This area used to be filled with garment factories and now it has become a trendy, aesthetically hipster, tech and design-driven neighborhood with amazing food. The amazing food part is mostly because of places like Sōhn and Neighbor Bakehouse. First of all, Sōhn's space is very aesthetically pleasing with so much open space with strong industrial-minimalist elements. Food just made it better. I got their very popular Galbi patty melt and because it was so good, I got another one to go for my husband. And a cup of hot tea. Wow! The Galbi patty melt was so juicy and delicious. I definitely get why they are so popular. The service was friendly as well. When I came in, the staff was friendly and asked if I was eating in or take out and directed me inside. It was very busy with a lot of people, so i opted to sit downstairs in the bar area. Enjoyed my patty melt and people watching. Located on 3rd St and 22nd St.
The matcha was pretty good here! I appreciate the color. I was hoping to grab food to go as well but perhaps not doing takeout after 4 PM? I do appreciate the cookie treat that an employee gave me!
Brief Summary: - Located in Dogpatch - Close to a MUNI stop - Impressive interior that is comfortable and relaxing -- so many seats yet they're so full - Suggested to enter early because the known pastries sell out fast - Quiet ambience with mild to quiet chatter Sohn is a memorably good place to relax with my friend on a weekend afternoon. It was perfect for the slow, introverted energy duo. We arrived later than estimated but that is alright for the weekend meetup, so we have noticed that most of the pastries or food that we saw on yelp photos were sold out. However, they still offered the sandwich on a crispy pastry. (I chose the meat patty). It was also very popular, so there was a 15 minute line from the door. When it was our turn, the staff asked if we prefer to sit on the lounge, and to be frank, that was the spot I wanted to sit. When I saw browsing through the photos and saw the lounge space, I thought, wow, I would like to be there, so in a way, my little dream came true. When we arrived in the lounge, there were three guests sitting but near finished. In a few moments they left, so this corner was --for a good long while -- a spot to ourselves. This area had 2 couches, one large table, a small one, and 2 more comfy single sofas. It was stationed in a corner, so there was a balcony view to peer down the first floor. There was a tiny standee with the QR code, so we ordered iced lattes (it was a hot day that day) and the two patties. We also ordered a large cookie. In the order of food arrival, the sandwiches arrived first and the cookie was next. It took a while for the coffee to arrive. I remember the patty was so juicy, I was being careful not to let it drip. It was a hearty good hamburger in a way. Generally, the lounge experience was exactly what we wanted, so it was the highlight of our meetup. I recall chatting about lots of things, catching up and sharing some metaphorical tea.
Weekend morning coffee run. Group of three. Was about a 20 min wait in line to dine in. Also had a Sundae Social pop up, which was routed through the to-go line which I think was a smart decision to keep the dine-in line reasonable. I get the same drink every time. Banana oat milk hojicha. Love the roasted notes alongside a really well made banana milk. Also got t the popcorn chicken which I really enjoy. Juicy and I love the little rice cakes it comes with.
My friend and I were at a nearby bakery in the Dogpatch area when she suggested grabbing coffee at Sohn. I'd heard so many good things about Sohn but haven't had the time to make the trek out there until recently, so we headed over and joined the back of the queue. Since there were only two of us, we were seated immediately. I was amazed at how large the space was; there were two floors of seating area and a large bar in the center, with plenty of spacing in between tables. This was a sharp departure from the typical SF coffee shop, many of which are mere holes in the wall. After ordering via QR code, our drinks were brought out to our table in about ten minutes. I tried the hojicha latte with oat milk since I don't see those on many menus, and the latte was smooth, slightly nutty, and creamy. I regret not ordering food because the breakfast sandwiches, which are served on sesame seed-topped pastries, looked exquisite. Now that I've scoped it out, I can definitely envision myself coming back here on a weekend morning for coffee and a hearty breakfast.
Sohn is a nice cafe to work from. They have plenty of seating both on the first floor and second floor. They also have WiFi and outlets accessible. Their drinks and food are delicious. The service is quick - you can order with a QR code on the table and they'll bring your order to you.
Sohn's standout quality is its ambiance and environment (cafe and food are excellent). 2-story tall ceiling open space with the bar in the center on the first floor - uniquely big space. I liked the hosted seating, which made it feel more relaxed without customers buzzing around vulturing for tables. I was impressed by the acoustics in the space. While it was full and lively, the sound wasn't deafening, allowing me to carry conversation at a pleasant volume. They strike a nice mix between counter ordering and table service dining. Mobile ordering is from the table and food brought directly. Water, more utensils, to-go boxes and extra plates can be retrieved from a service station. And no sense of having to eat and rush out. Kimchee fried rice was excellent - having eaten this at many places this one is standout for its flavor and textures. Breakfast sandwich was special with the croissant bun. The sandwich is somehow so soft, yet not soggy. Gochuchang cookie was very good balance of flavor considering its namesake ingredient. It's perfect texture of soft and chewy. I'd suggest taking one (or 2!) home to enjoy later. Sausage pastry was my least favorite of the items I ordered, but savory pastry is just not my preference.
I loved: Banana Oat Milk w/ Hojicha I liked: Gochujang Caramel Cookie Matcha Cream Top The Banana Oat Milk w/ Hojicha is a full-body experience. You get every note of the drink, from the banana to the oat milk to the hojicha, and somehow everything comes through without overpowering each other. Absolutely incredible and easily the standout here. #goodeats The Gochujang Caramel Cookie has a really nice texture and flavor. It starts off sweet and caramel-forward, then you get a small kick from the gochujang at the end. The Matcha Cream Top is fine, but it feels like a pretty standard matcha drink and absolutely pales in comparison to the Banana Oat Milk w/ Hojicha. The interior has a very modern cafe feel. It's cool, spacious, and nicely designed. We ordered from a tablet and left right after, so there wasn't much interaction with the staff, but the process was quick and easy.
We really loved the Seoul sausage pepper croissant and would definitely order it again on our next visit. The galbi patty melt was another standout item that we thoroughly enjoyed. We were super excited to try Eric's gochujang cookie, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype and felt pretty average. As for drinks, they were decent overall. We tried the Melona matcha, but the execution was a bit off. You have to wait for the ice cream bar to melt into the drink, which leaves you with a mouthful of sweet Melona at the end rather than a cohesive, well blended drink. I liked my hojicha. Just keep in mind that they do not take reservations. We arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday and waited outside in line for about 30 minutes, so plan to get there early.
The banana oat milk matcha latte was thick and rich. The banana oat milk base wasn't too sweet and had small chunks of banana (so you know it's legit!). Matcha was strong; I definitely felt the jitters while I was sitting at the bar lol. The galbi patty melt was unique; first time eating a burger in a croissant HAHA. Didn't get much of a "galbi" taste, but still good! My neighbors had gotten the kimchi fried rice, spicy noodle salad, and popcorn chicken, all of which were my next options, but I didn't have that much stomach space. They all looked and smelled really good so I'll have to try them some other time. The vibes and layout of the space are super cool! An awesome feature is artwork from Asian American artists throughout the space for sale, and all proceeds go to the artists directly. Service can be a little confusing since you order at your seat via QR code, and water/drink adjustments are self-service. But you'll figure it out!
Got a takeout order (order at kiosk on right-side of counter). Highly recommend their regular OG breakfast sandwich ~ the egg was so eggcellently eggecuted (smooth yet fluffy), paired with the bacon onion jam, and the croissant bun was perfectly layered + flaky (not doughy inside) w/ a nice toasted sesame crunch. Their galbi patty was good too, reminiscent of a Philly cheesesteak. I also tried their banana oat milk latte w/ decaf espresso, and unfortunately it wasn't too pleasant tasting to me, as the decaf espresso was on the sour side & it didn't complement the banana flavor (puree) that well. Maybe their matcha or hojicha version works better. Overall, I would return for their unique & well executed breakfast sandwich. Staff were nice + helpful. For a Friday afternoon around 2:45pm, there was no line for takeout orders, and there didn't appear to be a wait for dine-in (people were still intermittently arriving at that time to get seated). I parked on 3rd Street, half a block away = street metered parking = cost $7.34 for 2 hours :(
We visited Sohn on a Thursday around 3 pm. The space itself has a really nice atmosphere and seems like a great spot to study or get work done. Parking is street parking and can be limited. We tried the Matcha Oat Milk Latte, Espresso Oat Milk Latte, and Melona Matcha, but unfortunately all three had a bad aftertaste that we couldn't quite place. I'm not sure if it came from the sweetener or another ingredient, but after trying multiple drinks, it seemed pretty consistent. The Galbi Melt was good, although it felt a little pricey for what it was and probably isn't something I'd go out of my way to order again. You're seated at a table and order through a QR code. Shortly after we sat down, we were told they were closing at 4 pm, which was completely understandable. What felt a little strange was that around 3:45, a staff member seemed to hover near our table and we felt somewhat rushed to leave. We assumed everyone was being cleared out, but noticed several other customers still seated and eating normally as we walked out. I really wanted to like Sohn because I love the space, but the drinks and overall experience were disappointing for me. I think improving the consistency of the drinks and making the closing experience feel a little less rushed would make me more inclined to come back.
The verdict is out...Sohn is worth the hype! Sohn runs like a well-oiled machine. They manage the flow of people extremely well, from the line snacks (yum!), the guiding you to your server, and the QR menu/tab (I'm usually not a fan of, but things come out FAST). Bustling and a loud inside on a weekend with only a few tables working on laptops. The food was great and the price point was even better. We had nearly 1 of everything plus a drink each and it was ~25pp. Basically, you can't go wrong and sharing is caring. My points of feedback - with how diverse and interesting Korean cuisine is, I wish they experimented more with different ferments, not just gochujang. More vegetarian options would be nice. Lastly, a sauce with the popcorn chicken would take the rice cakes to the next LEVEL!
Reviews are largely positive. People highlight the spacious, modern interior, friendly, efficient service, and creative Korean-inspired menu.

