I honestly wish that I didn't even have to give them one star. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication from this pest control company. We have been trying to cancel the membership because we'll have not been able to get anyone in the phone to address the concerns we have had with the lack of service. We called several times and were told Tyler would follow up with us, but it has now been two weeks and we have not received a single call back from him. The company continues to say that the manager tried to call us, yet we have no missed calls or voicemails to support that. Meanwhile, they are still attempting to charge our account without resolving the issue. This has been extremely frustrating. Beware of Saela Pest Control!! They sell you on a "no-contract" agreement and tell you that you're paying for a year of service, but what they don't clearly disclose is that once that year ends, you're automatically enrolled into the next year. I've now been dealing with them for three years because of this practice. In the beginning, I genuinely liked the service. The pest issues were improving, so I overlooked the lack of transparency because it felt like "out of sight, out of mind," and the service was actually decent so I kept it going. That eventually changed. The quality of service completely dropped off. They no-call, no-showed on me multiple times, including days when I took time off work and even Saturdays. The blatant disrespect for my time is completely unprofessional. At one point, I called well in advance to reschedule because I was going out of town and specifically wanted them to service the inside of my house. I was initially bullied and pressured not to reschedule. When they finally agreed, they still showed up on the wrong day anyway. This company truly doesn't know their ass from their elbow. Customer service is a nightmare. You get bounced around endlessly, and no matter who you talk to, information never reaches the right people. To make matters worse, I called in November to cancel my service because I was unhappy and wanted to move on. Now, months later, I received a text saying my house would be serviced this upcoming week. I called to confirm, assuming it was a mistake. I was told there was a "note" on my account about cancellation, but it never made it to a manager. When I reiterated that I had made up my mind months ago and wanted to cancel, the representative tried every tactic possible to keep me from doing so and would not take no for an answer. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was flat-out told they would not connect me. I was told the only way to cancel was to speak to a manager on their terms, and that a manager would reach out when it was convenient for them. That is unacceptable. This company uses pressure, delay tactics, and intimidation to keep customers locked in. It feels predatory and completely unethical. I will be reporting them for bad-faith business practices. STAY AWAY! Rip off artists! I thought I was hiring a professional company but they turned out to be scam artists, taking advantage of an older person who had a rodent problem. They charged over $8000 to do something that should have cost a fraction. For that price I expected a 'one stop shop' but they simply told me what else I needed to do on my own dime. Then I had to point out multiple issues they hadn't addressed or noticed. In addition they simply contracted most work out to a 3rd party, which hired inexperienced young people who knew little about pest control. I had to keep pointing things out to them. I'm so sad to realize that we have been scammed by a bad company these last 7 years. I wish that we had never signed up with them. My husband signed up for their service one day. Now, we are trying to discontinue service for the sake of our family budget and they are giving us all kinds of trouble. I made one phone call last week and after being on hold twice, I was able to talk to a manager and he tried all kinds of things to keep us as customers. He finally said that he would send us an email saying that we are no longer customers and detailing further steps of discontinuing. He never sent the email. I'm going to go through another lengthy phone call today. I was then subjected to the exact same sales pitches offering the same 10+ options to continue.... I was very rustrated and told them that until this extremem sales pitch I would have given them a 5 star review but this totally soured me on the company and they "robbed" me of nearly an hour of my time rying to seel me something instead of honouring my request to simply cancel. It is truly the worst company I have ever dealt with. I live next to open space, and our neighborhood is known for its rodent problem. They have traps out, but I suddenly started seeing activity and found out that a rat is living underneath my hot tub and swim spa, eating the insulation. I called them back and the technician looked at my traps, which were filled with dust and leaves from last year. He said I had clearly been neglected. I had 1000's of $ in damages and no compensation. As a matter of fact, they tried to sell me more services with a compensation of 20% off. Next time the technician came, he didn't refer to the traps at all in his report. I have also said that I need them to go inside the house. Which they never do unless you call them back. In addition, I have never received an email from them. The last time they called, they said my last name is spelled differently on my email than it is in my contract. I told them they had misspelled it and needed to fix it. The rep on the phone said she did, and yet I am still not getting email. I just found out today that it's still misspelled in their system. read more

I was finally told that the nest probably needed to be removed for another $300. But, the sales process is very hard sell, and when I tried canceling after paying for a year's service, they just wouldn't take no for an answer. They continued service another month which prompted my calling back, and they had a record of me calling to cancel, but because I didn't speak to an 'account manager' it was not a valid cancellations. Now they say they are taking me to collections for the $164 monthly charge for service provided after I canceled. I would not recommend this run around to anyone. read more

