Update! We tracked Ryan down and called him because our system battery was low. He came out free of charge and even went the extra mile to help us move one of our sensors. He's really a great guy and seriously amazing to work with. 5 stars over and over again. read more

This review is long overdue! back in 2004 or 2005... we bought a property on Park Avenue and was in the process of remodeling/reconstructing into our new office. It was vacant and only contained the construction workers' tools and equipment. One morning, it appeard as though someone was trying to rob the place. All the tools and equipment were lined up near the door. It seemed as though they were interrupted so they took off. Later that morning, I signed up for instant quotes from alarm companies, I can't remember what service this was, but obviously prior to Yelp! Three companies responded. I met with one company (can't remember which one, but I wasn't impressed), the second caller scheduled for the next day and the third happened to be Ryan Sharp. This was the very first time ever meeting him. He was punctual and very professional. Long story short... that day, he installed a wireless alarm system for only $99 or $199? so long ago, I forget. I did have to pay for a few extra items that I insisted on, such as an additional motion detector. He set everything up within an hour or two! LATER THAT NIGHT/EARLY MORNING! we receive a call (we are at home across town) from ADT saying they've received a signal and they've alerted the police. We arrive to our building with the police standing there near an open window where someone was trying to break in again! Actually, without the alarm system scaring him/her off, they were already in!! After all the construction work was completed, we moved our office in. Lots of computers, printers, network systems, personal property, etc... I was able to rest assured knowing that ADT was watching over our investment! Since then, Ryan has installed many alarm systems for us (our home and other office bldgs), our family, our friends and clients. He is very dependable, knowledgeable and experienced. I will always recommend Ryan to people I know (or not know on Yelp) because he's good at what he does and he's always there when we need him. He greets you with that awesome smile of his with sincerity! Once you meet him, you'll know what I'm talking about. He's very trustworthy and honest, qualities you want in the guy who installs your alarm system! read more

Fast response, good service. A++++ If you are looking for peace of mind, Ryan will certainly make sure you'll get it. Highly recommended. read more

A-Maz-ing! The purpose of installing a home protection system is to protect your home, your family and your valuables. So it makes sense that when choosing a company to install your alarm system, one of the highest priorities is TRUST in whomever is going to install your system. Ryan Sharp is that man. Completely trustworthy and you can feel comfortable having him in your home while installing the system. There are other alarm companies who do not screen their employees, no thanks! We got a home alarm with the micro alarms on each window, so small you can barely see them. He installed the keypad on our wall and even fished the electrical through the wall so you can't see any wires! Ryan did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him when choosing an alarm system! read more

Ryan was a great help getting my system installed, and setup, a couple years ago. He was prompt, and great with his communications. Install went smooth, and without any hassle, we were able to do some configuration changes based on the layout of my house vs the default sensor package. In addition, whenever I had a problem with the system over the past years, Ryan answers all my questions and recommends solutions to try before contacting ADT directly. He's a pleasure to work with and recommend him highly. read more

Alarm went haywire. Called Ryan. 15 minute phone call. Done! Couldn't get better than this. read more

Ryan has to be the best in this business, as his professionalism, knowledge, experience, and caring attitude are simply the best of qualities that he brings to his work. From the moment my wife called him to see if he would be able to install a system the very next day to the patient lesson he provided us on how to use it, Ryan continuously demonstrated the kind of top notch service I would love to have every place I went. That's how good Ryan is, and though I tend to praise those who really do a good job, Ryan definitely stands out. It has been over a week since he installed our system and today, he called me just to check in and see how things were going and if we had any additional questions or needed anything. Why does that sound so amazing? I could go on and on, but let me point out some highlights: - He showed up on time, as promised. - Since he had already spoken with my wife on the phone, he had answered many of her questions beforehand. And yet, he was kind enough to patiently answer my questions, probably some of them repeats of what my wife asked. - He listened and gave us his honest advice. - Ryan was careful, took his time, and cleaned up any mess that he made. - While it took more time than he had originally estimated, he made sure that we were comfortable with the system and how it worked before he left. He wasn't rushing to get somewhere else (despite our knowledge that he had to give up some family time on a Saturday in order to put our system in place as soon as possible). - He follows up! My wife looked at a lot of reviews on here before she went with Ryan. We can honestly testify that all of those reviews were right on the money when it comes to choosing a quality, dependable, trustworthy individual to set up and install a home security system from ADT. You will not go wrong by going with Ryan. He is definitely the real deal. Go with Ryan and you will not be disappointed. read more

Ryan Sharp installed an ADT Security system to my residence and did an excellent job. Ryan is a professional and made sure that I knew how to operate the system and responded to my questions and concerns. He offered excellent advice plus tips and suggestions for other security measures. Based on my experience of Ryan's responsiveness and expertise, I recommend him for residential security installation. James A. read more

I was looking for a home security system on yelp and was going to decide on a company with the most reviews but as I read through the reviews, I found that the other companies had their reps come and then separate people come and do the installation afterwards (which may take a week or more). With Ryan, he does everything in one visit which is great if you're limited with time. He was great to work with and did everything in about 3.5 hours :) Definitely would recommend going through Ryan if you need an alarm system; he made the process quick and easy! read more

