Excellent spot at Playa Norte. Amazing ambience and service and food, OMG the food is another level! I definatecome back! Samuel attended so great! Very kind and great service. I highly reccomedn it. 450 pesos for the chairs and umbrella , and minimum of a lunch and a drink per person. Amazing spot to enjoy Playa Norte

Best beach club in North Beach!! We visited 2 days in a row and while the beach was pretty crowded, the area in front of Las hamacas had a lot less people which allowed for a clear view of the water. The service was great on both days. We had frozen margaritas, fresh coconut water, and nachos, which were all good. My favorite meal was shrimp tacos! May be the best thing I ate while visiting isla mujeres. On Sunday there was a live band. A few ppl were up and dancing. The band really was great. On one of the days it rained, but we were able to move under their covered bar area which is really cute and instagrammable. They also have a little gym area in the sand, so you can get a workout in or take some cute pictures/videos. It's also a great spot to watch the sunset !

Las Hamacas is such a quaint wonderful establishment. The bartenders treat you well, they make a good drink. The surroundings are beautiful, nice hammocks, and pool too feel refreshed. Hidden gem.

Bummer we got rained out. They had a pool. A regular seating area. There in no charge in the restaurant side. But on the beach you had to pay 30 for the beach chairs and umbrella. It is right on playa Norte. I took of a star for charging us a separate fee for the seats, plus food.

I only had a couple of hours in Isla Mujeres before catching a flight, so I hit up Punta Sur and Playa Norte. Without any real bearings for the island, I went for the vibe. Las Hamacas was laid back and right on the beach. There were several friendly workers who greeted me immediately and made me feel comfortable as a solo lady. There were hammocks all around, as the name suggests! I had really yummy drinks, and the menu looked extensive, though I didn't eat anything. Jordie, the bar tender, was incredibly nice and even lent me his swimming mask so that I could check out the reef at the end of the beach. I felt very safe there and was thankful for the outdoor shower and changing area in the back so I could get ready to fly home. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely go back.

Probably one of the nicest places to eat on the island BEST COCKTAILS - recommend: Just beet and the one with mezcal, Jamaica, lemon, and sal de gusano rim. Mezcal margaritas are great here as well We ate here for 6 meals, my favourite dishes: - SHRIMP TACOS - basically huge juicy crispy grilled prawns with the works - Garlic Shrimp - you just gotta have them, they're whole shrimps grilled head and all, the sauce is amazing Overall one of the better places to eat on the island, would definitely revisit

Awful. This place is run by highly dishonest staff. We were told a 2x1 happy hour. Went to pay and they came up with a million reasons why what we had been told couldn't work. Supposedly it would have not been their waiter, not have been the right size glass, not have been the right cocktails, not have been the right time, not have been the right shirt on the waiter, not even exist. They gave us everything they could think of. Eventually they threatened to call the police so we ended up paying, but wow. After living in Mexico for 18 months, this is by far the worst scam and lie I've come across. If you want to pay more than needed and be played, go for it. Otherwise, stay away.

There is a charge of 450 pesos which is paid in cash for the chair/umbrella which is not applied towards consumption, you must also consume food/drinks. Service was kind of slow due to server taking care of multiple people but he was a very nice guy.The drinks were great and the location was even better. Saw a lot of big fish in the water. We spent 1090 pesos for 2 people

This place was delicious!!! A must eat. Even better in Sunday for the live Cuban music! You can't go wrong with anything in the menu, however I recommend the Cameron Al ojo de ajo (garlic shrimp), cheeseburgers for the beef eaters, fried fish (catch of the day), and the tikinixchi fish! You will not regret. Even the fries were bomb AF!

Came for a relaxing vacation and was blown away by the amazing, tasting food here. We absolutely loved everything about our dinner!! Staff was super friendly and inviting & bonus they had a menu in English!! You MUST order the shrimp guacamole--we also loved the catch of the day tacos - were grouper!! Steak tacos the bomb too!! We stuffed ourselves with 2 desserts - mouth watering!! Highly, highly recommend!!!

