The store is great! I love their location most because I can walk there and walk home. Their great at having the same friendly helpful faces I want to see. While I'm sad they have some stock issues their kind enough to say call before coming and we can hold it for you. The common items I love like beans and popcorn bulk are hard to come by but they do right by customers by sometimes limiting the amount you can purchase. They have great way of advertising why their better and what they do to be best. We come here often with kids and staff so kind to my kids always. read more

If I could, I would leave 0 stars. I had the worst customer service experience in a retail setting that I have EVER had! I was checking out with a gift card and the clerk could not figure out how to process it for payment, which was fine because she called her manager for help. This is when the horrendous customer service began to take place. The manager who was a young caucasion male, with short dark hair and a baseball cap ran my card and told me that it was no good and had no money on it at all. I knew that there was still money on it and he was also horribly rude about it and refused to come to any sort of solution or comfort me about the situation. I had to drive clear all the way over to the other nearby location and sure enough, there was still money on it and I was able to purchase my B-12! Thank you to the Hampden and Wadsworth location for actually being nice, and knowing what they were doing! I won't be back to the Kipling and Coalmine location until this young man is gone! But I do still think that his staff does a good job! read more

Service is terrible. They hire cashiers who would rather chat with customers than do their job. You can stand in line for some time waiting for these silly twits to check people out. And if you say anything, they move slower. I refuse to shop here again. read more

Been coming to this location since I was kid! Now that I'm living on my own, this is still the best store to come too! The produce is always fresh, the shelves are always faced and stocked, and the entire store is super clean. Staff is super nice on top of everything. The depadtment management is definitely on top of it and also super friendly if any issue does arise! And the store management is amazing! Kelsey, Britney and Val run a tight ship but it keeps the store running smooth and keeps everyone happy and friendly. Plus the prices are very reasonable for the quality you are getting. Especially since the entire company's standards are way beyond any other companies. Won't go to any other Natural/ specialty grocery store ever! read more

Great staff Very good product selection - need more organic snack options The produce bags earn you this rating. They are awful in every regard. They're small, they rip, and they smell awful. I understand they're biodegradable, but was is the means of production? Is the ink on the bags all natural? I use twice as many of these bags than I did with the old plastic ones. My whole refrigerator shouldn't smell like dead fish from produce bags. Get this fixed please and I'll fix my review. read more

The daft people staffing registers are still there. They don't care how long you wait while they chat with customers and fool around. They don't respond to any sense of urgency by a customer, knowing that their glacial behavior is an accepted norm at this store. In fact, once they know you're trying to get home with your ginger ale to the 3 sick people who kept you up all night, they move even slower and admit it. They should be fired, and in a real business, they wouldn't have gotten a job at all. All of the complaints to management fall by the wayside. Customer service just doesnt matter. BTW, as a public service note, if you are slow, dumb as a bag of hair, passive aggressive and rude, be sure to apply at Natural Grocers, because I'm positive you'll get the job and fit right in. read more

So this review is for the eggs and milk... I do buy other items here, but I always come here for eggs and milk. If you sign up online you can get Cage Free Organic eggs for $1.99 dozen. They also carry Grass Fed Organic Cold Pasteurized milk that is absolutely delicious! The whole milk has a layer of pure cream that comes to the top. The quality is unbeatable. They also have a great selection of vitamins and supplements, many of which are not available elsewhere. The staff is always knowledgable and helpful. My local store is the Kipling/Bowles location, but I have found that they all carry the same level of service and quality. read more

The best store with the best people! I love the care they put into keeping the produce and other items fresh, as well as everyone's willingness to help you find a particular item! Once I asked if they sold something and they did not, however put a shipment in for one case to see if other people would like it too. That is totally going above and beyond for their neighborhood. When they first changed to the new, compostable produce bags it was really frustrating. They wouldn't open unless I tore a chunk out of the top and found the two edges. Lately, though they have improved. I do think that lettuce gets wilted in them unless I put them inside a normal bag at home. This Natural Grocers has the best produce department of any Natural Grocers. Anyway, I give them a good rating because I can trust the products. I know they have done the research on supplements and food before they sell it. The people are knowledgable and friendly, and unless you have heard Julie laugh, you've really missed out! read more

Meh. Not the best place. Prices are way more than other stores in the area. The commercials for Natural Grocers are SOOOOOO stupid, I can barely watch them. Honestly, they make me never want to go there. I think whomever does your advertising needs to be fired...unless they are family members of the owner or something? Staff is somewhat helpful, but really I only go here when I need to get an item that isn't sold elsewhere. The smell of the place is also somewhat off-putting. I have visited the Natural Grocers both when they were located off Simms and Ken Caryl and now at their new location on Kipling. I like the broader selection of grocery items that the old location did not seem to have room to accommodate. The supplements still occupy a larger selection than it should if you want to call it "Natural Grocers". Again, bigger than at it's last location but it cannot compete in terms of food / grocery selections that the other major natural food store has, and I don't know that it needs to on that level. However, I was surprised that the grocery area was not larger. It was a new building so it just seems that the focus is more on homeopathic items and supplements than grocery. On another note, it seems that they have increased the attractiveness of making the store a bit of a "coffee" shop atmosphere where you might linger a bit with their table and window bar area at the front of the store. This is a welcome improvement over some of the other locations in this chain in the metro area. I will say that the reason I do like the store is that the staff has always been very helpful and they are not hung up on their image as 'natural' grocers so there is no attitude from the people working there. I like that a lot. I would have graded the store a bit higher if the grocery options had been greatly improved, however I am certain this is the more costly aspect of their business and the supplements are where the profits are being generated. read more

This is my favorite store these days! I love the makeover and they seem to have a great mix kept well in stock! I like the new organization and the long-time staff is awesome! I feel so lucky this is my local store. Great selection of paleo, vegan, keto and all kinds of specialty products. LOVE this place. I am so glad that we have a hometown hero in Natural Grocers at Vitamin Cottage. Great only organic produce selection, beautifully tended by a great employee named Doug! But seriously the whole staff at this particular location is stellar, always a smile and happy to help attitude. My favorite part is the free nutritional classes offered by the resident Nutritional Health Coach named Charmaine Stockstill. I use to love coming to Natural Grocers, the atmosphere was nice and the workers were pleasant. Not anymore! The last few times I have been in there the cashiers ("heros" LOL!) have been incredibly rude! Barbara S. was my "lovely" cashier this time around. She literally was rude during the whole transaction, but the topper was at the end when she laid my reciept on the checkout counter and proceeded to spray disinfectant on the conveyor belt, not so much as a thank you or have a nice day. It always seems to be the older lady cashiers that are so rude, if you hate your job so much quit, do us all a favor! read more

I was able to find the natural vitamins that I needed. I had a real nice conversation with a checker named Jeff. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the vitamins I was looking for and also pointed me in a good direction for self medicating my thyroid condition. This place has a great selection of natural and organic food at reasonable prices. While some items are very expensive, you can find them at reduced prices on occasion if they are near the expiration date. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the environment was clean and well kept. I was also impressed on the selection and quantity of yogurt they had, including those made from coconut and almond milk! My only real complaint is that they don't offer plastic bags which I find very inconvenient since the only alternative is to pay for fabric ones I don't need. Hopefully, they will fix this in the future. read more
