Tried Saigon Bento for the first time today. I can't say much about service since we placed our own order on a kiosk and a robot brought us our food (except for the phõ). I ordered chicken pho, and it was a little spicy, which I was not expecting. But still was very good phõ. My husband got their only bento option, which was like $18. I was a little hesitant but had high hopes. In the end it was 4 small ribs (see pic), although my husband said they were really good. Overall, food was good, but $37 for a bowl of pho and bento box only seemed a little pricey IMO. Honestly I think I'd rather have Soy and Spice down the street. read more

Ordered the Jurassic pho today,i always order the same order when i go for pick up. Got home the beef rib was super light than other times as far as meat and the meat wasn't edible like chewing gum as well as the rest of the rare steak, plus the meatballs was cold and and raw and the noodles were super hard to break thinking they had heated the meal enough to eat but was very dissatisfied,So i went back for a refund the the female employee Wynn looked at my bowl dismissed me said i have eaten most of the food and then the hispanic man who only speaks spanish told me i was right when he looked at my bowl and that i have not eaten not even half way but a less than a quarter of the expensive $21.60 bowl, well I proceeded to ask for my refund she said it will arrive in 3-4 business days i asked for proof that i was getting a refund with a receipt .Wynn was getting my refund without a receipt, she told me she cant but if i didn't receive it to come back,i said as a matter of fact let me get my refund back in cash like other food restaurants do,but no she said i got too aggressive for asking it that way..i spoke to her with a firm tone and then i couldn't believe my ears she said she was calling the cops on me???! For what?! For a refund? If this the type of people who would try to throw people in jail for a refund this business needs go reevaluate who they're hiring,im very offended and very disappointed and upset.i lost my appetite and feel embarrassed she put me through this horrible situation. read more

Definitely one of the best Pho places in town. I came here a few times in the past with my husband and we both enjoyed it very much. They had quick service and their staff had always been super friendly! The restaurant has a fun robot that delivers drinks which I've never seen at a restaurant before. They have a large variety of teas and plenty of options on their menu besides pho. I just wish we lived closer or else we'd be there weekly! read more

Idk if it was just the long drive from Vegas or it being the only well-Yelp-reviewed restaurant otw home but food was bomb! Having enjoyed multiple Vietnamese restaurants in San Jose, I believe this Vietnamese joint at the middle of Bakersfield is on point with its menu. Their menu is small enough to have delicious options yet varied enough to satisfy different cravings. Apart from the egg rolls I wished to be crunchier, my vermicelli combo was very satisfying and my girlfriend's jurassic pho was quite hearty. The garlic noodle bowl with grilled chicken was slightly on the charred end for me but my brother liked it. I think it's quite clever of them to have garlic noodle bentos/bowls! Considering the location and the proximity of other Viet restaurants, 5 stars! Oh and they have boba too! Only got the passionfruit limeade tho but it slaps! Like quite literally with the tang haha. I do think they need to work on sit in service cause being partially a boba shop, some things are either offered by the server or available for self service. With the intention of sitting in, ended up pre-paying at the counter versus other customers offered a menu to pay later. Still - 100% would recommend as a stopover back to the Bay Area from Vegas! read more

The food from this place is pretty amazing. The soup from the pho is so flavorful. I didn't expect a lot of flavor from the beef rib since it looks like a regular soup bone, but boy is it good. also, most pho places doesn't offer the wide flat noodles and display does! I highly recommend this place. Food-5 Portions-5 Service-4 Value-5 read more

Customer service is the main reason why I will not be returning. But, also the pho was very bland...Very disappointing overall.

I'm not one to take pictures before I eat so my apologies! I ended up taking pictures of our finished meal. The pork chop was the most tender I have ever eaten and with flavorful marination that was not overpowering. The Jurassic Pho had a rich soup base that was delicious and comforting. Everything was delicious and very enjoyable! The owner was friendly and very inviting! We will be back whenever in the area of Bakersfield. read more

We came for lunch to this Vietnamese's restaurant, we ordered a meatballs and beef pho and their Jurassic Pho.( a kind of pho that has a big beef ribs in it) to my surprise, their soup was good, beefy and tasty, they have the pay-now-before-service kind of service, where a robot brings in the vegetables to your tables, and the server brings in the Pho soup. It was quiet but later got crowded kind of an ambiance inside the restaurant. We like the pho soup, their beefy tasty soup. The Jurassic pho is a bit overloaded with meat for me. Overall, I will recommend and I will come back to this restaurant for more Pho soup. read more

Wow I didn't realize this place changed owner a year ago. It is brand new. Bright, clean, modern, and a very pleasant dinning experience. The owner is super friendly. The cheerful little robot brought me drink and veggies. I ordered the Jurassic pho. You see this in other cities but I'm glad they are doing it in Bakersfield. A big meat bone on top of the noodles. The broth is rich and flavorful. You pick up the bone like a caveman and go to town with it. It is both fun and satisfying. Highly recommend this place for pho lovers. I do plan to come back to try the rest of the menu!!! read more

