Never had shrimp and capers together before but was surprisingly good! Hot figs with prosciutto, arugula and buffalo mozzarella was our second dish and was another pleasant surprise with this combination. So good. Our third dish was the pork cheeks with vegetables in a port wine sauce. The pork was incredibly tender and the sauce was fantastic. The food was creative and delicious. The service was very good and the staff was very friendly. We definitely recommend this restaurant as a consideration for dinner while in Lisbon.

English language menus definitely help, and so does an establishment that identifies possible food allergies. We made online dinner reservations here for our first night in Lisbon with high hopes of being able to make it til 8pm. HA! Luckily, they took pity on us when we showed up around 6:30. Servers were super friendly and helpful. I was so relieved when they greeted us in English - - my attempt at learning at least some Portuguese failed miserably. They sat us at a table right in the front window. They had a nice cocktail menu - - so we started with the ginjinha cocktail - - so refreshing. Nice sized menu with something for everyone. We ordered a few dishes to share - - all seafood and so delicious. Bathroom is in the back by the kitchen. No problem paying by credit card.

Once admitted we were seated immediately as the restaurant was only about half full. The menu was quite simple with just half a dozen appetizers and their main dish, seafood rice served for 1 or 2 people. The rice took about half an hour to prepare. It was delivered still bubbling a bit. The red tomato based soup was full of rice, mussels (some in the half shell), whole shrimp and not quite half a crab. The restaurant provided a shell cracker but the tiny forks for removing the crab meat from the leg would've been quite helpful. The rich tomato soup was the best seafood rice from our trip. We were also given a bottle of piri piri sauce and used about 4-5 drops at a time to add a little bit of heat and flavors to the seafood rice.

(FYI: lots of tourists) They only have 1 main which is their signature dish, the seafood rice. The rice is cooked in a seafood broth with a good mixture of shellfish like mussels, crab and shrimp. You can add lobster at an extra charge. This dish reminds me of paella, but with more soup? We didn't really get any appetizers but they do have a small selection if you want to add more to your meal. We had 3 people and ordered one main for the table. My husband is not the biggest seafood person so it was enough but if you have big eaters, then consider getting apps. The place is kinda small and cozy but not overly crammed together. The staff was efficient and warned me ahead of time how long it would take to make the dish.

The buffet comes with a generous assortment of freshly baked breads. They were still are still hot from the oven. Lots of national dessert called pastel de nata. I ate at least four and probably will not be eating too many of those in the future. Around the breads, had make your own pancake station, bacon, sausage links, scrambled eggs, potatoes and the usual breakfast items. The bar area had chilled sprinkling wines and juice stations. You can also order coffee and such as part of the buffet. My coffee was excellent. To the back had cold cuts and fresh fruits. Not to forget, omelet stations also. The service was good, the food tasted great and everyone was very friendly friendly. 12% tax for food. Yikes

Although the…read morebreakfast buffet was large and attractive looking, it was rather expensive and we just wanted something smaller. We told the server we'd like to order from the menu; it took awhile for her to return to actually give us menus and take the orders -- 30 minutes later our food had not arrived (it was only omelettes). We joked amongst ourselves that they must've been waiting for the chickens to finish laying the eggs! My husband got up to ask our server, who hadn't been past our table since taking the order, if we could get our food and she looked perplexed. When she then brought the plates to the table it was obvious that all four dishes had been sitting on the counter in the kitchen for a long time -- the hash browns were cold and congealed and the eggs were rubbery and cold with a strange flavor. Two of the four omelettes were even the wrong combination of ingredients! We ended up walking out and the manager apologized and said our room would not be billed; I think they should've offered us something from the buffet at that point. I suggest you don't bother with it unless you want the $25 buffet; and I can't really comment on the quality of what was on those platters either. There's lots of great options in Lisbon for breakfast, choose one of those instead.

