After passing what seemed like 100 tourist trap restaurants, we walked right up to this place. One look at the handwritten menu and quaint, outdoor kitchen, we knew we had found the place. The menu featured various tacos, empanadas, ceviche, and other traditional Mexican street foods. I ordered three chicharron tacos (because I'm obsessed with fried pork), while my bf ordered an al pastor, a chorizo, and a chicharrón taco, along with three empanadas. The food was made fresh, so there was a bit of a wait, but not too long. Man oh man, was it worth the wait. I honestly wasn't even hungry, but couldn't pass up the chance to eat street tacos in MX. The chicharron was perfectly crispy with a nice fat-to-skin-to-meat ratio. Did I mention that the tortillas were all freshly handmade as well? Additionally, their salsa picante was just that-- picante! It was hot as Hades, which wasn't apparent from the light green color of the sauce. But try some, it's worth it. I was in Mexico for four days and these chicharron tacos were, without a doubt, the best thing I ate. Nom nom!
