I wanted a special birthday cake for my friend, so I called and spoke to Cody at the Safeway bakery. Cody was very knowledgeable as I went over what I desired for the cake. He filled me in as to what might be available. I was able to put in my final thoughts and requirements for pick up time, etc.. Picked the cake up yesterday and it was amazing! White cake with apricot preserves and fresh sliced strawberries for the filling. Buttercream frosting with colorful flowers on top and also cascading down the side. I do everything I can to avoid Safeway. I really suggest avoiding this one. The parking lot is terrible. The store's layout makes no sense at all. Everything is out of order so it never fails that I'm going all over the place to get certain things. Example there's literally three different sections depending on what dairy products you need. Another example groceries and cleaning supplies are mix matched and literally everything is so separate that it's impossible to guess where stuff is without asking. read more

Sometimes I like to go to grocery stores to get lunch from their hot foods section. I was in the area and found something that was appealing. After checkout I went back to the hot foods section to ask the clerk for a fork and he loudly and very rudely said" we dont have forks here! " I was startled, confused, and taken aback from his very unprofessional behavior most every place I go to for lunch usually has disposable utensils and other condiments. A simple "sorry we dont have those here" would have sufficed. read more

This Safeway in general is better product-wise but their customer service and cleanliness are both pretty bad. The pharmacist who works there on the weekends is absolutely the worst with regards to building a relationship with customers. Their deli area is usually pretty dirty with old cold cuts sitting on the slicer. In this case, full cold cut slices were on the slicer while she was going to slice up my order. I asked her to remove the old turkey and other full ham slices sitting on the slicer and to please clean it before using it for my order. One of her co-workers piped up and tried to justify the mess by saying they were busy, but yet when I was there, no one else was there. So they had time to clean things up but chose not to. I would also think Safeway would have rules about not leaving old meat on a slicer while slicing new meats, especially if the old ones were sitting there for awhile...what about possible bacteria growth? read more

A grocery store could not be better than this one. It's is off Broadway and Mineral in Littleton. Customer service and friendliness from the entire team of employees at this Safeway cannot be beat. Everyone has a "can do" attitude, which obviously is modeled by the store manager, who is as positive, hands-on, and helpful as one can be. Employees here went above and beyond during COVID to make sure the store was stocked and drive up/online orders were filled quickly and correctly. Having the Safeway gas station right here is a huge bonus. I frequently get $1/gallon off when I fill up my car with the Safeway rewards system. If you're new to the area and are deciding which grocery store to make yours- Safeway or the one across the street- it's a really easy decision. read more

I have been a loyal shopper of this store and location, until recently. Based on the store's return policy that I reviewed carefully prior to a recent shopping trip, I read that the store has a flexible return policy for refund as long as I kept the receipt. I hosted a family dinner party over the weekend and I ended up returning a few items that were not used. I went into the store on February 27th. Penny, Head Clerk, processed the return. However, she did so with the absolute worse attitude and customer service!! First thing out of her mouth was, "do you realize all of this will be thrown away?" After replying that I was not aware of that, I mentioned I was returning them as I did not end up using them for a family dinner party nor would I use the items at home, so it would go to waste. I expressed that I'm sure this could happen to anyone, including her, to which she replied, "yeah, and I would just keep them." This left be beyond upset. It was basically an attack on a customer. I came to return items with good intention, not knowing food is just thrown away. I told her that how she was behaving was absolutely uncalled for. Though she ended up apologizing, likely because I called her out, the damage was done. I will be writing to the Corporate office about this incident. I had ANOTHER horrible experience with your Safeway Deli at 181 W Mineral Ave Littleton CO 80120. I ordered 150 pieces of chicken for an event to be picked up at 10am on Saturday July 8. I called & placed the order 3 weeks on advance to give them plenty notice for such a large order - I called again on Monday July 3rd to confirm order & again on July 7th - I sent other club members to get the chicken at 10am as scheduled & was told that they had not even started cooking our order - was told to come back in 45 minutes (my event started at 11am) - I called the store to try to rectify the situtation as was shuffled around to various people who offered NO HELP - the management at this store needs to learn customer service - I am not talking about a $10 order it was a $180 order. We finally received our chicken 1 hour later & they offered us a $5 coupon - I will NEVER use this Safeway again - I will let everyone know about my horrible experience at this location.Next year we will seriously look at another store ie King Soopers, Walmart etc as you all cannot handle orders of that large amount. My favorite store. There is a King Soopers less than a mile from me. This Safeway is a couple miles from me - I make the trek to Safeway on Mineral & Broadway because it's worth it. So much selection and they carry alcohol. Service is awesome - from the pharmacy to the butcher department to all my favorite cashiers. Frank, Tyler, Gina, Shery (sp), Jeanne, Savanah - all very personable. Jose always has a smile on his face. I know I'm forgetting some but this place is awesome - if there could be a grocery store version of the bar 'Cheers', this is it. read more

