Shopped at this store with my husband today 7/18/2026. There was a firetruck outside of store, strange smell inside the store that made me cough. I don't know why every time I come to your store I have experiences. From the people shopping talking to themselves in a zombie like fashion to your employees having some type of grudge match against shoppers and tortilla chip boxes where they refuse to get out of the way so I too could buy a couple bags of tortilla chips. 2:35pm time frame, your Hispanic employee (female) was dripping with hatred. I almost stopped and asked her if she was OK but my husband wouldn't let me. He too feels like your staff is unhinged and HATES shopping your store. For the prices they charge you would think they could afford checkers. Filled up a cart and nothing but self check. I asked an associate if there were any checkers, with attitude said no. I left my cart where I stood and walked out. Only good thing about this store is location. Everything else is subpar at best. read more

Clean, bright, well-stocked supermarket in the Kroger family of stores. (Your customer number will work here.) Stopped in to pick up a few items for a college student spending the summer in the region, and I was amazed at the size of the store and the quantity of good here. Everything you could want and more. I always buy newspapers when I travel - the rack near the customer service counter gave me local and national newspapers. Excellent. Don't laugh - you're gonna miss 'em when they're gone, to paraphrase the 13th Floor Elevators classic 1960s hit. Supermarkets are just supermarkets, but this lives up to its "sooper" billing. I cannot understand why this location can't hire and retain employees. Besides overcharging on just about everything, frequently they don't have their sale items available. Today's checkout experience reminded me of the lines during the pandemic: one cashier and a long line for both the self checkout and the only cashier on duty. I'll drive to the Youngfield store from now on even though it's several miles further. read more

The pick-up team was awesome!!! I placed a sort of last-minute order the day before I needed it. I needed 18 cheesecakes for our company Thanksgiving lunch because our caterer was not able to provide dessert. This review is specifically about the pharmacy. I got my covid shot a few days ago and it was the easiest process once I got my appointment. First, if you are getting vaccinated here the pharmacy is in the back of the store directly back from the floral department. I got there 5 minutes early which was plenty of time. You need to go to the drop off line. Everyone in line should be getting their vaccine if it is before 10am. Have your id and your insurance ready and it will only take 2 minutes to get you from that counter into the seat where you will be vaccinated. The shot portion from waiting in line to getting my shot was less than 5 minutes since I was on time. Please make sure you are on time to keep this organized. It makes a huge difference in getting everyone vaccinated. Bring a book or something to keep you occupied for 15 minutes. You will need to hang out in one of the socially distanced chairs to make sure you don't have side effects. I just want to thank the king Soopers pharmacy team for doing a great job getting all of us vaccinated. It was a completely stress free experience and I really appreciated everyone I came into contact with. read more

Check your receipts at this store. MANY items are not priced correctly in their computer system. I watched another customer complaining about it and management got snippy and rude with him. After they finished talking, I spoke to the other customer to express my solidarity with him and the manager kept interjecting himself into our conversation. When I told him to mind his business and stay out of our conversation he continued to talk smack and another RUDE manager (Tyler) told me I could leave the store. I asked Tyler for his name so that I could complain about him and he told me his name was none of my business and he refused to give it to me. (I had to walk around him to see his name tag because he had positioned himself so that I couldn't see it.) These guys are making too much money. They shouldn't be managers and someone should school them on customer service. read more

Once again, not sure why I torture myself coming to this place. They have over 10 regular checkout lanes, NONE of which are open. Then they have nine self check out lanes of which only four are open. So as I go to check out, there's about seven people waiting in line halfway down the store isle because there's only four lanes of self check out open. That is utterly ridiculous. Not sure why, if you're going to make this store almost exclusively self checkout, you wouldn't open up the other five self checkout lanes. read more

