I enjoy shopping for groceries and life's sustenances at a locally owned store more than anything. When I was driving on 38th westbound to get somewhere this AM, this store didn't escape my notice (the exterior decals on the glass window was so visible as I drove past by it.) Since I wasn't in a hurry, I made a quick turn to a side street to park my car and went to investigate. And I LOVED it. This store is in operation since 1984. People who live in this neighborhood must love it; lucky them! I have to admit though; certain things are bit pricey but what's great about this place is the fact that they do generous sales on items throughout the store. For instance, a jar of Dalmatia Quince Spread (pear flavor) was originally $6 with some change but it was on sale at the price of $3.99! I had recently run out of a fig spread so I immediately grabbed this one. There is a cafe where they can make craft coffee beverages. Not only that, there is a pizzeria, sushi section, soap/beauty section, vitamins, alcohol section etc. Although the store is not massive, it's a good size where they pretty much carry most of the daily needs (although I'm not sure about toilet paper/paper towels and stuff like that; I didn't need any of those so I simply didn't look for it.) I saw some people sitting in the cafe studying with their books and computers. There were also families with small children eating their late morning meals. It's simply a great place for any occasion was the observation I gathered. My cashier (Sean) was very pleasant to me. I forgot to bring my reusable grocery bag so he asked me if I needed a bag to which I said yes. He didn't charge me for the bag when I looked around the receipt. Thank you! Stopped by to do groceries. They had a lot of interesting food vendors inside from coffee to pizza to sushi. As far as their selection of groceries I'd say it leans closer to a Whole Foods but also like a Safeway. Super cool grocery store that I've never seen in my home state of FL! read more

I am obsessed with Locavore and would shop here 100% of the time if it was in my budget! My favorite finds are their fish, especially the marinated salmon, and their prepared sandwiches. I love taking guests here before cooking dinner at home! They have a ton of vegan options, local items like hot sauces and such, and skincare and fun treats! Their service is wonderful and I always enjoy my shopping experience. I have not tried their trivia nights but I am looking forward to this summer! read more

Leevers is in my neck of the woods and I frequent this establishment often! It's always bright and organized and I absolutely love their prepared foods area. Their sushi area is my favorite of any of the grocery stores in Denver! You can taste the quality in the fish and the rolls are very creative and always have me excited to go back to see what's new! I also love their bar/coffee area! Today, I ordered a pumpkin spiced oat milk latte, because they're still carrying the pumpkin spice, and the barista was so friendly and told me it'd be the best pumpkin spiced latte I've had, being that they make the flavoring in-house. Let me follow up by saying... it was indeed DELICIOUS. I found myself savoring every single sip. I love stopping by Leevers. The parking lot was very full when I pulled up on a Sunday morning. As you can see from the photo they clearly need to get their asphalt repaved and the snow piles were pushed over many parking spots so parking was limited. Not a great fort impression. When I entered I noticed the. Wry limited selection of vegetables. They didn't even have celery which was one of the items I needed. The cafe and wine bar area is cute if you need to meet someone for a refreshment. I made my way around the store for the rest of my very limited list of items. The fresh baked bread was delicious but started to stale after 1 day. If you in the market for cheese and meat this is you place! You Could make an amazing charcuterie board!!! The staff was helpful as I couldn't find a cheese I was looking for because there was so many! LL is a small grocery store / food hall. Located on the north end of "Highland" neighborhood so this would be called NoHi. Why do people call it "highlands" ??? Please tell me. Leevers Foods Boulder started in 1983 and the website says it's 100% employee owned. The grocery prices here cost slightly more than Whole Foods (owned by Amazon). LL partners with local shops, and the market has a butcher,flower, pizza, sushi, Oscar sandwich, and a cafe / beer tap bar. There's plenty of outdoor seating and an upstairs area. My suggestion to management is to change the name to "NoHi Market" because I have known about this place for years now but didn't know they had food options other than grocery. No bakery on site, but they had a shelf with two local bakers: "Sweet & Sourdough" and "Rebel Bread" on Broadway. The cafe has Holliday Brewing and Telluride Brewing on tap. Daily Happy Hour 3-7pm. Great local grocery store that I've been using lately! It has a little bit of everything - flowers, baked goods, beers and wines. I really appreciate two aspects of this shop: the signs marking local goods, and the unique flavors of the items. It's easy to run through a supermarket and know exactly what you're getting. I just got a sandwich from the butcher shop there (Next to the sushi- I got sushi too) and it might have been the best sandwich I have ever had. The turkey was thinly sliced and the cranberry sauce on the delicious bread was phenomenal. I was honestly blown away. I see some people giving Leevers a hard time- I don't think that's fair. & to be honest, it gets better every time I stop in. A month or so ago I suggested getting greeting cards - I had stopped In to get flowers for a girlfriends birthday- and I suggested it to the woman checking me out. Additionally, we picked up a few snacks and sushi to bring back to where we were staying. Overall, this was a nice local place where people stop by to grab a few local items and necessities. Think of Whole Foods but local! Leevers Locavore is a great grocery store to shop at. There are also restaurants (sushi, pizza, sandwiches) and a coffee shop within the store. They provide indoor and outdoor seating if you wanted to stay and grab a beer. They have a daily happy hour and serve $2 IPAs and they usually have live music on the weekends. There is an upstairs area with more seating which is a great place to study or work. The staff is always so nice when I come in. Not many people suggest their grocery store as the happy hour meet-up spot, until now! Leevers triples as a coffee/wine bar, food hall, and grocer. In other words, make sure you carve out time for your groceries to make it an experience. Grab a $2 IPA during their daily happy hour (3-7) before browsing the local selection of produce, restaurants, butcher cuts, and other products. I pass by here every day on my way to work and finally had the opportunity to stop in. We had to stalk someone in the parking lot to find a space which speaks to the popularity. The space is laid out in a more typical grocery store fashion although there were a couple prepared food areas that looked tasty but were initially a little confusing (the hubs thought one was were you picked up cheeses). What I liked was the variety and uniqueness of products. They offer wool dryer balls, eco friendly dishwasher rinse aid and other items you wouldn't find in most grocery stores. The concept is cool but nothing sets it a part to pay a premium on my groceries. It's supposed to be local right ? So why doesn't it feel like it? Can I make a suggestion? Meh to OK. I see very little here that Sprouts does not have. Yes, they have a coffee bar, pizzeria, sushi bar and fancy sandwich counter, but I buy none of those things. No olive bar. No salad bar. No roasted chickens. The bread selection is pathetic. The cured meats are better than Sprouts and reasonably priced. The fresh meats are very expensive and the seafood selection is poor. $5.49 for Simply Orange juice. Are you kidding? I expect a lot of tweaking here as they search for a winning formula. The owner should get on airplane and go visit a Wegmans to learn how to do it right. I was charged sales tax on an avocado. What!? No excuse for that. The floors are much nicer than when it was a Sav-A-Lot. + Apple Pay, but they make you sign. Not good. P.S. They are going to do very well. Leevers Locavore is such a great find and one of my favorite places in Denver for specialty items with a side of coffee, breakfast burritos, beer, and... bitcoin. Yup. Need to buy/sell crypto - there's a spot for that too. I've been in a handful of times and it was on the last trip, while waiting for coffee (after having grocery shopped) that I noticed there's a bitcoin machine in the corner near the ATM. Had it been later in the day, I might have been on the other side of the counter with a beer. The produce section is small so they might not necessarily have what you're seeking, but what is there is quality. There's a small wine/bubbles section and near there are a few in-store restaurants (pizza, sushi, and a meat/cheese spot). The dry goods, refrigerated and freezer sections are chock full of legit items. There's a ton of vegan options (in my non-vegan opinion) in addition to the locally sourced items. Love that there's a butcher on site and a ton of River Bear meats ready to go. As you round the corner toward checkout, there's a strong selection of craft beers and a functional beverages cooler. The staff is always super friendly... and funny. I always end up laughing at something they say while in check out. Long story short - highly recommend if you're looking for something different with ample parking. read more

