Pho and grilled pork with egg and rice

Very good food and service!! They were pretty busy but everything came out quick plus they gave us another free Thai tea

Saigon House Special pho with eye of round steak, well done flank, and meatballs. - A bowl of Vietnamese pho contains slices of beef, fresh cilantro, chopped green onions, and bean sprouts in a clear, aromatic broth. The dish is served in a white ceramic bowl on a wooden table, with a black spoon partially visible inside. The herbs are placed on top, adding color and flavor to the soup.

Driving through Eugene on the way to Portland. Didn't feel like eating fast food for dinner and found this well rated Vietnamese restaurant on Yelp. It's a simple little restaurant without much decoration, but it's clean and spacious. There were just ten tables and only one waitress, and she was pleasant and efficient. Ordered their Saigon house special pho and bun with grilled pork and grilled shrimps. Food was good and fresh, sure beat fast food off the freeway. Wouldn't mind coming back next time we are in the area.

Good Vietnamese place in a strip mall, really happy with the fast and attentive service. We had two different Pho's (chicken and beef) and salad rolls. All were excellent and prices were ok (competitive to other places). I would be sure to come back here if in town and craving Pho.

I really wanted to like this place, but when I got my sandwich, it seemed like several things were missing, such as the mayonnaise and a few other ingredients. It also seemed that the bread was really crunchy. Decent service and no major ambiance, but my sandwich wasn't complete. It was dry. No thanks.

Ask the Community - Saigon Cafe

Are those side sauces that come with the pho gluten free?

If they contain soy sauce then they most likely are NOT gluten free. I assume the peanut sauce contains soy sauce.

Is it open on Sundays?

No closed on Sunday's

Are there gluten free options?

I don't know if what they have there is tamari. If you ask at Saigon cafe, they seem very knowledgeable about gluten. I'm gluten sensitive, so I am not the right person to ask.

Does the pho have MSG?

No

What a weird, strange, surreal place. Went there a while…read moreback but the owner who just sort of hangs out there made fun a person ahead of me because they ordered a vegetarian sandwich. That's what I was going to order so I left. I recently gave them another shot and what a regret that was. Came in and the owners and their entire family were there ripping bags of chips, using foul language, talking about personal subjects not appropriate for a restaurant, etc. I felt like I was in their living room rather than a restaurant. Also, one of them kept on going in and out of the front door every 1-2 minutes wearing a hoody in a way that made me nervous like I need to keep a watchful eye. He was constantly engaging with all the "off" street people and even invited a homeless person inside to go through the garbage to collect recycling. All the while the owners are all there, chilling with their family, and not really caring about cultivating a comfortable environment for their dine in customers, I had enough. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong. I got up, left, and will NEVER come back again. The worst dining experience of my life

They opened a second location in what is now the ARBY'S on West 11th. Their bread was fresh and soft and withstood the topping piled onto their sandwiches. It was heaven and a sandwich was good to get you through two meals. Then they disappeared. Today my wife brought me home a sandwich from Subshop and it hit all the right notes! Fresh baked bread with a great flavor and structure that held together. I had the turkey sandwich and added avocado and bacon. They were very generous with both. Every bite had all of the ingredients and flavors and was perfectly balanced. While this was my first experience with Subshop it won't be my last!

It is a very eclectic type of lunch spot for sure. Their menu is unique to say the least. But it was a very pleasant surprise when we got our sandwiches. I ordered the Kali Mist on wheat and added feta cheese. The flavor profile was awesome. Could have used a bit more avocado and pickles, but overall the sando was great. And I'm not a bread lover at all, but their bread is better than advertised. My daughter had the White Widow, which she loved and my friend had the Thai Stick, which was also great. If you're in Eugene, you defiantly have to grab lunch here. I also love that they offer a 4" sando for those of us that don't have huge appetites. Next time I go I'm getting one of their vegetarian options. They have some great ones on the menu.

Last week, my buddies and I decided to try Cheba Hut since we've walked past it countless times. The sandwiches were amazing, and super filling. Great flavor on all three of our sandwiches. Everyone there was super nice so all around the service was good. Although this app only allows "full" stars my honest review would be a 4.25. Not quite a 4.5 but definitely better than a 4. Try this place out and you won't be let down.
