I know most people get annoyed with them since they do a lot of door to door sales, but having used them to do regular pest maintenance, I've had nothing but positive experiences with their service. With quarterly servicing, we never get spiders inside. This past summer we started to get Japanese beetles and mice in our backyard. Both were destroying our garden. EcoShield came to the rescue and promptly resolved both issues before we got a full infestation. They're always polite and helpful on the phone as well. Typically they send technicians out very fast when you have an issue (within a few days). The prices for quarterly servicing are very reasonable considering how much they will do. Most of the technicians they have sent have done an excellent job verifying what we needed and have completed the work promptly. They have likewise always honored their service time windows, often arriving on the early side of the time given. I definitely recommend them if you want to keep the creepy crawlers out of your house and yard! read more

Every time I called to schedule an appointment with them or have to reschedule was the most frustrating customer service experience. Their phone representatives are very convincing and make the program sound flexible, claiming you receive 5 services that you can postpone and use at any time. THIS IS NOT TRUE. You can only postpone within very specific limits once services are scheduled. Scheduling is horrible and they screw it up nonstop. Out of our 5 services we've only had three done, and it's always been a big to do on the phone for hours. If you need to pause beyond that, they require you to cancel your account, charge a $250 cancellation fee, and then force you to reactivate within a month to restart treatments. What is explained over the phone does not match the actual contract. The whole process feels misleading and sketchy, and it resulted in endless phone calls and wasted time. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due: the technicians who came to our home were polite and did a good job. We had Japanese beetles over the summer, and they were completely gone within two treatments. Unfortunately, the quality of the technicians does not make up for how poorly the company is run. I called Jackson who was the sales person who gave me the song and dance about them being the best and that they have a guarantee to fix any issues. I had to pay them $165.00 for that service, it is ridiculous. You can't get a call back or talk to management, they send you to a collection agency instead of dealing with their lack of service. Do not hire this company... I hired them specifically to get rid of ants, mice, and wasps. They were zero for three. I'm still dealing with all of them. Worse, when I spoke to their representative I explained that I would not agree to a contract. He offered that they would do four treatments. I could cancel after three at no additional cost. Failed to follow up and take care of untreated areas (after sending them photos) as per the contract. So when I cancelled the subscription due to failure to provide services per the contract, they charged an earlier termination fee. I explained the situation to representatives multiple times--that I couldn't pay them good money after bad. They then sent me to collections to pay the early termination fee. Stay Far Away - This Company is a Total Scam I would strongly advise staying far away from EcoShield Pest Control. Our experience has been nothing short of frustrating and deceptive. First of all, their sales rep assured us that the product they use is completely safe for children and animals--a major selling point for our family, as we have small kids, a dog, and chickens. Later, buried in the fine print of the agreement (which we weren't given until after we signed), it clearly states that pesticides are used and that pets and children should be kept away from treated areas. This was never disclosed upfront, which feels extremely misleading. We were told the initial $499 payment would cover the first few services, but we were then charged $199 two months in a row, without clear explanation. We later found out we were unknowingly locked into a 24-month agreement with quarterly services, and worse, a $299 cancellation fee--none of which was explained during the signup process. It's hidden in the fine print and never mentioned verbally. Adding to the shady tactics, they offered a "free attic inspection," and came back claiming they found mouse droppings and insisted we needed an $8,600 remediation. We own a general contracting company, and we know that even a full insulation replacement would cost a fraction of that--maybe $2,500 at most. This is nothing more than a scare tactic designed to take advantage of homeowners who don't know better. When I tried calling to address these issues, I was connected to someone offshore who could barely speak English and couldn't provide any meaningful help. I've had to call the police on their employees twice in three days. Two days ago, one of their guys ignored my "no soliciting, no trespassing sign" and knocked on my door at 9:30pm, after dark. On 6/24/2025 I received a call from EcoShield that a service was scheduled at my home for 6/26/2025. Only 9 minutes later, I called EcoShield and asked the representative to cancel the appointment because our contract was over in April and we were no longer going to use EcoShield's services. The service was performed anyway while we were out of town and despite our instructions ahead of time to cancel the service. Usually seem to be just normal people doing a job, kind and helpful and make sure they follow up on anything you bring up with them. Their sales reps are the typical sleeze. "Oh I just happened to be