if I could pick zero stars I would. We've been customers for three years. This past December, we had no service for almost 30 days due to office issues, including the "expert"being sick and another person having a stroke. We were very understanding of this and even not having service for a month we never asked for a credit. We were very understanding of the medical issues in the office. When they finally sent out a technician, the technician ended up working on the wrong window. And of course we didn't realize that until the middle of the night when the system started beeping incessantly. We called back to get another technician to come out and again the "expert" was out of the office. We called again and received no phone call back. When we finally got the "expert" out here, he did fix the system and had us sign an invoice for zero dollars. Two weeks later we received a bill for $137. part of that $137 charge is an $85 service call charge when we paid that the first time they came out when they fixed the wrong window. And the other part of that $137 charge is for batteries which we paid for when the guy was here at this point, we were so frustrated because of everything we've dealt with in the month of December. And when we called in we spoke with Shannon who did not seem to care that we've been customers for three years. And said she would absolutely not change our bill and was willing to let us go as a customer so we have shut off our service. Do not recommend at all. this is all true, and all honest, and any reply that this company makes on this review is probably a lie. what a shame!! read more

The response by the owner, Tom, is typical of him and his company. He repeatedly blamed the problems with his work on other people - the electrician, Control4, and even me. He did install the system. This denial goes to show just how dishonest and unaccountable he is. Why else would I contact him in attempt to fix the programming? And why else would Control4 demand that he attempt to fix the programming or revoke his ability to represent the product. He did not "fly out" anyone. Control4 sent a technician to our home to help determine why our system and programing were so screwed up. Control4 required Tom to be on-site the day of the visit. During the visit, Tom was very immature and defensive - refusing to speak to me, and only communicate through the Control4 technician. Additionally, during one more follow-up appointment (to again attempt to fix his work), Tom was so extremely rude, condescending and "inappropriate" with my wife that I asked for him to never step foot in my home again. For numerous reasons, beware. read more

I had a very similar experience as the other reviewer here, Jose A. Whoever is in charge of collections for this company is a rabid bulldog and completely unreasonable. I mailed a dispute letter that stated, in part, "This letter is to attempt to save your company postage and collection attempts in connection with an invoice that is being repeatedly sent to my house. These charges for $55.90 have already been unequivocally disputed via telephonic communications with employees of Safe-T Security. Said phone call resulted in an angry employee hanging up on me. Since the day my household first signed up for Safe-T Security monitoring, we paid for the entire year in-full before services began. When the year was over, we would get another invoice and we would pay in full for the year again. However, after the third year we decided not to renew and not to pay. We called in our cancellation request, and followed that up with a letter. Now Safe-T is trying to collect for two months of service that was not agreed to nor requested." These guys have been unrelenting in trying to get paid for two months of service that I didn't want, nor did I contract for. I'm not sure if I want the hassle of suing them -- and I also don't want the hassle of suing them if they do anything to damage my credit for a disputed bill. I can't believe a company wouldn't just write this off as a $55 mistake. Instead, they're getting a frustrated ex-customer Yelp review. read more

I recently cancelled my account after 5 years with this company. Over the years the level of customer attention has gone down badly as experienced people have left the company. I will not get into the major issues that I experienced with Safe -T Security but I will say that it required an email and probably 15 phone calls to get everything shut off, (monitoring and the wireless device through alarm.com) even I was reassured that everything had been taken care of. Stay away is my advice. read more

IF I COULD PUT ZERO STARS I SURE WOULD - This place is a rip off I called spoke with a gentleman to cancel my service he month before i moved the business- he assured me all was good then i get a bill months later - I called now they tell me to fax in a letter and wait 30 days- which I did...after we moved, they never did reach out and say we are not getting your signal Stay away from these unethical people - it is scary to think they have your codes for your alarms and homes - -- very glad to now be doing business with an upfront honest company that lets me know if something is amiss. read more

