I called to set up service for our cabin. Our cabin is not a place that can be found without someone leading them in since it is up old mining roads that aren't signed (no, GPS does not lead you there). I called 3 different times, asking for someone from the branch who will be taking care of this to call me to confirm where we will meet so that I don't drive 1.5 hours to meet them at a designated spot and have them not show up. The call center took notes, assured me they'd get the message to the branch manager and also to Jack, who would be doing the service. No call from them. I have been using Orkin Pest Control at our business for over a year now, and they have done a great job! We had reports from our employees of some mean scary mice around the office and it was slowing things down as people walked on chairs and climbed across tables to get from one side of the room to the other! Just kidding, it wasn't that extreme, but we called Orkin anyway and they sent this nice man over who did exactly what I wanted him to do: get rid of all the pests! He's my hero! And now our employees can sleep through meetings again! ;-) read more

I've lived in my condo since 2003 when the building was constructed. I'm next to a small park and the Legacy Ridge golf course is across the street. We regularly see foxes and other wildlife running around, and the area is infested with spiders. When you walk on the sidewalks between my condo buildings in the summer the spiders run all over the cement in front of you. It's kind of freaky. And they've always been in my house. There was rarely a day when one of them wasn't booking across the carpet or sneaking across a wall. I tried a lot of remedies bought at Home Depot and it barely made a dent. I finally gave up and called Orkin six months ago. In my situation the initial visit was $139. Then I pay $89 every two months to have them come out every other month to spray and put down spider traps. At first, I still had a few spiders here and there and the traps always had dead ones in them. The traps in the garage were always like spider parties. But as each month passed I saw fewer and fewer spiders. Of course, it's also winter time now and that has something to do with it. But I haven't seen a single spider in two months and that never happened before. Not even close. I'm happy! So why not five stars? Scheduling has always been filled with issues. I don't think a single appointment has happened without something messing it up. For example, two months ago I asked them to call a week in advance to schedule something with me. I was out of town last week and the Orkin Man called to say that he came by but I wasn't home. I've called twice now and no one has called me back. It may be just this one office with the issue. Hopefully it's not a company-wide problem. But if you can put up with scheduling problems every other month then it's worth it because no one should have to live with spiders all over the place. We called Orkin for a mouse problem. According to the customer service representative, they place 'sophisticated' traps, using modern technology to trap your mouse problem and prevent them from coming back with Orkin's exceptional service. Guess what? Orkin man to the rescue was not the case. Some idiot walked around our house with a small flashlight, waving it around, as if it was going to magically round up the mice like the pied piper's flute. We asked him to check the bathroom (where a recent mouse was sighted) and he waved the magic flashlight and..nothing. UNTIL 1 hour after he left, I pulled the towel off the rack that he looked right at, saying 'mice can't climb more than 24 inches high' and BAM a dead f*cking mouse fell right on my head. I guess I got some immersion therapy for my mouse phobia for free, but seriously?? You can keep your $300, you bunch of morons, Orkin. read more

We needed pest control ASAP after trapping two mice. We had seen signs of mice in our house for about three weeks. I did some minor mitigation work, applying peppermint oil around areas where I'd found poop. This probably worked as advertised (mice apparently hate the smell of peppermint oil), as they finally made an appearance within our living space. I called Orkin's national number on Sunday and they scheduled a guy to come out the next morning. The phone rep talked about an initial fee of $267 plus $92 every other month thereafter for round-the-clock service. Given the circumstances, I was on board. The technician came by and walked with us around the house, examined the garage, basement, electrical room and crawl space. He pointed out areas where he thought they were gaining access and advised us on mitigation and extermination. It was also his opinion that perhaps we had just one family of mice at this point, a very containable situation if we get out ahead of it. Then, he said that yes, they would charge $267 IF we wanted him to do all the mitigation and trapping work. He was the first, however, to state that it's likely something we can spend $50 and some time doing ourselves. No charge for inspection. I even offered to pay him for his time and advice, but he left without leaving a bill. My husband noticed that we had what he thought were bird mites on Tue night. We weren't certain that's what they were but did some research and found we had a birds nest a foot from our window that was probably the cause. My husband called the after hours for Orkin and spoke with a woman who took down our information. My husband received a message the next day with a gentleman leaving a number to callback. Unfortunately the number was just the call center, not anyone that could schedule an inspection. The call center said our local branch would call us. The local branch called again and left the same call center number as a callback number. Again getting us nowhere. It's now Thursday and we have yet to receive a phone call to schedule an inspection. We have since taken care of the nest but still want an inspection. I called Orkin again today and was transfered to the Denver branch and shared my frustration. I was told that my number was the one on file to call. (I've not received one call only my husband) They said I would be getting a call from Pat to get something scheduled for maybe tomorrow........ fingers crossed! I finally got a phone call back and Pat gave me advice and said that it wasn't necessary for them to come out since we got rid of the nest. The mites will die off.......still grosses me out. read more