doing work for your neighbor, and I've got a deal I'll give you but don't tell anyone else." Well it's the same for everyone, including the hidden fees and "discounts" they will give you. They will lock you into a contract that will give you a discount off your initial commitment (1-2 years!) and if you cancel at any point, you will more than likely be emailed and texted by 10 different people every day telling you that you are eligible to have to pay back your discount. Yet the eco shield salesmen still rung my bell, I stepped out onto the porch because of my dogs and proceeded to get the longest, yes very good sales pitch. The salesmen asked what company I'm using, if I like them etc. I told him I've been with my current pest company for 3 years and like them very much. He kept asking what they do, and I don't know why I kept answering. He told me the things they would do differently, etc. But basically I got sold, sold by pressure, sold by how time consuming the pitch was, sold by promises. I scheduled their first service for a couple days later, even though he wanted to do it right then. Then I got the longest contract by email I have ever seen. I regret signing it more than anything. Because they did their first service, and in the next week I saw 2 mice, even though I haven't seen one in almost 2 years with my current company (I did have a big problem when I first bought this house). My current company who I had cancelled with came by to pick up their bait stations and were kind as ever, and I decided to go back because not only is the price SO MUCH less, over $100 per quarter, I see great results. So I called to cancel. Yes I know there was a cancellation fee. I stupidly hoped they would work with me, not waive it, just work with me. They had been out once for almost $200, and wanted a $250 cancellation fee on top of that. Almost $500 to get once service that resulted in me seeing mice for the first time in over a year. I asked for a manager (after a 45 minute wait on hold), was told they would do nothing. But, they would be happy to reduce my rate for my next service only (still double the cost of other company), and after that one the price would hike back ups. While I was working downstairs, one of their sales clowns lured my spouse, who haa obvious severe dementia, outside and kept pressuring her to sign a contract. This is the first time I've left a negative review about a company. Generally, I'd rather just move on from a bad experience rather than pouring more energy into writing a review. But if I can help someone avoid what I went through with this company, it will have been worth it. The EcoShield agreement offers a 100% guarantee for free touchup services in between regular visits. On their first visit they treated the outside but not the inside, saying they would call me to schedule an inside treatment. They never called. After about two weeks, I called to ask if they would come out to do the inside of our home. The representative (clearly a call center) said she'd relay the message to EcoShield and someone would call back. They never called. About a week later I called again, same promise from the representative, same result. They never called. I called again. Same result. Frustrated, I called to cancel the agreement, feeling that a guarantee which had not been honored should be enough. This is where things got ugly. I was transferred to a guy in their "cancellation department". Over the course of a 25-minute call I asked him no less than 5 times to please cancel my agreement and tell me if he could waive the $250 cancellation fee. He ignored my requests and kept pushing - hard - to change my mind. This wasn't the polite kind of encouragement . . . it was clear that he was angry and frustrated at my continued request to cancel and he kept coming back with stories, excuses, suggestions . . . everything but acknowledging the one thing I was asking for. His energy was ugly, as was his behavior. He couldn't/wouldn't recognize my attempts to end the call so I finally had to speak over him (he was close to yelling at this point) to say "thank you, I need to hang up now". You feel dirty after a call like this. Just incredibly unpleasant, unfriendly, and unnecessary. A few days later, I received an email asking me to pay the $250 cancellation fee. I'll pay it and move on with my life. If this doesn't sound fun to you, I suggest avoiding EcoShield. read more

I listened to the deal he offered and it sounded decent enough to me. My only question to this guy was this: "I'm moving to SC in a few months, so this deal doesn't lock me into any cancellation fees or anything like that, does it?" I was assured that "No, if I was legitimately moving away, I could do a minimum of two treatment services, and I would be out of the contract, no problem." Well, that has not exactly been my experience with this less than honest business. The sad truth to my story, for EcoShield anyway, is that they actually did a decent job of spraying and controlling the spiders I had been having in my garage! Their solution seemed to be working and after two treatments I would have given them 4 stars on here! It's what happened when I had to put my house on the market and prepare for my move to SC that EcoShield suddenly became this absolutely horrible company and used bullying tactics to try and scare me into paying a cancellation fee... yes, the same one that I had been assured didn't exist. Now it's gone on for like 6 moths and I'm getting annoyed at their debt collector who has been texting me. EcoShield has got to make a decision: Are they going to be recognized as a legitimate business or one that treats customers like crap, lies to customers, and then charges these hidden contract cancellation fees?