I happened to find out my 80+ year old mother was in your Golden store early morning on a weekday to do her typical weekly shopping. Tyler sales associate with long hair and glasses, working at checkout was extremely rude and impatient while waiting for me to pull up my digital ID because the process took so long due to the poor WiFi connection/ service reception, Tyler states " alright I'm going to take these I'm not selling them to you guys" after my friend had shown her ID as she was the one purchasing them. Mind you we are both 23 years old and were polite and even apologized that it was taking so long. When I finally got my ID to pull up he goes "I already told you I am not selling them to you". Honestly save your time and buy your stuff elsewhere because clearly there is a lack of patience and courtesy from those who are supposed to be the face of this business. I was upset with this pharmacy a few months back when I showed up for the flu shot I'd made an appointment for online, only to be told they did not have the shots. But today, they might have saved me some very serious grief. I took in a prescription my new dentist gave me, and got a call from the pharmacy while waiting for it saying, did I realize that this was for amoxycillin which is very related to penicillin, which I am very allergic to - ?? No, I did not, so they had me wait while they contacted the dentist, got the prescription changed to clindamycin, and probably saved me from a very bad experience. So, thank you, King Soopers Pharmacy!! I don't know who in particular caught this oversight by my dentist but, I owe you one. On top of that the whole staff was friendly, hard working, attentive and efficient. read more

Every time I go here I have to restrain myself from fighting old men who refuse to wear masks. For some reason this is the one store in Golden where many customers do not wear masks. The staff does nothing about it. I've also seen staff members without masks. This used to be our regular grocery store. What a shame. They put a sign out front saying all customers need to wear face coverings. Upon entering, you'll find that nearly every employee is either NOT wearing any sort of mask, or it is hanging at their chin. A nice man is always there on cart-cleaning duty, but unfortunately most carts get put back into line by shoppers without being cleaned. It's great to know this grocer really cares about public health and holds itself to a high standard. Consider any of the other grocery options in the area. read more

This location has seen better days. They seem to have a fair stock of most things, and the store is relatively clean, so it's by no means an irredeemable haven of filth, but between the fact that every time I come in the Scan-Bag-Go units are literally *all* broken, have dead batteries, or cannot sign in to anything (or are in some sort of inexplicable admin update mode that's completely unresponsive) and the fact that I usually come in for change because the machine at the laundromat down Old Golden Road is broken, only to find that between both self-check lanes and the service desk they only have one roll of quarters to go around, it's not particularly of huge convenience. They do usually have some nicer selections of things in the deli, like fancy cheeses and sushi like you'll find in whatever King Soopers calls its superstore variants, but without the inclusion of the dedicated sushi bar or build-your-own antipasto section like the Youngfield location sports. And the staff is fine enough. Overall, I've started trying to plan ahead and have quarters ready to go, between the lack of them at the laundromat and here. And I'll do my regular shopping elsewhere. This location is fine for occasional visits, but it's just easier and faster to go to other locations where the equipment works and they have change on-hand. read more

This is my favorite King Soopers around. It has a good size parking lot, a gas station and a Starbucks inside the store. The gas station is usually busy, but I don't mind because it's the only one near me where I can use my King Soopers fuel points, and if you shop there often those fuel points can really add up so it's definitely worth it to get a King Soopers card. You save a ton on groceries as well. As for the store itself, they are always very well stocked, which can't be said for the one on Colfax. The selections are vast, but not daunting, and everything is fresh and of great quality. Everything is also well organized so it's easy to find the things you are looking for without having to go back and forth between aisles. They typically have plenty of open registers and self-checkout is an option, which is nice if you only have a few items and don't want to wait in line. Overall, this is an excellent grocery store and I highly recommend shopping here. read more

This is my favorite store and I really like shopping here. I do think it's one of their smaller stores but I like it. If by chance they don't have something you want you can ask them tor order it for you. I've never felt comfortable taking things back to the store but I have returned a couple of things here. It's also nice that if you use your Sooper card, they will send you an email if anything you purchased comes up for recall. The staff is always very helpful here. They've recently been shutting down their check out lanes at night and you have to go through the self check which is a pain if you have a lot of items. This last time I was there I found out all you have to do is ask the checker to scan your items with the hand held. Which he did while everything was still in the cart. He even bagged everything up while I was paying for my items. read more

