I rarely give 5 stars but I have been shopping here for 13 years. I know it's not the fanciest Safeway but after 13 years I know exactly where to find everything I need. The staff is super friendly and when lines are getting long they always come and open a new one. I am writing this because I will be moving soon and I will miss this Safeway full of familiar faces and grocery items where I know their places. I love the gas discounts here! The Just 4 U online coupon program saves me loads of money. It's so cool because it tailors the discounts to the items you like. I was uber- Impressed with the pharmacy last Saturday. I was on my way to Winter Park and needed to pick up my prescription last minute. I called them when I was driving by the Evergreen Lake. The nice girl on the phone said, "when are you coming"? I said," I am on my way." She said, "we are really backed up but I will see what I can do." I arrived five minutes later thinking I would need to wait but when I went to the register it was ready and waiting for my arrival. Wow! Thank you! It takes a lot to impress me however when you have stellar people working for a company I think it should be recognized and because I feel at home in this Safeway It gets a 5 star rating. It may not have the make your peanut butter bar like the Conifer Safeway but I feel quite at home in the smaller Evergreen store filled with friendly smiling faces. read more

I made the mistake of asking if there was ice in the outside receptacle at checkout and pretty much got chewed out by the lady in the black vest who I can only assume is a store manager because she had made some hand written construction paper signs that I didn't notice on 7/22/26 at 10am. My god... Apparently, I should be treated like an *insert vulgarity here* for asking. This place is crazy. As you can see, I don't make many Google reviews. Only if a place is really, really good, or really, really bad. This place is bad. It's unfortunate because it's much closer than King Soopers but I don't think I've ever been to a grocery store with meaner, nastier, people working there than this Safeway. After this experience, I don't care if it's four times further, I'm going to King Soopers for now on. read more

The pharmacy has really gone downhill. Pharmacist wouldn't take care of my husbands prescription. Had to have 2 doctors call it in. Very unprofessional. Second issue they do not seem to have many of the drugs on hand. Oftentimes state it will take a couple days to fill. Worst pharmacy I have had to get prescriptions from. When I travel I get them out of state with no problems. Management needs to take a look at their Pharmacy and make some personnel changes. I hadn't read the other reviews before posting this. I now know most people in the community rate it a 1 as well. Corporate management needs to audit this location and make some changes. Starting in the pharmacy. read more

I am writing this because I have sent messages to the corporate office more than once and apparently there's nothing to be done. ?? The staff at my Safeway in Evergreen Colorado is fantastic. The store looks great and it's conveniently located. The problem is the damn electronic coupons. Half the time I have trouble opening the app because of the stores Wi-Fi. When I do, it's so complicated to figure out how to add the coupons that I end up asking the clerk to just give me the discount. It will scan and say no offer available when there is one. It won't scan. I have literally never tried to do it without a hassle. I would pay half of the discount to not have to deal with this, but it's too frustrating to just pay full price because the system is so messed up. Please please please give us an option to get that discount without dealing with this technology mess! read more

It twas a June evening. One I've grown very fond of in the months prior. Hunger was setting in. This dining location was one of the few available, acceptable, and currently open locations. We picked up some delectable SPECIAL EDITION banana nut cheerios. I enjoyed them in the moment and with breakfast for several days to come. Not only was Safeway a convenient , but it a healthy alternative to the otherwise caloric competition. I would like to thank the corporation for providing such a simplistic option. The only reason this location is not receiving 5 stars is the danger of the parking lot. It's parking lots reputation precedes its self and is extremely notorious to locals. Beware men opening your trunk to get you to get out and look and the threat of potential abduction. Overall though: solid. read more

This place couldn't care less about their customers if they tried. I went to use the restroom which was unlocked and had no signage on it and I got screamed at by an employee and told I couldn't use it because there was water on the floor. Then they told me I couldn't use the other restroom either because they were keeping it open only for employees. Not only is this behavior extremely rude and uncaring. It's HIGHLY ILLEGAL to keep customers out of your only working bathroom in a grocery store. I will be calling corporate about this issue. read more