Stepped into restaurant the first thing I see is a screen that says order when ready. immediate turn off. Hate automation because it's tacky and takes away from real people doing real work. Ordered spicy beef pho, the beef seemed cheap as in slightly more cheey don't know if it was the quality of beef or they didn't cook it long enough. and had a funny taste to it. and there was a layer of orange red fat floating at the top which after trying gave me acid reflux. the broth was acceptable tasty and savory not the best I've had rhough. The chicken wings seems good at first but after biting into one you could tell the chicken was of low quality plus the wings weren't savory they're crispy with a sweet taste I had to add hoisin sauce to finish them. The shrimp fried rice was ok but the taste could definitely improve. The rice was just plain bad slightly chewy instead of soft. The restaurant aesthetic is ok open layout and there seems to be air conditioning. This restaurant has the little automated robot that brings your food out to you once again I find this really tacky and it's loud and annoying. You have to take your food off the machine and press finish so it can go away so freaking annoying. If you are in Bakersfield I highly recommend maui pho, pho vy, saigon bento is a half baked restaurant no disrespect but a little more passion and love Into the food can help improve it. Wouldn't really go back maui pho has perfect Vietnamese food they unfortunately also use little robot but they'refood is made with a lot of love. Saigon also charges around the same prices as maui but their food is not up to their standards. read more

What a gem of a place. The food is so delicious and everything is so fresh. We came on a slow day so idk if it was why we had such a good experience because the service was fast and friendly! The restaurant is super clean and the tables are supplied with everything you will need! I don't live close but willing to come back again soon! read more

Saigon Bento is a tiny spot with very limited seating. You order at the counter and hope a seat opens up. On our visit they had the front door propped open and it was really, really cold inside. The food, however, was really good. My fiance and I both chose deluxe bento combos, which were very filling. The menu is pretty simple, but the food was well made. We tried the salt and pepper fish, pork belly, shrimp spring rolls, egg rolls, cheesy corn, and spicy chicken wontons so we could taste a bit of several things. Everything was fresh and tasty. read more

It's a small Cafe style Vietnamese sit in or to go restaurant. Great environment but let's get into the food and drinks. My husband says it's a 5 worthy place! Vietnamese Sea Salt Iced Coffee is SO Delicious and full of flavor. Thai Iced Tea is the real deal too. The BENTO : food was brought out within 10 minutes and perfectly cooked and temp was hot which is a plus. The amount of food you get for what you pay is on point. They did not hold back on the meat. The Egg Roll so tasty and full of flavor. Salad has a mild taste dressing which was tasty as well with that hint of cucumber. The Pork Belly Garlic Noodle Bowl was a perfect size with those AMAZING Garlic Noodles. They were not greasy or too buttery so no guilt while you eat them. They have some cheese and a big GARLIC flavor! I will come back just for those. Thank you for such a great experience, service and food. My husband words are: it's a top notch place with a game changer fire Noodles!!! You deserve the 5 stars. Until next time Update: Only three days later and we are back. The Egg Meatloaf curtesy of the house was outstanding, husband says it's like a Vietnamese style breakfast compared to a soft and delicious quiche. Always a treat! read more

I came for the pho. And one thing that I always look for is chili oil on the table. That usually tells me if the restaurant is authentic. They did not have chili oil on the table. Very disappointing. But when I got my pho. It did not give a wow factor for the broth. The broth wasn't rich in taste. Ambiance was okay. Worker did not acknowledge us when we walked in, I was confused on if I had to be wait to be seated. I had to seat myself with the confusion. I definitely will not be coming back. I only came because they had the highest reviews. read more

