I like this grocery store, but not necessarily in love with it. Their produce isn't always that fresh, especially their peppers. I've even bought grated parmesan that was expired by over 6 months. Despite these shortcomings the store always seems calm and is smaller and easier to navigate than the "bigger store" just up the road. Less stress is always inviting. read more

Safeway - Yellow Peppers (less than fresh) - Grocery Near Me - Goodyear, Arizona

I am definitely coming back here if they keep giving stuff away! When I arrived at the register with my small-sized cart, I put everything on the belt except for the kitty litter and the package of paper towels, which I left in the cart with the barcodes facing up, knowing they could be easily scanned by hand. The young cashier didn't greet me because she and the equally young bagger were laughing and wildly flirting. It was actually fun to watch. Neither one of them noticed the kitty litter or the paper towels - rather large items in the small cart - and since I was having a lapse of morals today, I didn't say anything. Thanks for the free stuff, Safeway! read more

Will never be going back after having to ask someone to get a monster energy drink from behind the register

Clean store. Had everything I looked for. Great staff...knowledgeable and helpful. Nice beer selection.

I was really sick so I stop at my favorite place to go buy some stuff that would help me feel better and I've noticed the employee was staring at me like I was trying to steal something, I went to look for liquify and didn't find them so i decided to get Gatorade and I still noticed him staring at me so I'm like why is he only staring at me, and I had bought vita coco drinks which he explained he thought that it was beat box, I'm very upset that I have to feel like I'm a criminal everytime I tried going to my favorite store. This was one of the worst experience I had to deal with read more

Is there any management, employee training or common sense in this store? Stockers leaving carts blocking aisles all over stores Male person at deli can't greet or ask for order just stares at you until you say something also can't say thank you Register had 5 customers in line should be 3 and over loaded bags to break fro weight read more

I think we all getting scammed with these prices and same with hanging up signs which you have to really read because the small front will tell you have to buy more then5 products to be 2.99 ... same with signs saying one price like on sale then coming home to look at the receipt saying 5$ wasn't on sale ... also bathroom is so gross I hate going in there read more

To scan and bag $200 worth of groceries by yourself is absolutely ridiculous! Zero lanes open at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. Self checkout is convenient for 1 or 2 items but not your whole week worth of groceries! read more

I'd give a 5 Start to the Girl that Helped me Tremendously yesterday when I went shopping for my kids, I just wanted to say Thank you so so much, but I want to give a one star to the Ginger girl that completely looked me up and down and gave me a nasty look after I asked her for some help at checkout because my Coupon unfortunately was stuck in the machine. Very Rude and disrespectful, Never met her in my life and not sure what her issue was but the fact that she ignored me and walked right passed me after asking for help. My kids were in disbelief, they even knew what she did was wrong. But to her coworker that helped me, Thank you so much for helping me out, you kept apologizing to me when she should've been the one . read more

All Safeways are the same honestly. Things are easy to find, store is pretty organized and I feel it's one of the easier stores to get in and out of. The parking lot is too large, but shares itself with the gas station, an Italian restaurant, yogurtini and more. Service is ok here. read more

I have only Positive things to say about this Safeway!! An All Star Team that is Helpful, knowledgeable and personal! To include the Baristas at the Starbucks lead by Kameta and Jr. A special thanks to Luis and his team for making this neighborhood store my favorite place to shop. Shout out to; Rubin, Lori, Cindy, Jason, Andy and many more!! read more

I should have taken pictures. I seen unclean bathrooms in the past, but the one in Estrella mountain in Goodyear AZ., is one for the record book. The men's bathroom the sink was leaking water on the floor. The paper towel machine was missing its cover and barely worked. There was no TP paper to be found anywhere. And generally looked like no one had done any cleaning in a long time. Shame on you Safeway owner. Douglas read more

Grocery shopping has been a unique experience in 2020. I wanted to give a very very important shout out to a very hard-working knowledgeable and friendly employee named Jason. I really appreciated our conversation & your help today with my cart! Enjoy your trip up north! read more

