First time at a Texan Vietnamese place, so temper reading my review with that in mind. Greeting was warm and friendly the moment I opened the door. Being a Sunday morning, I was the first one in, but the large, airy place gradually filled. I ordered my usual Pho with everything. And as they had sugar cane juice, I ordered up one of that too. The pho was huge. The soup was very hot, which helped to cook the raw slices that is necessary in a good pho to help flavor the broth. But the broth was so sweet that I had to take off a star and leave all the soup behind while I was eating the noodles. There was also a lot of meat. The balance of amount was definitely weighed towards the premium cuts although I prefer the cheaper tendon and tripe. Good for value and those who prefer meat. All the beef was very flavorful with good mouth feel. The raw slices cooked up beautifully tender. The sugarcane juice was a highlight. Delightfully fresh and delicious! If you've never had juice from a stick before, you need to try this!

So so so good! Felt like I transported back to Vietnam. Will absolutely be going back!! Food was delicious. Space was clean. Good vibes. Kind service.

I ordered delivery from Saigon 512 tonight. Everything came out beautifully. Hot, fresh, lots of veggies, and herbs. Loved the portion sizes. The spring rolls with tofu were tasty. The peanut sauce was great. The Pinapple fried rice had tons of flavor. My husband enjoyed the orange beef so much! We would absolutely order from here again and again.

Not sure if it was their off day on the day we went but their noodle soup items were not good. As a Vietnamese born and raised in Vietnam for 18 years, my standard for Vietnamese food is high. We tried this place after reading many positive reviews and we were disappointed. Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu don't have their own unique flavor as they're supposed to have. They seem to use the same broth for both and only add shrimp paste and some lemongrass in Bun Bo Hue. Bun Rieu doesn't have the subtle tanginess of the tomatoes and no crab aroma. My mom got Bun Rieu and had to squeeze a bunch of lime wedges in the broth. The only great thing about Bun Bo Hue is that they're very generous with the meat. You will have meat in every spoon and still have it until the last spoon. My husband and sister got Beef Pho - the pho broth is so sweet. Their menu has a lot of options for Chinese and Thai dishes, which is kind of a red flag to me. Sometimes the less, the better. Sticking to just Vietnamese cuisine and doing it well is much better than adding multiple options from different cuisines. Service is ok. They're efficient and do their job to take orders, bring your food out, and that's it. Don't expect them to come around and check if everything is ok. If you need anything, just ask. There's one lady that is very nice and sweet. The restaurant is bright and clean with lots of tables. I'd recommend them changing the music - they played all the very sad and heart broken Vietnamese songs in instrumental the day we were there. You may want to try their non soup items if you visit this place.

Okay, I came back to try other dishes and was pretty disappointed. Pho: Huge portion with lots of meat and noodles. However, the broth... it was sweet! Usually Pho from the south has a sweeter taste than from the North (I'm from the South), but this one is just too sweet and lacking in fragrant. The only save was the portion size. Bun Rieu: We also Bun Bo Hue and clearly they used the same broth for both dishes, which was very disappointing considering how different they should taste. Sliced pork (which is shouldn't to be in bun rieu), cha, rieu, and 2 pieces of boiled tomato that I feel like they just toss it in there. Bland and pretty sad Quick service, nice people. If you're Viet, you will be disappointed to have their Pho and Bun Rieu

My hidden gem! This is authentic Viet comfort food for a reasonable price. Never a long line and the food comes out so fast and fresh. The staff is kind and the ingredients taste high quality. A great option for casual Asian food. Will continue coming here regularly!

Love their food. The only thing I have problem with is why do they have problems with even when I other food Togo in Vietnamese and they still gets it wrong or just want to make more and charge more which I don't want certain things because I don't like specific certain things. Please don't put it in and charge it. Not the first time. Still going but. I keep telling them.

"Want to meet for dinner?" Absolutely. "Where?" SAIGON 512, of course. Great service, fabulous food, quiet enough to talk. Recently they have added some new specials that sound great. I wish I had thought to take pictures of the new supplemental menu, but I was tired and hungry and was thinking only of how to decide what to eat. Love this place!

My vietnamese friend ordered me something that was not on the menu. Came out this huge pork plate with fresh side veggies. I don't know what it's called but it was deliciously marinated pork meat. It's a good leftover too!

I appreciated they have some of the most authentic Viet dishes on their menu and I think they might be the only restaurant doing it alright in the area. We ordered Bot Chien and Bun Dau Mam Tom. Food was ok, not exceptional but still pretty ok with the price range. Bot Chien was missing the special sauce on the side and the vermicelli in Bun Dau was a bit dried and broken. The sauce and meat + tofu in Bun Dau were pretty good. Service was quick and friendly, they forgot the sauce for the Bot Chien but they gave us the sweet fish sauce which was ok too. The vibe was pretty nice, we went for lunch but I could imagine this place more busy and fun during dinner time.

