This is possibly the worst food I've ever had. Not sure what's wrong with the tastebuds of the people leaving all these rave 5 star reviews. Chicken was dry, unseasoned and not even close to anything I would refer to as chicharron de pollo. My husband had the fried fish, which was very fishy and lacked seasoning yet again. For a Chinese/Spanish spot to dish out, dry flavorless fried rice is just really disappointing.

I have tried their Chicharron De Pollo and Bistec Palomilla with pork fried rice and house special fried rice with tostones. Both tasty meals I highly suggest. What I don't suggest is their fried shrimp.. barely any taste and they it doesn't come with tartar sauce!

Second time at this restaurant. Must say this time around it was disappointing. I understand that the time we went it was Easter Sunday and it was extremely busy. My party arrived at the restaurant around 8 pm. We were able to get on the waiting list. We waited for about 15-20 min before we were seated. We ordered food and it came fairly quickly due to the amount of people. However, some of the items didn't come until we were done eating. The avocado and the tostones came after we when done eating. Also while we were eating the staff was cleaning and spilled a bunch of water that ended up underneath our table and the table next to us. Overall this restaurant has great food and usually a good atmosphere. I'll chalk this up to it was busy and they had a bad night. ***UPDATE*** Today I returned to this restaurant in order to give it another chance and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing. The crowd was nothing like the last time. Maybe 15-20 ppl there. The food arrived hot and fresh. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there meal. Staff was courteous and helpful. Last review was a 2. This tone it improved to a 4. Guess that second time was a bad night.

No onions or anything added at all.

I've had the sesame chicken and general Tso chicken, they were both fine. Just spent 60 dollars on dinner for my family and the pollo encebodallo had no onions whatsoever. No taste at all. The churrasco steak didn't come with any sauce at all, just dry placed on top of rice. Very underwhelming and disappointing.

Foid may be good, but they do not hire enough workers. We waited 30 minutes and Noone helped us. Finally we just decided to leave.

I wish there were more locations of this in Manhattan. We made an order at the desk before we seated ourselves and for a Saturday evening, there was quite a bit of open tables which was great. I ordered the Szechuan Braised Beef Noodles and they were absolutely delicious. The noodles tasted a bit like ramen noodles but they were able to grab all the delicious and garlic flavored soup. I really appreciated the soft-boiled egg with its marinated egg whites. I also loved the big tender beef chunks as well. Overall, I really cannot wait to go back to Zhongzhong noodles and I hope that they open up more locations. I will say though that since I last went to the Roosevelt Island location, they have raised their prices quite a bit - maybe $2 or $3 per dish.

We have a staple restaurant from which we always order but one of this place's dishes stuck out to me and had great reviews so that was what made me take a chance with them. I saw this picture of their Shrimp Chow Mei Fun everywhere and the shrimp were huge. People said it was a really good dish so I had to try it. I will say that it tastes really good but this recession has definitely affected the shrimp size. They serve medium-sized shrimp in this dish and the pictures where saw extra large shrimp, are likely no more. The flavor was still really good and I suggest asking for some chili oil as well, if you don't have any at home. That's a game-changer. We had their sesame chicken, shrimp dumplings, sautéed broccoli and wonton soup, which were all very good. They even pan fried the dumplings as requested. Their shrimp and egg rolls were fried very hard which I don't like. It's a little difficult for my daughter to eat the hard exterior as well. The fantail shrimp were very sad. I'm used to them being mostly breading but these are ridiculous. The shrimp size is a fourth of the overall breading. If it's getting too expensive to serve them, they may want to take them off the menu entirely and just serve fried shrimp or popcorn shrimp. They were literally that size. The house fried rice was also not a favorite. I'm not into super dark fried rice and it just seemed really hard. This is your run-of-the-mill neighborhood Chinese takeout spots I wasn't expecting gold standards but now I know how to order from them in the future if I ever have another craving for their Chow Mei Fun.