I worked with Ryan several months ago on a security system for my office. I had consistently had problems with several ADT workers and no one seemed to be able to fix the problem. I was skeptical when I was referred to Ryan but decided to give him a try. I am so happy I did! Ryan fixed all of the programming issues with my keypad. He was very professional and took the time to explain everything to me. AI will call Ryan first with any future security system issues I have at my home or office. Thanks Ryan! read more

I had Ryan put in the alarm system in my office about 2 months ago. I chose Ryan because he was very courteous over the phone when I was shopping around. He didn't try to sell me the most expensive top of the line package like other dealers were. That is what caught my eye. I proceeded to setup an appointment with Ryan. I believe he came out the next day. The install was done in a few hours and he explained how everything worked before leaving. A few weeks later, ADT called me saying I the alarm was tripped in my office. I called Ryan, told him my alarm kept going off so he gave me some instructions to follow. It turned out to be a bad motion sensor. After that was determined, Ryan came out promptly, swapped to a different sensor and I was back in business. Thanks Ryan and good luck with growing your business!!! read more

We purchased a home and had Ryan install our ADT system. I have never ever met a service technician as knowledgeable about the product. Ryan is not only helpful, he is also very nice and thoughtful. He worked with our busy schedule and did not once show a hint of being annoyed with us (giggle) I have already referred two friends to meet with Ryan and we just had our system installed last night. You will not meet anyone quite like Ryan out there. He enjoys what he does and it shows. His work is so flawless and clean!. Please, if you are looking for home security... Do not call anyone else. Ryan is your man. Thank you, Ryan. You are the best! read more

Ryan has to be the hardest working and dedicated home security folks I've ever seen. I called ADT and got a clueless rep who came out and wasn't happy. So I went online and looked at Yelp, which brought me to Ryan. I called and easily scheduled an appointment for a consultation with Ryan for the very next day. He had other installs and work going on but promised to fit us into his busy schedule. He came out the next day for our consult, answered all my questions, including some technical ones and put me at ease with his expertise at home security systems. I was impressed and asked him when he could install the system. He had the entire system set up and installed in my house within 48 hours and it all works great. More importantly, he didn't try to upwell me on things I didn't need. His service and dedication to his customers is top notch! I highly recommend him to anyone looking to install a security system! read more

Ryan has been very patient with the whole process of setting up my alarm system. He goes above and beyond and helped me from start to finish. I really appreciate him taking his time and fitting me in his schedule. He is prompt and knows everything about alarm security. read more

After interviewing with 5 companies , we decided to work with Ryan for our Home alarm project last weekend. It turned out to such a great decision. Ryan is very experienced, skillful and knowledgeable about the alarm system. He made suggestions only based on the need, did not give us any pressure for more equipment or services. And He is so pleasant, patient, delightful. He spent almost 10 hours in my house, checked on every entry carefully. At the end of the day, the bill was exactly as he estimated in the beginning, no hidden cost. I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone who is considering getting the alarm system. read more

I would give him more stars if I could! All these great reviews are true - Ryan was very responsive, professional, easy to work with, and incredibly nice! It's clear that customer service is his focus, which was so refreshing. No high pressure sales tactics - in fact, he was very mindful and careful to explain all options and costs. Our last alarm company was basically non-responsive despite taking our money for 12 years. I wish we had found Ryan sooner! He spent almost a half day at our home on a Saturday to understand and modify our existing equipment as needed. He is patient and took the time to make sure we understood the system and features. He was safety focused and careful to clean up up the work area. What a fantastic experience working with someone that is professional, kind, and cares about his customers. Totally, 100% recommend! read more

Ryan is truly as awesome as people say, I did some shopping around to find the right company I felt most comfortable with, just talking on the phone with him for a little bit I knew who I wanted to go with, scheduled an appt with Ryan for a Saturday installation, he was even early and we went over a few things and then proceeded to install and tudor me on how and what this system is capable of. Overall he is very professional and educated in the security business, I highly recommend Ryan for your alarm needs. read more

Ryan is a incredibly diligent, knowledgeable, thoughtful and thorough ADT dealer/technician. I had him put in a Pulse system with some unusual requirements; his installation was clean, quiet, timely, and fully effective. As I went through a normal learning curve, Ryan researched as needed, revisited when needed, and talked me through the new system. I had ADT installed in a prior residence, by a different dealer. While they were adequate, Ryan was light years better. I would absolutely refer anyone with home security needs, to Ryan. read more

Ryan did a great job in planning for and installing our alarm system for our house. I reached out to him a few weeks ago to learn about his offerings and services. He was super helpful and responsive. He offered us various options (with pros and cons) to choose from, and took the time to respond to my long list of questions. During the installation, Ryan took his time to explain every little detail to ensure the alarm system set up meets our needs. Ryan knows his product really and looked after our interest and cost savings options. He also trained us on the system and helped us configure multiple users and went over all the capabilities of the Alarm system. read more

