Nice inviting storefront. No flash, just clean food.

Natural Grocers is a convenient place to find organic and cleaner products. It's not as nice as Whole Foods, but they stock about the same things. I think it's slightly cheaper that WF. The vibe is more of a hipster/hippie-ish feel and not as fun as WF. Unlike WF, all the produce is 100% organic and locally grown so out-of-season items may not be available. If shopping here make sure to bring your own bags! They don't provide paper or plastic bags! Learned that the hard way during my first visit here.

    Mold on hummus

Beware shopping at Natural Grocers. On 04-23, my partner and I attempted to return two defective products, 1-GT Daves GTS Coco-yogurt and 1-Doctor Hummus Classic Hummus because both had mold inside the containers. The store manager, S. Taffener (Chandler, AZ) refused to accept a return for refund or exchange, citing COVID as the reason. (Note--all items were within the listed expiration dates.) Talk about nonsense as COVID has no bearing on returning a defective product that can't be used nor resold to other customers. We are now shopping at WholeFoods, despite the global actions of Bezos, because they will accept returns on defective items with no questions asked. We've told our colleagues to avoid Natural Grocers and we are now telling our patients to avoid them too. We've sent dozens of patients to Natural Grocers in the past but never again. Too bad that large growth corporate mentality has infected that chain and they are no longer reputable. Avoid that chain like the plague. Shop organics elsewhere!

Friendly helpful staff. Great products. I have been going there since they first opened and have never had a problem.

The manager told me to let the produce guy know, but this is beyond a one-time event. It is a pattern. Pharmacy:5 Checkout: mixed. The nosey person is overly "friendly" but is trying. She seems lonely and may not be coachable. Overall service: 3 Some of the managers seem to try, but they need some corporate support around service and produce. I'll go there for the pharmacy and be sure to check expiration dates for groceries. I'll be going to King Soopers and Natural Grocers for produce.

I called the next day to ask if they had any headphones at the lost and found and they confirmed they had my Bose headphones. I come in around 9 pm asking for it and the guy working at the self checkout tells me they don't have it. He 'calls' his manager and his manager also says there were no headphones. I tried explaining that I called earlier, however he refused to check and kept telling me to just write my phone number down. After having to insist having the manager come over, I was met with a lot of bad attitude. He stated they didn't have it, and after having him go back and check for my headphones TWICE, he suddenly "found" them and handed it to me. Genuinely no clue what is going on with the employees who work there at night. Both the manager (Mike) and cashier (glasses, tall, brown hair) were absolutely terrible to interact with.

One of the employees also gave me advice on how to cook them so they turned out their best. Additionally I came in a few days ago and got a grilled cheese/veggie sandwich. The sandwich was great, came on sourdough, had a good array of veggies, and they made it quickly The sides were a little lacking to my taste but I'm just not a big fan of potato/pasta salad type dishes and got a bag of Lays instead. I definitely recommend stopping in to buy some cheese for home or for a quick lunch/sandwich.

Since the family is Celiac and we're not, we needed a little glutenous snack before the gluten-free holiday. This spot is located in an unassuming shopping center next to a few specialty shops and a Burger King. We went in and there was a line of people waiting to pick up their cheese boards for the next day. We checked out the menu as we waited, watching the beautiful boards come out one after the other and deciding if we should just order a board to take with us. We went with the Bay of Pigs - their Cubano style sandwich with a side of the southwestern pasta salad. After grabbing a table and drooling over more of the gorgeous cheese trays that walked out, they brought our sandwich over to us. While small, it was still generously stuffed with perfectly slow roasted pork, ham, spicy mustard, pickles, cheese and an interesting addition of cabbage that gave it a fun crunch. The southwestern pasta salad was SPICY and studded with small bits of cheese. We inquired about the boards which ranged from $13 - $150, and learned they average about $10/head. Since we needed to get up the hill, we decided to stop by another time to grab one for a future holiday since they offer gluten-free options. Super friendly and quick staff, delicious food, and just a cute atmosphere overall.

Once inside there is a first floor that has a few different food options as well as the pour your own beer options as well. In order to partake in the beer option, you need to get a card that you can tap to the machine and you pay per the ounce. They have other drinks beside beer on tap as well such as different types of cocktails. They have a great food selection. That includes many different varieties of food throughout the venue as well. The top floor also has a few additional beer options as well as food options. I decided to go with a barbecue option which I got a brisket sandwich which was really good as well as a side of fries and some of the barbecue sauce. I also got a beer on top from one of the local breweries. It was a chilly day out, but I still wanted to sit on the patio on the top deck, so we sat by a fireplace. They have a ton of different fireplaces, all throughout the top deck as well as the lower deck as well so sitting outside was an option for the time of the year that I was there which was March. Maybe in the dead of the winter they don't have this option but just keep that in mind. Anyways, I thought the view of the course brewery factory right across the way was really cool to see as well. The food was really good and I love getting beer by the ounce because if you don't like the beer, you can just get a different one and you don't have to make a whole glass pour every time you get one. I definitely would recommend the golden mill. It definitely seems like a place that a lot of locals hang out and there is a food or beverage option for everyone so even picky eaters would love this place. If you are in Golden, you have to visit!

This is a real toss up for me. We were with a visitor who had been there when in Golden for a…read moreconference and thought we would like the concept of a food hall and like the sort of food she had there in the past. I am familiar with food halls at home in Boulder that I like and frequent regularly. This was nothing like them in so many ways. It was obvious that this is lived locally but in a holiday it was so ham packed that it was unpleasant for a newcomer to negotiate. Yes, for beer lovers the concept of self serve from the many taps and pay by the ounce Baxter so many in stock is novel, but I don't drink beer or margaritas and I could not find a simple ice tea. There were sodas from a machine which also did not suit me either. The concept of the scan card seems good for the cafeteria atmosphere and the beer supply but the food places did take credit cards, where at least you see the receipt etc. you leave the card in a box when you leave and they charge the credit card you entered to get it. No real review apparently by the customer. Most of the food I saw in menus and the tables were not my style either, huge portions of mediocre looking food. My husband had trouble figuring it part of the ingredient in the biggest burrito I have ever seen. He could not pick it up fore the crema decorating the tortilla which was thicker than any I've ever seen. On the other hand, my food was fairly good though grease dripped out at every bite. It was a Gordita made with crisp little corn cakes and the al pastor filling was tasty. The others in the group all had large portions of unappealing to me food so I did not taste and far too. Big for a healthy lunch. While we were eating at compared communal tables , the restrooms across from them were propped open for the steady stream of users. But on a holiday weekend a prime lunch time when we arrived, it was the only option. The entry line to get the pay card was nearby and the line went up the stairs to the entry with at least 20 to get and register the card, many with children in tow. Our guest knew where to park so that was no problem jf you are willing to pay to park for a meal. We were, but would have lived a quality meal and not a madhouse. The only staff person I spoke with because her food was dessert and not peak season for ice cream was so friendly and helpful and mad a custom snack size of her New Zeland style treat. She saved the day for me. I will not return but others in our party might should the occasion arise and clearly the locals who are regulars keep them well supported. I will stick with my local more intimate and curated food hall kitchens.
