Wonderful staff. Ambiance was lovely. Very clean...spotless! I had the small filet mignon with shrimp along with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything was cooked to perfection!! And chocolate cheesecake with raspberries and whipped cream. It was out of this world! There were also two male (Managers?) that checked in with us a few times. Our waitresses name was Jonika. Not sure if the spelling is correct. She was a 10 out of 10! read more

Great night out here! Came for my dad's birthday and we had a such a nice time. Jamelia, our server, took excellent care of us, and the entire staff was top-notch. The drinks were amazing. Whoever their bartender is, wow -- they are talented. Highlights included the dirty Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese-stuffed olives, the pomegranate martini, and the blueberry mojito. For apps we ordered a small seafood tower, the veal osso buco ravioli, and the ahi tuna. All freshly prepared and delicious, especially the ravioli and tower. For my entree I got the 8 oz filet and jumbo lobster tail, it was one of the specials. Also delicious! Our sides were all yummy too, we got garlic mashed, spinach and asparagus; and I really liked the mac & cheese. For dessert, everyone got the lava cake and enjoyed it, I took home a slice of cheesecake. I did have to ask for extra berries to go with it, there weren't a lot of them. If it's your birthday they decorate the table with a confetti sprinkle and you get a free dessert, so that made my dad's day. And it was a nice seating arrangement, we had plenty of space and didn't feel cramped at all. I liked the atmosphere as well. We'd definitely return! read more

Horrific service, management. Lack Of enthusiasm by all of staff 4 different people . Manager must be clueless I've eaten at Ruth Chris in probably 15-20 states. This was he worst yet. So many service issues here, some food too. Steak knife lousy too... But the ones at long horn or Capital grille Capital Grill and Longhorn both owned by same restaurant group as Ruth Chris. Capital grill Chestnut hill, Dedham , management and staff far exceeds this restaurant . I'll drive to Ruth Cris in Worcester or Boston next time to see if they are better? Can't be any worse read more

A very bad dining experience here on Father's Day. Food presentation was sloppy. Salad was served warm! Tasted like it was premade sitting in room temperature all day. Potato au gratin was not sliced pressed potatoes cheese baked. Served with small cube cut potatoes with some baked cheese on top. Had a risotto fish entree. Risotto was creamy and delicious but then took a bite of the fish. Fish was raw served on a sizzling hot plate! Manager came off as stand offish even tho they took it off the bill. Wound not expect this type of food service for a premier chain steak house. read more

Really solid experience for dinner - we came here on a weekend at night with a reservation, but honestly, there was plenty of space as it's a huge restaurant. Decor felt like your typical mid to upscale American restaurant. Service was solid - there was a slight misunderstanding with the menu's wording for one of the dishes, but the manager was very courteous and patient. We ended up getting treated pretty well even with the confusion. Food tasted great. It's on the pricier side for steak houses in my opinion, but the quality was solid and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. I honestly loved the bread (always a good sign) and my steak was cooked to perfection. Even the dessert was really solid! read more

Haven't been here since Covid times when they used to do lunch. Sadly they no longer do lunch but they do still have the prefix menu for dinner which is a great deal for $60. Appetizer, entree, and dessert. Went here for early dinner birthday right after the holidays and the dining room was pretty empty (us and one other table. A couple more tables came in later). The dining area was still tastefully decorated for holiday which was nice but the seating/booths are showing some wear and tear. Prior to arriving, we noted the birthday and they were ready for us with cute little confetti and a birthday card which was a nice touch! We started with the calamari which was the best dish of the evening. Super crispy and hot with tangy flavor. The steaks were cooked fine but one thing that bothers me is they always ask you to cut into it to make sure it's cooked properly but then all the juices run out. Crab cakes were not great. I liked the crunchy bottom and they came out sizzling but the breading was kinda mushy, grey and flavorless. There was lump crab in it but not tons. The buttery mashed potatoes-great as always and the kids liked the very cheesy lobster Mac & cheese. For dessert we had a chocolate molten lava cake which tasted like it was fresh out of the oven and the kids raspberry sorbet (which was huge) so good! Also, the kids Shirley temple was the best! (Says the little). Limited parking out front but they do valet and there is parking in garage behind building. read more

