1/11/13 - Met with Dan as he came out to our location to do an estimate. I needed to add cameras to my parent's house to capture activity in front of house as there are cars parked out in front and may stick around during the later hours. I wanted to setup a surveillance system for their home to take footage of activity out in front of the house as well as in the back yard. Sometimes the dogs will bark constantly but we don't know if people are out in front or it's a cat, dog or coyote, etc. With a video surveillance system we would be able to see the footage on TV or on our smart phone or computer. Dan came across very professional and took the time to explain all the details on what would work best for what I was looking for. Didn't try to rush me or pressure me into anything specific. Just wanted to find out what my needs were and fulfill them at the best price possible. He provided me several quotes for different quality of cameras to work within my budget. 1/20/13 - After getting quotes from other vendors Security Bud came across as the most competitive. The only concern for me now was the job that they were going to do. Got in touch with Dan, told him the quote I liked for the 6 cameras I wanted to have installed and we set a date for him and his crew to come out. 1/25/13 - They arrived early 9am (Dan showed up at 8:35am) and got to work right away. Dan emphasized to his crew on making the installation "look pretty" so as to make the camera installation, wiring look less noticeable and hidden. *TIP* - Cover lunch for the guys while they're working and bring it back so they can have lunch on location. It'll save them time, they'll appreciate it and do an even better job. It will also save YOU time so they don't need to go out for a lunch break. The crew...Dan, Nick and Vincente are genuinely professional and take the time to answer questions or address any concerns we had. After they had been working for some time I could start to tell that they honestly want to do a good job for us and address any concerns we had. They finished the majority of their work today but will be back tomorrow to finish the rest...there were some delays due to the rain. One tiny issue I had was that the carpet was left a little dirty after gaining access to the attic. No big deal as I just needed to do a little vacuuming after they finished up their work there. They did take the extra step to cover the ladder legs when placed on the carpet and they did take their shoes off when entering the household as requested so you know they are trying. 1/26/13 - Arrived 8am sharp and went right to work to finish the rest of what they needed to get done. Overall the work they did for the installation of the cameras looks incredible. Now we have full coverage of front yard, front door and the street area as well as the backyard including the side walkways. With a 1 TB hard drive we have nearly 1 month's worth of high-resolution footage and can always go back to look over any significant events that have taken place. Nick had mentioned to me that some people try to pickup their own video camera system and install it themselves. The wiring that's left out could easily be tampered with or cut. The thought of trying to install them myself had crossed my mind as well but I could NEVER do what these guys could do and was glad I got professionals to do the entire installation. If you don't have experience professionally installing a setup like this don't even try it. What takes them one day to do could take a week or more and it still wouldn't even match their level of work. Also, the quality of the professional grade video cameras offered by Security Bud are far greater than what you'd find available for retail. The cool thing about it is that you can download an app on your iPhone or Android phone and bring up your video footage in real-time. If the dogs are barking I can open the app and check what's going on around the house. Even when we're out and I just want to check on the house I just open the app and view the footage. Honestly, it can't get better than that. Remember that you're inviting strangers from a business to setup a surveillance system in your business or home. For me it was vital to find people that are trustworthy, offer great customer service and can do a professional job. The team at Security Bud are just that and got the job done right. SecurityBud is probably the worst experience i've ever had with a company. Stay away from them at all costs, i'm pretty sure most of the reviews they have are from friends and family members. I had them set up some cameras at my place of business and the camera system ending up malfunctioning less than a year later, and it is not even letting us log back in to our system, it's like the whole system reset on its own and the cameras stopped working. We called them and they refused to help us out in anyway that didn't include them making a quick buck, very disappointing. They clearly value money over morals. This is a legitimate FIVE STAR (rave) review! A couple of dumb M*$! F@(king LOSERS decided to access the top of my two story commercial building and somehow managed to steal two very large (and extremely heavy) commercial air conditioning units. I guess that wasn't enough for these dirt bags because they then vandalized a couple more units (which also required replacing). Total Damage: $18,000. As often is the case, I was somewhat late to the party... and decided it would be a good idea to install security cameras with motion detection up there so I can be notified of an "event", check it on my laptop and notify the police if I saw anything (for example: ac units being removed from the roof). So, I do what I always do... turn to YELP. I saw that SecurityBud had high reviews, and liked that some of the comments said they came in (cost-wise) a little under the competition. I called the owner, Dan and was able to reach him right away. Dan's came out to the building, took photos and later that day I received a couple of different quotes for various options. Dan said we need to install an internet connection so I can check in remotely on the "action" - so I called AT&T. In the meantime, Dan installed the cameras and panel quickly while we were waiting for AT&T to provide an internet hookup. (AT&T came by, and said they couldn't run the internet cable to the building (WTF ?!?!?!). So, guess what? DAN DID IT! Even though it wasn't his job... he ran the cable that AT&T should have done. (There was more with AT&T that I won't get into here, but look for a review coming soon). I (and my wife) are extremely happy and satisfied with Dan and his company, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND SecurityBud to anyone needing a security system. I was looking for a professional company to install security cameras at my house. I came across securitybud. I called them and the owner Dan came out to my house to give me quote right away. He made me feel comfortable right off the start. He assessed my home and gave me multiple options for camera configuration around my house. I had obtained quotes from other companies but Dan was the most reasonable and he provided the most options and worked with my budget. The day of installation, Dan and one of his technicians, Angel, arrived on time and installed 6 cameras outside my home. They were fast, efficient, and Dan really pays attention to detail. Reasons to use this company: 1. Prompt, professional, and courteous - way more so than ADT! 2. Reasonably priced! 3. Small, family owned business I needed a contact on our existing, unmonitored alarm system repaired. It was broken and setting off my alarm at random, irritating intervals. After many wasted calls to ADT and other security firms - none of whom would even give me the time of day since I was uninterested in monitoring service - I finally called Security Bud. The receptionist was courteous and professional, informed me of the (reasonable) trip charge and scheduled an appointment for the following day. I got a text confirming and giving me the name of the person who'd be coming. The technician called on his way, and was friendly and knowledgable. I would have paid almost anything if I had to, to fix the annoying problem, of this stupid contact setting off the chime over and over, but the guy (Dan), charged me an $85 trip charge and $100 for the wireless contact. He also fixed a magnet contact for free AND reprogrammed my alarm since this is a rental and we didn't know the code, so now we can use it when we leave. And he very patiently walked me through the use of the system. They were so efficient and professional, I assumed they were a huge company, but after talking with Dan, he told me they are a very small, family owned business. We had security bud install a 16 ip camera setup , with 2 mounted flat screens in my business last year. They were prompt , professional and stand by their work: Since I had purchased the system beforehand , one of the cameras was inadequate for this one particular need so I purchased a camera through security bud. After the installation of the system we noticed that this camera was having intermittent issues (most likely didn't work well with the DVR we purchased or the camera was defective) After they checked the connections and wiring we noticed the issues were still cropping up.
