On this days adventure I found myself at "Happy Dragon" in the New Braunfels area. It's an Asian Cuisine restaurant with a good menu selection. But let me begin from the beginning, the establishment is located in a strip mall close to Lowe's, you have plenty of parking and as you enter you can view a good amount of seating. As you approach the counter you can see the menu on the wall but there is also paper menus. The personnel are charming and helpful to guide you through the menu. So now the most important part for a restaurant, I chose the "Egg Rolls" to begin my journey, then I selected the "General Tso's Chicken" a personal favorite of mine. The dish comes your choice of different items to accompany your meal I choose the Crab Rangoons with Wonton Soup. So let me start with the egg rolls, they were crunchy, tasteful and with sweet and sour sauce made them wonderful. Now the wonton soup with the crispy wontons was another great addition with the flavor of a well made soup. Now the main dish, the general tso's chicken, was excellently cooked and very delicious the fried rice was equally delicious and the crab rangoons were very tasty. Overall this is a good option for Asian food and I highly recommend it. read more

Convenient location easy to get to. It's clean and has enough seating. The cashier was super Nice and attentive. The egg drop soup with delicious, as well as the crunchies that they provide. However, the meal it's Self. The rice tasted old and stale, even the chicken tasted a bit off. The lunch special also came with the option of Rangoon/egg roll/etc. I got the Rangoon, it was meh. read more

Still the best oriental food in New Braunfels. Not high priced and you receive large portions. It is not fancy, but you can't eat fancy, just good and quick with friendly staff. read more

Well, I accidentally twice ordered from this restaurant because it was recommended by yelp and both times I was happily surprised. No complaints here I took it to go read more

Yuck, yuck, yuck! Dry as dust. No sauce on any of the two dishes we ordered. Sauces offered as "extra" at a charge.....weren't the type on the chicken.....stuffing the container doesn't make it good. A well balanced sauce to noodle ratio are more like a high end entree, but not here. It's just slop stuffed into a container. read more

Large menu to choose from. Egg drop soup was delicious. Our Broccoli chicken, sweet & sour chicken & rice were so-so. Large portions. Taste was mediocre at best, othing note worthy. Service was great, friendly & quick. read more

I dislike seeing all the negative reviews for this place. We usually order delivery when we dine here. The service is consistently excellent, and the food arrives quickly and hot. Their online ordering is straightforward, and I always receive exactly what I order. The food is good for the price. Happy Dragon is our preferred choice when we don't want to cook dinner. read more

Definitely will not return to this location as soon as we walked in for the 1st time atmosphere was unpleasant Worker was slouched over the counter taking our order she was very rude when we asked questions gave us ugly looks and got our order wrong even when she read it back to us!!! 0/10 Food was good though read more

I eat here at least once a week sometimes two. I always order the same thing. Hot and sour soup. This time the soup was completely different. Had an odd milky brown appearance and was almost tasteless as compared to the usual dark brown broth. When they brought to my table I asked what it was she was bringing since I didn't recognize it at all. She confirmed it was the Hot and sour soup. I finished it and when I went up to the counter to place a to go order the girls behind the counter didn't offer much in an explanation. A guy came out from the kitchen and I asked him about it. He said,"Yeah...it was me made differently and watered down quite a bit. I just looked at him and told him that the old recipe was much better. He smiled and walked off. Will this cause me to not return? Not sure. I usually have a good experience here but the two girls were more concerned with their phones and the guy didn't seem to care either. read more

Food is always 10/10 never had a single complaint! They're always quick, despite having a wait, and always friendly. Restaurant is mainly busy with takeout, so it's nice to sit inside from time to time. keep being awesome! read more

Service is just awful, I really love the food but every time I order it's always a hour plus wait, and today its been a hour and a half and i still haven't gotten my food which is the sad part. I tip every time and it just sucks i feel like i keep wasting my money. Even when i come in it's still a 30 minute wait. We've learned to just order ahead and come in 30 minutes later to pick it up. But today was the last straw, loved this place but i'm gonna move on and give my money to a place who actually cares. read more

This was a very good place. The wonton soup was so so but I liked my steak and mushrooms a lot. I bought my husband sesame balls which he enjoyed for his birthday. There was a little confusion because I was the first one who used the Yelp check in. The rice was so delicious that I ordered second . Never had crab Rangoons like these before. They were delicious. read more

