They are blasting loud music at the entrance but its not that load at the far corners. The service was great. I came in with a coconut from a vendor and they washed it and removed the meat for us. I got the lobster all dressed. The onions on top was too much so I picked all that off and ate a few pieces of the them. But the lobster was good. The butter that comes with it is actually a mix of ground up chili with butter so I didn't use that either. But the broccoli was very buttery and tasted good. This is a very good beach club. It is right on the beach and it is a beautiful view. Service was excellent! Beach water is clear, very few waves and only waist high so that is good for families with little ones. You pay $70 for two chairs and an umbrella and this does not include food. Food was good, drinks were average (taste good but you're not going to get a buzz). This includes use of the bathrooms (two small underwhelming stalls/one for each gender), showers and small pool. It's not overcrowded which is nice. Definitely worth going to especially with children. read more

Great spot with direct beach access. Customer service is top notch with very attentive staff. Lots of vendors that come up for you to browse at what they have. The vibe is relaxing, chill, and a dj was there playing great hits while we lounged and took sun. The beach access from here is amazing. But the food was even more amazing. The shrimp are a must but caution because camarones a la diabla are spicy! Spicy but packed with flavor. It's a great spot to lounge from a quick meal to all day. Best beach club in North Beach!! We visited 2 days in a row and while the beach was pretty crowded, the area in front of Las hamacas had a lot less people which allowed for a clear view of the water. The service was great on both days. We had frozen margaritas, fresh coconut water, and nachos, which were all good. My favorite meal was shrimp tacos! May be the best thing I ate while visiting isla mujeres. On Sunday there was a live band. A few ppl were up and dancing. The band really was great. On one of the days it rained, but we were able to move under their covered bar area which is really cute and instagrammable. They also have a little gym area in the sand, so you can get a workout in or take some cute pictures/videos. It's also a great spot to watch the sunset ! read more

Review your bill carefully when visiting this place. Was charged 3 times, 3 different ways for 1 drink. Ordered a Michelada and was charged for a Michelada, Chelada, and the beer that went in it. Also, ordered a coconut drink and was charged for that drink plus another charge for the alcohol put in it. Also, paid cash for my lounge chairs and was charged again when paying my final bill. When I called them on this, they said it was a mistake. I can get a simple mistake or overlook a double charge as a mistake but this was an obvious attempt to rip us off. I don't recall the waiters name but he had tattoos on his neck. Giving it a 2 star because the beach was beautiful and ceviche and aguachiles were tasty with plentiful helpings. Bummer we got rained out. They had a pool. A regular seating area. There in no charge in the restaurant side. But on the beach you had to pay 30 for the beach chairs and umbrella. It is right on playa Norte. I took of a star for charging us a separate fee for the seats, plus food. read more

I only had a couple of hours in Isla Mujeres before catching a flight, so I hit up Punta Sur and Playa Norte. Without any real bearings for the island, I went for the vibe. Las Hamacas was laid back and right on the beach. There were several friendly workers who greeted me immediately and made me feel comfortable as a solo lady. There were hammocks all around, as the name suggests! I had really yummy drinks, and the menu looked extensive, though I didn't eat anything. Jordie, the bar tender, was incredibly nice and even lent me his swimming mask so that I could check out the reef at the end of the beach. I felt very safe there and was thankful for the outdoor shower and changing area in the back so I could get ready to fly home. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely go back. read more

Awful. This place is run by highly dishonest staff. We were told a 2x1 happy hour. Went to pay and they came up with a million reasons why what we had been told couldn't work. Supposedly it would have not been their waiter, not have been the right size glass, not have been the right cocktails, not have been the right time, not have been the right shirt on the waiter, not even exist. They gave us everything they could think of. Eventually they threatened to call the police so we ended up paying, but wow. After living in Mexico for 18 months, this is by far the worst scam and lie I've come across. If you want to pay more than needed and be played, go for it. Otherwise, stay away. read more

The workers were very very rude. The price was extremely high for this terrible experience. They shut off the water supply while I was rinsing off my body from the salt water without any notice or explanation. I asked to speak the manager. They asked me to jump in a filthy water tank that called "pool" to complete rinsing. I was in complete shock and told them I am not jumping in that water and was about to call the cops when they finally agreed to open the water supply again. Recommendation for management...require a minimum spend for food and beverage instead of charging for seats. I would not come back unless this was corrected. Beautiful place, in front of the beach, menu is big. However we had a bad service experience. We waited over an hour for our food. We had to leave due to timing and missing our boat ride. When we got there the waiter didn't get to take our order for over 20 min. We asked for shade and it took him three attention calls from us to get some shade. Then it took them another 10 min to get our order of drinks to the table correctly. After waiting 1 and 20 min, we had to go and decided to go pay for what we had consumed (drinks and guac). They wanted to charge us for everything that was ordered even though we never got our food. We attempted to disputed and we got threaten with the police, due our lack of time we had to give in and paid even though our food was never given. There were a couple of talented and fun guys playing music which livened up our experience. The wooden dumbbells and bar hang amused our kids, as did the ocean front location. we didn't eat here but drinks were okay. my main issue with this place is the truly obnoxious music they play usually starting in the afternoon. they are competing with Tarzan's and it's like they are trying to drown them out. it was hard to sit and visit with friends and listen to the distorted base playing really bad music. read more