While looking for a restaurant in the area to dine with a friend, came across an offer for a 3-course menu for $55. I thought that would be a great deal and it turned out to be rightly so! The restaurant is right off the highway with plenty of free parking available. Valet parking is also an option. I made a reservation and mentioned that it was for a birthday celebration and we were greeted with a happy birthday and some confetti was sprinkled on our table. I thought it was a discreet and yet very special greeting. We started with the bread that was absolutely warm and delicious. Our house salad had a fantastic dressing and it was really good. As for the steak, I went for medium with mashed potatoes and perfect! My friend likes her steaks well done and she said it was one the best cooked steaks she had ever had and despite being well done that it was still tender inside. For dessert they provided a small cheesecake that it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. There are a few separate dining rooms in the restaurant so you never feel crowded. It was a busy night yet service did not offer. We had Shawn checked-in on us and provided overall good service. There is some soft background music playing in the background that does not distract conversation. read more

Out of all the nice places I've been to including other locations, this was my worst experience at a Ruth Chris because of the amount of time we had to wait to order our food, then for our food to come out was horrendous, but the manager was in the room with us and went over to talk to other tables but did not once give any attention to us. read more

I was staying very close to this restaurant. Since I already had food plans I came here for some drinks. I walk in the place is very nice like most Ruth Chris steakhouses are! I hit the bar and order a pomegranate martini. It was very delicious. The drink was $17 and very reasonable. I watched some Celtics play and was there for about an hour. I wish I was there longer. No complaints at all! I will definitely be back. read more

Epitome of underwhelming. Want expensive food but without the ambiance, good service or flavor? Yep.... I had low expectations of Ruth Chris and this location managed to still disappoint! From dishes such as the filet, lobster, crabcake, and all (ALL) the sides, Ruth Chris seemingly had one spice in their cabinet...butter. Service was painfully slow to boot. I didn't get food poisoning so 2 stars is generous. Very big NOPE read more

Came with a large party for work function. There was only one other party seated at the bar on a Thursday night. My cut of ribeye was spot-on; the steak was cooked near perfect, but didn't seem to be seasoned uniformly. Still better than I could do at home, but I guess high expectations for a steak house of this price range. We had a large party, and service was quick and friendly. read more

OK, so the only downside to this place is parking, but once inside, the traditional Ruth's Chris quality kicks in. Unlike many steak houses I have visited, this one has draft beer on tap. I started with a Wormtown IPA as I waited for my guest. They have a full bar and a good sized wine menu with a nice list of wine-by-the-glass options. The dining room is large, and I was pleased to be seated at a boot toward the back of the restaurant. The service was great: both attentive but not so annoying you can't have a good business dinner. I had the bone-in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection, tasty and tender. The sides of spinach (sautéed and steamed) were tasty and generous in size. Would definitely return here in the future. read more

Had dinner at Ruth Chris in Waltham and I got the petite filet and scallop entree. The steak and scallops were tasty and cooked well. They had a little spice to it. I sat in the bar area and there's not much of an ambiance to it, as it has older steakhouse feel to it. The food was good but it is really expensive as this meal was $71 so I would recommend for special occasions or if you don't enjoy a good steak. read more

As I type this, the third entry along my "Eat the Distance!" project, the necessary incumberance of apologizing for such an unlikely rating impresses itself upon me with not a little urgency. Would that I might submit an evaluation of the form 4.75/5, or like such as, I would. But alas, 4/5 is a mere +80%, and though I am evidently philosophically opposed to admitting complete certainty about any one proposition etc., Ruth's Chris deserves more something akin to +95%*. Excellent everything**, ambience unexpected and refined, vittles excellently prepared and presented: each uncooked steak is subject to a sear at over 1000°F, then laid to rest on a plate heated to 500°F which is then itself tabled. Will return at some later date, a date beyond the "Distance!", to sample missed menu items. ---------------- *4.75/5, for restaurants in its class. **A few minor points could be made regarding service, in particular concerning pre-arival preparations. Additionally, there really ought to be a dry sparkling white by the glass, a simple cava brut or so, to elevate and further gild. Also music...do address. read more

