Shrimp top Salmon
Elaine M.

First time at this establishment. We went outside on the rooftop bar area to have the Happy hour drinks and wait for our table to be prepared for a party of 11. Once at the table things went well as for drinks and taking orders. Some things should be made clear about some of the dishes, like the Caesar salad comes with an extreme amount of Parmesan cheese. That was a problem for one of the guest and I ordered extra on the side thinking there wouldn't be much on it, but I never even used the extra. We ordered the 3 course for $60 and it was so worth it for the amount of food. My problem was I ordered the salmon that wasn't cooked through in the center, when I brought this to the server's attention I was told they only cook it to a medium rare. I can see with steak that shouldn't apply to fish. Another problem was a burger wasn't cooked to the person request.Even with that issue the service and food was really good. Everyone else ordered the steak and shrimp, they said it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the mishaps with the dishes that weren't cooked through.

Stopped by for a birthday burger for happy hour. I ended up getting a quick margarita and a burger to kick off my birthday celebration. As usual the service is always great here. The establishment is a fine dining space perfect for celebrating or formal dinners. My burger was pretty good. Tasty and well made, it was good but not the best. I also ordered crispy calamari which was great. My margarita was the highlight. It was perfectly made and really hit the spot. Normally, I opt for steak here but today was simple. If you really want a great meal come on in for dinner and treat yourself. Ruth's Chris is a well established steak house that delivers great cuts of steak consistently. Stop by San Marco and have a bite. You won't be disappointed. PS This restaurant is located in the double tree hotel. There is valet and self parking available.

We had one of the best experiences here! The view was amazing as it's right on the river. We started off with an order of the seared ahi tuna which was so flavorful and tender. We also had a brown butter old fashioned and a blueberry mojito both of which were fantastic and strong. For dinner we each got the Ruth's 3 Course for $60. My husband got the Caesar salad, filet & shrimp, roasted Brussels sprouts and a classic cheesecake. I got the French onion soup, the filet & shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and the chocolate cheesecake. The steaks were so tender you could cut them with a fork and the rest of the food was so flavorful and good. We truly enjoyed every single bit of our meal. As for the service, it couldn't have been any better. The manager Joseph was outstanding and checked on us several times. Siera was our server and she was simply amazing. Truly one of the best servers we have ever had. We were celebrating my husbands 60th birthday and they truly made it so special. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience! Thank you Ruth's Chris for a night to remember

Awww Ruth Chris did it up really lovely for us last night :) Made last minute reservations and noted it was our anniversary. From the minute we entered we were greeted and immediately told Happy Anniversary, then a the night went on were probably told Happy Anniversary about 12 times.... lol! Table was decorated with rose petals and a signed card, server was amazing! Food was delicious! Like literally everything we got was a 10! They definitely know how to make it a special dinner, just wonderful! Also i have never been here during the day where you could see everything! Very pretty!

Even on a very busy night, the service was excellent. Matt was our waiter and did an amazing job informative, attentive, and he had a great sense of humor that made the experience fun and comfortable. I ordered the ribeye medium and it was excellent, my friend got the petite filet, and the barbecue shrimp is always my absolute favorite appetizer. This is exactly why we love coming here.

We had dinner at Ruth's Chris and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was. I ordered the 6oz filet with a lobster tail, and the chef deshelled it beautifully. My husband had the 8oz filet, and both steaks were cooked perfectly. We shared the mashed potatoes and the lobster mac and cheese, which was phenomenal. I also started with the French onion soup, and it was delicious. Overall, the food really exceeded my expectations. Service was another highlight. The host was super friendly, and our waitress was amazing, attentive, warm, and kind. My only real hesitation, and the reason for the 4 stars, is the atmosphere. The restaurant itself feels outdated, and being located inside the DoubleTree near the banquet rooms takes away from the upscale dining experience Ruth's Chris is known for. The river view is lovely, but the hotel and restaurant both feel like they've gone downhill over the years. I really hope that if a new riverfront hotel ever comes to the area, Ruth's Chris considers moving into a fresher, more elevated space, because the food and service absolutely deserve that backdrop. Still, overall we had a wonderful meal, and the quality of the food and staff really shined.

