We had been battling a weird issue in our sunroom for a few months and recently discovered we had ants in our ceiling. We have never had a major pest issue before, so this whole process was new for me. I reached out to Monster Pest Control after seeing some reviews here on Yelp, and I can 100% say that this company is a good company. The lady on the phone was very nice and explained the process their company and workers went through to help in a situation like ours and answered more questions the second time we called to confirm an appointment. A man by the name of Mark showed up right on time at our house two days later for a free inspection. He was very jovial and informative. He quickly diagnosed which kind of ants we were dealing with and quoted us a very fair price and was able to treat the interior and exterior at the same appointment. He went out of his way to show us where he believed the ants were coming in from and some preventative measures we could take to not have this issue again. What can you say about pest control? They get rid of the bugs. Our tenants had a problem with stink bugs swarming the house. Monster got rid of them and takes care of them every year as they migrate through. We feel like they address having the least about of environment impact possible as we ask them to focus on just this one infestation. About to call them about wasps under our porch! Never had the need for an exterminator until we started seeing moose poop in the garage. They're no longer cute since they broke my rule & started entering our property. Monster was very responsive in returning my call. I called over a holiday weekend & they returned my call promptly the next business day. Josh was my technician & he was extremely helpful & knowledgeable when it came to pest elimination. He baited the house with 6 stations, but he also had to make sure the bait was dog safe, since I have 3. He did that & within a week my mouse problem went away! Had an exterminator come out on Friday and I had a specific concern about spiders. Two days later I was bitten by a black widow in the home. The day after that my partner called and asked Monster to address the issue and rectify with a full inspection, preventative treatments, and traps. Monster never even called back let alone showed any concern about the failure of their service. I chose this company on the quality of its reviews and I imagine this is an atypical result. Monster pest control has come over twice: One time at the start of summer when they came and cleaned out a bunch of wasps nests (including one so high I thought it was unreachable), which gave us a good reprieve for the summer. We were seeing some more wasps so I called them back, but there were no active wasp nests on our property (he knocked down two small inactive ones), so the wasps I see must be from my neighbour's houses. My condo building was working with a national vendor FOR A YEAR to try to eliminate a roach infestation. After each visit, the situation would improve for a week or so and then inevitably start up again. Eventually, we stopped seeing any improvement and it seemed hopeless. We reached out to other vendors and settled on Monster because of their communication and consistency. (We had about 3 or 4 last minute cancellations or no call no shows from other providers). Matt came by to do a pre-treatment inspection and took time to listen to specific areas of concern, such as furniture and the radiators which our previous vendor had dismissed. After taking a close look at the building, he let us know that not all the units needed a "full treatment" for the full price. I was skeptical, but went along with it because I figured only a legitimate vendor would say you need to spend less money with them. I'm pleased to say it has been two full months since my last live roach sighting and my neighbors are reporting the same. I've had some wasps (yellow jackets) in my townhome. I contacted Monster Pest Control through Yelp and got a reply very quickly. It was easy to then call to schedule an appointment for the next day. They book a two hour window and I got a text letting me know their ETA and they were on time. Mark was professional and knowledgeable. He properly wore a mask and gloves (COVID). As a woman, I'm always a little weary about getting ripped off by home services but Mark was straightforward and very easy to work with. He made me feel at ease and took time to explain things. Blown away. I know that's short and sweet, but that's the best way to describe my experience with Monster Pest Control. We contacted them after we heard what we thought were footprints / scratching in our air vents a few nights in a row (not fun, and not fun to admit -- but it happens). We heard back the same day and had something on the calendar for the very next day. Monster Pest Control sent someone over to do an inspection the next day. Mark was great. He showed up in the time window he said he would (and even texted in advance to give us a heads up he was on his way). He walked us through everything he was looking for during the inspection. He was thorough, a great communicator and very respectful of our house. Because he came on a snowy day, he was not able to get on our roof, which he said was part of the normal inspection process. We had to reschedule that for a warmer day. A few days out, we got a call to reschedule this follow-up visit. The same process was used: we got a 2 hour window and then communication when within that window Mark was going to be here. He again was prompt and communicative, and it didn't take him long to inspect our roof / chimney. We were lucky in that we came back 'clean' -- there was no indication of any pests (phew). I was floored when I found that there was no charge for the inspections (even though there were two of them!). Monster Pest Control will definitely get my business if we ever do encounter a true pest issue. Great customer service and experience. read more
