We were staying just a few doors down from Kin Ha and approached it with a bit of trepidation as we weren't quite sure how the beach clubs worked. When we entered they explained that there was no charge or minimum to spend for using the tables and a minimum of 500 pesos per person to use the loungers. We planned to stay for several hours so chose the loungers. Our server was attentive but not at all pushy and we swam a bit before ordering any food or drinks. The food was reasonably priced for a resort. My young adult and teenage children had nachos, Mac and cheese with chicken, chicken fingers and fries, shrimp tacos and chicken pastor tacos. Along with some cocktails, sodas and beer we met our minimum easily. We enjoyed the rope swing, snorkeling and the pool. Unfortunately the current was strong so they were not allowing anyone to take paddle boards or kayaks out. We spent about five hours there. My youngest said it was his favorite day of our trip. read more

This was our favorite place on the island. They are situated right on the water and have paddle boards and kayaks available to take out while you visit (provided you spend at least 500 pesos). You can stay as long as you like - just can't sit in a lounge chair (table and chairs only) as those are for hotel guests. The snorkeling here is incredible and it's a beautiful place to take photos and relax on the dock. The food is great too! We came here a few times and got a variety of items - fries, mozzarella sticks, nachos, Mac and cheese, etc. They offer a robust menu that changes at noon from breakfast to lunch/dinner options. read more

We stayed at Maria's Kan Kin and ate most of our meals at Loretta's, but decided to make the short walk to Kin Ha one night for a change of pace. The place was nearly deserted for dinner with only 2 other tables. The menu was much closer to bar food than actual restaurant (like Loretta's). While the arrachera nachos were excellent, the mahi-mai prepared tikin xic style was a pale shadow of what we had elsewhere. This is almost certainly a better lunch than dinner spot. read more

This was one of the best places on the Isla. The views were gorgeous! I was shocked at the amount of things you could do on this resort! There was a swim up bar, a dining area, live music, beach chairs on the sand, out door seating! And the food was good too! Drinks were great as well and service was awesome! This was hands down one of my favorite parts of my Cancun trip! Kin Ha is located in the island of Isla Mujeres, which was a 30 min ferry ride from Hotel Zone and had to travel on a golf cart to get there. They had the best tasting food out of everything I ate that weekend: we ordered Shrimp ceviche, Shrimp aguachile, Tuna tataki, and coconut shrimp. Everything tasted fresh. The coconut shrimp was hard and big, but it was still good. Dishes we ordered were about $15-25 USD. I also ordered a mango smoothie, which was perfect on this sunny day. What's cool about this restaurant is everything is outdoor, has a pool, and has access to the boardwalk to the clear ocean, where there are swings and a space to jump off. A lot of photo ops. Super fun! I wish we could've stayed longer. No complaints about the service. read more

The food is good, the service is sub par. We went there for breakfast and we were asking how much to rent a chair for the day, we were told $500mx consume fee, then free, then $750mx consume fee. It's all very confusing, and everyone gave us different answers. I'm not sure if we didn't look rich enough or what, but it was just a very weird vibe. We were prepared to spend some money, but just wasn't feeling the vibe. Preface: this recommendation came from a random man at a bar in Cancun. He swore bybthe place and INSISTED we check it out. The review: I'm confused. The food isn't good. This is a phenomenal beach club for a low key all day vibe. The drinks were steady, the included activities, and off beaten path type of crowd. This isn't a dive bat but this place isn't winning any tourism awards for unique experiences. Food. Granted I ordered wings, cheese fries, and fish tacos (I know, shame on me). The chicken wings tasted like reheated wings from the Friday's takeout section at the grocery store, the ranch was sitting so long it turned slightly yellow. I only got the wings because I've eaten tacos for four days straight...I just wanted something familiar. The cheese fries were the biggest let down... like limp fries, canned cheese sauce, too many red onions, and slices of jalapeño made a very unbalanced plate. Just skip it. The chicken tenders were edible. The winner was the fish tacos. Should have known better. Order what is local to the area. Pretty, hefty, and flavorful. The drinks are good for a decent price for the area. The vibe is stellar. It's literally a beach club with a private beach, water toys, lawn chairs, and tunes. My husband and I spent a wonderful day at Kin Ha. Without question, the highlight of our stay was Jesus. He took amazing care of us from the minute we got there to the minute we left. Even going so far as to helping us move umbrellas to keep us in the shade when we got hot! He always had a smile and a kind word. We would go back to Kin Ha just for Jesus. We ordered the guacamole and the calamari, both of which were delicious. The water was crystal clear and warm. We loved this place for a day trip. Get there early like 10:15-10:30 and grab lounge chairs if you have a larger group. We hung on the lounge area and enjoyed the blue Hawaiian drinks (pina colada with blue caracua). Get up and got into the water to cool off, swim, jump off the swing on the pier. So fun and relaxing. Food was tasty. We had nachos with chicken added, guacamole, cheeseburger, mozzarella sticks, and fries. Curly fries are so good, better than the plain kind. We loved our waiter. He did a great job. We found this little spot (that is connected to some villas but not part of any hotel or villa complex) on our way to the South Point trails. They have a very nice space with multiple levels and nice views of the sea. Not a great beach, but they do have a swimming area. The food was good - I had the chilaquiles and my gf had a nice breakfast sandwich. Coffee was good. My only complaint is that our server refused to have his mask cover his mouth and nose. We asked if he could please cover up while at our table and especially while bringing our food out, but he just wouldn't do it. We aren't in the "mask police" but servers should comply with the local rules if nothing else to demonstrate that they are aware of the rules. read more