The Dogpatch area is leveling up. There has been a recent influx of bakeries, one of which was Sohn. Such a great edition to the neighborhood. Whenever I pass by, there's always a line. Luckily, it moves pretty quickly. I believe they even allow people to work on their laptops. The food is amazing. Highly recommend the popcorn chicken and spicy cold buckwheat noodle salad. Drinks are great as well. Amazing that cream tops are becoming a thing in the Bay Area. Cannot get enough of the banana oat milk lattes. They have the occasional community events after hours and sometimes some pop ups, which all look amazing. Sohn should be one of the cafes on your list. read more
===TL;DR=== - Iced hojicha latte $5.50 - Iced yuja perilla espresso tonic $7 ===TMI=== Came here during their SF Elorea event so thought I try their drinks. Interior is this off white with warm and soft ambient lighting. Downstairs had a cozy couch and high chair hybrid corner to the left with bar seating in the middle and then they have this U shape setup for upstairs seating. Hojicha latte - great price but this did not taste like the hojicha profile I'm familiar with. In other words, I didn't like it. I wouldn't be able to tell this was a hojicha latte if I tasted this blindly. It just tasted very grainy, doesn't have that rich toasty nutty sweetness I'm used to. Tbh, idk what I was drinking at that point. Wouldn't recommend. Yuja perilla espresso tonic - if you need a wake up call, a punch in the face, this is the drink for you. Complex flavor profile. Very zesty citrusy and herby. It kind of softens up as the ice melts so the end was more enjoyable. Really wanted to like this trendy cafe that's all over social media but this time, it didn't deliver for me. Overall, I think I'll just try their coffee series next time. PSA: parking here is like a nightmare. Limited meter parking. I've seen cars just getting meter maid tickets left and right. Recommend to take public transportation or rideshare. read more