The ladies who work in the bakery are very good bakers! The men who organize and look over the fresh produce section do a good job! The fresh produce is excellent. The butchers in the meat department do a good job and are helpful. The prepared food and sushi are good. They have vegetarian food. Nearly all of the check-out people are friendly and nice. They hire people with disabilities, which I highly recommend. The store is very clean with nice, new flooring. The discounts for gas are very helpful. I shop at the Evergreen, Colorado Safeway regularly. The only problems I see are: 1) sometimes the youth moving the shopping carts are rude and don't always clean them, and 2) each week there are more and more sub-standard Safeway-owned products, with eventually seeming to do away with better brands of the same products. read more

The store is clean and has good variety, but the older, heavyset woman at the deli counter with the long braid is always incredibly rude and nasty. If you're that miserable, find another job. Don't take it out on strangers that are not rude to you. I'm finally done getting cold cuts there. They are much nicer and more efficient at King Soopers down the road. read more

The workers here are amazing! However, there is a red headed kid who works here that I have seen be incredibly rude to customers. Today he decided to call myself a "stupid f***ing b****." This is absolutely unacceptable! I didn't even do anything, I just simply got out of my car and he yelled it at me! Avoid this marginal Evergreen Safeway. Shop the King Supers in Bergen Park if you desire real customer service and better pricing. Whenever I attempt to shop at a Safeway store, I leave disappointed and appreciate King Soopers even more. I am a vision impaired senior who needed help checking out but did not get it and left empty-handed. On the same visit, I was also refused a booster shot at their 'we don't care" pharmacy. Covid shots at Safeway is a scam. When I complained to the store manager about my unpleasant visit, he laughed at me. This store lacks professional leadership. read more

I am very disappointed after shopping in the store on 10/21/20 to find several people not wearing masks. Not only that but they were having a very friendly conversation with store workers. I think I will not visit this store in the future. This store's acceptance of non mask wearers provides for a hostile shopping experience for those of us who are trying to be safe and keep others safe. read more

I have lived in Evergreen all of my life and try to support Safeway because it has more of the local feel. However, I am done! Every time I go there there is no fresh produce. I have discussed it with the managers who blame it on the staff. It is a mess. Now the bakery suffers the same issue. The "fresh" bread is not fresh... the donuts look like day olds... I could go on. I have been standing in the isles with other frustrated customers that say the same thing... NO MORE! One day we will all talk about how Safeway close and blame it on Walmart or King Soopers... when in fact it will be because of poor management. We need a Sprouts in Evergreen. read more

Do I like shopping at this specific Safeway? NO! Here's why , so first off the "Safeway team" (the employees) are always so rude. They seem like they hate their job, and if I were them and hated my job I would LEAVE! It's honestly a type of environment where you want to get in and get out! For example, i've worked in a well known grocery store before, it's not hard to be nice to others. I went into the store and was doing instacart and the lady in the Deli was rude when I asked her if the item I was looking for was in the Deli. Another time I asked for help and the associate walked away. Now there is one employee, I don't remember his name but he works in the dairy area, every time i'm there I see him working on the cheese isle and will ALWAYS ask me if i need help finding anything. He's so sweet and deserves so much better. If i'm able to I will edit this once I remember his name. Other than that no one wants to help and the customer service associates are just as bad. They make you feel like you're bothering them and never make you feel appreciated. I mean in all honesty if it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't have a job. Keep that in mind. Anyways i'm done ranting, I hope in the future the customer service improves. read more

We have been shopping at Safeway in Evergreen for over 30 years. I am very sad to say but we are done! We are elderly people, with Covid, afraid to leave our house at all. So we got in the car with a grocery list for Thanksgiving Day for the two of us. Granted we are not shopping for 50 just the two of us trying to follow the covid warnings. We go into Safeway and start shopping. We have budgeted for at least $200.00. Which is not a lot but you consider the thousands we have spent in this store. They have Pepsi on sale and we are trying to buy it for the future. They have it on sale for 4 for $11.00. My husband got 12 packs and went to make sure that there was no problem. Well, I was informed by him that they would not allow the two of us to buy 12 packs of Pepsi! What????? Debbie the manager of the shift said no way!!! We have never been treated this way at Safeway. Debbie would not budge. She was very rude. Obviously, they need a change in management!! We left and went to Kings where they had pop on sale also. Not only did they say buy as many as you want, but they were also very friendly and helpful. We ended up spending well over our budget but left with a smile and hope. That if you try you can find a place to work with you in this time of need. read more

Weak Effort. In addition to all the things the other people say, I follow the advertising and sales that are mailed out by Safeway. This Safeway does not seem to know what sales their company is having and do not seem happy to honor the sales offered. Poor produce selection, lesser meat selection, often a bit dirty store. Took almost an hour to pick up groceries when we placed an order several hours prior. King Soopers pickup is much better in every way.

