So, we bought a house in Westminster. We just figured the ducts need cleaning, since it was the original owner from 1976 and he made a lot of strange choices and the house has had lots of neglect. I hired Flatirons Duct Cleaning, since they had amazing and honest reviews. They came, took pictures, showed me the pictures, said it looked clean, told me just to vacuum the openings and replace filters often and keep things away from the intakes. They could've charged me $400+ anyway. A lot of the reviews here say the same things. I highly recommend them for your duct cleaning. Extremely honest. HONEST! HONEST! HONEST! Contacted Flatirons duct cleaning to have them come over to clean my ducts. Upon arrival the crew was very professional, courteous and Honest. They took several pictures of the inside of my ducts, and looked at my furnace. They showed me the pictures. They told me my ducts didn't need to be cleaned at this time. I didn't have them cleaned. Jesse from Flatirons Duct Cleaning just came by to clean out our ducts, and he was wonderful to work with: professional, friendly, educational - and fast! He knew his stuff - we had to search for where the dryer vent exits the house, and he was really patient as we circled and climbed, and circled some more (in 90+ degree weather) to find it - turns out it was hidden behind the air conditioning unit outside. He even brought me outside to see how much he pulled out of the vent - was great to see how important it is for us to clean our ducts. $100 for the duct cleaning and they take credit and checks. Big. I can't imagine better service than Saul provided us from Flatirons Duct Cleaning. He's thorough, efficient, courteous, and professional. Our job was a bit more complex than it first appeared as it came on the heels of a remodel job, and the other trades caused all kinds of problems with the HVAC system. Saul cleaned half of the system, and let us know about many of the issues. We had them repaired, and he came back and finished up. I highly recommend Saul and Flatirons Duct Cleaning! His communication and scheduling were quick and efficient. He is honest, shows you what's going on, and explains things well. I had called Saul for a dryer duct cleaning. He searched for the dryer vent outside. He then explained how the dryer vents and how the roof cap limits the venting and causes it to back up. If he cleaned it then, the problem would likely come right back once it backs up again. He recommended that I get a roofer to replace the roof cap, which should take care of the underlying problem and help us know if it really needs a cleaning too. He even sent me a picture of the type of roof cap needed. I'm almost hoping it needs a cleaning after the roof cap is fixed to have another reason to support Saul and his business! read more

I was stunned to see how much lint was built up in my dryer vent and he did great work. Note, if you think you need a new dryer because it's taking forever to dry your clothes, have Flatirons Duct Cleaning clean the dryer vent first. Our house had been a rental for many years before we bought it and that included loads of pets. The last renters alone had 2 cats and 2 large dogs. We decided to get the heating vents and dryer vent cleaned before we moved in to our new home. Not knowing what that meant, I was delighted when I found a Groupon for a deep discount on a vent/duct cleaning through Seabreeze http://www.yelp.com/biz/seabreeze-air-aurora-2. They came to our home and basically just blew air around with an outward blowing vacuum cleaner. They also up-sold my husband for "extra work" totaling about double the original Groupon when I wasn't there to confirm what I had purchased as part of the deal. I don't want to spend more time telling you how badly that deal was when you can read the other yelp reviews for yourself and instead I want to tell you about Saul and his team at Flatirons. Flatirons Duct Cleaning was fantastic from the first phone call. He let me plan the appointment around my baby's nap, because he is a father himself and then he even gave us more time when the nap ran outside the window I thought it would fall in. He introduced himself and his employee before telling me what he was going to be doing and why what the other guy did actually made things worse for our indoor air quality. Saul and Mike spent an hour+ on the ducts and returns with their top notch equipment. They found a DEAD MOUSE in the vestibule of our furnace, which the other guy said he opened and cleaned himself. But there was no way that he did missed the rotting mouse, so either he just left it there or he just made some noise while down in our crawlspace and never opened the furnace like he said he did. Either way is terrible. After they finished, Saul showed us the before-and-after photos that he took, including the mouse in place. We were really happy with the obvious improvement and having the mouse gone. I can't recommend Flatirons Duct Cleaning with more enthusiasm or confidence. Really appreciated the expertise and honesty of this company. We thought we needed to have the ducts cleaned, and knew it was going to cost a bit to do it. However, they inspected all the ducts for us and told us