We live super close so I was thrilled to see a grocery store coming in (deep down I was so hoping for a Trader Joe's). So my husband and I popped in for opening day. Definitely a mix of Sprouts and Whole Foods, with prices closer to Whole Foods. They had a great meat selection, might as well call it a little butcher shop! I believe one employee said it's the butcher for Old Major! So I think we'll come back to try some. But I don't see us coming back regularly unless we are missing an ingredient that we need in a pinch. read more

I love the concept and looked forward to its opening. Unfortunately, I left wondering what the point of this place is. I hoped to find something special to bring to a New Year's gathering, and after walking around for 30 minutes feeling like I must be missing something, I realized, no..this was it. Very underwhelmed. After cobbling together some things to avoid making another stop, the checkout person stuffed everything in one bag, including a meatball and sauce entree, a bottle of sparkling wine, a six-pack, and multiple other products coming to over $100. Came home to a bag full of marinara sauce that I just spent 20 minutes cleaning off the groceries. She was really unfriendly and seemed to be "punishing" me for not having my recyclable bags with me. Love this place for so many reasons. Start with the fact you can grab a coffee or a local beer at the bar before starting your grocery gathering and you've already got yourself a winner. Locavore includes several restaurants in their venue, pizza and fresh sushi to start, both are really great! They also try to source as much as they can from Colorado including River Bear meat, which is absolutely top notch. The produce is all great and clearly really fresh, they also carry Enstroms chocolate near the registers, I can't resist the dark chocolate almond toffee, it's a real problem for me... Overall, really great place, friendly staff and great quality products, make the extra effort to go here instead of King Soopers or Sprouts, you won't be disappointed! read more

So much anticipation surrounding this new store - it's definitely a huge improvement over the Save-a-Lot. Many of us who live in the area were hoping for a Trader Joe's but for some reason, TJ's still evades us :-( On the positive side - Leevers Locavore is a great (small) space with typical grocery items in the center (nothing very special although it's arranged nicely) surrounded by a butcher shop which sells reasonably priced meats and charcuterie items. The meat section is all locally sourced (get it - "locavore") meats. Expensive to very expensive but I worth it due to the high quality. This is the best part of the store, in my opinion. The produce section is small but well presented and packed full of fresh fruits and veggies. On the "meh" side - the perimeter of LL includes a sizable coffee bar and three restaurants: Basil Doc's, one two three sushi, and Culture sandwich shop. I love Basil Doc's pizza but I'm not likely to go to LL to get a pizza, nor will I go there and "dine in." Sushi - don't care. Culture - sadly they don't get their fresh bread delivery until 11am so you can't stop in on you way to work to pick up a sandwich for lunch. Hopefully they will fix this. I purchased a container of Chicken Tortilla Soup and a turkey sandwich (made with regular rye bread). The soup was delicious but could have used more chicken and the sandwich with chips was fine but would have been better on a baguette. Both were VERY overpriced at $15 and $16. My two-day lunch bill came to $33! On the "wtf" side - no bakery (therefore no fresh baked goods) just a boring bread area (nothing different than any regular grocery store), no salad bar, no pre-prepared salads etc. Personally I would rather have seen them use some of the space devoted to restaurants for more upscale food items. I live closer to Sprouts on 38th than I do to Leevers Locavore so I see no reason to go out of my way. read more
