Rylan's has been a consistently great breakfast & lunch spot since we moved to Franklin earlier this year. We love the way they treat you here. Biscuits & gravy are perfection. Omelettes, ham steak, crispy bacon! Also their chocolate cake is super tasty, I always bring home a slice. read more

We tried the restaurant Saturday afternoon but didn't realize they close at 12. We arrived at 11:45 and they seated us and took our order. I ordered a steak burger hold the mushrooms and fries, my wife ordered the chicken strips and fries. The food arrived pretty quickly to our table and was very hot from the kitchen. Out of respect for the workers we ate pretty quickly and my wife got a to go box for later. Food was good. Service was ok, not anything special. Not overly impressed. I ordered desserts for my family. The banana pudding was disgusting. Old bananas were brown and rotten. They really shouldn't serve stuff like this. It was a to-go order so I did not discover it until after I got home. Not particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the place either. read more

Second time there but the visit wasn't great. The side salad had 2 slivers of lettuce and quite a bit of potato sticks. When I asked about the waitress seemed offended and wouldn't add lettuce that this was the norm. I refused it and asked for corn. She never came back. The other waitress did. Messed up my order giving me casserole instead of mashed potatoes. Then they forgot the relish that was requested. Ketchup bottles were empty and we got up and got one from the other table. Then we get to the register to pay and they tried to charge us for a tea we didn't order. Sad. We will not be back. read more

From a friend: Rylan's Restaurant, Franklin KY, meat + 2, rolls or cornbread, he had a soda, I had water. Just under $25 with tax included. Good portion sizes but not too big. Tasty country meals, though my coleslaw was a bit sweeter than I prefer. Good menu from which to choose, includes sandwich plates, lots of sides, kids menu too. Friendly service, clean dining room, cushioned seats, clean and well supplied bathrooms. They are hiring so there was a *bit* of a wait for the meal to come but not too long at all. Four Local Stars. Our favorite Breakfast and Lunch place. Open for dinner too! They have great Biscuits and Gravy according to the hubby. They offer a fresh fruit side instead of potatoes at breakfast. overall a bit disappointed the past two trips. we've eaten here periodically for years after a 20 mile drive from Bowling Green and not what it used to be. my fried liver was far too strong in bitter taste and a bit tough. cole slaw and FF's were good. the wife's catfish was over-seasoned and not as good as we'd remembered. read more

In town for a couple days and was seeking some comfort food. Found it for sure at Rylan's. Seat yourself atmosphere with very friendly staff quickly attending to your needs. Small dining room but very relaxed style of experience. Had the reuben sandwich with tots. Portions were good and the sandwich was really good. The food was not "home made". It definitely wasn't cooked to order. The website states food takes longer because it's fresh. The hamburger was not fresh meat. The fried chicken did not take as long as "made to order" should to make. It was not impressive at all. The service was mediocre, at best. We were disappointed over all. One of those places where you walk in and you think "What a find", only to never visit here again. My friend and I came in here as I was craving a burger and they came upon the search. Staff was pleasant, sort of, but the food was challenged: 1. It took 20 minutes to get a burger and fries and it was 1:30 fully staffed. 2. Burger only covered 50% of the regular size hamburger bun. 3. Meat was so over cooked, had to cover it in ketchup. read more

So we came 2x. The first time, best service and food we've has. Second time, we would've never been back if it had been the first time. When traveling we try to find a local restaurant. This place is in and old Pizza Hut and the food was excellent! We got the special for lunch, BBQ on cornbread with 3 sides for $9! Generous portions and very good! All items made in house. read more

During a recent visit to Franklin, we stopped in for breakfast at Rylan's, and it was so good that we went back for breakfast a second time. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was that it truly seems to be where the locals hang out, which is always a good sign! The service was good, and the food was great. First off, whoever filed this as a "soul food" place is really confused. The nice White people who operate this place serve up some traditional home cooked Southern style fare that is most certainly not soul food. That's what I was expecting and that set this place up for a low star review from the start but their infectious welcoming attitude, small town charm, friendly pricing and neighborly service made me happy and content even before getting the food. $6.50 for a meat dish and three sides, high octane bottomless coffee cup, and let me tell you the food is delicious. Fresh home made pies and cobblers, I love this place. It's a short drive from I-65, if you're going to be traveling in the vicinity of Bowling Green and Nashville, make time for a breakfast or lunch stop here. Great Mom & Pop place! We found it on yelp! Looking for a place to get lunch. It was 3.5 miles off the interstate. Talking to the guys (assuming they were local) at the table next to us they said the catfish nuggets was really good. They did not disappoint! All our food was very good. The service was excellent. Tried this place for the first time today. I have to say I was not a fan. The food was not good. The service was absolutely horrible which made the food less appealing. The prices are nice which is a plus, but it's about the only good thing. I got the fat boy which was a burger topped with pulled pork and bacon. It was ok. It came with French fries. The burger was very heavy on the sodium content. The fries were unsalted and had very little flavor to them. No seasonings or anything. The service left much to be desired. The waitress did not seem happy to be there. She came by twice within 2 minutes and asked if i was ready to order. Had just sat down and was going over the menu. She came by one time after the the initial order to ask if i needed anything. I did kind of need a refill of my tea, which I was brought unsweet tea instead of sweet tea. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. A lot of things needs to change before I even think about coming back. read more

With the pandemic going on and most restaurants offering carry-out or drive-thru meals In Styrofoam boxes and plastic utensils it's nice to have a place to eat delicious home style cooking on a real plate with silverware. I'm talking about biscuits and gravy, omelets with cheese and veggies, hash browns and fresh fruit - all pleasantly served to you by a waitress that checks up on you to make sure that you are happy with your meal. This place is a true small town gem! We came into town, Mon. August 24 about 6:30 p.m. And we were starving! I Googled restaurants and Ryland's popped up. We figured, its got great reviews and its not junk food. So we went there to eat. We both ordered the 1 meat and 3. And were more than pleased and full for under 20$.