Our family had a lovely evening dining beachfront at Las Hamacas. We all enjoyed our food. The grilled steak burrito I had was excellent. Drinks were good. There were a couple of talented and fun guys playing music which livened up our experience. The wooden dumbbells and bar hang amused our kids, as did the ocean front location. We will definitely be back next time we come to Isla! Nice vibe!

She was walking us a little towards the back, but since it was my first time to Isla, I wanted to people-watch, so I asked about a table up front. As soon as we headed over, I saw why she passed it - it was right next to the saxophone player! Thank goodness his volume level was perfect! Just loud enough to be heard over the crowds walking down the 'lane' out front and the restaurant diners' chatting. But not so loud that we 3 couldn't chat. We loved it! Now these two can EAT - and love to try everything on the menu, whereas I tend to eat smaller portions. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic - huge pieces of shrimp, so good! The lobster mac n cheese is so good, I would have loved to bring a big container of it home with me! The restaurant is very busy but very clean and tables are well organized for maneuvering a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. Our server, Maylen was attentive and pleasant. The bar area, facing the street, looked like a lot of fun, I'll have to try it next time!

Pro tip with all tacos: you gotta eat it fast or else the tortilla collapses in your hand. They had these amazing chips to go with not your usual salsa but a ketchup/mayo combo and a very very spicy chili crisp. I made the mistake of eating too many of the chips and not having enough room for my tacos. The coconut shrimp was just okay. Very tiny shrimp. My husband raved about the lime soup here for the rest of the trip; I can confirm that it was excellent. Fun casual atmosphere - our food came out pretty fast, even with all of the tables filled. Bonus points for playing music videos of 2010s pop hits on the tv by our table.

This restaurant definitely had I more local vibe compared to some of the tourist places up north. As soon as we got there I could tell the employees or maybe even the owner started counting up how many women are party and started to shuffling the tables around to accommodate us. This was definitely one of the highlights in terms of The food that we had. Everyone was happy with their dreams and their food We got the mixed grill which served for adults. The shrimp, the lobster, the steak, the chorizo all of it was a good mix. There was a lot of vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower as well as a salad. Someone else in our party got the enchiladas and a burrito and they're very particular about their Mexican food and they both said it was the best meal of the Trip. The only item I wouldn't order and not because it's bad just because it wasn't as good was the carbonara. I ordered it to split between the children and they actually loved it but if I were an Italian I would probably be left wanting.

Here are the top three reasons why you should go here multiple times. 1)The food. All homemade and perfectly portioned. The guacamole and cheesy dish was the best appetizer I've ever had. I was pretty full with just that. Even the chips are homemade. For dinner we ate tacos and a quesadilla, both solid and eaten quickly. Earlier we got an omelette and it was perfect with plenty of sides. 2)Price. We two appetizers, two entrees and drinks and it cost about 300 pesos. That's 15 bucks for us Americanos. If you walked about ten steps across the street, you would pay for the same food at about triple that price. 2)People. So this place does not have fancy music, TVs or even nice chairs. It's simple, clean and family run. They were always super nice and quiet, never pushing anything but still attentive to our needs. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

Because we had been on the resort for the majority of the time, we were on the hunt for an authentic taco stand on the island. After passing what seemed like 100 tourist trap restaurants, we walked right up to this place. One look at the handwritten menu and quaint, outdoor kitchen, we knew we had found the place. The menu featured various tacos, empanadas, ceviche, and other traditional Mexican street foods. I ordered three chicharron tacos (because I'm obsessed with fried pork), while my bf ordered an al pastor, a chorizo, and a chicharrón taco, along with three empanadas. The food was made fresh, so there was a bit of a wait, but not too long. Man oh man, was it worth the wait. I honestly wasn't even hungry, but couldn't pass up the chance to eat street tacos in MX. The chicharron was perfectly crispy with a nice fat-to-skin-to-meat ratio. Did I mention that the tortillas were all freshly handmade as well? Additionally, their salsa picante was just that-- picante! It was hot as Hades, which wasn't apparent from the light green color of the sauce. But try some, it's worth it. I was in Mexico for four days and these chicharron tacos were, without a doubt, the best thing I ate. Nom nom!