The food was delicious but the service was really bad,our server seamed to be out of it, we had to ask multiple times for bread, we asked for a dessert menu we ordered carrot cake to go just to find out they was out then on top of it all that he got our check wrong I mean over 100 dollars wrong and before my wife could tell him all that was wrong he walked away like he knew and was gonna see if we was gonna pay without looking

So it was our first time going to Ruth's Chris steakhouse restaurant, we had a hostess(10) named Kim. She was very attentive and easy to talk to. She made sure everything was accurate and perfect. The location was the best experience. We had a scenery of the bridge and the water which was the perfect view(10). It was our anniversary dinner and they truly made it special(10). They had a greeting card with rose petals on the table in my wife got to try multiple wines(drinks 10). I gave their Porterhouse a 7/10, the flavor, texture, and tenderness did not hit all the marks :) it was still enjoyable!!!

I've been here multiple times and not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's way overdue. Each time, steaks were perfectly grilled to my liking and service has been amazing. Celebrated anniversary, birthdays, and just meet-ups. I'm a fan of this place! Restaurant is located at Downtown Jacksonville's Double Tree by Hilton Hotel overlooking the scenic St. Johns River. Parking at hotel's garage with validation is available. Valet is also available for $8 with a validation sticker.

Ruth's Chris has quickly become one of my favorite places to visit for their bar area happy hour. The location is great, with a fabulous view overlooking the St. Johns river. The happy hour menu has something for everyone, and their craft cocktails are always on point. Service is what you would expect from RC...top notch! It's a great place to spend a few hours and unwind.

I booked the Valentine's dinner for my best friend and myself. We both did the Ruth's pairing. Not pictured were our Caesar and Steakhouse salads bc we truly demolished them before remembering to take any pictures LOL The steak & shrimp were impeccable. The mashed potatoes were a little unseasoned but that is an easy fix. My French 75 was delicious! The view was amazing & we both received a complementary red rose after our dinner. I also need to give a special shout out to Corey! I had a wardrobe malfunction and he went completely out of his way to ensure that I had the help I needed to continue my day. So thank you so so much to Corey!

Cheese cake. Very tasty!

We have a luncheon today at Ruth Chris with our financial advisor. They do it annually for all of us. Today the luncheon fantastic! They aren't normally open for lunch. I had the 8oz filet today. It was spot on. My wife said she asked for her 8oz filet to be cooked medium well. It was cooked well done instead. All the sides were very tasty. I'm thinking because of such a large group her filet was put in the wrong try for another table. No big deal. Service was very friendly. Definitely recommend Ruth Chris!

She made sure to check up on us, answered all of our questions, and refilled our drinks often. It was super clean there too! We were started off with some fresh, warm bread and a balsamic/olive oil dipping sauce. The bread was perfectly crispy and went so well with the dipping sauce. We were served cold bread before at restaurant so I'm glad we had warm bread! We decided on the following appetizer and entrees: Fried meat ravioli - 8/10: it came out piping hot and it was so delicious! Fried to a nice, golden brown and covered in panko crumbs, it didn't feel heavy at all. It came with a fresh marinara sauce and had parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of the fried ravioli. Each bite was cheesy, crispy, tasty, meaty, and we devoured it quickly! Carbonara Alla Roma - 8.5/10: I thought the portion would be small since I seen photos online but it was actually a great portion. I had enough to take home and eat as leftovers! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the alfredo sauce was balanced and decadent. I could taste the pecorino romano, and cracked black pepper. The pancetta was smoky and added a nice umami flavor to the pasta. I didn't rate it higher because it was slightly missing a little bit of of that BAM factor! but it was pretty delicious! The Sofi - chicken - 9/10: Oh my gosh! My best friend got this and I wished I would have too! It was sooooooooooooooooooo good! It had prosciutto di parma, mushrooms, asparagus, shallots, cooked in wine and tossed in a rose cream sauce. The pasta was also cooked perfectly and that sauce was to die for! Each bite was like tasting the finest flavors and spices of Italy. I could not believe how tasty this was! If you come here, you HAVE to try this dish! Tiramisu - 9.5/10: One of the best tiramisus we've had in Jacksonville. It was the perfect amount of espresso and cream. They had dollops of chocolate sauce on the side and helped elevated the flavor of the tiramisu. It also wasn't super sweet which we appreciate. We don't really like overly sweet desserts and this one hits the mark on everything. Overall, service, food, and atmosphere was great! We would definitely come back to try other menu items! Thank you for such a great first experience, Sofi's!