I was surprised to see how low of ratings this place is. I have the best experience/food when I was here last week. I didn't make a reservation in advance, but when checking in with the host and my bf said it's my bday, the host was so nice and sprinkled birthday decors on my table. Zachary was our server, and he did a fantastic job in explaining the menu, he shows us visually the different size of wine glass. We ordered the steak for 2 combo and red wine to pair with. The rib eyes were a little more pink than medium, but it tasted so juicy and full of flavor. The night ended with a complimentary dessert from the restaurant, and I had to say their cheese cake and chocolate mouse are to do for! The texture and sweetness level are just perfect. This is definitely the level of fine dine that I m willing to spend money on. From the atmosphere to the service, everything was elegant. read more

Ruth Chris never disappoints. I don't go often but when I do it is excellent. Bottles of wine going around the table, appetizers to share, the meal, and dessert. The restaurant itself was very nice. Table were not on top of each other which I believe is important. The stuffed mushroom and spicy shrimp - consensus was that they were both amazing. A few had the sea bass and the rest had the filet. Everything was ala carte. There wasn't a choice that was less than amazing. I ordered the sweet potato casserole. It was really good, but not excellent as there was such a strong butter taste it took away from the sweet potato. Same with the filet - if you don't like a strong butter taste, be sure to ask for no butter. My filet came out with a puddle of butter so most tasted like the butter, not a true essence of the meat. There were tons of laughs and good times. It's nice to be out and not talk about work. I am happy to be a part of this team. Lastly, the service was very good. The waiter was attentive throughout the evening. Thank you Ruth Chris. read more

I'm glad I was able to experience Ruth's Chris Steakhouse before it was purchased by Darden Restaurants, the parent company behind Olive Garden and many other well known chain restaurants. I sensed it would decline a bit after the purchase but I had no idea it would be worse. My wife and I went there for her birthday and it was very disappointing. The quality of the food and service was nowhere close to what it was before it was sold. The good: easy to get a table/reservation received an extra lobster tail to make up for a wrong order. I received a well done steak when I ordered medium rare. They were very nice about that. However, the new steak was cooked to order but the surface of the steak was grey in color. No sear at all. The bad: food quality. was subpar for the price. I ordered a filet mignon medium rare but received it well done. side items were very small and not tasty service . The server barely came by our table. Water wasn't filled up until we were ready to leave. Also, the table was a mess. Plates weren't cleared in a timely matter. We didn't see anyone use that little comb thing that fancy steakhouses use to clear crumbs from tables. price. Our total bill was $425 for two including the tip. Honestly, we would have had better food and service at Longhorns, another one of the restaurants that the Darden group owns. Sadly, this will be the last time we go to Ruth's Chris. read more

My first and last time eating there. Besides the ridiculously long wait between courses, one of the six of us, said his baked potato was raw in the middle and his steak not cooked the way he requested. I ordered the Creme Brulee and it was a complete disappointment; it was like vanilla pudding and not custard and a few sprinkles of sugar blow torched. Oh the ways I love this restaurant! It's the best spot to have a good cocktail with a colleague and not worry about seeing other coworkers. The appetizers are large enough to share or be a side to a steak If you're extra hungry, then you can order sides too. It's your world On each occasion Ruth's Chris nails the perfect medium rare temperature - which in my experience can be challenging, especially in the "fancier" joints. The bread pudding with the Jack Daniel's cream sauce is my MUST have for dessert!! From entry to departure the service is excellent. My only wish is for self parking nearer to the restaurant. There is parking on-site (lot or garage), plan for a decent walk. Valet is also available. read more

My fifth time there but this one was a big disappointment and it may be my last time there! My wife took me out for Father's Day, reservation and all. Our waitress was very good and very attentive. Cocktails were good but I made the mistake of ordering lamp chops instead of steak. The portion size was great, but then I cut into the chops. One of them was raw! I'd ask for them to be cooked Medium. I tried another one and it was cooked OK, but the flavoring was off maybe due to the grease, and I soon after became nauseated. I stopped eating them all together. I want to say that our sides were very good though after I became ill from the the lamb chop, I stopped eating everything. I told the waitress and she apologized. I replied to her there was no need for her to apologize as she didn't cook them. She said she was going to speak to the manager. A few minutes later, the manager came by and I showed him the raw lamb chop. He didn't disagree or or agree with me, but then offered to put them on the grill again. I said no thank you but I thought "so you can overcook them no thanks." He didn't offer to make any amends or offer me another option such as maybe a small piece of steak as a replacement. I had the lamb chops removed, paid my bill and that was my night. Very disappointing. For a four star-plus restaurant the management should've done better. read more