The food i ordered was general to's chicken and it was very good ! It had the perfect amount of heat and good flavor! The fried rice and egg roll i could've done with out. First review I've ever needed to post. This was the worst Chinese delivery order we have ever received. The food came quick I'll say that but we'll not be returning after the $89 of garbage. Let's start with the sesame chicken and fried rice.. you couldn't even pull the pieces apart it was mushed together and the ones that we were able to eat were rubbery and chewy. The fried rice was bland and had burnt oil taste to it. We had the Mongolian beef which was tender but did not taste anything like Mongolian style beef. As if it was watered down and just a small amount of spice which was the only flavor that stood out. The vegetable though had a taste of plastic and was very unpleasant. Along with this our cheese Rangoon were colored as if cooked correctly but when trying to get after it we had to chew on it as if it was raw hide. A dab of cream cheese filled 1/8th of the whole thing. This was a go to at one point a few years back. Thank god I ordered the kids sweet and sour chicken the sauce comes on the side and the only thing that was correctly cooked was the chicken pieces. That was crispy and the kids passed on the fried rice. The soups were well just soups we had the special wanton- egg drop- sweet and sour. It was ok. Last of all the a la cart family order of pork lo mein. Hard pass the pork has a foul smell and the noodles were sticky and dry. I passed all together and my wife tried to make me feel better by eating a little of this horrible meal. Last thing I'm writing this from the bathroom as I'm trying to get my wits back from my stomach ruining my evening. I've never written a review before but this had me turn a page in the book. Unacceptable! read more

The food wasn't all that great. The service was okay. The Ambiance wasn't bad. Overall is not worth my money

Gave this place a second chance and it was not good again. Got beef lo mein and it had a really heavy ginger flavor so much so that we just trashed it. Broccoli beef didn't really taste like anything, the rice it came with was old and had crunchy bits. Chicken pad thai was ok. The rangoons were too hard to eat. Egg flour soup didn't taste good and the forgot the egg rolls. When I called the lady was nice and said she could send them out but there were no delivery drivers right now so it'd be a wait. She refunded my card for those. Wouldn't recommend. read more

the food is good! but several times we don't get the extra duck sauce or soy sauce we order. also have expressed I'll pay extra. then NO chop sticks as ordered. and now couple times ordered lemon chicken and I get some watered down looking gravy or ranch substance instead! come on! really? read more

Happy Dragon - Fried rice half chicken half steak - Chinese Near Me - New Braunfels, Texas

Food was delivered hot and on time. The food was rather bland. I ordered triple delight and you could not taste the difference between the chicken, beef or even the shrimp. read more

I ordered delivery due to there being no places where I live. I had heard about this place on a local Facebook group. Let me tell you...this place is complete garbage. Panda Express a chain place has better food than this place. There is nothing authentic about this at all. I would have had better food if I bought a frozen box dinner at the grocery store. It would have been better. I'm not even convinced this place doesn't just reheat frozen garbage and send it out. The General Tso chicken was complete trash. The chicken tasted reheated abd lacked freshness. The sauce it was cooked in horrible, tasted unlike anything I've had, definitely not what I expected as far as general tso chicken I've tried. The egg rolls also horrible. Like a frozen pack tossed in a fryer and served. My wife got the Kung pao chicken and couldn't finish it. She made herself other food it was so bad. The fried dumplings tasted like plastic. The fried rice that came with the meal was hard and tasteless. It was barely fried. Like someone mixed a little soy sauce in it and microwaved it. Being in New Braunfels maybe they can get away with this because the tourists it's one and done regardless. But I can't ever see myself going there. I'll drive to universal city myself snd go to China moon or Shanghai. This is what i get for not wanting to go pick it up myself. I doubt there is any sort of Chinese influence to this food. This is just garbage. Stay away unless you want to waste money and be disappointed. There are far better ways to waste your money and walk away less disappointed. read more

Gave them another chance after months of having their food and was not acceptable. No change, in fact today's Lemon Chicken and fried rice was awful. Chicken looked and tasted like it had been sitting, maybe from yesterday and warmed up. Parts were a gray color so didn't even eat, threw in trash. So disappointing. Will not be back. Will stay with faithful Panda Express. Lunch time and no one in the restaurant, should have left. Oh well. read more
