I'm so glad I came here a couple months ago on a whim because I didn't feel like cooking! My husband and I have ordered dinner from there a few times since. There fried rice is our favorite that we've found at any place in the seguin and new braunfels area. I've never dined in, but the restaurant is always seemingly clean and their restroom(s) are clean too. The iced coffee is SO GOOD and so are their smoothies. Honestly, I'd drive there multiple times a week just for one of their smoothies. Beef skewers are amazing and I always enjoy their fresh vermicelli plates. Next time I will try their pho. No, no, no. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed. My daughter and I went for lunch our bill was $20. She got a side of rice a side of egg rolls and I got a sandwich. The egg rolls were inedible and tasted like rotten fish. My pork sandwich was mediocre and served on a Mexican roll that they got from the neighbor Mexican Market and her rice was bland. The restaurant was filthy! We went at about 2:00 so I assume it was after the lunch rush but it looks as though they had not cleaned the floor in weeks. The employees were ok but complaining that they wanted to go home at least the girl was. Save yourself and go to McDonalds. read more

This is my first time here and I'm already planning on trying everything on the menu. I was torn between having pho or shaken beef. My awesome waitress solved it for me by offering a small bowl of pho. I was not disappointed. Let me tell y'all this is by far the BEST shaken beef I've ever had. The pho was delicious too. The food was absolutely horrible. I ordered the pork chop fried rice place. First of all I pulled a long gray hair off my plate. The pork chop was cooked to about to a pork jerky texture. Service wasn't all that bad, but I went mid-afternoon and was the only customer. The dining area was filthy and the floor was sticky. Food was all over the floor and some tables. The dining room employee sat and looked at her phone after I ordered. I ordered the beef fried rice and had about 10 bites before I couldn't eat anymore...not good and felt like I was eating a week old rice. When they took my order, the cashier then shut the sliding shade in what appeared to be an attempt to keep me from seeing in the kitchen. It was open when I walked in and ordered. We come here about twice a month for dinner. It's always good but not my favorite Vietnamese. Seems just a little lacking in choices and depth of flavors. We tried this restaurant on Sunday (7.8.18) and it was delicious! Started with Vietnamese egg rolls, then I had marinated grilled chicken with fried rice while my husband ordered lemongrass beef with fried rice. Soup comes with the rice plates. I was not as big a fan of the soup simply because I tasted and smelled ginger in it and I am not a huge fan of ginger. Beef broth with cilantro and onions is tasty minus the ginger (for me). The fried rice was excellent and my grilled chicken was moist, tender and flavorful! Service was excellent too! SAIGON BISTRO in Seguin by the Grand buffet. Forget crawfish, overrated and overpriced. I'm in Seguin and I just want a grilled pork with optional liver pate' banh mi. Luckily though they have a kids size pho for only $5.50, compared to the normal big bowl of about $9.99. The homemade pate is out of this world. Next I'm going to get one of those Pate only sandwiches with the Vietnamese bologna and ham and homemade Vietnamese mayo. The grill pork was okay but the Pate had all the flavor. The Banh Mi was only 3.95, even with the added Pate'. The owner said his recipe was passed down to him from his grandfather and he makes truly authentic pho. I couldn't tell you how to judge something authentic but this was some of the richest most flavorful pho I had around. There were plenty of vegetables in the meatballs and brisket were very tender. The broth was very deep and rich. And I got full on that kids bowl which many places don't even offer. The bread was very flaky and he gets it from a Houston Baker. The vegetables were also properly pickled unlike a place in New Braunfels, where I couldn't even taste a vinegar or pickled flavor. I tried to peg him down where he's tasted other good stuff that's close to authentic; he did note that the famous place in Universal City (4) and soon-to-be New Braunfels was very good. read more

On our way out of town and during the COVID 19 pandemic you never know why will be open or how it will be. I called ahead to make sure they were open for dine in. Grilled pork spring rolls were great. I am partial to tendons in my pho, but they were not available today, so I ordered chicken pho. Lots of chicken breast and the broth was delicious. Hubby got flank steak and round steak pho, which he said also was delicious. He also loves Vietnamese coffee (Cafe Su Da) and was happy to see that they serve it with the French press. Sooo good! Ate here for the second time on our way back from out of town. The owner talked to us and let us know to try the meatballs(I usually won't eat them). They were awesome, not like any others I have tried. He also said if I let him know ahead of time him would make sure I got tendons and oxtail. Apparently Seguin has not quite discovered the joy of these. Try them Seguin!!! We loved the pho so much we will drive the 3 hours from home to eat here for lunch! read more