My husband and I order these 3 menu items every time we come here - bahn bot chien + bahn khot + bahn hoi nem nurong. These you just don't find many other Vietnamese restaurants here serving up - so delicious! So we're willing to make the drive up here to Round Rock to eat here. (Only feedback is bring your own water because tap water here is very bad, or just order Thai tea or Vietnamese coffee to drink)

Saigon 512 was a pleasant surprise for great Vietnamese food in Round Rock. The location has been nicely renovated into a comfortable and lively spot. The bun thit nuong (grilled pork and vermicelli with egg roll) is my addiction, and Saigon 512 has a really good one. Service was fantastic and attentive. I think my water glass was topped up at least 19 times. Vietnamese food is fantastic, and, from what i can tell, Saigon 512 is absolutely legit. Highly recommended. read more

We drove over an hour to this place because of the hype. Service could be more attentive because one of us was waiting almost 45 minutes for our food only to find out it wasn't sent. sour fish soup was fishy and smelled like the fridge. pho and bun rieu disappointed me a lot. ordered almost everything on the menu, maybe banh khot is the one that left a good impression. read more

New to the area and this was the first Vietnamese restaurant I tried, and everything was impressively tasty and had great portions. I'm from Orange County, California so my bar for good Vietnamese food is high. This has to be one of the best places I've been. The Banh Xeo was so crispy and brimming with all kinds of delicious meat. It was huge, and so good! Their Bun Rieu specifically was packed with flavor, with an incredible seafood umami flavor. Their Pho had a ton of meat and noodles, and the broth was very flavorful without being too salty. I got the brisket and fatty brisket. The fried rice with salted fish was out of this world fragrant, and came with a huge portion! Definitely would come back. We came on a very busy Sunday night, so they forgot to bring us two of our dishes, but the manager was very nice and apologetic about it and we promptly got our dishes afterwards. Thanks for a delicious meal! We will be regulars now, so excited to have such a great Vietnamese spot near me. read more

it is south vietnamese, the sauce is quite salty by default. I felt like the meat are cheap, processed meat. it definitely a culture difference compared to north vietnamese cuisine. It's not for me though, felt too unhealthy overall. read more

I was really excited to try this new establishment after reading the reviews! The pad thai was recommended to me and my kids had pho. The pad thai came out with what looked like undercooked chicken, very large pieces of green onion, and sauce. The chicken tasted undercooked and the pad thai sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The pho was good, but they they each tasted exactly the same, even though they ordered very different ingredients. The broth flavor was good, a savory/cinnamon flavor. read more

Pricey shrimp was very delicious! Loved the saltiness and enjoyed the crispiness of it. This dish wasn't very shareable because of the few shrimp that was served, I was able to finish it all by myself. To make up for the few shrimp, lettuce and veggies helped the presentation of the dish to appear bigger. Service was fast and ambiance was nice. Bún đậu mắm tôm and banh khot are my favorite. I had bún măng vịt the other day, flavor was good but the cabbage was probably chopped in a machine (short and thick). They should find a better way to shred cabbage (long and thin) only leaving this here as a suggestion for owner to improve. I brought my parents and aunts here about an hour ago. We had 4 Combination and one rare steak pho bowl. The broth was perfect and didn't need any adjustments. The iced coffee with condensed milk was the perfect compliment and provided the jolt I'll need to carry me throughout the rest of the day! Service was wonderful as well! We ate here for the first time upon recommendation from friends. The food was served hot and inviting. Good presentation. We had perfectly fried calamari, Bo Luc Lac shaken steak, Canh Chua hot pot, Bun Dau Mam Tom (my wife loved), Hu Tieu Ap Chau (nice crispy noodles), Fried Chicken Wings. Good ambience, friendly waiter. Food came out fast. Service was a little lagging but the restaurant was full. The only minor complaint we had was the Canh Chua was mostly sweet. Should have been more balanced sweet and sour. Overall we loved the food and will definitely come back! read more

Stumbled upon this place driving by... it replaced what used to be OH HO's. So excited to have a Viet restaurant serving "traditional" Viet food in RR. The first item I had to try was their banh cuon.. it's basically rice flour rolled with shrimp or pork. Many basic Viet restaurants do not serve this. It was legit except the temp was a little cold ...perhaps bc I took it to go. Everything that came with it including the shrimp cake were delicious. I also got a popular appetizer called banh khot. Also, hard to find. It's a mini pancake traditionally stuffed with mung beans and shrimp but you can sub for pork. It was crispy and also delicious. It's comparable to the ones at Bep Saigon but I think this may be a little better. They literally just opened on Monday and had to closed Tues/Weds d/t ice storm but service was quick. The interior is nice and roomy. They also serve basic Chinese food also. read more

I give 3 stars because the 2 serving girls are lovely, but I am really disappointed with the food and the way the owner welcomes guests. There are 7 people in my family. My mother is not hungry and does not want to eat. So I ordered 2 servings of beef noodle soup, 1 serving of braised fish and 1 large sour soup (I asked the host if 1 serving of sour soup is enough for a few people, he said it's mostly Enough for 4 people), 3. cup coffee milk coffee and 1 glass of sugarcane juice. One meal with these portions is enough for the whole family. But the owner kept reminding me that I only had 2 bowls of vermicelli, should I have ordered something else? Even after I ordered so many dishes, when she came to take the menu and still repeated the same question and asked to keep one to order more, this kind of reception made my family feel very uncomfortable and awkward. . If you ask only once, then you can understand, ask again and again like Force customers to order more. Hope the owners can read this to improve the service behavior.