The main disappointment was that the service was just HORRIBLE. There would be times we felt neglected and there would be long delays between courses that really interrupted the flow of the evening. It was so bad that we were able to notice that our dishes slowed down so much that other tables (at least 2) that had showed up 30-45 minutes after us had caught up to our course. It was hard to even flag people down. The food was delicious but didn't have that wow factor. My partner is vegetarian and her meal was simply the same dish just substituted with a vegetarian food type so like replacing meat with soy protein or vegetables. It felt like such a cut and paste type of action that her dishes were quite underwhelming and left a lot to be desired. The restaurant does have a beautiful spacious space that overlooks the park but that's not enough to cover the underwhelming food and terrible service. It felt like they were just doing the bare minimum and riding on the success of past years and I would be honestly surprised if they keep the star with this kind of experience. For reference, we had the typical 11 experience menu.

It is a small restaurant so it pays to get reservations far in advance. The interior is kind of like a house, intimate and very comfortable in a minimalist style. Our table had a view that was breathtaking. The design details are great--even the flower vase at the table was beautiful. There are two choices for the set meals--both with the option of wine courses. My wife and I both ordered the option with fewer courses, then I did the wine pairing. Before the meal, they brought us out a sparkling wine and a white port. Both were excellent--my wife had three glasses of the sparkling wine during the meal. All the wines were from Portugal and all were excellent. We had two courses of amuse bouche. The first had a parsnip cream with pine nuts along with this triangle beetroot bites. Both were phenomenal--I would have been happy with a meal of either of them. The next course was tuna, that came with cucumber gazpacho. They matched so well and this was SO good. This was matched with a vina verde grape that had kind of a green tint but matched perfectly Next was bread. This might be considered odd as a course, but exceptional. Not only was the bread perfect, but it came with great gravy, butter, and olive oil (from Portugal). My wife does not even like gravy, but now wants to try to replicate the poultry gravy here. Then the butter was spectacular also. Next was the sea bass. I think this was my favorite course and one of the most incredible bites I have had. The sea bass was moist and flavored so well. Then the sauce was such a great complement, just extraordinary. This was paired with a Portuguese Riesling that was also great. Next was lamb that was paired with a red blend of 65 grapes. It was really good pairing. The lamb was moist and just melted in the mouth. This came with scallions and fennel--included some sweetbreads wrapped in a scallion. I am not a big sweetbread fan, but well done. After that was a dessert that had crème on a pistachio crumble. Really great. There was a Madeira that came with both desserts, again a perfect match. This was followed by a coffee gelato with these little gelatinous cubes of tonic. Just amazing. The final item was not an official course, but a Madeline with tea or coffee. Again, this was so good and I loved the Darjeeling tea. Just a fantastic, incredible meal.

Staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was so beautifully decorated and designed. To be completely candid, I was unimpressed with the Portugal food scene before this meal so I came in with no expectations but they surprised me. Each dish was delicious in their own right, my favorite being the artichoke (OMG! divine) I like how they use the core ingredients in so many ways in each dish. Only areas where I felt EPUR fell (just a little) short was they had limited variety of non-alcoholic drinks--wish they had a non-alcoholic pairing or at least some mocktails and their dessert seemed like an afterthought. Overall, I really enjoyed my night.

This was the last night of our journey, and we just wanted a nice dinner in a trusted restaurant. For dinner four of the five of us ordered the squid ink pasta served with prawns. I ordered the tender tentacles of octopus. The Pasta was an absolute hit with all of the ladies trying it! My tender tentacles were tender and my serving was enormous. My tentacles were enormous ! That was one big octopus. Plating, dining, and the wine and service is a five-star restaurant for sure. I am giving it four stars just because it was a little bit franchised feeling, and I prefer a slightly more authentic dining experience. This restaurant could have been in Paris, London, or Highlands Ranch Colorado. Although I don't think all of those places would've had the tender tentacles. Solid four-star restaurant! I would go to this chain anywhere in the world.
