Our meal - ceviche + shrimp and lobster tacos
    Alicia C.

Felt the need to post a review that is recent because the ones we saw for this place were all multiple years old. The lunch we had here was the best meal we've had during our time in Mexico thus far. Well worth the money - the shrimp ceviche was the star of the show and so flavorful. There was nothing that we got that we didn't absolutely love. 10/10 recommend

We have been coming to Isla for over 10 years for 2 weeks - Caribbean Brsas is ALWAYS our first evening - amazing food, salads, pasta, Blackened Grouper - great local spot and feel. Both locals and is visitors. Prices are amazing - owner and team greet us every time and give us shout out when we drive by to and from Playa Norte! So far this year 9 days in 2 Dinners on-site and 2 nights Takeout .

My less adventurous friend--"My god, what did they put in these nachos? They're the best I've ever had". (They were really good.) I had the ceviche, made fresh, and wonderful. We came for a late lunch and had we not had to have the golf cart back, we would have loved to try the dinner menu after 5:30, too. Jesus is the bomb! Especially if you're only at La Isla for the day, don't bother going anywhere else.

We had an amazing time at dinner - brought our catch. Each night the chef prepared a different dish of barracuda, grouper, snapper, cobia and trigger each night. Great service, food and atmosphere!

This place is hit or miss. Some of the dishes were amazing while others were very disappointing. I would stay away from any dishes with beef both the beef carpaccio and ribeye were tuff and unappetizing. The appetizers were great definitely order the tuna spring rolls and calamari. The blacked grouper with shrimp special was definitely the star of the show. It was outstanding and definitely what you need to order when you come here. It has a a nice ambiance and there was great live music. The service was extremely slow however, they were almost completely full.

We were trying to go to mango cafe but it was closed for renovations. Tired and frustrated from waking we continued on a few more feet and stumbled on Caribbean Brisas. What a pleasant surprise! Everyone was instantly in a better mood when served the amazing bloody Mary's! Our waiter was super attentive and patient with our large group and separate checks and even let us pay with a credit card to save our cash. The food fell in line with the service, everything was excellent! If you want sweet, get the French toast, if you want savory I had the stuffed bell pepper and it was so yummy! My only suggestion is to get a variety of hot sauce . We asked for cholula sauce and they brought an oily chili sauce which was still good!

Came here during my stay at Isla Mujeres and had the Seafood Plate (lobster, shrimp, mussels, calamari, octopus, etc). So much food to share among two people for only $60 USD. Extremely affordable considering how much food was given and for how fresh it was! The garlic butter with the seafood plate was to die for. It was delicious and the service was great! Be warned though that they actually only accept cash.

This spot had great service and an enjoyable atmosphere. The food was decent. The guac was very limey and that's really all I could taste. The Caesar salad tasted like it had been sitting and the lettuce got soggy. The blackened grouper with jumbo shrimp was a 9/10, the fish was amazing, it was a buttery dish. Would recommend going for dinner!

Wow! Doesn't even cut it! The food is beyond incredible here and great service. We were in a group of 8 and everyone loved their food!

Stop here and enjoy a great experience! Let me start by saying I'm thankful that we didn't pass this place up and we ate here. The entire staff feels like a family and the place is fresh and clean. Best of all the food and the service were a knock out of the park. I had the lobster quesadilla and my husband had the mussels in Chardonnay. Wow! We also decided to share some fajitas and get a bucket of Sol. The food came quickly and tasted fresh and seasoned to perfection. Ugh please do yourself the favor and eat here. You will not regret it. Side note- we bumped into the owners eating close to us and they are amazing, hospitable and friendly!

I enjoyed the home made pasta with shrimp alfredo- the sauce was fantastic and they didn't skimp on the shrimp. Our friends had the coconut shrimp and steak tacos. The craft beer is from a brewery in Cancun and you can do a flight of four or eight, or a beer cocktail! I can't recommend this place enough and hope they do well!

