, but who's to say which one is more genuine or creative? papaya salad was very tasty with a clean presentation and the beef tastes charbroiled yummy . I also had the shrimp dumplings, which are more similar to the Chinese ones, thicker dough but again, very well prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant, the prices are very reasonable as well. Saint Louis is a food mecca. who knew? I'm so ignorant. read more

Saigon Cafe - N2. - Vietnamese Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

My boyfriend loves Pho, and we have a favorite in the city, but still like to try other things (and other Vietnamese dishes). This spot is pretty close to our house, so we decided to give it a try. SO worth it. I'll start by telling you that he had one of the beef Pho dishes, and even though he prefers our normal spot (which specializes in Pho), he said this was still pretty bomb. I got the veggie curry and OMG IT WAS SO GOOD - this place is great if you want to try different kinds of dishes. It was flavorful, the right kind of spice, their tofu was delicious, I got two meals out of it - my only complaint is I wanted to eat it all week long! It was so good. Their cold spring rolls were also great, and the peanut sauce they paired with it? *chefs kiss*. We are big fans. Great little spot, they prepared our food super quick for carry out. Highly recommend. read more

This is a popular spot for a work lunch. Half of my dept is vegetarian and there are always plenty of options for us all to choose something we like. I've enjoyed the bo luc lac plenty of times, and mango salad. I've even brought my husband here a couple times. The service is always friendly and food is delicious. read more

My friend and I walked into here on a weekday lunchtime looking for a fast bite. We were seated quickly by a server, and it looked like there were only two servers supporting the whole restaurant (including both indoors and outdoors). While it took a bit of time for us to receive service when we were ready to order, it was understandable and we appreciate our server's cheerful demeanor despite a stressful full house. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and was very pleased with the portion size when my plate came. Usually have the issue of too much curry or too much rice, causing an imbalance and a sadness when I finish one and don't have the other anymore. However, the large chunks of vegetable and protein in the plate helps to make sure that there was enough of everything throughout the entire lunch. By the time the server came back to clear our table, my plate was cleaned. It's a lovely little cafe near the campuses that I definitely recommend. Please be patient with the staff -- they're doing their best, and their best should be commended. :) read more

Small restaurant located near the Wash U. Medical center. We were seated promptly even though the place was full. Unfortunately our table was pretty much in the middle of where everyone walked. We started with the steamed vegetables. Rather bland but healthy. We each ordered a dish which sat on a bed of rice noodles. I had the beef. My wife had the shrimp and beef combo. Each came with two spring rolls and a salad all served in a single bowl. A lot of food but tasty. A bit greasy because of the spring rolls. Very filling lunch. We did not come away hungry. Obviously a popular place as there were many types of diners there. read more

I am an industry person and I have loved this place ever since I tried it 3 years ago. I love the vibe. The ambiance. The food. The service. Move over Mai Lee (sorry, still love you but...) I've found my favorite Vietnamese spot in the Lou! Let's just jump right in on everything we ordered: Thai Iced Tea - a hint of sweetness, not overwhelmingly sweet like most Thai iced tea I have had. Just the right amount of creaminess and you can definitely still taste the integrity of the tea. $4 each. Chicken wings - the sauce is a sweet and sour sauce but not the artificial ones used in many Asian restaurants. Wings arrived hot and even though they were drenched in sauce the outside was still super crispy. $10 (I think....maybe $12) Papaya salad with grilled beef - full of thinly sliced papaya and lots of herbs. Definitely the most refreshing dish and it is perfect as an appetizer. The beef had a nice subtle flavor and perfectly grilled. $12 Lemon grass chicken - prominent lemon grass flavor, you can tell the chicken had been marinading for a while. I believe they used boneless skinless chicken thighs, they were super tender. Veggies included green onions, onions and jalapeños, a little heat, not too much. Portion size was more than enough. $16 Pho deluxe - it was so good that I'm still thinking about it 5 hours later. It is beef broth with short ribs, rare beef slices (it cooks perfectly once submerged in the hot broth), beef meatballs and beef tendons. The short ribs were very tender with just right amount of fat to lean ratio. I looooooove beef tendon and they were so tender. It does have a texture kind of like eating fat, but trust me it is nutritious and good for you. The last two times I was at Mai Lee and got similar dish, the tendon was almost nonexistent. Saigon Cafe did not skimp on the ingredients. The waiter told us they cook the broth for 24 hours and it shows. Service was super friendly, the waiter was attentive without being annoying. He made just the right amount of conversation with us. Restaurant is very clean. The prices is not the cheapest but you can certainly get away with around $15 per person and be full. We splurged because it's date night so our bill ended up being $75 pre-tip with everything we ordered. I am definitely planning on going back. read more

Service and food were excellent. I especially loved the chicken wings. Patio is cute in the summer.

I've been looking forward to trying this place ever since Pho Grand closed which was my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I was pretty disappointed with the flavor of everything. The food was very bland. The egg rolls were oily and the sauce for them didn't have much of a taste. The shrimp dumplings were bland and the sauce for them was horrible. It almost tastes just like soy sauce. For my entree I ordered the marinated chicken with vermicelli noodles. The noodles were plain and tasteless and the chicken was just ok. I definitely won't be back. If you want some good Vietnamese cuisine definitely go to Mai Lee. They actually have flavor in their food read more

My first visit here on Friday. They have indoor, bar, and outdoor seating. It was a nice evening to sit outside. The service was excellent. Glass was never empty. Always coming by and clearing empty plates. Had the opportunity to try many things. The highlights: 1. Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls. Wow! Must get. The wrap was amazing. Light. Crispy. Not greasy. While the serving size was plenty, I could easily eat a few orders! So tasty and the skin!!! 2. Shaking beef. Cooked to your preference. Extremely flavorful. This is definitely something you want to get. Amazing. 3. Stir fried curry vermicelli rice noodles. It comes with chicken and shrimp. The chicken was tender and tasty. You know how many times the protein is just there to get the flavors of the dish? The protein here can stand on it's own. I could've eaten the chicken without the noodles. The dish in itself had good flavor and had some slight heat. Definitely enough for leftovers too! 4. Coconut ice cream. Homemade. Plenty of pieces of coconut. Definitely a light, flavorful, delicious end to the meal. Definitely a great meal with awesome service. Just have to deal with the typical CWE parking. Reserve some time to look for street or lot... read more

Saigon Cafe - Crispy spring rolls. Shrimp pot stickers. Curry noodles. Rice noodle bowl with pork patty. Coconut ice cream. Shaking beef. Calamari. - Vietnamese Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

Very very happy with this place. I stay in the Central West End often and this is within walking distance. I got the spring rolls with shrimp and they were awesome! I loved their peanut sauce on the side as well, other places don't always have a good one. I also got the traditional beef pho and was extremely pleased. The broth had a great flavor and the bowl had plenty of beef and noodles. I love that they bring the garnishes as requested so none are wasted. Definitely one of the nicer Vietnamese places I've been, although their seating is a little tight by the window and there was a dehumidifier (maybe?) blowing right by our table. No biggie, still loved the place. read more
