Hard pass next time. We went here just for an appetizer and martini at the bar seating. Service was great from the bartender and the complementary warm bread rolls were the only thing going for them. The fried calamari was the most disappointing try on calamari I've ever had. See my picture and you'll understand. It was mini crumb size and all you get was the batter. I was seriously trying to find a piece that looked like there was actual calamari inside the fried goodness. Avoid ordering the calamari. The beef capaccio was ok. I'll keep this one fairly short as this isn't a real differentiator of the Cancun food scene (you can get it anywhere). However, it is a reliable steakhouse. We started with the Seared Ahi Tuna, which had a nice kick and was quite good. I'd order on a return visit. We also had the filet and asparagus. Both were what you'd expect if you've been to a Ruth's Chris before! All in all, you really can't go wrong, but it's not something unique to Cancún. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Service was precise, friendly, and warm, and they were very nice to (and tolerant of) our two small kids. Food was excellent. Pacing and timing made for a relaxed and pleasant flow of the courses, with everything hot and delicious. Yes, it's expensive, but very much in line with the other high-end steakhouses in the area (we tried a few) and they offer a very reasonable (for what you get) kids menu for a bit under $400 pesos that includes a 4 oz filet, side, drinks, and dessert. The service was great but the food was mediocre at best the mash potatoes were good nothing special but the Mac and cheese was too garlicky for my taste then we ordered the porter house steak (medium) it arrived rare so we sent it back all they did was sear the surface and the steak was still rare so we sent it back one more time but the stick was medium rare but not even consistent we lost our appetite and decided to pay the hefty $300 bill and go home. The restaurant is very nice. The service was great and I would update recommend the lamb chops and if you aren't a fan of lamb the filet is also quite good. I would suggest ordering your meat medium if you are use to ordering it medium rare in the states. The fries were just ok and the bread was great. read more

1 of 2 places in Cancun that made me feel like I'm back home in America. We always came on weekdays during late afternoon/early night hours and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get seated. It's a fancy place but we always wore our daytime clothes here and never had a problem since the people I came with are regulars here. We always ordered the same thing: apps with shots of Don Julio 70. Our go to apps are spicy shrimp, calamari, and crab cakes. They're all great choices. We were taking a casual walk down through the hotel zone and got hungry. Ruth's was nearby and open for lunch. This is a big location. There is a ton of seating. This rating is heavily influenced because of the staff. They went above and beyond to make it a great experience. We have done Ruth's in other cities before and knew what to expect from the food. You expect the service to be good too, but they really dial it up. I ordered the Stuffed Chicken Breast. It is an oven roasted double chicken breast, stuffed with garlic herb cheese and topped with lemon butter. We had been to Ruth's in other cities, but obviously I normally order steak. I was not feeling steak that day so chicken it was. The chicken came through for me. It was so good. The butter and cheese really give it flavor. It is also quite filling. You get a lot of food. For a side we got the Potatoes Au Gratin. The texture and three cheese sauce are what make this side. I love the crispy crust in a good au gratin. You also get bread for the table. The bread is good, but you have to be careful and save room for your actual meal. If you are craving steakhouse food on your vacation this is a good option. The staff really make it great. read more

We tried the stuffed chicken for the first time and it was divine. Did you know they have a kids menu? My kids had salmon and mac n cheese. My friends and I were in Mexico this past weekend and stopped into Ruth Chris for dinner. I want to start off by saying that I truly loved the service my friends and I received. We were greeted warmly and the servers explained each item on the menu with no problem. The scenery was beautiful. I got the rib eye and shared a side order of the mashed potatoes with my boyfriend. The steak was amazing. It was huge. I was upset because the Mac n cheese wasn't on the menu and I was looking forward to trying it as I'm a Big Mac n cheese lover. We had a great time. My friends and I visited this established over our week in Cancun. It was 24 of us that sat down and ate at this restaurant. At first the service was pleasant and very nice. All the services got the food order and drink order correct, the problem didn't start until the bill came. Everything was on one check which was perfectly fine. We used one card however when the card didn't go through the first two time one of the serves or the manager whoever the big guy is INSISTED that their wasn't any money on my card!! As a BLACK woman in a foreign country I found that highly distasteful and rude!! The bill was finally paid and he didnt even say thank you! 0/10 wouldn't recommend I had better service on the bus there then this restaurant!! The Cesar salad was so flavorful and a great portion. We chose the surf and turf (mar y tierra)...8oz lobster and 8 oz filet. It was the best steak and lobster we have EVER had. If you want the taste of home while in Cancun, I would highly suggest this restaurant! My family and I visited this restaurant on Thanksgiving because we were so sick of the lack luster food at our resort. The food is pricey but it is certainly worth it. The steaks are served on a plate that is 500 degrees. They are only salted, peppered, and topped with butter. Very minimal but delectable nonetheless. My sister ordered the chicken stuffed with garlic herb cheese and I think it was honestly better than my petite fillet. It was bursting with flavor and it was beautifully presented. With our dinner we ordered a 16 ounce baked potato that was dressed with butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and chives. The potato was more than enough for the three of us to share along with the order of potatoes au gratin. I think my favorite menu item was the potatoes au gratin. They were rich and creamy. The cheese sauce was just so amazing. It complimented the meal perfectly. If I ever visit a Ruth's Chris Steak House again, I will certainly remember to order my steak a little less cooked because it will continue to cook at the table on the 500 degree plate. I ordered my fillet medium well because I did not want too much pink...big mistake. Overall, if you are looking for an escape that it pretty pricey but delicious, I would take a cab here! I have to say that I am sure you can get a good steak at a few different places in town, for maybe a little cheaper, but the service definitely made our night. We were there with a party of 16 people on Thurs night. Antonio Moo was one of our 4 servers and was extremely attentive to everyone at all times.