When it comes to flavored matcha lattes, this is one of the best I've had! I ordered the seasonal melona matcha latte and the melona flavor was so good! I highly recommend! read more
Spent time near Dogpatch and re-discovered this spot that had been on my list. We sauntered by and noted the lengthy dine-in weekend crowds, so we ordered food to go. The cafe was spacious with a second floor, and the interior was filled with cozy Asian fruit artwork and contemporary furniture. It was too late in the day for matcha, so I opted for a banana oat hojicha latte. It was refreshing and a bit too sweet for my taste, but the hojicha was roasty and tasted like quality tea. The banana flavor was a bit artificial, reminiscent of that Korean supermarket banana milk. We also tried the popcorn chicken and galbi patty melt. The popcorn chicken was crunchy with a bit of sweetness at the edges, but some pieces lacked crispy batter or substantial meat. The mochi pieces were a bit hard for my mouth as well, slightly harder than al dente. I wonder if it would taste better if heated up further. Galbi patty melt lacked any flavors I'd associate with Korean food. It was a pretty basic croissant sandwich with cheese and cooked onions. The meat was satisfying to eat after wandering around town for a few hours. Overall, the menu was inventive, but the food didn't impress me too much. I'd come back to try their melona matcha, though. read more
Hojicha banana oat latte was the perfect mix of the sweet banana flavor paired with the bitter hojicha. Drank before mixing and recommend giving it a good stir. Make sure you like banana before ordering this drink! Ordered on the QR code before realizing I'd like a light ice adjustment. Service was so fast, the drink was brought to my table before she could even pass along my ask. Arrived shortly upon opening, tons of seating upstairs lined with wall outlets for laptop work and free WiFi (code at the table). It wasn't until I took off my noise cancelling headphones, that I realized how loud the ambient noise and music was. Good to keep in mind for meetings. read more