I love Starbucks but I have to say customer service is terrible. There's two girls working one medium brown hair standard height and the other short blonde hair tall which had an attitude and seem pretty racist. I went to order my drink and want to add pumpkin cold cream to my psl latte and she give me an attitude and says you know that extra right! And YES of course I know it extra. Then I went and order a kids hot chocolate but I wanted grande and she gives me another attitude and said your going to be charge a grande you know that right?! And YES I know. Why would I ask for these not knowing I will be charge for it. I don't know if it the way I'm dress or my race but she was completely anal towards me and making side comments about us to the other girl and laughing at us. I'm baffled by this. And I'm super completely disappointed in Starbucks. I was so mad I didn't get the hot chocolate for my kids and as for the psl I paid for it but did not drink it. Its a full service location, even sells alcohol. But I would rather drive further and get Fresh Food. This location consistently sells produce that is old, wilted, stale, has mold, etc. I have brought issues to their attention but I don't see any change. I finally have to say something about this place. I really wanted it to work; I truly did. And after reading all the reviews on here everyone else seems to be blinded as well. How I am rating them: #1 star = they are clean #2 star = they have a liquor store Now that you see my rating system you will see that 80% of the other reviewers also meant to give them 2 stars. But, what's most important about a grocery store isn't if they have a Starbucks or Jamba Juice it's how they rate as a damn grocery store. And, this place is terrible. A little setup. I do all the grocery shopping for the family once a week. I have tried every store within a five mile radius of this place because I have a few goals: I want to shop at as few places as possible I want to go quickly I want fair prices Now let me pull the wool back from your eyes about this place. You will walk in and see an amazing produce section, fully stocked shelves and unique sections; but upon closer inspection some things become suspect. "Look at that giant display of apples" you'll say, but if you look closer there are only two varieties of apples in one giant display. That may be fine for you, but don't be fooled. The same goes for everything else in the produce section. There's a lot of very little. Every time I have shopped here I have to go somewhere else for a couple little simple things like cilantro or green beans. They'll have parsley, but not Italian parsley, you know, the one people actually eat and not just use as a garnish. You will start to see this trend throughout the store. They are always sold out of popular items, but have an abundance of items people just don't buy. How do I know people don't buy them? Because, upon closer inspection a lot of stuff is close to expiration. Not expired, but when canned stuff normally takes years to expire and the thing you just bought gets there in the next 60 days you have to wonder how long it was on the shelf. I don't like meandering around a grocery store mindlessly wasting my time away. I want in, I want out. This place will never allow such luxuries. They have this "whole foods" style section of the store, which is fine, but it makes shopping awkward. Why? Because they separate simple items into stuff that goes there and the more plebeian stuff goes on The. Other. Side. Of. The. Store. You wanted cheese? Well you'll find cheddar over there you Plebe, but if you want feta, that will be in fancy land. Everything is weird like this. Packaged lunch meat in one section for your basic sliced stuff, but if you want packaged smoked turkey, well, that's a walk to the other side. Again, everything! The Hispanic foods section is nothing but retried beans and salsa, if you want real Mexican spices, well that's in the yogurt section. Why? I don't know. They don't know either. Finally, prices are higher. I shop at many stores often for the same things week after week. This store (and probably all Safeways) costs 20% more. I would be able to justify it if it were really as nice as it appears, but it's not. And every time I have shopped here there are pricing errors. Every time. It's nothing big, like celery rings up at $1.29/lb instead of the advertised $0.89/lb, but it happens every time without apology. So, if you're just into things that look good and lack substance then this place is for you, Kanye. If you're just a good Middle class American shop somewhere else. read more