We initially asked for indoor seating, but after seeing how cozy the space was, we happily switched to outdoor seating since the weather was perfect. We also decided to try the baked oysters--something my husband doesn't usually go for--but they ended up being his favorite. So much so that we ordered another round. Overall, it was a fantastic night and a great experience. We'll definitely be back.

Like any good kid back then wanting to hear a particular song, I listened to my FM radio nonstop, waiting patiently to hear this crazy song called "Pac-Man Fever!" Sadly I don't ever recall actually hearing it on my favorite station. Hearing about new things is much easier now. Social media and the internet overwhelm me with what the algorithms think I want to see and learn about. And most of the time those crazy programs and their internet overlords are spot on! Take, for instance, a rather new restaurant in San Marco focusing on seafood. Shellfish and caviar to be specific. A few months ago all of my feeds were filled with information about a new place in town - Brine. Obviously, my wife and I, loving all things related with food, knew that we needed to try it. Well, today was that day. First, know that the parking lot is down a dead end street that looks spooky. Keep going. I didn't and ended up parking in the larger lot where La Napolera is located. The restaurant is tiny. Our server told us that the space was used to sell smoothies. Or perhaps it was a phone booth. Regardless it's intimate. And the food is fantastic! Colette our server was fantastic. Bubbly, helpful and definitely gave off the vibe that she was happy to be there, helping us enjoy our meal. She was great and I can't say enough good things about her. We opted to try the tasting menu. It's an option when you book online. We also chose to sit at the counter. An island of 4 seats that look at the other diners sitting at the tables inside. It's odd and Colette told us that the owners were planning on building an expanded space in the near future. The tasting menu is a seven course meal. If desired, you can choose to add a wine pairing. We got one wine pairing that we split - it was more than enough and the Brine folks were kind enough to put the wine into two glasses. As for the courses we had for our meal? Course 1 Champagne PEI oysters Each oyster included a different topping. There was butter. And chorizo. And caviar. Each was delicious and very different. A perfect way to start the meal. The champagne was also a great. Course 2 Riesling Yellow tail (hamachi) crudo with pineapple. The pineapple was prepared three ways. And while the wine was very dry and minerally (is that a word?) it worked PERFECTLY with the sweetness of the pineapple. To me this pairing worked the best. Course 3 Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand Tuna tartar with aioli on a fried panko crusted seaweed cracker. The tuna flavor was delicate and worked well on top of the seaweed cracker. Again, the wine worked very well with the flavors of the fish. Course 4 Chanin blanc Salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, vinaigrette and butter and mashed potato and potato crisps. Lettuce and mashed potatoes? I don't know how. I don't know why. But it works. Really, really well. They're like mad scientists at Brine and they may be building a monster out of body parts. But darn it the potato/salad combo was fantastic! Course 5 Oaked Chardonnay Lobster cannelloni This was probably my favorite dish. The lobster filling was awesome and I literally wanted to fill a cup with the sauce and drink it through a straw. If you're not going to try the tasting menu I would highly recommend this for an entree. Course 6 Waygu shortrib and scallops and parsnips Ochetti langhe nebbiolo The scallops are sliced thin, which I liked a lot. The shortrib was good. I like parsnip, but I felt that its flavor overshadowed the flavors of the beef and the scallop. It's a tasty dish, but wasn't my favorite. Course 7 Cheesecake bread pudding with bourbon ice cream Chocolate pearls chocolate marscapone orange chocolate cake Solera 1847 Creme dulce Sherry Colette brought us two different desserts to try instead of each of us having the same. Both were fantastic. I think I liked the chocolate cake one more while my wife really enjoyed the cheesecake. The sherry was fine but didn't really add anything to the desserts. Course 8 (extra) Sugar cookie with vanilla ice cream and caviar. This was an extra treat that they brought. A cookie ice cream sandwich with caviar on it. Again, why does it work? I don't get it! But it was super tasty. We were both really full by this point but ate it all! Each course isn't a huge, but by the end we were stuffed. And splitting the wine was a good way let us drive home! The tasting menu is a great way to try Brine and the many of the flavor combinations they're putting together. It's not an inexpensive meal. But we knew that going in. The cost may turn some people off, but this was a fantastic meal with some wonderful staff. I don't play video games too much anymore. And I don't remember the Pac Man song. But I love food, and I know that if you do as well you'll love Brine!