I drive 6 miles out of my way to shop at this King Soopers. I live by the 32nd and Youngfield store (1 mile) and will not shop there. The Golden Kings has the most helpful people, always has stock and always has things I am looking for! 32nd and Youngfield doesn't carry half the stuff the Golden King Soopers has. One star for the customer service experience I just had. This is my local grocery store that I go to multiple times a week. While they've come a long way since the remodel, I'm pretty grossed out by what just happened. I bought one of the single-serving Horizon Organic milk boxes this morning to go with my breakfast. Thank Jebus I noticed on top that it said, "Best before 6 Aug. 2012," today being September 28. I called King Soopers--not because I was upset or wanted my whole dollar back--but to let them know that they should probably take the spoiled milk off the shelves. I was directed to customer service, whose only reaction was a repeated, "OK." I told him that it was only a dollar and I wasn't calling for my money to be refunded, but that they should take the spoiled product off the shelf before someone gets sick. His reply, "OK," followed by a pause, followed by, "What was the product again?" Sigh. I feel like it's my civic duty to stop by after work and make sure the nasty milk has been taken down. Improve your customer service, that was a disturbing experience. read more

The one thing I miss about living in "the burbs" is the better grocery stores. The produce is fresher, there are more organic options, the products on the shelves seem to rotate quicker and the meat selection is better. For these reasons I've been known to come to this KS on my lunch break to buy groceries, throw them in my work fridge and bring them home at the end of the day. Additionally, the store has had a recent remodel, is easy to navigate and has a full sized Starbucks -dare I say the largest one I've seen in a store. So, this is "my" King Soopers. I know some people are against the whole corporate big brother idea of getting one of their shopper's cards, but I think you are a fool if you don't sign up for one! We have saved anywhere from $1-$30 and probably more by using that card. They always have fresh produce and a variety of organic and natural items. Their cheese selection pales in comparison to Whole Foods, but I can always drive over to Lakewood to get some of the more specialty items on my list. Everyone who works there is so darn nice, too. Whenever we see something missing from the shelf or produce bin, we ask a nearby employee (and there's always someone in sight) and they skip happily away to check on the availability. And once, there was a mistake on our receipt (some $8 asiago cheese rang up incorrectly) and when we brought it to the attention of CS, they refunded us and we got it for free! Great customer service, awesome prices. I have to agree that the selection and prices here are tops - from your basic Kroger brand goods to as much as you care to pay for free-range/organic, etc.. I actually had to purchase some medicine at the pharmacy today and the sweet lady that waited on me saved me $2 by a current coupon that was available. The combination of affordable food and friendly staff make my weekly grocery trip a breeze. In addition, the store card is attached to their gas station and I just filled my tank for $3.40 a gallon with rewards! read more

Torture! We spent $400 on our monthly groceries but--warning!!--because we shopped after 8:30 we had to do a full cart as self checkout. Horrifying! No customer service because the two guys were too busy chatting then had to wait through alarm every time we didn't bag fast enough. I took a blank money order, from Western Union for 500.00 into this King Sooper. Instead of telling me right off the bat that they don't take money orders which aren't bought and paid for at King Sooper, they tell me to SIGN IT AND PAY IT TO THE ORDER OF KING SOOPER. After you sign a money order it is like a wad of cash that I handed to them. After it didn't go through, they told me to go to Western Union. I did, Western Union then explained to me that they could no longer cash the money order because it was made out to King Soopers. Then I decided to go to a different King Soopers to see what they had to say about the check.I had cashed these type of money orders before and had no problems what-so-ever. This King Sooper DID tell me right off the bat, that for some reason they do not take these money orders. Why then did the first one have me write it out to King Soopers, scan it, and then tell me it wouldn't work? It is still a mystery. I tried talking with multiple different people, and no one would take responsibility for what they did. I am very dissappointed and will no longer be shopping at King Soopers. read more

I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription for the birth control pill and was told it cost $470.00 for a 3 month supply (and that was "with insurance"). After a sleepless night, multiple calls to my doctor and insurance company, I should have been charged $0.00. What a scam! read more