Watch out for these guys. We had a service call scheduled to replace a radio module and they ended up replacing two other things (transformer and battery) when I specifically told them we didn't need them to be replaced and even charged us for it. They basically dismissed our conversation prior to the scheduled service visit and told our office manager (unbeknownst to me) that these other two items needed to be replaced in order for the module to function. Good alarm service. Worst Control4 servicing ever. Originally had Best Buy install which was functioning perfect. I wanted an alarm system integrated with Control4 and unfortunately they were the ones I called. Convinced me telling me I needed network switches, another box, and the list goes on. Since August 2017 I've had nonstop issues. Haven't had my doorbell working. An email/text states he will look into a doorbell that works with control 4. That should have been the first sign as I had several in mind after doing my research. Then recently says he's installed 15 of them and I'm the only one with issues. I was told it was my internet. However when Best Buy installed I was at 24mb. when I installed with Tom, we upgraded to 300 and at 25mb NEVER had an issue. Last straw was a few weeks ago when Chris Pastel (awesome guy btw) came 3 times in one week. And it worked! For only 3 days. I contacted control4 after showing them Toms emails and texts. They sent two separate Control4 independent contractors to assess what was wrong. Turns out the issue was Toms installation. I was charged for visits to repair things that HE had installed incorrectly. They were baffled to see two units in one cabinet which was causing confusion and interference with signal. Also paying for a WAP but kept it in cabinet? How does that make sense? Oh wait! They attempted to run it over my cabinets in kitchen but they hit a fire block; left the mess and said, "you should be fine with it in cabinet" (still paid for it)They moved the unit everything has worked ever since. Changed a few things on network, etc. Again, the Alarm side is reliable. I will not recommend anyone for Control4 servicing to him. Unfortunately because of the dollar amount of equipment and number of times of servicing this does not fall under small claims court. Fortunately for me, my relative is an attorney who will take it for me. If anyone else had experienced this, please reach out to me. read more

Safe T monitoring system has been a complete disappointment for the past year, since its installation at our house. Originally, technicians advertised the system as a high-end product but the images have very low quality. The system also seems much overpriced over similar products. Installation was done imprecisely, too. Even two different front cameras could not cover the complete driveway and the entrance. Cameras were later reinstalled. Finally, some software issues in the monitoring system caused a loss of data transmitted to our cell phones. Our service call was made just a couple of days past the warranty expiration but before the cameras were reinstalled. The company disagreed to fix the system free-of-charge. Given multiple issues with low quality of the monitoring system, its high price, installation problems, and buggy software, I would at least expect a better service. Unfortunately, it was inadequate, too. read more

SAFE-T SCAMMED ME. I've just finished having a very insulting experience with this company. When we had service from them, we had problems with the alarm not calling back to their office when it was triggered. I tried several times to get it fixed, but their technician no-showed me each time. Since I was moving my business location anyways, we just stopped worrying about it and moved to our new location with a different security company. Since it was an annual contract, I knew that the contract would just expire and that would be that. Two whole years later, I began receiving calls from a collections agency for unpaid invoices to Safe-T. When I called Safe-T about this, they claimed that they made multiple attempts to contact me via email, mail, and telephone. This is an outright lie, as I never received any of those communications. No emails are in my inbox, and all forwarded mail and phone calls from the old location to the new location have come through just fine. So, in summary, they charged me for services that were discontinued, then sold the false debt to a collections agency without making any attempts to contact me first. I called the office and was connected to Evette, who handles billing and accounting. She was unwilling to help me, and told me I would have to take it up with the collections agency. Their business approach seems to be that they just say or do whatever they want in regards to their customers' closed accounts, then sell those falsely billed accounts to a collections agency, and wash their hands of it. Evette was not only unwilling to help, but she was also very rude, insulting, and condescending. When I pleaded my case to her about not be contacted, her stock response was, "look, that's what everyone says when we send things to collections," basically insinuating that I am a bold-faced liar. She also accused our business of being "chronic late-payers," even though I have receipts that show three years of on-time payments. The only liar in this situation is the dishonest Safe-T Security. I was hesitant to write this scathing review, as I'm not a fan of putting such negativity out into the world. However, upon reading the other reviews on this page, I can see that Safe-T makes a habitual practice out of this scam. It's sad and pathetic to see a company like this trying to scam small business owners out of such trivial amounts... the total about in question was less than $200!! In conclusion, I feel lucky that I no longer do any business with this company, as I can only imagine what other dishonest practices they might be engaging with. I guess there's a reason why their rates are so low... they're making their money in some shady ways! read more

They said they emailed me and forwarded an email from the wrong email account, (how smart are you!!) til this day I have not seen a bill. I have been a client of Safe T Security since 2009. I have been paying my yearly fee once a year. I paid in December for all of 2014. In January 2014, I made a decision to cancel service due to different factors. I sent an email to the company requesting cancellation. Mind you, I had signed a year contract back in 2009 and after the year was up, I was on a month to month. I followed up by a phone call to Safe T Security to ensure successful cancellation. I was transferred to a lady, can't remember her name. She stated she was the cancellation manager. I told her I wanted to cancel my service and wanted a refund of the yearly fee I had just paid the month before less the first month's fee. She proceeded to tell me that the fee is none refundable. I was in shock when I heard that. I told her that my contract was up and I wanted my money back. She kept saying that their policy was not to refund the remaining unused balance. I asked her to please send me a copy if a contract that stated this policy. She said that she did not have it but that they will not refund my money. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I asked who owned the company. She said it was a corporation. I asked again who was above her and she said no one. Once I realized this rude lady was not going to help me, I informed her that I would take them to small claims court. She stated it that it would be fine and that she would be the one that would attend the proceeding. I told her great and that I would see her there. I asked a friend that is in the security business to contact the owner for me since he knew him. After arguing with him for a Long time, the owner acted just like the employee. If you are thinking of using this company, you might want to think twice about it. They are in the business of keeping people's money. Stay away! read more

