What a clean and well-organized store. Staff are willing to help show or direct where items are located and provide a variety of items to their selection. The food is fresh and present in an accessible way. My only negative comment is that the aisles are so narrow that one shopping cart can barely fit down them. I was so excited to find 25 lbs of salt available that could be delivered same day. It is used to treat my daughters dermatological condition. I added things to the order that I did not need in order to reach the delivery amount since we aren't able to leave the house much. I was not notified that that products were not in stock. They proceeded with the delivery and I was over charged. When I called after the delivery was received I was told "you should have received an email." Had I I would have cancelled the order. I tracked the order via text using the link provided. At no point did it indicate that that the order was not in stock. I now have items I don't need and do not have the critical items I do. The management was dismissive and while cordial made no attempts to remedy the situation. Bitterly disappointed. I will never order from this store or visit them. read more

never set an online order for this location. multiple times they will ignore you until you call demanding your order. never had trouble with pickup until I met this location. conveniently the support email or number doesn't work. management just said sorry. nothing to help with the fact that I've been wasting time when I could order at another store and get delivery for free. read more

Bulk items at great prices I like going to Smart and Finial when I need to restock my supply of paper products such as, paper towels, paper plates, napkins Kleenex, or when its my turn to fill the candy jar at work. I tend to save a lot of money when I purchase certain items in large quanties at Smart and Finial. Smart and Finial has large bags fruit, such as apples and oranges. The fruits are always fresh and offered at a great price. Smart and finial isn't as big as other wearhouse stores but it still a good place to go. read more

No, it's not a discount funeral home chain, but wouldn't it be a great name for one! Think Fresh & Easy impregnated by Costco, or vice versa. Modest variety of groceries, beverages, cleaning supplies, and just a little bit more, in LARGE to regular sizes. Need a 25 lb hunk of beef? It's there. Gallons jugs of mayo, big bottles, boxes, bags or jugs of this or that? They may have that in a name brand or one of their considerably less expensive house brands. By far the largest S&F I've ever been in, this store was stocked to the ceiling and spotlessly clean. Bonus points to staff and management who virtually all spoke and asked if they could help me find anything. When I entered at roughly 7PM Wednesday eve, the store was incredibly quiet and all four check out lanes were empty. Within a few minutes there were perhaps 10 or a dozen people in the store, all doing what was apparently family grocery and laundry supply shopping, but the place is well-suited to restaurant supply or non-commercial large gathering alike. According to the company's web pages, S&F was founded in 1871 in Los Angeles, then an town of 6,000 residents, as Hellman Haas, and the store number was one of the total of seven (7), yes SEVEN published in the first L.A. phone book. The cash & carry concept debuted as Smart & Final in Long Beach in 1923, and firm has grown to nearly 250 stores operating under the "Smart & Final", "Smart & Final Extra!" and "Cash&Carry Smart Foodservice" banners in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and northern Mexico, ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 square feet (the Smart & Final Extra!) stores. The firm's web page describes S&F as "the smarter faster warehouse", and promotes itself as a mini-warehouse/restaurant supply store without membership card or fee. You won't find mattresses, electronics, TV's and appliances, jewelry, clothing or computers at Smart & Final, so it's not Costco, but for what it is and what it carries, it's just fine. If there's one in your neighborhood, it might be smart to stop in and compare prices to your regular grocer (but it doesn't have to be final). read more

Awful. Sorry guys- for one, the prices are better at Frys Foods, Wal-mart, Winco, even Safeway has better deals. I like to use a grocery delivery service- and the delivery I received on 7-24 was .. really bad. Every single item, had a BEST IF USED BY (one month away) - even the frozen foods, yoghurt, eggs- everything was at it's max use by date. Very bad. At other groceries even in Maryvale items up to 3 mo use by date are on the CLEARANCE aisle. If they sell food products so close to expiry, I can only imagine the condition of the cleanliness in the back of the store. Shameful. read more

What I came for was a GREAT price on peanut oil and what I got was a GREAT price on peanut oil. Having never been to a Smart & Final before, I will most definitely say that I will be shopping here EVERY TIME I have a party, because the prices are pretty fantastic. I've been coming to this store for 3 years. Last month they did an expansion re-model which I can appreciate, however the service quality has gone down. Being that there has been an influx of customers and a ton more product line, there are all new cashiers and staff. If you're in a hurry, you're doomed. Expect to wait in line 5-10min. read more

I have shopped at Smart and Final only a few times, but I find that they carry products I cannot find in other markets like items used in restaurants, portion cups, for example. At Smart and Final you can purchase just a sleeve of a product without being offered only case packaging. The availability of these smaller quantities is very helpful to teachers, clubs, groups like the Girl Scouts, and small businesses like mine. In my case, it would be impractical and not cost effective to buy full cases of these sorts of supplies. The fresh produce looked fresh and attractively displayed. I enjoyed my shopping experience very much, but I find that the aisles are quite narrow and often have boxes narrowing passage. The cashier I had today was Sally, and she was excellent--friendly and efficient! read more

This smart& final is awesome! Every time I go it's always super clean inside( parking lot need work tho). However, this place is perfect for buying in bulk while also having reasonable prices. Small store but staff is very helpful and friendly and always a short line here so you can come and go very conveniently. read more

05/04/2014 I went to this store with my girlfriend to pick up a few items for this month. At the checkout, the store manger was working, it was a little after 8:00PM. and we were the last customers in the store. Just as we were getting through checking out, the manger turns and says's to me." So why did you call the corporate office and tell them a lie about me? Why did you tell them that I said on, In July of 2014, that I told you, that if you did not like shopping at the store, then you can get on your surfboard, and surf on out". I then said to him, that I do not lie, and that is what you told me, he then called me a lier, in front of my girlfriend, she then said to him, and you are a store manger, and you have no right to talk to customers like this ! He then looked at her, and totally ignored her, as if she was not even standing their with me. This so called manger was never disciplined in, July of 2014, and it took day's for me to get there corporate office to respond to me, even though, I emailed them, and also called them. The manger of this store acts like a gang member, and even looks the part. He seam to be extremely prejudice toads Caucasians in general. It seems as though to me, that he waited to say what he did to me, because all the other times that I had seen him, while shopping in the store, and this night, we were the last customers left in the store. Or it just may be that he may not have received his Christmas bonus because of my complaint in. July of 2014. I do not know what the case is, but I know one thing. He is not going to keep me from shopping there, even if I need to take legal action against this company. From now on when I shop at this store, I will be wearing a police camera. If their was another Smart and Final close to me, I would shop there, or at any other smiler store. read more