Average Safeway but weirdly had 1.65x the pricing on EVERYTHING in the store. At first we thought it was inflation but we went to 2 other Safeways and a fry's to investigate. Odd. read more

Due to Covid 19, I went this place early morning not long after they opened. The store wasn't busy at all. When I checked at register, the gentleman at the register was very friendly & I appreciated that especially when we all are going through bad times. My problem was the bagger. I noticed that he put the heavy items to side of the counter. At first, I was confused if the items are mine ( the cart was half empty at that point ). Then, he put the soft items into the cart & put the heavy items to on top of soft items. I was upset & felt like he was doing it on purpose. I spent almost 200.00 so the cart was pretty much full. I wonder why he acted that way. Perhaps it was too much work for him or I am different ethnic group. I brought this issue to the store manager & hopefully, in the future, they handle better with customer service. We've been leaving here for several years & we are beginning to like shopping in this store...what a disappointment! By the way, I was upset & raised my voice to the bagger & Manager. For that I apologize. read more

What a horrible shopping experience! I'm not sure what happened to Customer Service, but it is going downhill quickly at Safeway! For the prices they charge you think the service would be fantastic far from it! I don't work for Safeway, nor should I have to check out if I don't want to especially when you have a grocery cart full of items they didn't even bother staffing somebody at the register it's nearly impossible When you have more than eight items. When you do self check out horrible concept I am gonna be taking my business elsewhere. They're not worth it. They're the only major grocery chain that doesn't have a cashier on duty when the store is open. read more

Not my favorite Grocery Store but it works in a pinch Safeway is not my favorite Grocery Food Store but it's the closest to my house. So when I am short on time, this is the grocery store I find myself at. I can usually find everything that I need with no problems. All the associates are very polite, friendly, helpful, and the prices are competitive. I really enjoy the sushi bar at Safeway; however, I hate waiting. At times the wait can be long. I guess thats the price you pay for a good sushi. read more

Stopped in to pick up a couple things while in the neighborhood. Was glad they have a Starbucks, albeit one that ran a bit slowly for my taste. Store was clean and well organized. I scored a couple deals. Parking lot is kinda compressed and hectic. All in all a good location. read more

At the person who shops her every single day, I encounter the best of the best and the worst. I can say that the butchers overall are amazing and helpful. The deli a little slow at times but always cheerful. Today Kathleen at the self checkout was rude and condescending. Unable to honor one of the just for u coupons (I have NEVER had this occur). I had to walk back take a picture as she refused to go. Needless to say Kathleen should not work in customer service. read more

So annoying the whole time shopping all I hear is "ATTENTION SERVICE DESK 201" over and over and over and over and over. You all need a better system to communicate read more

So I never get the sale prices. I clip the deals every time but when check out only regular price. This is every time since October. I have mentioned to the staff who all give me different instructions but nothing works. I have had to go to customer service almost every time. Price difference ranges from $1 to $15. read more

As per my other reviews, Safeway isn't my thing. Their prices are too high. This location is ok and had a Starbucks inside so I stop in when I'm getting coffee anyway but also need to grab something from a grocery store so they get Stars for convenience. A trend I see with Safeways and I don't know if it's just a coincidence, are their staff is always grumpy. Not usually rude just cold and... Well grumpy. This one isn't the worst I've been to so as Safeways go I'd recommend it read more

The store is always clean. Staff is friendly. They always have everything I am looking for. Love the bakery area, they have tons of selection. The hot food selection always smells good and have goodies available. Sometimes there a long wait for checking out. I use the self check out most of the time. read more