This company truly does NOT care about their customers. My mother had been with Safe T Security for 26 years before we terminated our service with them. My mother was hospitalized and I came from out of town to her home. When I entered her home, I did something wrong with the code on the alarm. The alarm went into a fast paced beeping for several minutes and then shut off. I waited for a call or police, NOTHING. Only thing that happened was the system was now compromised and not working correctly. Periodically, it would start beeping. When I called for support they couldn't offer any explanation other than we can help you stop the beeping temporarily. Fast forward........I brought my mother home from the hospital and put her on hospice at her home. I needed to leave for two days and was afraid the alarm would go off while I was gone and caregivers were there. Again I called and explained the situation and asked if they could help. There response was, our appointments are 2 weeks out. I explained how important this was. Again, our appointments are 2 weeks out. They did manage to get a guy to come out while I was away and he shut down the system because that is what he was told to do. Not really what I wanted but as long as I knew the alarm wouldn't go off and disrupt my mother, I was okay with it. Fast forward again.........my mother passed away and with all the scams and robberies that occur after a death, I was really scared to have the house unarmed, especially the day of the funeral service. I called Safe T Security and explained the entire situation again and asked could you please send someone out to arm the system. They said they were 2 weeks out on appointments AGAIN!! I begged and pleaded with them to please understand this is an emergency and I really need someone now. Their answer.......sorry we're 2 weeks out. I asked if I could talk to a manager. The manager told me the same thing. I again begged and said I would pay an extra overtime fee. NO was the answer. My last words were..........after 26 years, don't we both want to feel good with our relationship? Apparently NOT. I ended up having to pay someone to sit in my mothers house during the funeral service. That's how wonderful this company is to do business with!!!! Pick another company if you're looking for professionalism and dedication to customers. read more

I have been using this company for a year now and I have nothing but good things to say about them. From calling within seconds and running an interference with the the police keeping them from coming to my home when I accidentally set off the alarm. That is a great feature because in my city if the police show up because of a false alarm, I will get billed for wasting the the police officers time. Also, last Friday someone tried to break into my home while we were out for dinner. I received the phone call right away and they sent the police to my home. Luckily the burglars didn't get a chance to steal anything since they tripped the alarm. I have purchased more sensors and Safe-T is going to install them for me. Thank you Safe-T You have done exactly what you are suppose to do!!! read more

We have been a customer of Safe-T for a long time. We office locations and brought them with us. We had them install an Access Control System along with an alarm. For the past year we have been working with them to get the system running properly. It has never worked. In fact, a burglar was able to easily pull open the door with one hand and gain access to the building. Eventually, it became clear to us that Safe-T has limited experience installing the systems they sold to us. They could not fix the system and eventually refused to honor their warranty. We brought outside vendors in to look at the system. They came up with a huge list of errors and inadequacies not only in our Access Control but also in our Alarm system! This included faulty wiring, not wiring up sensors, using the wrong equipment, left gaping alarm protection holes...the list goes on and on. The new vendor we contacted said this was worst takeover job he has ever seen. If you are working with them please please have an outside vendor check their work. We were totally unaware of all the issues and are now left to clean up their mess after countless man hours of trying to fix things. I sincerely wish I had paid a bit more to get the job done right. In the end it would have been far cheaper and our office wouldn't have been burglarized. CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING! read more

I needed to update my home security system. Was referred to Safe-T-Security and initially spoke with Mike. He was very helpful in explaining my options. The next day the technician arrived on time. He was professional and very patient in explaining the equipment I would need, only two small items. He helped me with the existing keypads, which he fixed, and the wireless remotes (get these!). I was very surprised to learn that they offer monitoring services for about $13.00/month. That is down from the $49.00 I was paying. Would definitely recommend giving these guys a try. read more

