Service was warm, friendly, and quick. The servers answered all our questions thoroughly and were highly knowledgeable about both the dinner and wine menus. The charcuterie platter was mid. Given this is an Italian restaurant, pepper jack cheese felt like the wrong choice, and it was a mistake to trim all the fat off the prosciutto di Parma. The presentation was great, but I would pass on it next time. The special menu had some promising dishes. I tried the asparagus risotto with chili shrimp. The flavor was there and the shrimp was cooked nicely, but the risotto was way too liquidy. I also tried the pappardelle with due pomodori and added guanciale. This was delish, and I would order it every single time I dine here. All in all, this is a great little date spot or a fun place to share food and wine with friends. Check them out!

Our waitress name was Claire and we hit the jackpot. So personable, friendly and made the night super special. We also met the manager/operator Joe. We started with the Herloom Tomato Burrata appetizer which was very good. This fresh tomatoes (which needed a pinch more of some crunchy sea salt) with a light pesto, micro greens and burrata. Perfect combo eating bites with the grilled sourdough they bring along side. If you have Claire she'll bring you fresh butter and hot honey. Pro tip!!! This combo is undefeatable. And the wings. Next we got the Organic Arugula salad with hazelnuts, shaved pecorino and mint. Damn this salad was sleeper hit. Eat it with your pizza, the richness needs something to cut through it, this salad! We got the wild mushroom Pizza which Claire recommended, which ABSOLUTELY blew me away. So perfect crispy yet perfectly chewy at the same time. I think this is my new fav pizza in all of OC. Lucky me I live 1.7 miles away. OMG ya'll this pizza is worth a 2 hour drive to get here! To end the meal for my birthday they surprised us with a Panna Cotta. Beautiful like a perfect creme bruele in a latte cup topped with a nut sort of crumble and a mint leaf. PERFECT ending to an absolutely perfect meal. I've waited a while before posting this review because I wanted to be fair and separate the emotions surrounding our visit from the actual experience. The first day we stopped in, the drink machine was being replaced and the restaurant wasn't open. That was completely understandable. What was disappointing was the attitude we received from the young staff when we simply asked when they expected to reopen. We got the typical "I don't know" response, and when we tried asking a couple of follow-up questions for clarification, they seemed annoyed and really weren't interested in helping. We aren't from the area and had specifically made the trip over because of what this place meant to my mom. We figured the first experience was just an off moment, so we came back the next day when they were open. Unfortunately, the same general attitude from the young staff carried over and really took away from the experience. The food itself wasn't the problem--it was the lack of friendliness, hospitality, and basic customer service. Of course, they had no way of knowing why we were there, and we certainly didn't expect or feel the need to explain that we had just buried our mom. But that's also the point: you never really know why someone has walked through your door or what that visit might mean to them. I wish our experience had been different, especially because Cosentino's held such good memories for our family and for my mom. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to those memories. Gosh. Everything tasted so fresh, and was served quickly. Even the salad was good (I had a few bites but I'm not much of salad guy, this salad could change my mind!) Both pizzas were excellent. The champion cheese was really awesome. You can really taste the fresh tomatos and cheese. The crust was super crackly. They definitely nailed the crispiness. The la foresta had a nice dollop of ricotta on each slice that helped with the balance of the richness. Get the soft serve at the end of the meal! The issue was that the pizzas were super crispy and chewy that your jaw starts hurting to the point that you get kind of sore. However, I think it's totally a preference thing. There was also a wait of 25 min for your pizza since it was really busy. Aside from that, the service was excellent. Our server took really good care of us. Also, even though this was outdoor seating only, this spot was beautiful. They have lemon vines around and lots of great lighting inside. We'll definitely want to be back but probably when the hype of this place dies down a bit.