Terrible and predatory. We called to cancel our contract with saels due to inadequate services being provided. We gave them multiple chances to do things right, but we constantly had to monitor them. This last time they showed up on the wrong day and barely did any spraying. They spent less than five minutes on our property, only getting our front yard, which is a fraction of our space and what we paid for. Upon calling, the customer service and sales manager were very unprofessional, and we're trying to upsell us the whole time and when they finally understood that we were not going to continue services, were refusing to refund money they charged and would charge in the future. my advice from this learning experience, just cancel the contract and dispute it on your card and be done with it. read more

Saela is horrible. Don't believe any of the reviews on their website or on Home Advsisor. They tried to charge us for service we did not receive. They told us we would get a refund but it didn't come through. Then they denied saying they'd give us a refund. Saela continually gaslighted us. They gave us misleading and contradictory information. Every time I asked for clarification I received a different answer. Sometimes the answer was purposefully vague in order to confuse me. They do not have an email contact on their website. Every time I called I was diverted from speaking to a manager. I was told someone would call and it never happened. Eventually, I was able to get through to a manager by interrupting their attempts to tell me someone would call. I was put on hold for twenty minutes in an obvious bid to get rid of me. Expensive. Try to upsell you at every single visit. Would always make up things about how they just saw some spider infestation at a neighbors house to sell you on a new service. Then I would talk to my neighbor who said they gave him the same line but it never ended up being true. Had to jump through hoops to cancel. Basically they used my credit card without my permission. 2. I didn't want to lose my money so decided to use that termination fee as a credit and still wanted to give them a chance. He said the hornets would be dead in about 2-3 days. They were not!! When I called again, they said it would be 2-3 weeks and they wouldn't come back out until that time. When they came back out to spray they charged me another $119.00 which was not what Austin said on the first phone call (supposedly $119.00 for the "program") When I called to cancel it took me 2 days of run around phone calls then they told me I signed a contract that said they would charge me an early cancellation fee if I cancelled. I had mice in my attic, and Saela rep said it would cost 18K for my attic to be cleared of mice and insulation and then replaced with the same. Bad customer service I've been with them for years when they were Edge. The employees who come out and do pest control are lovely, caring people. Unfortunately, you have to go through their system before you encounter this. They choose when you can get service and don't allow you to electronically make changes. So, you have to CALL every single time to change. When you do, they often try to get you to allow them to not really work by only servicing the outdoors while you're not home. These people charged me almost 7k to have a total mouse makeover. They were to suck out insulation with mice and droppings from my attic and then install new insulation, that's caustic to mice. They were to then check the attic weekly. It's going on three weeks now and they haven't been back. I say breach of contract. Saela Pest Control: Beware We recently moved to Fort Collins and chose Saela for our rental property. The initial sales pitch was smooth sailing: friendly staff, reasonable prices, and supposedly flexible cancellation. Happy with the pest control service, however trying to cancel is almost impossible, buyer beware.....Here's where the nightmare began. We are moving to Chicago, we called to get our service cancelled to which we were told we had to speak to a manager, however the manager was busy and would have to call us back. He never did so we called back. Then we were told we needed to call a 800 number to cancel, which we did but needed to be on hold for over an hour, twice. Reaching a manager proved impossible, and the "anytime cancellation" promise turned into a runaround. An 2 separate hour-long hold on their 800 number was followed by a barrage of unreasonable pressure tactics: * Transfer the service to a family member? * Move the service date up despite us leaving the property? * Pay for non-existent services because of a phantom "7 application signup" we never agreed to? This is beyond unprofessional. It's predatory. We were specifically told cancellation was easy, and now they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of us, even after we expressed our intention to use their services in our new location (which we absolutely will NOT be doing now). Saela Pest Control: If you value honesty, transparency, and ease of service, look elsewhere. This company prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction. Found out it was 2 years and $130 each time and they attempted to bill me monthly without even showing up. They claimed they showed up Saturday, in a snow storm, ring door bell confirmation no one was here and sent me a bill! I've escalated twice with zero response. If I could give negative stars I would. The first sales person came by and was very persistent. I said my issue was grasshoppers and he assured me the service that was $49 a month would help with that. Apparently this service is for near the home, not even in the yard. He lied to me just to get the sale. The next person that came out informed me of this and said i'll give you a complimentary service for the one that will take care of the grasshoppers. He even spoke poorly about the first rep. He had me sign for what I thought was a complementary service based on what he said to me. Come to find out, I am now in two contracts for 2 different services totaling $150 a month. I want neither service and I am told I have to pay 50% of the whole contract (1 year) to cancel. They did give me a discount but only if I continued. It should have been no questions asked based on two sales people lying to me. They told me to call back in the spring and then I had one more service to complete. I called them on March 12th. I even have a note in my calendar "Albert was supposed to call me in regards to canceling and to go over all of my conversations with other reps- Rosie (OCT) and Alyssa on March 12". When I spoke to Elissa on March 12 she said they're actually coming out tomorrow so I need to call back again to cancel once they complete the final service. Mind you, the first sales person explained canceling is easy. They showed up again sometime in June to do another service and I got a bill for it. I removed my card from being charged because I didn't authorize this. I called to cancel and got transferred so timeTrying to cancel this service is absurd. They tried to resell me close to 20 times when I tried to cancel and was told a manager we need to call me back. They wanted me to pay for the service I didn't authorize to cancel. We went in circles talking about this. Here's the thing, customer service is taking accountability as a company for doing a extremely poor job and waiving the cost of the last service I didn't authorize. The best part was that during this conversation, they said I still have one more service left, but I still need to pay 50% even though they said that the last service was in March... Nothing's adding up. They wouldn't work with me in anyway after I had paid for pretty much the full year for services that I didn't even want. It got to the point that I had to tell them they are not allowed on my property. This is still not resolved. read more

