The veggies in their sandwich section were not fresh and the selection was extremely limited. Didn't even have lettuce. There was meat that had gone bad right next to the other meats. Worst experience ever in a Safeway. Checkouts incredibly slow and no sense of urgency to respond to requests for assistance. Lost my sale.

The guys in charge of produce need to get their heads screwed on straight. They are constantly mixing high-priced produce in with whatever is on sale. For instance, today I filled a bag with navel oranges because they were only supposed to be 77 cents a pound. Then of course I get charged $1.99 a pound because I accidentally put a couple cara cara oranges in the bag because they were all mixed together. That's an overcharge of about 260%! In previous visits I have been charged the premium organic price for apples because some organic were mixed in with the regular on-sale ones. You always have to carefully check each and every sticker before dropping every piece of produce in the bag. This is a problem when the aisles are so narrow that you have to be fast to avoid blocking other people. The Safeway app is terrible too. It runs in the background and tracks my location continuously on my phone until I force the app closed. Then there are ALWAYS several coupon deals I have selected that I do not get. It's so maddening because usually I am choosing a particular product ONLY because I am supposed to get a special discounted price on it. And I am always careful to get the exact product type and size the coupon refers to, so that's not the problem. read more

This Safeway has friendly employees and a great selection of food and wines. This Safeway also has a gas station with pretty decent prices. I don't like that they have different prices for cash and credit, but that seems to be the way the world is going. All in all, though, this is a good grocery store. read more

The cashier Ruben is a gem in your store, he definitely went above and beyond for me today on an item I was looking for in the store and couldn't find. He said I'll be right back and I'll find it for you and he did! I have never had a cashier stop what they are doing to help a customer like he did, really made me feel special as a customer. I stopped by this Safeway today to send two faxes. It's nothing new, I have come to this Safeway and others and faxed, no problem. Today, manager Jaimes/Jamie (not sure of his name), first told me that they do not fax anymore, much to the dismay of his co-worker, who corrected him. I then gave him my two faxes, going to two different places. He gave them to his co-worker who faxed them to the wrong place AND didn't notice that the fax was two-sided. When I brought this to the managers attention, he blamed me. No apology and please pay us. These two are idiots that lack any shred of intelligence and customer service skills. I won't be going to this over-priced grocery store for any reason now. The level of ineptitude is ridiculous. read more

Store would get 5 stars, entire staff is AWESOME except for the meat department manager and at this point the management and corporate. Long story short I shop here honestly every day everyone is friendly and extremely helpful, selection is great the meat department guys are nothing less than amazing EXCEPT for the manager. He is an angry, bitter troll that does not belong in OUR NEIGHBORHOOD STORE. In the past I have attempted to compliment his staff on how professional they are and he simply would shrug it off. On my most recent visit I had an issue and he decided to intervene with nothing but a rude unprofessional attitude took everything I had not to tell him "hey champ I'm the reason that your family has a house and can eat" BUT I refrained. . I NEVER YELP but the GM and corporate have done NOTHING TO REPRIMAND THIS PERSON. So here we are one bad apple has ruined it for an entire staff. I know the whole union deal but how bout at least an apology.. NOTHING. I guess i'll have to go to Frys but such a shame THIS IS OUR NEIGHBORHOOD MARKET and I have to go somewhere else because one person is unhappy in their work and life. read more

This review is difficult to write because it is so mixed. The floral department is one of the best. Greg in the meat department is extremely helpful, the management there is horrible. The store certainly does not represent what Safeway should stand for. I live in Goodyear part of the year and in San Ramon, California part of the year, they have a state-of-the-art store in San Ramon, one which would rival any speciality grocery store, so I know they can do it, the one in Goodyear is just horrible by conparison. Often the food is even old. The people are generally nice, but the management of Safeway needs to do a major update here and fix this store. read more

I've shopped at this Safeway store for almost 15 years and have always loved the clean store and excellent customer service. In the last few months that has changed - I've had several bad experiences that I've reported to the manager without seeing any change. Very often the cashiers talk to each other without even greeting customers, baggers crush items and I've even had to ask them to at least keep bagging while talking to each other so I can get out of the store...even witnessed a bagger pick a (verbal) fight with a customer while waiting for a manager to resolve a problem. I'm just consistently disappointed. read more

Ruben is the best cashier we have ever had at a grocery store. We shop at this location all the time and have always been treated well.

I needed to have a cheese/fruit platter made and decided to add a fruit platter after meeting with Shari in the Deli she is amazing and has the best customer service, they looked beautiful! I had many compliments and so many people asked where I had gotten them. The fruit was so good, the cheese selection was on point. I asked if I could switch out a fruit and it was not a problem I was so pleased I can't say enough. Shari will be my go to from now on!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! read more

I spent a considerable amount of time to prepare a grocery list and load our card with all the digital deals ahead of time so that when my guy went shopping for me he wouldn't have to mess with all the details. Just in and out is what we were hoping for. When he arrived home and I saw the receipt and realized that there a few discrepancies. 1. The digital free egg deal cost us $2.19. 2. The digital bacon deal, $ 2.97 limit 4, cost us $19.00. (Cents may be off). 3. The digital Lays family potato chips 2 for $3.??, charged $8.??. 4. Over charged for chicken strips from deli. Twice the amount 5. Digital coupon for ribs didn't exist, $1.00 off per lb. , he mentioned that the digital coupon did not exist to cashier, Patty, was a bit snarky, and told him that it was there, and did not honor the deal even though there was a sign next to the ribs. 5. Had to use a rain check for deli meat that we received on our last trip, she was annoyed about having to deal with this transaction. Although, probably only half as annoyed as I for having to come all the way back to the store to receive our ($21.00 ) in mistakes!! Appreciate the woman that helped us at customer service. Very patient and professional. We will be back, although I will never leave without checking our receipt. Quite a few mistakes on a single transaction! read more

Went to Safeway this morning for gas, and the first thing I'm doing from work is writing this review. I was so mad/upset leaving there this morning. I did all the usual, put my card in, entered my pin, then when it came time to put my zip code in, I accidentally put the wrong zip code in. The screen then told me to SEE ASSISTANT. So, that's what I did. I walked up to the window and JANICE was not in the office, she was outside stocking chips and things, so right away she seemed annoyed that I walked up to the window when she was busy. She was like, "be right there" in an annoyed tone. When she walked back behind the counter I told her that I entered the wrong zip code into the machine and she basically laughed at me. She then proceeded to tell me I could have just waited at the pump because "it is a computer (which was said slowly)" and needs to re-set. Basically talking to me like I'm some idiot. I got SO offended..like okay Janice, clearly I know it is a computer. I told her the only reason I CAME TO THE WINDOW WAS BECAUSE IT TOLD ME TO! I think at this point she realized that she really offended me and started talking to me like she should have in the beginning. I have worked in customer service my whole life and it's clear this lady hates her job. Everyone else I encounter at Safeway I ADORE! They are usually so so nice. Maybe I just caught her on a bad day, but I left there really wanting to let someone know how belittled she made me feel. read more

Be careful when you order online for a delivery from the store. Double and triple check your receipts to make sure you have all of your items and they are at the right price. I was just on hold for 30 minutes to talk to corporate to get my online delivery order straightened out they over charged me $40! please double check your receipt when your groceries are delivered read more