that there was no need to clean them. They suggested a couple of the vents could use a shop vac near the opening, but that they were otherwise pristine. We had our handyman use a shop vac on the few that they pointed out, and it saved us hundreds of dollars. They WILL get our business in the future when it's time to clean the vents! This company is incredibly honest! We moved into a new construction home and we were concerned that the ducts might be blocked with drywall dust, etc. from construction. Jesse came out and showed us that the ducts were clear by taking and showing us pictures. He advised that we could remove the visible surface dust at the top of the vent with a vacuum attachment. The crew from Flatirons came out this week and did a fantastic job. I just purchased a new home and had wood floors put it so I knew there was plenty of stuff in my HVAC system. Jesse and his partner came to clean our ducts. They arrived early and were very professional. Jesse took pictures in our ducts and answered lots of the questions I had and was so helpful in explaining everything. He showed me the pictures and we actually didn't need to have the cleaning done. I felt so bad after they came all the way out to clean our ducts, but they were so honest and didn't want to clean them when they showed me they weren't dirty. You really can't find a more honest company and I feel really happy to know there's a company out there that's not just trying to take your money. I did a lot of research before calling them and read that a lot of duct cleaners just take your money and you don't even know what they're doing or what you pay for. This company is amazing in their integrity. HIGHLY recommended!!! There is a reason they don't have a single negative review!! Details: They came to my Denver home and were friendly and professional. We looked at my furnace together because I asked about the location of the air filter so that it could be replaced since we'd been getting a notification on our thermostat that it needed changing. Turns out there is no air filter in my furnace. We need one though, because small roofing material/particles and fiberglass that is all over our attic (location of furnace) is getting sucked up into our furnace and then being pumped through our ducts. These guys proceeded to inspect some of my ductwork and show me that there was very little dirt/residue in them. They let me know that because we have no filter in the furnace that their work wouldn't have much of an effect because the particles would continue to be sucked into the furnace and dirty our ducts as soon as I turned the furnace back on. They said I might want to consider having an HVAC person come out and install a filter box and THEN do my ductwork after awhile. I cannot express how thankful I am for these honest professionals who didn't just go ahead an do a job that would have cost me $400+ and had little effect considering the issue with not having a filter in my furnace. Once I am ready to have my air ducts cleaned I will definitely be using Flatirons Duct cleaning. I am confident in their business as they work with utmost integrity - often hard to find in this line of work. After receiving an online a quote of $445 to clean my system with 17 vents, I made an appointment. Two servicemen came and took photos of several of my vents, noting that they were actually quite clean except for the first 6 inches or so of a couple of them. They then suggested I could clean them myself with a good vacuum cleaner and they might not need a professional cleaning for 1-2 years. They said they would do the service anyway if I wished, but I had them clean only my dryer vent for $100, which was quite filled with debris. I was so impressed with their honesty as they totally had to opportunity to do the work and take my $445. Will definitely recommend this great local company and will call them myself in another year. Saul at Flatirons Duct Cleaning did a very excellent job cleaning my dryer vent lint out. he came to my house less than 24 hours after I called him. I had heard that it was important to clean the dryer vent, because it could cause I house fire. and wow, you wouldn't believe how much lint Saul cleaned out of the vent. It was scary - obviously hadn't been done in a very long time (or ever). I also asked him to assess my swamp cooler vents - he said they looked clean and didn't need to be serviced at this time. I hired Saul with Flatirons Duct Cleaning because of the good online reviews. When our furnace wasn't working after dinner on the day he had cleaned the ducts, I called him and he gave me a few suggestions on what to check. When it still wouldn't turn on, Saul came over and spent about 45 minutes trying to get the furnace to turn on. It seemed like there was something in the electrical controls that wasn't working. My HVAC service person, Troy with Boulder Metal Products, came out and put in a new part. He said that the problem was not caused by the ducts being cleaned. Just time for a replacement part in an 11 year old high efficiency furnace. We were very impressed that Saul, who was having dinner with a friend of his, was willing to come out and try to get the furnace to work.