So my friend was just recently fired from this so called "establishment". The owners Nina and Wayne are horrible to their employees. I've walked in on Nina and Wayne yelling at my friend because of their poor communication. Nina will tell her to do one thing and Wayne will tell her to do another. They also steal their employees tips and speak to them horribly. Nina walks around in pajamas n slippers and they have their kids running in out of their kitchen. Which is very unsafe. Nina has yelled at my friend for wearing a jacket but yet she's allowed to walk around in pajamas and slippers in and out of the kitchen and serving customers. Nina has served customers with crickets in their food which is very fucking disgusting. They don't sweep their floors at all and overall they're paying their employees under the table. This placed either needs to be inspected by health inspector or shut the fuck down. read more

I'm sorry but y'all call this a Vietnamese restaurant? All your servers are fine. They're very respectful. Management is the issue. One of our meals was not up to par. The meal was barely touched and we asked for the meal to be canceled. Tell me why your owner told our server that he's not voiding it because he thinks there is nothing wrong and decided to storm off out of the restaurant without talking to our party. In addition to that, I understand that this is a family restaurant, but it is a health code violation and extremely unprofessional to carry your baby (who is also sick) while talking to your customers. The APPETIZERS took 30 min. The pho took even longer. I understand that your customers are not primarily Vietnamese but at least train your servers to understand what they are serving. This is not a critique on your servers, once again; it is a critique on your management. Also, we were one OUT OF FOUR parties in this restaurant. read more

I have been to many Vietnamese restaurant and Saigon Bistros is by far the worse. I would like to start off by clarifying that this was in no way the servers fault. The appetizers came out 30 minutes after the order was placed with only four tables in the entire restaurant. When the appetizer did come out, it was bland and very oily. After having to eat the appetizers, the entree came out completely salty and chewy. All the five star reviews I have read prior to entering the restaurant did not come up to par. A member of my party ordered the same entree and complained about it. He asked for the food to be taken off the bill since he took just ONE bite and sent it back. The owner was absolutely furious and stormed out the restaurant which is extremely unprofessional because the owner felt the dish was perfect. He did not even have the nerve to speak to us in regards to the issue. Instead, he sent his wife to talk to us while she was holding her baby who was clearly sick which made us feel felt very uncomfortable considering this could be a health code violation. We eat here every few weeks, and we are incredibly particular about good food. I'm vegetarian, so I usually get a vermicelli bowl with tofu, excellent flavor and texture. My husband is not, so he eats around the menu--pho is his favorite because the stock is made over days (no shortcuts!). Recently, he sat down with the owner for fresh oysters (normally wouldn't trust oysters in Seguin, but we definitely trust the freshness and quality standards of this restaurant). Seguin has a Pho place! The prices are reasonable and they give you a good amount of food, I couldn't quite eat it all. I ordered the cold vermicelli dish with pork and egg rolls. The egg rolls were really tasty! And the pork was perfect: well seasoned and with yummy, crispy burned edges and crunchy browned garlic. Will definitely be back. Update: Came back and tried the Pho. We recently moved here from Los Angeles and I was really impressed since the broth is better than lots of pho places in LA. It had more depth of flavor and balance. Pleasantly surprised. read more

The service my family and I always receive here is absolutely phenomenal. We LOVE Saigon Bistro and have yet to encounter another restaurant in Seguin with better service and attention to detail. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate about their work. The food is authentic and always fresh. Stopped by here for dinner tonight. I ordered the tofu and veggie stir fried noodles. They tasted good and both owners stopped by and the food server was very good. She kept our waters full and my green tea refilled. The only complaint I have was that children were in and listening to their screens with no headphones so that was a bit irritating. Vietnamese egg rolls are to die for! Combination fried rice and the is Pho yum! Update* As often as I come to this place you would think that you would get an ounce of respect! Friday afternoon I picked up some pho and eggrolls. I asked them for extra lime and the child behind the register said that they would have to give me an additional container holding the toppings for the Pho because they didn't have cut up lime. When I got home I only received Pho, the noodles in a container and two smaller containers with the additional lime and toppings and NO eggrolls! I called them when I got home to tell them and they said they would complete my order w/ extra eggrolls next time I came.... Today only 3 days later they say they reviewed cameras and said I did receive my eggrolls! I Did not! I am not dishonest and I am mad. Whatever you THINK you saw me take out was NOT eggrolls!!!