After multiple technician visits to my home, my NX-8 alarm system, purchased through Safe-T Security has still not been programmed correctly causing false alarms, inability to arm through Alarm.com, multiple police dispatches, and incorrect naming of devices. I have spent more than 80 hours of time attempting to resolve alarm programming issues caused by Safe-T Security. Through Simon (Safe-T Security Customer Service), I requested Debra (Manager) call me back to discuss these issues. Debra did not call me back. I emailed Mike (Vice President of Sales) and he wrote: "Debra has informed me that you are requesting compensation and a way to talk to our owner. Neither of these options are possible." and "Our owner is aware of the situation but will not get involved." As the management of Safe-T Security has been unwilling to discuss these issues with me, I sent a 31 day notice of cancellation. My cancellation notice and explicit verification that the Alarm.com module should be released on the same date/time, was emailed to Safe-T Security office on 2/29/2016 at 2:43 PM (31 days prior to cancellation) and confirmed as received on 3/1/2016 at 9:46 AM (30 days prior to cancellation). On 3/23/2016, I sent a follow-up email asking for a secondary confirmation that the Alarm.com module would be released on 3/30/2016 at 11:59pm. I wrote, "Also, I would like written confirmation the alarm.com module will be released on the cancellation date even though the final payment may not yet be received by Safe-T Security." On 3/24/2016 at 4:28pm, Customer Service wrote "As per our previous email , once the cancellation has been processed on the date you requested you will receive a confirmation as well as any invoices due on the account. The alarm.com module will be released once cancellation is complete." AT NO TIME did Safe-T Security advise there would delays in releasing the Alarm.com module, had this been communicated, I would have changed the date of cancellation to absolutely ensure the Alarm.com module was available for reactivation. This unnecessary delay, entirely caused by Safe-T Security, has cost me more than $300.00 in service technician fees and additional time off of work. On Mon, Apr 4, 2016 at 5:44 PM, the owner Tom Maneri wrote: David, I apologize if you feel like you were "slighted" in your cancelation process. Let me assure you our cancelation procedure has been the same for every customer for over 10 years as was explained to you in previous emails and phone conversations. We only process cancelations during normal business hours. After the account cancelation is complete, then the alarm.com module gets canceled/released, which is normally within 24-48 hours later, again during regular business hours. In order for us to cancel the alarm.com module, we always first complete all of our central station cancelation procedures and paperwork. In order to complete that process, before we cancel/release any GSM communicators, the account must be completely closed which includes the account being paid in full on any outstanding balance. In your case, we did cancel the alarm.com service prior to your outstanding balance being paid in full. We also did not make you accountable for the complete outstanding balance which should be the annual contact balance of $383.40. Your contract terms (that you selected) were annual and because your cancelation was one month into the contract term, the entire amount should have been due. We in fact did not hold you accountable for this amount, only the one month over your last term, which is still outstanding. I am not sending this email for any other purpose than to explain to you our account cancelation procedures and to assure you in no way did we deviate from our normal procedure (that wasn't in your best interest). I you paid "$300 in Technician fees", that was your choice to do prior to the account cancelation process being complete. Again I apologize if you feel you were inconvenienced in anyway based on our standard cancelation procedures. Respectfully, Tom Maneri ========== Less than 3 hours after receiving the owner's email, I sent the following email: Hello Tom, In an effort to amicably resolve this matter, I have 3 questions about your email. Dealt with Simon and Tyler: you get what you pay for and even less with Safe-T... My alarm panel failed, it took months to get a technician scheduled and panel replaced. My pregnant wife was home during the second failed attempt to replace the panel when she was verbally harassed by Tyler the technician when refusing to pay the invoice. After the verbal harassment, she requested Tyler to leave (his tools were still in the house). She called me and I told her not to let him back in to get his things and to call Simon. If I could give zero stars, I would. Cancelled home alarm service beginning of March because we sold the house. Tried numerous times via email and calling customer service to get the refund for remaining balance (prorated) mailed to us. We had just paid a quarterly charge and should have had a refund for remaining months unused. One email I received said if there was a balance on our account, the invoice would be attached to the email (how funny that there was NO attachment). Each time I called customer service to have a manager contact me back, the manager was either "in a meeting," or "out to lunch." I left my name and callback number numerous times, and never got a call back. It is now the end of April, and after finally having enough of this, I called again...more strongly requesting to speak to a manager. They FINALLY put Deborah on the line (after multiple attempts transferring call), who said she was the manager. When I asked her where our refund was, she said, "We don't give refunds." Plain and simple. Said it says so on their contract. ??!! WHAT CONTRACT? That's the whole premise of their company, so they say. No credit checks, no contract. The only thing they have is either an annual payment or a quarterly. I chose quarterly. So, EACH email that I sent, and EACH phone call speaking with customer service....NO ONE SPOKE OF THIS lack of returning refunds. Could have saved me over 1 month of headaches dealing with follow ups. Bottom line: I would not recommend this company. read more