This is probably the best grocery store in the Littleton area. The meat and seafood sections are well stocked, the bakery is great, and it's laid out in a way that actually makes sense. I've only done regular grocery shopping here, but you can buy hot sandwiches and other ready-to-eat items as well; there's a little cafe area for eating, plus both a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice. Personnel at the various counters and check-out are all friendly, and there's plenty of self check-outs as well. I've had a little bit of trouble finding everything I need in the produce section, but have no serious complaints, and everything I have found has been nice and fresh. Plus: this is the Safeway in Colorado with the in-house liquor store! This means A) one-stop shopping and B) Safeway Rewards on beer and wine. The liquor section is actually quite nice and very well-stocked. This is a few minutes farther away from my house than the nearest King Sooper's, but I might be a convert. read more

Today I switched to King Sooper. Safeway's store manager, Frank, offered to make things "right " with Safeway's free turkey offer. When I was at the checkout, the cashier called out to him 3 times and he disappeared into the locked office. His attempt to make things right was overflowing with resentment and passive aggression. Additionally, I have put up with rudeness and misleading comments from the liquor department employee with a long, gray ponytail. He has growled, "We are closed!" At 5 minutes before 8 in the morning. Growled, "If it's not on the shelf we don't have it!" --when a distributor had just informed me he brought in a pallet. I have shopped at this grocery store for almost 7 years now and the service is just top notch. The managers are always friendly and so is the work staff. The bathrooms are always clean and the store is alway tidy in the ails. You don't wait long in line at the checkout and the prices are pretty good. Also, this place has a really good liquor section keeping many different types of beers, wines, and whiskies. It's a great place to shop and I chose it every time over the local King Soopers. read more

This is a review of the Starbucks at this location. Could someone please inform Riley to turn down the volume. I heard her for the 45 min I sat in the lobby and not a peep from any of her co-workers. Because none of them were so loud that their voice carried to the far corners of the seating area. The patrons have no interest in all her chatter. Maybe the most alarming part of her pratter was her gagging a dozen times while mopping the floor-because she " put too much bleach in the water". This is probably the nicest grocery store in the downtown Littleton neighborhood. It's very swanky inside, always immaculately clean, and having HUGE selection with tons of choices. The price tags are easy to read and the store is laid out in such a way that it actually makes sense! Having both a Jamba Juice and a Starbucks is also a real plus. The bakery, deli, and even sushi bar are also other great amenities, though I'll admit I don't use them very often. They even have a coffee counter where you can buy whole beans by the pound and they will grind them for you right there! Produce can be hit or miss price-wise, depending what's in season, but I always come here for frozen vegetables and meals, meats, dairy, and even beer and wine. It's a very luxurious grocery shopping experience, while still being comparable to King Soopers in price. read more

This is the grocery store I go to more than any other. As far as customer service goes this place is tops. Janet and Frank are both great and seem to be there every time I come in. They also have a recently expanded beer section which is pretty amazing. The only reason this isn't a 5 star place for me is because they (like all other grocery stores with a self checkout) are understaffed. It's certainly not the employees' fault that there aren't enough people scheduled to staff such a large store. I'll keep coming back. In fact I'm going to go now. read more

I really like this Safeway. Nuts case, great produce, cute flower shop area, and this location has the wine and beer, too. Nice cheese case for the better cheeses, salad bar and convenience food area with sushi. Like gelato? They have it. Nice breads, average bakery. They have the gourmet coffee bean area with mugs and such, as well as the upscale kitchen and gifts area. Good and knowledgeable butchers and decent fish counter. This Safeway represents a Colorado rarity - it carries alcohol, and you don't have to use a separate entrance to get to it. The prices are reasonable and selection is surprisingly decent.