My first time at their new location, and man, is their pho still so good. New spot is cute and more spacious. They have a kiosk to also order for those who don't want to wait in line for the register and already know what they want. The owner is really nice and my friend who hates tipping will always tip him because of his service. But the real reason we always come back is for their pho! I always just get their regular beef pho with extra meatballs (the owner makes them himself) and they are so delicious. I usually skip out on meatballs in my pho cuz it's so processed tasting, but not the ones here. It tastes like real meat balls seasoned deliciously. I usually add condiments to my pho broth too, but not here. Maybe some sriracha, but the broth leaves my friend and I speechless for a bit that we forget what we're talking about. I like the noodles they use which are the flat noodles, but my friend prefers the regular thin noodles, which they don't have, but he still loves going there regardless because the broth, meatballs and service. Their new boba options are delicious too. I usually get the Vietnamese coffee, which is delicious BTW. All in all, I've always wanted to review this place because I'm such a fan. TERRIBLE Customer Service **Skip to the bottom if you wish to skip details** Decided to come eat here with my bf & planned to meet with 2 other friends that were going to try for the first time. As soon as my bf & I walked in we noticed it was busy so we walked up to the ordering counter and waited patiently until a white skinned, baldish man with glasses (possibly the manager or owner) was finished running the food to the other tables. We stood for about 2 minutes just waiting after the man had seen us walk in and it wasn't until after we stood there for a bit that the man tells us he will not be taking our order and to order on the kiosk instead. We said okay and attempted to order on the kiosk, however we were unable to order our Spicy Shrimp Pho since the kiosk did not give a spicy option of the shrimp (we have had no problem ordering this before with one of the workers at the counter). We tried to check out anyways and see if at the checkout screen a customizable option was available to include that we would like a spicy broth. It did not so we went back to the counter where you order to get the man's attention and ask if he could show us how to order it on the kiosk or if he could make an exception and take our order. (We were only planning on ordering 1 bowl of Pho.) In a light voice as to not further overwhelm the man I said "excuse me" and he looked at me, shook his head "No" and waved his pointer finger "No" at me as if I was a child. I was completely in shock and tried again to order on the kiosk since I could not believe he had done that gesture instead of saying something like "I'll be with you in a minute" or "Did you have a question". I was completely put off and no longer wanted to eat there. My 2 friends walked in right after this happened & my bf continued waiting at the counter to try to get the same man's attention AGAIN to see if we could get his help. We waited about 2 more minutes until my boyfriend had to speak up to be acknowledged and ask "Can you help us when you get a chance?" the man said "give me a minute" and went to go help someone else who had just walked in. By this point we are all disappointed in his service and are debating on leaving especially after his rude gesture. The man finally comes back up to the counter a minute after helping the other customers and does not acknowledge nor apologize for the wait & just says "How can I help you?" I responded to him "You know what I think we're just going to head out.." he cuts me off and says "ok" and I tell him "I understand you're overwhelmed but you were very rude." He's surprised that I had called him out & tells me "Oh well ..that's fine" and dismisses me so I turn back around as I was already walking away and tell him "no it's not fine because you didn't have to respond in that way" but he cuts me off and again dismisses me by waving me out and saying "Ok ok have a good day" so I just told him "I will, thank you" and the 4 of us left. I would like to mention that there were other people working at this time, not just the one man. I seen one other man and heard another voice from the back, and I not once tried to interrupt him while he was running food over to tables, instead waited patiently at the counter until I had to speak up since he would not acknowledge when he walked by. My main issue with this man was him telling me "No" when I tried to get his attention to ask how I could order my dish. It was extremely rude, belittling, & I would have been even more understanding than I already was had he had responded in any other way. Extremely disappointed and upset at this. Please do better, kindness goes a long way. read more

This place is excellent I have been coming for a few years now. The people really care about their customers and it shows

First time trying this place. I used to come to the Pho#2 that was here before. They remodeled it very nicely. Modern, great music. You order in the front and then sit yourself. They took our order as we came in and the lady was super nice. My husband and I got the Spicy Beef Pho which was different. They use different noodles, but still soft and filling. Wasn't too spicy, but has a little kick to it. I wish it was spicier if I'm being honest. I give it 7/10 for the soup. I am picky with my pho. To drink I got the Thai tea which was super good! My husband got the Tropical Passion. It was refreshing and also delicious. I would recommend to try it, their menu has some bowls that I am wanting to try. We will be back. read more

They're so nice they have a little robot and the food is so bomb. I drank the whole boba up the in 10 minutes.

Omg their chicken garlic noodle bowl was everything and more. Everyone would be doing themselves a disservice by not trying it. Chefs kiss 10/10!!!!! Will be going back to try that again, and i would love to try the other items! I only had a quick 30 minutes. But it was fast service with still a little wait like 5-10 minutes but so worth it. As a hungry pregnant woman, my family and I stoped here for lunch. It's our second time here. This visit was such a disappointment from our overall order to the quality of the food. The gentleman taking our order didn't write a single things down and although we were the only table seated and ordering there was bound to be mistakes but we'll skip over that part. It wasn't until after taking out all of the cucumbers and 3 bites into the salad that I became extremely nauseous and overall disgusted. I found what I'm pretty sure was a roach in the food. read more

Came here on our way back home because of the reviews. We ordered the Jurassic pho, Vermecilli bowl, the deluxe bento, and the pork chop over rice from the menu. The pho was good. The only condiments they have available for the pho is bean sprout, basil leaf, lime, jalepenos, siracha sauce, and hoisin sauce. I enjoyed. My aunt enjoyed her vermecilli bowl. My mom's pork chop over rice was not the best. Rice was hard and had a smoke taste to it. Rice should be fragrant and not hard. The pork chop was chewy. The deluxe bento was the biggest disappointment. The picture was promising but the actual product and quality was not. The garlic noodle was hard, cold, and dry. Like it was sitting out on the counter for a while. So was the chicken. It was burnt on almost all the edges and dry. The tempura shrimp was not as big as the pictures. It was about thumb sized. The dumplings were bland. The salad was salad. Ambiance was good because there was barely anybody in there. Is it clean? Yes the seating area was clean. The service was quick but that will probably be only given how the quality of the food was. Parking was not bad but it is next to a gym. If you're here for the pho, okay, do it. The pho is good but I'm sure there's better in Bakersfield. But anything else, it'll be a hard pass. read more

The food is great and very authentic. However, their online ordering system on Yelp doesn't work effectively. When I was notified it was ready, I drove there to pickup.
