I like this grocery store, but not necessarily in love with it. Their produce isn't always that fresh, especially their peppers. I've even bought grated parmesan that was expired by over 6 months. I am definitely coming back here if they keep giving stuff away! When I arrived at the register with my small-sized cart, I put everything on the belt except for the kitty litter and the package of paper towels, which I left in the cart with the barcodes facing up, knowing they could be easily scanned by hand. The young cashier didn't greet me because she and the equally young bagger were laughing and wildly flirting. It was actually fun to watch. Neither one of them noticed the kitty litter or the paper towels - rather large items in the small cart - and since I was having a lapse of morals today, I didn't say anything. I was really sick so I stop at my favorite place to go buy some stuff that would help me feel better and I've noticed the employee was staring at me like I was trying to steal something, I went to look for liquify and didn't find them so i decided to get Gatorade and I still noticed him staring at me so I'm like why is he only staring at me, and I had bought vita coco drinks which he explained he thought that it was beat box, I'm very upset that I have to feel like I'm a criminal everytime I tried going to my favorite store. All Safeways are the same honestly. Things are easy to find, store is pretty organized and I feel it's one of the easier stores to get in and out of. The parking lot is too large, but shares itself with the gas station, an Italian restaurant, yogurtini and more. Service is ok here. read more

I should have taken pictures. I seen unclean bathrooms in the past,but the one in Estrella mountain in Goodyear AZ., is one for the record book. The men's bathroom the sink was leaking water on the floor. The paper towel machine was missing its cover and barely worked. There was no TP paper to be found anywhere. Due to Covid 19, I went this place early morning not long after they opened. The store wasn't busy at all. When I checked at register, the gentleman at the register was very friendly & I appreciated that especially when we all are going through bad times. My problem was the bagger. I noticed that he put the heavy items to side of the counter. At first, I was confused if the items are mine ( the cart was half empty at that point ). Then, he put the soft items into the cart & put the heavy items to on top of soft items. I was upset & felt like he was doing it on purpose. I spent almost 200.00 so the cart was pretty much full. I wonder why he acted that way. Perhaps it was too much work for him or I am different ethnic group. I brought this issue to the store manager & hopefully, in the future, they handle better with customer service. We've been leaving here for several years & we are beginning to like shopping in this store...what a disappointment! By the way, I was upset & raised my voice to the bagger & Manager. What a horrible shopping experience! I'm not sure what happened to Customer Service, but it is going downhill quickly at Safeway! For the prices they charge you think the service would be fantastic far from it! I don't work for Safeway, nor should I have to check out if I don't want to especially when you have a grocery cart full of items they didn't even bother staffing somebody at the register it's nearly impossible When you have more than eight items. When you do self check out horrible concept I am gonna be taking my business elsewhere. They're not worth it. Not my favorite Grocery Store but it works in a pinch Safeway is not my favorite Grocery Food Store but it's the closest to my house. So when I am short on time, this is the grocery store I find myself at. I can usually find everything that I need with no problems. All the associates are very polite, friendly, helpful, and the prices are competitive. I really enjoy the sushi bar at Safeway; however, I hate waiting. At times the wait can be long. This location is ok and had a Starbucks inside so I stop in when I'm getting coffee anyway but also need to grab something from a grocery store so they get Stars for convenience. You guys shouldn't put the slowest check out attendants/cashiers in the express lane. The express lane should have young quick attendants that know what they are doing. I have been here 3 times. Two times to get one item each time.... both times the slowest ladies were doing the express lane. Bless their hearts but this is managements fault. It's sad when people with 100 items are leaving before the person with 15 items Express means fast and quick. Putting people that are slow at their job is the opposite meaning of the definition which means it counters the whole idea of an express lane. What in the world happened to Safeway? They used to be sincerely friendly and really excelled in Customer Service...but, this store gives you every reason to shop someplace else, even at a Wal*Mart. Select ANY random employee you find in this store and ask them a question, you'll receive some memorized canned reply (that has no relevance to your question), followed with a robotic, "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"...you really feel like it is like some bizarro Twilight Zone episode. If you want a fresh roasted chicken or 8-pc fried chicken to take home, look elsewhere, unless you enjoy eating dried shoe leather (and tasteless too!)... Let's review: Overpriced, darkly-lit store, super dried out chicken, and lack of service. With so many other grocery stores to chose from, Safeway is at the bottom of my list. read more

Stopped in for a few items. I searched the tortilla section and could not find the Mission street tacos in flour, only corn. So I got the fajita size instead. The expiration date was about a week out. Made some breakfast tacos and the tortilla tasted a little stale. What a disappointment. The Safeway Albertsons websites are worthless. After finally working you way into the site the availability of items is usually wrong.

It's my 3rd time on a grocery run while on an out-of-town family vacation here at Goodyear. Hands down, this is the better grocery store than the one across the street. I went to the one across the street, and it was not a great experience. I went to this Safeway, and now I am writing as a returning customer! Safeway has very friendly service, considering it's Thanksgiving week celebration. We are cooking everything up while on a family vacation, to save us time and money. It's so important to have a reliable grocery store. I am content with the produce. I wasn't able to find foods as fresh and decently priced as the ones being sold at this Safeway market. This is why I came back to Safeway! The store layout is crowded, so it makes it hard when all the customers are maneuvering their shopping carts overflowing with Thanksgiving groceries. I wish the aisles were wider. There were plenty of open cashier lines to speed up the checkout process. There were also self-checkout lines for those who have very few items to buy. read more

My wife and I normally fuel at this station pretty much because it is the closest to our house and they carry my favorite David Jumbo Sunflower Seeds (BBQ flavor). PROS: 1. Closest to my palm valley house 2. Carry David Jumbo Sunflower Seeds (BBQ flavor) 3. Use Safeway rewards card for discounts 4. Good gas (vehicles never experienced any issues using Safeway unleaded gas) 5. Friendly cashier, if present CONS: 1. Dealing with the cashier, if there, feels like a prison setup due to interacting through glass, metal drawer and creepy speaker/microphone system 2. Price of gas usually somewhere in the middle of West valley prices (not the cheapest) If you use unleaded fuel, love BBQ sunflower seeds and need gas for your automobile Safeway gas can fill you up the "self serve" way. Note: knocked off one star because of the silly Safeway rewards pricing scheme. If only Amazon sold gasoline! read more
