My group of friends and I were visiting Son's Island for the weekend and to our surprise, we were able to find this Viet restaurant in this small town. Even with that said, we didn't think it would have the same caliber pho as the bigger cities in TX. We really just wanted pho. But TRUST, you won't be disappointed coming here. I'm not a fan of Vietnamese Food however I brought my daughter because she wanted to try out the food, 5 stars for atmosphere 5 stars for the young lady who waited on us BUT this is where I gave it 4 stars . They were out of the food I wanted to try so I waited for my daughter to get her food and tried it and YES it was delicious BUT when I went pay with my debit card there was a 3% charge for that service . I am a business owner myself and feel you must disclose that ahead of time in your menu or posted on the wall but never at the end of your meal . The owner was very kind to apologize for not having the dish I wanted but the hidden fee at the end rubbed me wrong way. I understand credit card companies charge businesses a lot but I feel it must be posted somewhere. read more

Amazing every time. The owner really cares about his customers. He takes so much personal interest in them. He remembers everyone's name and comes out to talk to the customers. His specialty dishes he doesn't let anyone else cook but always does himself. All the dishes are TOP quality. We eat Vietnamese in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston but it's NEVER as good!!! Saigan Bistro was recommended to us by several friends and it did not disappoint. Restaurant: the establishment was clean and we were greeted immediately. Plaza del Rey has been around for quite some time and the exterior of the shopping center has seen it's fair share of wear, but the interior of the restaurant is fresh and very up to date. Service: After picking our table we didn't have to wait long for service and had our drinks and orders taken in a timely manner. Server and all staff were very polite and quick to respond. We didn't wait long for our food either. Menu: I wasn't familiar with the menu and the server, who also turned out to be our cook (and possibly the manager), was helpful, explaining the different options on the menu and making recommendations. Food: We both ordered the same thing (D5) Filet mignon with fried rice and soup. The food arrived hot and was delicious. We really liked the fresh made chili sauce which they prepare in-house. The soup was a nice starter, the filet was delicious, and the fried rice was absolutely amazing, the BEST in Seguin. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. Cons: The only thing that did not add to the experience was that the organizer on our table was poorly stocked. The soy sauce was empty and there were no soup spoons in the slots. (I didn't mind that so much because I'd rather have a soup spoon come along with my soup rather than take one from an organizer that's been touched by everyone who's sat at that table. It's flu season ) But we did have to go in search of our own spoons. The server checked on us at the end of the meal and when I asked about it, he told us that he will cook the filet to whatever doneness we prefer. That's a definite plus. Saigan Bistro earned 5 Stars from me and we plan to return soon. read more

Lunch today was quite tasty. The place was not busy, service was good and prices are fair. I had the chicken pho. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but pretty good. The broth could use a little more depth of flavor and less ginger. But it's a nice sized portion with lots of meat. The Vietnamese spring rolls were excellent. Thank goodness that this place opened! The owner is always there and very inviting. He really knows his food and enjoys making his customers happy, which is rare now a days. This is our default restaurant and we are trying everything on the menu. My oldest recommends the Hawaiian beef wraps and we are pho-a-holics. The menu is way to read bd not over loaded. They can also prepare food for groups or family style with notice. Strongly recommend if your driving down 10 and need some sustenance. It is worth the 2.5 miles and easy to find. Also order the Thai tea. It is refreshing with a hint of Carmel flavor. Can't say enough about it, and the bathroom is super clean! read more

I love Vietnamese food and have eaten it all over the country. This is one of my favorites! Everything on the menu is delicious. The pho is outstanding and made fresh everyday with locally procured ingredients. The owner is extremely friendly and will often come table to table to see how you like the food. He will excitedly tel you exactly how he makes everything and is genuinely happy to see people eat his family recipes. Seguin is not known for its wide range in culinary choices so this restaurant was a nice change from the Mexican, fast food or bbq that has been our choices. All I will say is MMM MMM MMM. This is some good eats. My husband was literally their very first customer and he continues to go back. We had a group of friends treats us to a meal there about a month ago and the service was incredible. The twin waitresses are always on top of anything we may need. The food is tasty, pleasant to the eyes and easy on the palate. While the menu isn't very large the items that are on the menu is enough to satisfy anyone's taste and preference. The good was absolutely great. A friend of mine and i both had the pork chop D-2 plate. The plate was huge but better yet was absolutely delicious. My other friend had the tofu noodle plate. We've been waiting and waiting for Saigon Bistro to open. Today my husband was out on his motorcycle running errands and saw the Grand Opening sign! So he popped in and got a to go order of Pho with brisket, just for me because he's wonderful like that. The brisket was savory, tender, and delicious. The broth was wonderfully fragrant with a rich, but not greasy, flavor and feel. The to go serving was ginormous (yay!) and packed great! Came home on the motorcycle without even the tiniest leak. My husband says the people working their were really really nice. We are looking forward to going and trying more dishes! read more