Not really sure about 4 Stars, There was truly nothing wrong with this visit and it might have truly been the best steak I ever tasted (Mooo has been my long running fave, but it was slightly better) but I dont give 5 stars for everything and I was with a work group so I think it loses a star for that, I wonder how the service would have been if there wasn't so many of us! Jeremy went ABOVE & BEYOND, But I mean would it have been less spectacular if we weren't a big group! Food was great, Pace was great, VEGGIES were all great, Only thing that irks me about all these new up & coming steak houses is the lighting. We dont want to make out, We aren't there for the romantic ambience, with the exception of maybe one table - the entire place was made up of Business meals the night we were there, Just turn the lights up a little. Will definitely be back to be able to eat and order alone, Group eating stinks sometimes when you want to just keep eating one thing, LOL But yes, Steak literally melted in your mouth and was SOO GOOD! read more

Been to the Waltham Ruth's Chris about 5 times now. Sit at the bar. Like the atmosphere. Overall feedback: -Sizzling hot plates are a terrible idea. Steaks keep cooking on them and they never get it right. - The lamb chops are terrible. We couldn't cut them. Needed a chain saw. No taste. - Filets are very dry. Terrible. They don't offer a sauce and there's definitely no juice. - We were still eating our salad and dinner arrived. That is so bad. read more

I still remember the very first Ruth's Chris Steak House I ever visited back in El Paso. Even though it was over 4 years ago, that is one first impression I'll never forget. The steak was seasoned to perfection and heavenly, the lobster mac n' cheese tasted like the stuff that dreams are made of, and the velvet ropes pared when my tastebuds bestowed upon the vibrant morsels of the sizzling blue crab cakes. Trouble is....after sometime, the place dipped a little. And when I say dipped, I mean from like, 5 stars to 4 stars. So, going into the one here in Mass, I wasn't sure what kind of experience we'd have. Fortunately, it was first class living all the way! The service? Superb! The food? Lived up to its inherent legend to when I first experienced the Ruth. Even the décor was elegant. Take a look at my photo. Seriously, I thought I'd have to speak with a smug English accent whilst holding up my pinky thusly as I sip my wine like a boss on Wall Street. Nay! Actually, you don't really need to dress up here, per se. However, they DO make you remove your hat before entering the dining room. Of course there WAS a dude across from us still wearing his beanie, buuuut we don't have to talk about that. Anyway, I'd definitely return here for another special occasion dinner or something like that. See, that's the thing I should have mentioned earlier. But for those who've never been to one of these restaurants before, it's a la carte which basically means a more expensive menu. Oh, but it is SO worth it! Be sure to make a reservation around payday. Close to the highway and easy to find on the first visit, I'd highly recommend this steakhouse to....basically everyone in the New England area. Word of caution though: the parking is limited and weird. That's all I'm gonna say. Ruth's Chris in Waltham gets 5 savory seasoned steaks with melted garlic butter out of 5. read more

Ruth's Chris's Steakhouse was recommended to us by a few friends. Both said that it was better than Grill 23 and the Capital Grill. With that said, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse did not meet or come anywhere near our expectations! They are a franchise! And everyone knows what happens to franchises after a while! At the Start everything was great! We were welcomed and congratulated for our anniversary, shown to our seat and met our server who was very nice and prompt. We got our drinks that were fantastic with the exception that my drink was supposed to be smoked and unveiled table side. Oh well...less smokey flavor and no theatrics. First up...fried calamari. It came to our table with a sweet sauce all over it and burnt. Rubber bands doesn't quite describe what we got. Inedible! This they compt. Next up the main meal. My medium rare prime steak was raw....I mean it was raw! It was lightly charred on one side and bloody red on the other! My wife's lamb chops were cooked spotty. One was well while the other was rare. There was no presentation at all! Steak and chops seemed to just be tossed on the plate with no fanfare ice parsley/ small bed of lettuce. Then there was the cappuccinos! Served in a coffee cup and it was all milk and froth! No chino whatsoever!! I've gotten better looking, tasting and cooked food at a Ground Round and for a fraction of the cost! Where was the quality control!?? With all this said, next year we'll go to Grill 23 or Capital Grill where at least it will be worth the $300 price tag!!! I do not recommend going to the Waltham location at all! And I highly doubt the other locations are much better. Bottom line...I would pass on this one! read more