We bought a house and needed an alarm system - I wanted to use ADT - but had no idea where to start. I gave Ryan a call and really understood the process, the costs, the installation - everything. This guy is friendly - has a super positive attitude, smiles a lot, and really explains things before he does it. Honestly - I had like 5 contractors in the house and I thought installing an alarm system at the same time would be an issue - I had the locksmith changing locks, the fireplace guy inspecting something - the plumber installing piping and the carpet guy cleaning carpets.... And you know what.... despite all the noise and commotion that was going on... he went right ahead and installed everything - easy. You can tell he has been doing this a while and just gets into it and does the install. Would 100% recommend him to install your ADT system. He is clean, quiet and thorough - he wouldn't leave until I really knew how to operate the system. If you are planning to get an ADT system - or even thinking about it - he will make the process so easy. read more

We had an excellent experience with Ryan when we installed ADT in our new home a couple years back. Ryan is extremely professional and friendly. He was very articulate in describing all the options that we had, what gave us the most bang for the buck, etc. He was able to get the installation done quickly and he gave us a very reasonable price. Overall, we were very happy with his work. read more

Ryan is very well versed and goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers. He has detailed in depth knowledge on security systems. He not only cares about what he is doing and your home, but he is genuinely a very nice person. He communicated with me in detail before he started our project and he continued to communicate with us after we had a small hiccup on one sensor, which isn't bad, considering he installed nearly 50 and 4 keypads. One thing I have learned about shopping around for a supplier or service is, you get what you pay for. If you hire people that are the lowest price, it never pays off in the long run. Now to my review on Direct Protection. I am very pleased with Ryan. After two other consultants failed to show to up for appointments I just told them to take a hike. If they can't even show up for a sales appointment, why the hell would they show up when you have a problem. Then I got on trusty Yelp and found a few companies, but called only Ryan because of his great reviews and how professional he was over the phone. He wasn't just in a hurry to try to book a sales consult with me. He answered all my questions before he even qualified me as a potential sale. I like that about a person. That shows me he cares about the customer, and not just the money. We scheduled appointment and he was right on time and was very polite and professional. I felt confident in the company because of the manner in which he represented it. The install was scheduled for a 2 weeks later. Very pleased with his willingness to answer my questions, etc. I ended up getting 2 additional sensors, not because he sold them to me, but because I wanted them. I highly recommend this Ryan Sharp. They really do their best to make the clients happy. read more

Ryan installed a security system for us last year and we recently had him back to install additional sensors. There are very few providers/vendors in the home services space that I would unconditionally recommend, and Ryan is certainly one of them! I agree with all of the other comments here about how great Ryan is to work with. His work is both thorough and thoughtful. He makes great recommendations, designed to get you the best value (performance/results for the price) rather than what makes him the most money. His installation skills are top-notch and very high quality. He's very patient and clearly focused on making each customer extremely satisfied. And he's just an all-around fun, nice person to work with. We were very glad to get referred to Ryan, and look forward to working with him over the years! In an industry full of fly-by-night, shady types who do shoddy work - and who you frankly wouldn't want in your home in the first place - Ryan is the reference standard for doing everything right. What a pleasure to do business with. I, like a lot of people needed to get an alarm system and decided to go with the most well known ADT I knew they have low startup costs which was a plus for me. I was ready for the "big pitch" that I knew would come from the low "Get you in the door" price only to find you needed more, a lot more at a bigger cost. I found Ryan's ad on craigslist and he had a much better offer than any other ad I saw. I called and left a message and he returned my call promptly, spent a lot of time answering my questions and was able to setup a quick install date. He then did multiple follow up calls with other information I needed. The morning of the install, he called to say he would be a few minutes late, nowadays it seems nobody calls unless they are hours late. He arrived professionally and ready to work, not looking like the exact reason you are buying a security system in the first place. I could tell he had planned out his install and knew what he was doing. When I had input, questions and suggestions he really took the time to listen, discuss and explain his plan and weigh my thoughts too. Once the install was done, he tested everything well and made sure it was working right the first time. Then cleaned up very well when done. Went over everything hands on and made sure I was ready and able to properly use my system. Oh, and everything went so well with the install I almost forgot, zero upsell tactics, no "well you want your kids safe, right" type scare tactics you hear about so much with these type of deals. If anything he down sold some extra features as not being a good overall value for my needs. I think you an debate if one systems is better than another, but when it comes to installers, there is no debate Ryan was top notch. read more

We just bought a house in Los Altos (moving from Washington) and it had a wired security system from the prior owners that they said worked at one time, but they haven't used in years. We wanted to get ADT reusing what we could from the wired system and then use wireless for anything that didn't still work. Ryan came out and sorted through the rats nest of wires the prior owner had left, and did an excellent job reusing what he could from the prior system and making sure everything else was covered with wireless sensors. . It was an very big job, and Ryan dedicated the time to get the job done and get it done right. We are very pleased with the job Ryan did, his work ethic and his commitment to making sure we had a fully working system to our satisfaction. We highly recommend him! read more