We’re glad you enjoyed the space and took the time to settle in once…
I came here to do some work and also get a quick breakfast/drink. They had an interesting way of seating people for a cafe - runs more like a restaurant, but it made sense with how busy cafes with wifi can get. You're greeted at the door by an employee - if you want to dine-in, you get a seat somewhere. It is in a warehouse, so it's pretty spacious and they don't seem to run out of seats. Wifi is reliable! Food-wise, I got the banana matcha and famous breakfast sandwich. The matcha was more banana than matcha, which was a first for me (sometimes feels like there is no banana flavoring at all at other cafes) - on the sweeter side, but not bad! The sandwich was hard to eat bc it fell apart easily. On the lighter side, but I appreciate the Korean twist to it! The egg is steamed and they have a bacon/onion jam. The gochujang cookie definitely has a slight kick to it! Interesting flavoring, but it works somehow. Would definitely come back to work here and grab a quick drink if I'm in the area again! read more
Sohn had been on my list for a while, so I finally stopped by around 3:30 PM before heading to CORTIS concert. Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at 4 PM and had already stopped taking hot food orders, so we didn't get to try the kimchi fried rice that I had been looking forward to. We still ordered the Seoul Sausage Pepper Croissant, which was savory, flaky, and really good. For drinks, we tried the Sohn Signature Cream Top Matcha and espresso, and enjoyed both. The cream top made the matcha feel like a nice little treat without taking away from the matcha flavor. The cafe itself is huge, with plenty of seating and a modern, spacious atmosphere. It would be a great place to hang out with friends or settle in and get some work done. I definitely want to come back earlier next time to try their hot food, especially the kimchi fried rice! read more
Be prepared to wait in a long line on weekends! The space has great seating but a lot of parties don't leave for a while--which is great vibes but creates a long wait time. As a lover of matcha, Asian food, and aesthetic environments--the wait is worthwhile. I love sitting in an area where the natural lighting and decor is on point. It's especially better when I enjoy delicious matcha and tasty food! I tried their Melona Matcha latte and IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! Definitely brings back some nostalgia with the Melona bar flavor -- it was so good I ordered a 2nd one to go. My husband had their Banana Oat Milk latte and it was a good balance of flavor and sweetness (not too sweet). We also tried their popcorn chicken, kimchi fried rice, and galbi patty melt. Next time I'd skip the patty melt--flavor was good but it was messy and not worth $16 IMO. the kimchi fried rice and chicken were worth it tho! read more
Beautiful, sleek, and airy cafe with a warm, minimalist aesthetic. Cool seeing the earthenware, kimchi pots lined across the counter. Two lines: one for dine-in and one for takeout. The dine-in line was at least 20-40 minutes, so we did takeout. I've seen a lot of hype about this place and I'm not sure it lives up to it. The space is gorgeous, and I suspect that makes up more of the experience than the actual food. Portions didn't look that big for the dishes, and pricing is about SF standard ($14 for a noodle salad). We opted for the gochujang cookie and the yuja perilla espresso tonic. Gochujang cookie was pleasantly soft, but sorely lacked any of the spice and umami from gochujang. Tasted like a regular sugar cookie to me. Yuja espresso tonic was tasty, but nothing to write home about -- we got it mostly because it was a hot day and wanted something refreshing (definitely something you could make yourself at home for way less :-)). read more
The line on a weekend was long but moved quickly. I tried a hojicha latte with oat milk ($5.50), popcorn chicken ($10), Seoul sausage pepper croissant ($6.75), and Eric's gochujang caramel cookie ($4). The hojicha latte was tasty! Not too sweet with a strong tea flavor, while still very creamy. I would try some of their signature drinks next time. Of the food options I tried, I liked the popcorn chicken the most. The chicken pieces were seasoned well and very juicy. I found the crispy rice cakes super addicting. The Seoul sausage pepper croissant had a lot going on, while also not having too much flavor at the same time. There was cheese, sausage, sauce, and pastry and my brain had a hard time figuring out what to focus on. Another reviewer mentioned that the gochujang caramel cookie mostly tasted like a sugar cookie and I would have to agree. I was hoping it would have a punchier spiciness to it! The cookie had a nice and chewy texture though. read more
I love this cafe! I was in the area and wanted a place to work at so I went here. It was busy even in the mornings but the staff does a good job with seatings. I got the matcha latter and the yuja perilla espresso tonic. It was both really good but I think their yuja espresso was more unique and flavorful. I would also come back for the food and pastries too! read more