Found the place by mistake and needed to call the cab. Hotel owner with same name said no they're open. A guy there said no. I've read some reviews for this place and others. The exchange rate for US dollar is higher but that's why you get pesos before you come or get some on the island at a bank that doesn't charge a higher rate. These places have to exchange our US currency and they take a hit on the transfer fee. People on these reviews are expecting the Italian Riviera. These are fancy resorts mixed in with impoverished homes, on an island. An island, where everything comes in by boats. The availability of all items depends on the reliability of products being delivered on time. Turn down your entitlement and stop acting like you're saving these people with your mere presence. These are people who never leave good reviews, only bad ones and probably never leave gratuity. We stayed at Casa de Los Suenos so we ate a majority of our meals here. The food is excellent, we tried everything on the menu. The Swiss rolled enchiladas for breakfast was a family favorite. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The same goes for our Hotel. I'm pretty sure most of these reviews are fake. The food was terrible and similar in quality to the all inclusive resorts at the hotel zone. We had a party of 12 and everybody complained about the food. I don't understand why it's rated highly. Their exchange rate is 16.60 pesos per USD so they skim an extra ~20% off the top. On an island whose name is practically synonymous with "tourist trap," it's impressive when you find a restaurant that not only overcharges and treats customers indifferently but goes out of its way to make sure you perceive exactly how much contempt its managers and employees have for the people who give them jobs and pay their bills. We arrived for dinner about an hour before sunset. The place was nearly empty, but, after we were shown to a table, no one greeted us, brought menus, or took our order for 20 minutes. While we waited though, we had time to understand that the restaurant could not have cared less about any customer who didn't want to drink or eat in the presence of cigarette smoke. The entire outside area -- which is essentially the entire restaurant -- is a smoking area. You can't get away from it. The only solution we were told, was to sit inside. But we had come specifically to be able to have drinks and eat dinner while watching the sunset in the open air, but ALL of the open air is a smoking area. Why do smokers get the option of ALL the most pleasant seats and ALL the best views? Good question, but you won't get an answer from Kin Ha. We had to move three times to get relatively clean air. The staff was completely indifferent and unhelpful. We were finally able to flag someone down and put in a drink order. What we were served was a nearly tasteless piña colada that seemed to have no alcohol in it and a mojito in which floated black, withered mint leaves. The waiter then disappeared. We finished our drinks and waited. A long time. Once again, we had to flag someone down to take our food order. We knew we'd be getting pub fare and didn't have high expectations, but the food was nearly inedible. The cheeseburger came with a flattened, dried-out bun, an over-cooked patty, and a tiny slice of cheese. No lettuce or tomato -- but lots of pickles, for crying out loud. The "Mexican Lasagne" was like one of those "mid-week casseroles" out of a 1960s women's magazine: a pile of alternating tortillas with what can only be described as glop layered between them. It arrived cold. No ketchup or other condiments were brought or offered. We asked for ketchup -- and waited. Eventually it arrived. We needed napkins but had to ask for them. They did not arrive and I wound up going to the bar and picking up a handful myself. Zero attention from the waiter after that. After we'd asked for the check, a heavily "over-served" heterosexual couple in the pool got into a loud and vulgar fight that seemed headed for physical violence. The staff was pretending nothing was happening. We paid as fast as we could and left. All of this for $910 MX -- or about $45 USD at today's exchange rate. (Oh, but if you wanted to pay in dollars, the bill was $56 and change because it's not fun injuring people if you can't insult them as well.) Go anywhere else.
