A Masterclass in Authentic Thai Heat and Flavor If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience that perfectly balances authentic Thai tradition with approachable comfort, Chaiyo Thai Bistro is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you see the iconic blue menu with the crowned elephant, you know you're in for something special. This isn't just "another Thai spot"; it is easily one of the best Asian fusion establishments I have ever encountered. Exceptional Service Beyond the food, what truly sets this place apart is the outstanding service. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. They are attentive without being overbearing, and their knowledge of the menu is top-notch. When I ordered my dish "Thai Hot," they handled it with a pro's touch--making sure I knew exactly what I was getting into while ensuring the kitchen delivered a meal that was as flavorful as it was fiery. It's rare to find a place where the hospitality is as sharp as the cooking, but the team here nails it. The Main Event: Yakisoba (Thai Hot) I decided to go with the Yakisoba, and since I enjoy a challenge, I ordered it "Thai Hot." Let me tell you: wow. It was an absolute revelation. The Heat: Often, "extra hot" just means "painful," but here, the heat was layered and complex. It provided that incredible, searing Thai chili kick that opens up your senses without masking the actual flavors of the dish. The Execution: The noodles were perfectly wok-seared--retaining a great texture--and tossed with a vibrant mix of fresh, crunchy vegetables like broccoli and those beautifully crinkle-cut carrots. The bean sprouts and fresh cilantro on top added a cooling, herbal finish that balanced the intense heat beautifully. It was a high-octane flavor profile that I'm still thinking about. Cashew Chicken My wife opted for the Cashew Chicken, and it was equally impressive. It arrived with a generous portion of fluffy white rice and was loaded with high-quality ingredients. The Balance: The sauce had that perfect savory-sweet depth that defines a great cashew stir-fry. The Ingredients: The chicken was tender, and the peppers and onions were sautéed to the perfect point where they still had a bit of "snap." The roasted cashews provided a rich, buttery crunch that tied the whole plate together. It's a classic dish, but Chaiyo elevates it to a level of quality you rarely find. The Supporting Cast (Appetizers) We couldn't resist trying the starters, and they did not disappoint: Potstickers: Deep-fried to a gorgeous golden brown, these had a satisfying crunch on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside. The dark, savory dipping sauce provided a great salty contrast. Spring Rolls: These were light, crispy, and remarkably non-greasy. Served with a sweet chili dipping sauce that had just the right amount of tang, they were the perfect way to prime our palates for the spicy mains. Final Verdict The menu at Chaiyo is extensive--ranging from their specialized Noodle Soups like the Khao Soi to a variety of Stir-Fried favorites. The atmosphere is charming, and the service is clearly dedicated to excellence. Whether you are a heat-seeker looking for that authentic Thai burn or someone who appreciates a perfectly balanced cashew chicken, this bistro delivers on every front.

House Curry with Tofu
Kirsten R.

First time dining here and I experienced friendly service and appreciated the live plants in the dining room. I came in during lunch and the server was quite occupied by all the diners so you might need to wait a bit. Their menu does not identify vegan/vegetarian dishes although they do offer tofu and tempeh as protein sources. I ordered the house curry with tofu. I was served a bowl of rice first which was unfortunate as by the time the curry was brought out the rice was not very warm. The curry itself was piping hot but not to the medium spice level that I had hoped. It contained carrots, bell peppers and tofu. Overall I found it kind of bland. I will be back to give them another try. I think for the price point the quality/taste could be improved.

Thom Ka noodles

Omg this place is a hidden gem and welcome addition to Santa Clara! Everything we tried was so delicious! The portions are so large and filling! I had the Thom Ka Noodles by recommendation of our server and I loved it! The server was so attentive and personable for being the only server for the whole restaurant. He took the time to explain the dishes and made excellent recommendations. We were a party of 6 and they were able to seat us right away. Ample parking and really nice ambiance and decor. Definitely will be back with the rest of the family! A must try!

Pumpkin curry and Pad Thai

I've been here 3 times since they've opened. I've ordered the pumpkin curry every time and every time it's been delicious. Food and service is excellent! Since I live in the area and there aren't many good restaurants in this area, I really hope this restaurant is successful.

I eat here everyday basically. I don't eat at any other Thai place. I might be biased but I don't eat anywhere else unless it's in Thailand

Glass House Coffee Bar - Where the Beans Are Brewed and the Dads Are Punny…read more If you're in Eugene and looking for a place that's brew-tiful inside and out, pedal your way to Glass House Coffee Bar -- just a short ride from the river trail, and trust me, it's worth the cycle. ‍ First off, the architecture is so cool, it might just give your iced latte a complex. With sleek glass walls and plant life that could make a greenhouse jealous, this place is serving up serious fern-tastic vibes. I walked in and immediately thought, "Wow, this place is un-be-leaf-able." Now let's talk coffee. I ordered a cappuccino so smooth, it should've come with a tuxedo. My friend got a pour-over and said it was grounds-breaking. And don't even get me started on the pastries -- flaky enough to ghost you after one date, but so good you forgive them instantly. The baristas? Friendly, fast, and full of beans (literally and figuratively). One even told me my dad jokes were espresso-nally bad, which I took as a compliment. Whether you're a caffeine connoisseur or just need a place to espresso yourself, Glass House is the kind of spot that makes you want to linger, laugh, and maybe adopt a succulent or two. Bottom line: great coffee, great vibes, and enough plant life to make your mom say, "You should really get one of these for your apartment." I'm already planning my next visit -- it's brew-destined.

Small interior, but large on ambiance…read more The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable on their menu and the flavors. There are a few barstools inside and a few tables outside as well. The parking lot has a few spots and street parking. The inside is very cute with plants and random art all over. I enjoyed the vanilla cardamom latte was perfection and the bagel was fresh and had a good hardy flavor. Nice place to chill or work.