Came back to try the Melona Matcha, the breakfast sandwich and the popcorn chicken. The Melona matcha was good, it had good melon flavor that didn't taste artificial and didn't overwhelm the matcha. I loved the breakfast sandwich! The egg soufflé was light and was delicious with the bacon jam. The popcorn chicken was tasty too, the seaweed powder gave it some additional flavor. It also came with some fried tteokbokki bits which were chewy and had a good texture. We came at 11:30 and there was a line for dine in but it moved more quickly than I thought. We probably waited only 10-15mins. Definitely prefer to dine in since the cafe is so nice inside. Love the decor and the vibes. read more

We’re really glad you enjoyed the space, drinks, and food!…
Came here with a couple of friends last weekend a little before 11am. There was a line when we arrived but the wait wasn't too long. This was my second visit but my first dine-in. We got seated upstairs. I ordered a Spicy Cold Noodle Salad and a Signature Cream Top Espresso. I debated on trying the matcha but ultimately went with the espresso since I really liked it the first time I tried it. The noodles were really refreshing. As someone with a lower spice tolerance, the spice was okay. It was spicy but I was able to manage and finished the whole plate without long-lasting effects. read more

The drinks were okay. Food was good, and popcorn chicken was great - I do prefer less rice cakes though! Lots of people with laptops here. Very aesthetic, I do think given how many laptops were out on a weekend, I feel like there should be a seating limit or atleast unplugged on weekends? Overall it's a cool cafe, you have to wait to get seated so not your typical cafe. The breakfast sandwich was good. Parking can be tough. Cool to try once. read more
Finally got to try Sohn! Came here on a Sunday afternoon. There was a line out the door for both takeout and dine-in but the line moved pretty fast. Seemed like a very smooth operation with staff on walkie talkies coordinating open seating. There's a spacious loft area with comfortable, seating (mix of mostly tables and some couches that are communal seating). Majority of people were hanging around on their laptops. Lots of lovely natural lighting inside. I got the breakfast sandwich (without cheese) and a decaf espresso banana oat milk latte. My sandwich came out first. The eggs were fluffy and bacon jam had a nice sweetness. It was delicious, a bit greasy and surprisingly messy to eat. The drink was delightful. Strong espresso taste and just a hint of banana. "Not too sweet." Just perfect. I would come back again to try more of their drinks! read more
This place came highly recommended during our visit to San Francisco. It's a trendy place with a line but definitely worth the wait. The best food we tried was the fried chicken with rice cakes. We also tried their seasonal drink, Melona soda, and matcha which were both delicious! read more
Wonderful experience for my first time at Sohn! I was greeted like how you would at a restaurant and was led to a table! But the ordering process is through their QR code. I ordered the Banana Hojicha latte and it was amazing. Both flavors were so strong yet so complementary to each other! There's tons of searing both upstairs and downstairs. I love the wood decor, white walls, and framed pictures as decoration OH not to forget that there was wifi and outlets-- optimum wfh spot! read more