Believe the bad reviews. At the end of our year long contract I ended our service with a $0 balance which I put in writing with my last payment. I continued to get harassing emails and phone calls. I called and tried to cancel over the phone...the person I spoke with said that he could not end the service and only a manager could do that. The manager was not available at 4:45 on a weekday and they would call me back. The manager never did. I called back and waited on hold for the lower level sales person, had to explain the entire situation again, and then finally got to speak to a manager. The manager wanted to sign me up for another year to which I said "NO!" I asked to be put on the no call list, I asked to be taken off any registry that they had. Problem solved right? Nope, I still get harassing phone calls that ask if I want to make the changes permanent. My next call will be to the Attorney General. It needs to stop. read more

I would rather saw my foot off with a hand saw than do business with them again. We had wasps and spiders on our property. We had Orkin and were pretty happy. But we ended up switching because one of their door-to-door salesmen decided to ignore our No Soliciting sign on our front door and posed as an admirer of my truck. I stupidly fell for it. You sign an 18-month binding contract with them. If cancelled for ANY reason you owe them 50% of the remaining cost to service your property for how ever long is left on the contract. We ended up moving to an area that they do not service and as a result, I had to pay to cancel the service. They also only spray indoors when requested so if you do not remember to request it, they only spray outdoors. We ended up paying more for less coverage and as a result we started seeing spiders inside. It also took me 30 minutes to cancel my account. I told the customer service rep I wanted to cancel to which he proceeded to put me through a sales loop to retain me as a customer for 20 minutes. I was then put on hold for 2 minutes and it took a manager another 8 minutes to finally cancel my account. I want to be VERY clear, I stated MULTIPLE times that I wanted to cancel my account. I CANNOT say this enough times, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SAELA! read more

I had requested Saela Pest control to provide a free quote for my wife and I. They came out and let us know they needed a credit card on file but they would not charge us until we agreed to begin service. We specifically told Gary Oddo that we were looking into other options and were adamant we were not ready to proceed forward with their quote. Saela pest control opted to charge my card for $489.99 without letting us know, having any consent to do so and without beginning any form of service. I now have no money to pay my mortgage (due in 3 days) or get any gas solely because they charged my card without consent for nearly $500. They said they tried to refund this amount after I called them but that has not been the case and I asked to speak with a manager and all they said is we will try to have someone contact you within 2 days. I now am without any money for who knows how long and literally can not buy gas to get to work tomorrow (the customer service agent had no idea when the refund would process). This is the shadiest thing I have ever witnessed a company doing and they seem to not really care much since my request is on the back burner for a few days even after they promised me a call back today which never happened. I would highly recommend NEVER giving this company any credit cards because of their misuse in charging customer unknowingly. Would never do business with a company that has zero respect for potential customers! Sales reps in our neighborhood twice today. Knocked on my door, then rang the door bell then knocked again! I answered the door let him know I was not interested. He preceded to ask question I told him no thank you and went in the house. (I was working) Later that evening same sales guy knocked, then rang the bell then knocked again! If someone doesn't answer the door you don't keep knocking. People are working from home or have little ones napping or could be sick! Be respectful knock once and move on! I also have a No Soliciting sign.
