Me…read more I moved up to Gilpin County earlier this year and one of the things I miss about living in town is a quality grocery store with variety, fresh produce, and friendly staff. I shopped at/tried grocery stores in nearby mountain towns, and was disappointed. No checkers. Yukky produce. Low inventory. Often I would return home without the groceries I needed. THEN I found this King Soopers in Evergreen and life was good again! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Alwayyyyyyys! I have a favorite checker, but all of them are good. The Starbucks ... awesome staff and fast. Inventory - I find groceries that I've heard about but couldn't find before. The produce department is always stocked with fresh fruits and veggies, and I always return home with what I came for. Getting here is a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. Once again I would like to say that the staff here is GREAT! I appreciate that I can shop at a quality grocery store with a welcoming vibe.

I wanted to try this place because of the welcoming middle aged woman that showcases the market. Her inviting persona and knowledge of product viewed made me think that a place that does not just see you as a number, is worth visiting. I was hopeful in this approach that once walking in the market this would be my experience. Today after walking in around 10:45am, I was not greeted or even acknowledged. Usually if this happens I walk right out of the business. But I stayed because I wanted to give this place a chance. The first employee I saw looked at me, didn't say anything and continued to walk down the produce area where I was headed. If he had been in deep thought, fine so be it, but a simple "welcome in" or "hello" would have been fine. At this time there was no other customer in the area I was at in the store after walking in. I continued to the back where the deli, and restaurant area was and was not even acknowledged by the gentleman behind the counter working there, although I did hear him acknowledged a middle aged couple several minutes beforehand. Still searching through the market, I intentionally went down an isle where a worker was and decided, to look.for something in a puzzled way of frustration. But, also, nothing. I stated, okay, this cannot be this bad. Sure enough I was not acknowledged and the employee started to walk away. I gave one additional attempt to ask someone for help, but decided not to after experiencing what I did with the other employees. I'm not sure if it is a cultural thing or what, but it was as if I were invisible. Finally I completed my shopping, and waited about a minute to checkout. Another employee working the front after talking with another employee never acknowledged me either. I finally asked was this register open? The employee turned and walked over not saying much and stated yes. Now, long story short, I'm not upset, but more disappointed in the level of acknowledgment and customer service. Could I have pushed more, yes, but I should not have to. Acknowledge your customers, ask them are they finding things okay, or can I help you find something? Passing 3 different employees and nothing is not my ideal place to shop. I want small businesses to succeed not only with likes and views online, but with the very real people that enter your business. Please do better and fix your customer service because regardless of who you are, no one wants to be treated this way.

We asked this very nice lady for advice on what were the best and how to transport. She went to the back room and specifically selected less ripe peaches and boxed them special for our trip. We found many amazing home grown and baked goods yet the real shiny star was the helpful person that we realized upon leaving was the co-owner. You can't fake passion, pride and caring which what we felt at Heinies. Thanks for making our day and reenergizing our belief in American entrepreneurs.

The selection is always interesting, and the quality of the produce is so much better than what I've found at the nearby King Soopers on Youngfield. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they do roast green chiles right on site. The only downside is that the parking lot is pretty small and can get busy at times, but it's a small price to pay for having a place like this nearby. Definitely one of my go-to spots for fresh produce and specialty items!