Stopped by Sohn and left impressed. I ordered the einspanner latte, popcorn chicken, and cold noodles, and every dish was a hit. The popcorn chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the mochi served alongside it was such a fun touch that worked really well. The einspanner latte was smooth and balanced, and the cold noodles were refreshing and packed with flavor. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, and the quality really stood out. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and one I'd recommend if you're looking for a great meal and coffee in SF. Service was terrific. The aesthetic was very peaceful. read more

Sohn is a great place to work from or study. Theres a solid amount of tables and seating upstairs and the interior design is great. Ordering is also easy if you are eating in. Scan the qr code to order and they'll bring your drinks/food up to you I thought the food was quite good. I ordered the Galbi Patty Melt which came in the form of a croissant sandwich that had a great size and flavors. A friend ordered the kimchi fried rice. The portions and flavors on both were solid for a cafe. Definitely worth getting some food if youre planning on staying for a while. For coffee, i ordered the sohn signature cream top. This was a little underwhelming, as i felt the espresso didnt come through as strongly as i would have liked. The cream top also did not have much flavor which made it feel more like a normal latte than a signature item. Not bad, but not a must have either. Overall will come back. Good vibes, and a solid place to work from. There are some tables upstairs that are right under the AC, so it can be a little breezy read more

Finally checked out Sohn after seeing all the hype, and I was surprised it's so close to my office. The biggest thing to know is parking. It can be tough right by the café, but there are residential streets a short walk away with 1-, 2-, and 4-hour parking, so it wasn't too bad once I found a spot. The staff were friendly, but one thing caught me off guard: if you're by yourself, you can't sit at one of the larger tables. They'll ask you to sit at the communal table or with others so they can maximize seating. I went on a Friday, and it seemed like a lot of people were working remotely, so it was pretty busy. I ordered one of their signature drinks. One small inconvenience: you can't add extra espresso through the QR ordering system, so I had to place a separate order with the barista to add a triple shot because I needed the caffeine. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. The coffee itself was pretty good, but not something I'd specifically crave. I honestly came more for the vibe, and the atmosphere definitely lived up to the hype. One pleasant surprise was the Wi-Fi. Even with so many people working there, it was fast and reliable, and I didn't have any issues. I didn't get to try the food this visit, but I'd definitely come back to give it a shot. Next time I'll bring a friend so we can grab our own table, since seating gets pretty tight. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for a cozy café to work or catch up with someone. Just be prepared for limited parking, communal seating if you're solo, and know that the experience is more about the atmosphere than the coffee itself. read more

This is my go to spot when i'm craving a snack-ey type of food in the morning! This place is a solid spot especially how spacious and clean the area is. The service is always great! For food, i recommend the patty sandwich and the popcorn chicken!!! read more
I came back to Sohn with a friend who was visiting from SoCal, and since we were already nearby, I had to put him onto this place. After my first visit, I knew I had to bring someone else here to try it, and this time we decided to try some of their food. We got the Sohn Breakfast Sandwich and Galbi Patty Melt to share, and let me tell you, we absolutely finished everything within 5 minutes. It was that good. I usually don't even like sandwiches that much, but these were honestly so enjoyable that I didn't mind at all. Both were flavorful, filling, and had such a good balance of textures that made every bite satisfying. Of course, we had to get the Sohn Signature Matcha Cream Top again because it's one of my favorites. The cream top is so smooth and pairs really well with the matcha without being overly sweet. We also tried the Banana Matcha Oat Milk Latte, and I was actually surprised by how much I liked it. I usually don't like banana-flavored things, but this was one of the few banana drinks that I didn't mind. The banana flavor wasn't too overpowering, and it blended nicely with the matcha and oat milk. I'm really glad I came back and got to try more of their menu. Sohn is definitely becoming one of those places I keep wanting to bring people to because there's always something new to try. read more