What in the world happened to Safeway? They used to be sincerely friendly and really excelled in Customer Service...but, this store gives you every reason to shop someplace else, even at a Wal*Mart. Select ANY random employee you find in this store and ask them a question, you'll receive some memorized canned reply (that has no relevance to your question), followed with a robotic, "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"...you really feel like it is like some bizarro Twilight Zone episode. If you want a fresh roasted chicken or 8-pc fried chicken to take home, look elsewhere, unless you enjoy eating dried shoe leather (and tasteless too!)... Let's review: Overpriced, darkly-lit store, super dried out chicken, and lack of service. With so many other grocery stores to chose from, Safeway is at the bottom of my list. read more

I really like this location. I have had great service from the butcher to the produce and even at checkout. I couldn't find an item and the staff grabbed me what I needed when I checked out. You guys shouldn't put the slowest check out attendants/cashiers in the express lane. The express lane should have young quick attendants that know what they are doing. I have been here 3 times. Two times to get one item each time.... both times the slowest ladies were doing the express lane. Bless their hearts but this is managements fault. It's sad when people with 100 items are leaving before the person with 15 items Express means fast and quick. Putting people that are slow at their job is the opposite meaning of the definition which means it counters the whole idea of an express lane. What's the point of having an express lane if it's not going to be quick? read more

Great place with great deals. Friendly and helpful staff. Went in for soda pop, juices and ice.

Stopped in for a few items. I searched the tortilla section and could not find the Mission street tacos in flour, only corn. So I got the fajita size instead. The expiration date was about a week out. Made some breakfast tacos and the tortilla tasted a little stale. What a disappointment. On the other hand, the O Organics animal cookies were delicious. read more

I like this Safeway and staff seem friendly enough. I give five stars for one thing and one thing only though, their hot Tuscan Tomato Basil Soup. It is the best in every possible way. Even my little own loves it and she can be hard to please. Prices can be high but if you shop for sales like I do, the price comes out right in the end. read more

It's my 3rd time on a grocery run while on an out-of-town family vacation here at Goodyear. Hands down, this is the better grocery store than the one across the street. I went to the one across the street, and it was not a great experience. I went to this Safeway, and now I am writing as a returning customer! Safeway has very friendly service, considering it's Thanksgiving week celebration. We are cooking everything up while on a family vacation, to save us time and money. It's so important to have a reliable grocery store. I am content with the produce. I wasn't able to find foods as fresh and decently priced as the ones being sold at this Safeway market. This is why I came back to Safeway! The store layout is crowded, so it makes it hard when all the customers are maneuvering their shopping carts overflowing with Thanksgiving groceries. I wish the aisles were wider. There were plenty of open cashier lines to speed up the checkout process. There were also self-checkout lines for those who have very few items to buy. read more

The Safeway Albertsons websites are worthless. After finally working you way into the site the availability of items is usually wrong.

My wife and I normally fuel at this station pretty much because it is the closest to our house and they carry my favorite David Jumbo Sunflower Seeds (BBQ flavor). PROS: 1. Closest to my palm valley house 2. Carry David Jumbo Sunflower Seeds (BBQ flavor) 3. Use Safeway rewards card for discounts 4. Good gas (vehicles never experienced any issues using Safeway unleaded gas) 5. Friendly cashier, if present CONS: 1. Dealing with the cashier, if there, feels like a prison setup due to interacting through glass, metal drawer and creepy speaker/microphone system 2. Price of gas usually somewhere in the middle of West valley prices (not the cheapest) If you use unleaded fuel, love BBQ sunflower seeds and need gas for your automobile Safeway gas can fill you up the "self serve" way. Note: knocked off one star because of the silly Safeway rewards pricing scheme. If only Amazon sold gasoline! read more

Their butcher shop is the best. Always well stocked and clean. The young man who seems to be in charge is hard working and attentive. I don't go anywhere else for meat. I've tried other places and they just don't compare to the quality here read more

Good, clean grocery store. The produce was all pretty fresh, and they have a great selection of wine!!

I ordered a simple cake for my daughter for her 2nd birthday, and they put strawberry filling in it, even though I asked for no filling. I always order from Safeway and I was very disappointed. I will not be ordering from here again. read more