Water and ice was potable, for anyone worried about that. Also, the waiter saw we were struggling to order in Spanish so he told us, "I speak English, too. Don't worry." We had a big laugh about that The shrimp cocktail was incredible, as was the spinach artichoke dip. Plus, my little brother is super picky about textures, but there was zero chunks of anything in the dip, so he ate it with us. (It might not sound like a big deal, but it always makes my mom so happy when he tries something new, and not many places make puréed artichoke dip. The extra effort meant a lot to my mom and brother) He also doesn't like seafood (just as a preference) so he got a burger, and he RAVED about how good it was. The whole table went crazy for the homemade potato chips! Oh my word! Not too salty and not too bland. Would absolutely order again and then take another to go! The music wasn't too loud, and the sports bar entertained my stepdad while we had our Piña Coldas (which were also very good with Malibu). There was also big fans to cool us down on such a hot day!! I would 1000% go back there if getting to and from Isla Mujeres wasn't such a hassle Advice to anyone going here: stick to the seafood and hamburgers. I wouldn't recommend getting sushi anywhere that isn't an asian specialty restaurant Seafood is their specialty, and Snapper's does that WELL!

Just don't go! The decor and especially outside sofa chairs are very inviting. It is a facade; a trick; a lie. Una mentira. First red flag: this place has multiple names: L'Argentina Grill Argentina Steakhouse "The Steakhouse" (huge painted on building) There are two foods I love the most: tacos and hamburgers. So when I go to Cancun/Mujeres I eat lots of tacos. Eventually I crave hamburgers. Enter Argentina. The service was pretty poor. I've traveled plenty and understand the difference between service in the US vs elsewhere. Here we were just ignored or passed over too long. Eventually we got water and ordered a bottle of wine. They struggled a bit suggesting wines. Everything we ordered was our server's favorite... :) lucky us. Ordered some appetizers. I didn't like them and don't remember what they were. Got dinner (burger and fries). The fries were lame. I don't even mind frozen fries. But these were just bland and useless. The burger patty seemed like it was steamed or boiled. I didn't like it. Any fast food burger joint, in Mexico or the US, would have been superior. Service was slow and not helpful. I ate at about 12 restaurants in Cancun and Mujeres, and they were all delicious, except for this one place. And this was by far the priciest (well, except for the beachside dinner at the ritz which was fine dining on another level... not fair to compare) If you eat at this restaurant, after reading these reviews, that's your bad. Don't be me. Don't be a sucker. Spend way less money for way better food and service, anywhere on the island. Pick any food stand. Any bar. Any hotel. Any restaurant. They all have better food. Pick any of them. Two stars because the wine wasn't terrible, and some of the food was edible. But seriously teetering on giving a 1 star. It was absolutely not worth it. I will definitely never go back. On an island in the Caribbean, maybe I shouldn't have sought out beef at all. Next time I'll stick to local fare (seafood) at restaurants that aren't clearly created to gouge tourists. I kinda feel responsible, because in retrospect, this place is clearly a tourist trap racket. Either way, do yourself, your wallet, and your loved ones a huge favor: eat anywhere else.

I also can never complain about "free" food- so truly a 5/5. But since I am here to be an honest yelper, let's dive into the details! We were able to dine here twice during our stay, and were able to get reservations only by booking a day in advance- it's not a place you can get into last minute, at least during the busy season- and that goes for all of the restaurants on the property. The staff was BEYOND amazing, truly so kind, helpful, considerate, professional, everything I would hope for and more. We were celebrating my birthday and they sang a wonderful song and remembered us the second time we came back- a few days later. We had a few hits and a few less-exciting dishes when we visited, so I will touch on those. We came back a second time because of the Octopus. He had it two different ways, and My fiance raved about it, a total hit. I tested almost every caesar salad on the property and this one was my favorite. The strawberry jelly dessert with whatever that crumbly stuff was- a big yes from both of us! They unfortunately didn't have it the second time and that may have been a big reason we returned- so bummer! But good to know that stuff is made fresh and therefore runs out. For the less-appetizing dishes- the cauliflower. If you look at my photo of it, it truly was just a slab of cauliflower- slightly undercooked and underseasoned. There was a sweet potato puree and a coconut milk drizzle, all so creative, but ultimately lacked flavor. Skip this one. The carrot cake looks like it has evolved over the years when I look at other yelpers photos, ours was unfortunately prettier than it was tasty. I would transport back here in a heartbeat if given the chance though! Oh and the WINE!! Enjoy!

Also disappointingly the chocolate cake and carrot cake were both very dry and a major let down for dessert. Our wise waiter hinted to us to try the chocolate ice cream, which was so creamy and saved the end of our dinner! All in all, La Casona may not have been our favorite spot at the resort, but it was still a great dinner option with fine ambiance. We will remember their mussels and live trumpet music fondly!