We’re really glad you made the visit, it means a lot to hear it lived…
Stopped by here for an event; it was packed! Waited in line for about 20 minutes and got in, but the drinks and snacks were free. I was able to try a bit of every food item they offered, and wow, that burger slider they had on a croissant roll was AMAZINGGGG! The drinks were also spectacular; I had the Matcha and a regular coffee, and both were flavorful and hit the spot. The ambiance was busy and vibeful due to the event, but it was a great atmosphere. I'll be coming back when I stop for a coffee soon! read more

We went at 1pm on Sunday, and luckily there was no line. (There was a huge line when we were leaving at 2 pm.) We got the kimchi fried rice, buckwheat noodles, patty melt, popcorn chicken. I was most excited for the patty melt, but in the end it was the most disappointing. It was just kind a dry burger, with no special flavor. The croissant bun was nice. However I was pleasantly surprised by the cold noodle salad and the popcorn chicken which came with fried tteoboki. The melona soda was fun too, but too much ice and not enough soda. Overall, the food and drink was moreover average, but! the pricing is very fair. Convenient location next to Dogpatch Boulders read more

I stopped by (literally today haha) on a beautiful sunny Saturday, and I was in the mood for a good matcha place to treat myself to. I've had this place saved for awhile, and I was anxious to try it on a sunny Saturday, knowing that reviews often mention a long wait. To my surprise, my visit went well and I waited under 30 minutes!! **There's 2 separate lines - To dine in, and to go. I ordered to go. FOOD: 9/10 MATCHA: 8/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 SERVICE: 9/10 What I ordered: Kimchi Fried Rice ($14) Iced Matcha with Oat-milk and Sweetener ($6) FOOD: 9/10 The kimchi fried rice was so good! I loved how they were not shy with the garnishments (seaweed and green onions). I love that it already came with a well cooked fried egg and I did not have to pay for extra which is rare. I did notice the fried rice was a little bit on the sweeter side but not too sweet, hence why I give it a 9/10. MATCHA: 8/10 They have GOOD quality matcha! I give it an 8 because personally, it was too strong for me despite paying extra for sweetener. It honestly did not taste like they added sweetener so I had to add my own at home. But honestly, their Matcha can easily be a 9/10 rating for those who just like matcha and milk on it's own. There's no doubt the matcha was good quality, whisked well, and not grainy. AMBIANCE: 10/10 I loved the aesthetic and ambiance at Sohn. It's very spacious both for the waiting area and to dine in. There's an upstairs and downstairs, and I noticed there was kitchen-side seating as well. Sohn is modern, sleek, and elegant but not overly decorated. SERVICE: 9/10 Although when ordering to go, you order on your own through the kiosk so you don't really encounter much interactions with the staff. However, there is a staff member that was at the front, directing people when to come in and wait, etc. and she was very nice! I even asked her a few questions about the menu and she was very detailed and kind. I definitely would come back but also in no rush to, since parking wasn't that great. read more

Hip, Korean fusion cafe with abridged food and extensive drink menu. My friend and I checked out this place. We were able to get in on a Saturday afternoon after a short wait. We ordered the popcorn chicken, kimchi fried rice, and hojicha with an espresso shot latte. I was glad that there were gluten free options. The popcorn chicken was unfortunately a little salty, which went well with the fried rice. The hojicha latte was missing the light sweetness that we ordered. Ambiance was light and airy. And there's an elevator in case you don't want to use the stairs to get to the upstairs. read more