Ordered grocery drive up and go. Said order ready between 6-8pm for pick up. Arrived just after 6. No one answered drive up number or main number. Store closed before we got our order. This is the worst Safeway we have ever experienced. Stay away. read more

It's one of the smaller Safeways and can be very crowded on the weekends and when the college is in session other than that food and fruit is fresh but I do wonder if the prices at this Safeway is a little higher than other Safeways. read more

I do like shopping at Safeway in Evergreen. I found everyone has been friendly, but the bakery products aren't something that I would buy there and you do have to double check the fruit especially the precut ready to go. The fruit never seems good even if you check the date. It is always hard or ready to be tossed out. I am covienced that used old and/or bruised fruit. read more

This is a great place to be called stupid by the head manager where is upper level management I've lived here for eight years and noticed exactly when the new manager took over upper level management needs to take him out the store has it been stocked as well all the good employees left and customer service is become nonexistent if I own stock in Safeway I would've thrown him to curb after I noticed how many of my employees were leaving because of him read more

Unclean bathrooms and boxes on the floor during the evening are not what I expected when I walked into this king soopers. Then I heard the dreaded "get out of the way" by one staff member. This store has gone down hill over the years! It is filthy and the carts are absolutely disgusting!. I always think it smells like bad meat in there. Good luck getting a Starbucks there. They are constantly making them wrong. The Starbucks manager is mean to her employees as well. read more

Safeway is very close to my home, however, their prices are high, and the pharmacy which I chose for being close is the worst I have ever had to deal with. I have one prescription where the doctor has to be called each month for the refill. They have to be reminded to contact the doctor. I am going to switch back to the pharmacy I used before Safeway and that is Walmart. They always contacted the doctor when any medication was due to be filled or when I needed a new prescription as there were no more refills. read more

This Safeway store is great, convenient, not too crowded with the small town, know your name feel. The gas kiosk on the other hand is a whole different story. Used to love visiting with manager scott, and employee John in the mornings on my way to work. They always greet you with a smile and remember your name... Which is a rarity now a days... Then a couple of months ago they hired an New employee. Brady. This guy's a real piece of work. His off color comments and remarks have turned my experience into one I dread. At first I thought my expectations were a little high... So decided not to review until the other day when this employee tried to play "keep away" with my change! Unacceptable but still wrote it off as immaturity. Then yesterday I was reluctant to get gas there when I discovered Brady working, but was already committed. Paid for my gas with one dollar bills and was welcomed with the "what are you, a stripper" comment. Upset and continually disappointed with his unnecessary attitude I wanted out of there asap. I was then told that I need to be more patient... I was left feeling like I was slapped in the face. I will not spend another cent at this Safeway gas station until the problematic employee has been dismissed. A true shame being that he has negated the other employees excellent customer service. I didn't realize how nice this place was until I stopped at a Safeway down in Denver. The people are super friendly and I've always gotten great service. Seems like for some reason they are always hiring and on occasion, the lines can get long. The store is always clean and well organized. My only complaint is the produce molds very quickly. Literally within a few hours I've had to toss berries. I only buy 1-2 days worth of fruit since it doesn't stay good very long. read more

Even though this Safeway is close to my home, I usually opt to drive up to King Sooper's to do my shopping. Sometimes I go to this Safeway to save time but I always regret it. The items are overpriced, even if you have a Safeway card. The veggie and fruit section is small and a bit lacking. If you like eating tempeh or tofu, don't shop here. I wanted to buy some plain tempeh today but all they had was smoky maple. The lay out of the store is not intuitive. I was looking for batteries today- looking at the aisle placards, they were supposed to be in aisle 15. They were not. So I consulted the main directory, which said they were in aisle 16. They were not! So after 10 minutes of wandering around (couldn't find an employee to help me), I eventually found some up by a cash register. Still have no clue where the larger selection of batteries is kept. When I finally made it up to self check out, I noticed the machine was filthy. Like there is trash and gunk in the cracks, it's really gross. The check out machine itself is aggravating- you can't type in words to search for them, you have to scroll through a list of items. All in all this store needs to be seriously revamped. read more
