Stopped in for lunch after traveling. Service was amazing! We rolled in luggage and were seated immediately. We ordered the taco platter, calamari and shrimp civiche. The civiche was super fresh, calamari cooked well, and the tacos were full of flavor and seafood. Highly recommend you stop!
We loved this restaurant so much we ate there twice! The service was fantastic both times and the portions are HUGE! We especially loved the ceviche, margaritas, and fish tacos. The steak tacos were also awesome. This was hands down the best waterfront restaurant on the island. The food was consistently good and fresh! Well worth the money. The view and waterfront location are perfect for evening meals.
Was visiting Isla Mujeres and this place is a MUST after the long day of exploring the island! My bf and I were greeted warmly and were sat in the shade with a lovely view of the beach. We started with the onion rings and calamari rings which were MIND BLOWING. What do they put in the batter and how do they make it so perfectly crisp and delicious! This was actually the best onion rings I've ever had. The batter was super crispy but also maintained an airy lightness that lets the onion and calamari shine through. The tarter sauce that came with it was the perfect dip and really made the dish addicting! I can't wait to visit Cancun again just to go here and get more haha! For entrees we ordered an assortment of fish and beef tacos! Beef tacos were great but the star of the show were the fish tacos! My bf is the most picky when it comes to seafood and for the whole week after we came here he would not stop talking about how good it was! Fish was fresh, fried beautifully, and super flavorful! Bottom line is to get the onion/calamari rings and the fish tacos! You won't be disappointed!!
Worth the stop. It's hard to find...behind a gas station behind the main drag. It it's worth the find! We started off with calamari rings. Great seasoning we asked for ranch dressing to dip and they delivered a homemade ranch that was delicious. My daughter doesn't like sea food so she got the Alfredo and was very pleased. I got the grilled fish of the day in garlic it was flaky. I was very fortunate as grouper was the fish of the day. It was delicious! My husband had the Thai shrimp. His biggest comment was how fresh it was. All of the servers were terrific and the margaritas...wow! Great stop
Best place hands down for lobster. I can even begin to say how good it is. The Captains platter or Marina platter. 2 large lobster, 6 shrimp and either steak or grouper. Incredible. We came here on a request from a local friend and it was incredible. Right on the water and very good service.
I don't know if this place is only for rich people or not. We went in with cartoon t shirts and shorts. We have to look for a waitress to get us a table. After that I have to come and ask someone to take our orders. Our order included food and lemonade soda. we waited 10' after the order there was a chip and half of the sauce cup came out. Of course the sauce was gone fast. We waited a bit to see if anyone come by and refill the sauce but no one. I think they are getting busier so I just get attention from one of the waiter to get refill. The waiter response was not pleasant at all-he didn't say anything but definitely we are not feeling being welcome here. The food finally came out but our drink was still missing. So I asked the waiter, obviously they missed it, we have to order again. There wasn't any apologies. After he brought the drink and food to us, we were left there alone. No one come to ask us if we needed anything else. There were other tables that I notice they got sit, order, chip and drink right away. They got services consistently. This is not the end yet. I had to come ask ask for the check. They came and clean up the table. One waiter asked if everything is good ( thank you for notice us when we already finished the food). The total is 550 peso. I paid exact amount of money The waiter looked at the money and said the total didn't include the tip. I told him I didnt get good service and he gave me nasty attitude. I just walked away. I wasn't happy with the service since beginning and I felt being treated differently w others because of the way I dress or because I'm Asian. The food is good but the service is VERY VERY HORRIBLE. The owner of the restaurant has to EDUCATE the STAFFS need to respect and service people in order to get TIPS. I'm not begging for the food here. I paid for the food. If you don't want us please put the sign you don't want any people dress poorly came to restaurant. I wouldn't come back here and I will try to warn the others. There are so many other places on the island even so much cheaper with so much better service with better people. Please do not come here at all!
I'm not going to lie; I saw this joint in a little map we got of Isla Mujeres. It looked so picturesque next to the water that we searched it out after our adventures. It wasn't very busy which sometimes can mean it's not that great, but honestly, it's hidden behind a gas station so you have to know where to look! They have a lot of seafood and will even cook yours if you've been out fishing. The service was good and friendly. We were shown to our table right next to the water where there were fishing boats docked and some workers on the pier. I had a Sunrise margarita (medium), and it was HUGE. Also very tasty! We had appetizers of guacamole and onion rings. The guacamole was good, but let me stop for a second on those onion rings. I have never had better ones! I'm not a huge onion ring fan, can take or leave them. My sister was the one who wanted them, and I'm so glad! I had no idea an unassuming seafood place could have such amazing ones! The batter was light and crispy like a tempura. They were sprinkled with fresh herbs and served with an herbed aioli. Oh my goodness. Seriously heavenly. I had the fish and chips and didn't really eat the chips. The fish was grouper, and it was fried in the same sort of batter as the onion rings in nice large chunks, but that made it easier to eat. It was very good indeed, and I would expect nothing less at a seafood restaurant on a Caribbean island even if it is in the middle of a tourist area. My sister also got the Brazilian fish filet. I don't remember the type of fish, but it also came with shrimp and had a tantalizing glaze on it that I could smell across the table! I believe it had sesame oil and coconut milk in the glaze. All in all, an amazing experience!
Back on the island. Ordered the shrimp tacos as they are raved about in the reviews. Was told by our waiter they were out of shrimp tacos...ok. Weird, but Fine. Whatever. Ordered a Caesar salad. The table behind us was seated and 3 damn people in their party ordered...shrimp and fish tacos...which they got and devoured. Happily. I was pissed and not at all amused. Won't be returning.
This is all I was in search of. A piece of heaven on Earth in Isla Mujeres. The best shrimp and fish tacos we have ever had. Delicious fresh seafood caught that morning is what's served at this gem. It's the kind of place you'll dream about coming to when looking for an escape from the real world. Pull up a chair, enjoy some amazingly fresh seafood tacos and a cold cerveza while hanging out right on the water. Life doesn't get much better than this.

We had the fried Calamari, Guacamole, shrimp ceviche, pico de gallo, ballyhoo fish tacos, garlic grilled shrimp, steak fajitas, and all the drinks were phenomenal. The crowd is always fun, the owner comes by your table to check on you, and the servers are always attentive. The prices are incredibly fair. The video I posted doesn't even do this restaurant justice, the view is impeccable especially at sunset. We always come back and you should too. read more

Location was great. Drinks were solid. Service was decent. Only issue, was that the fish was a little small with small portions. Fish was seasoned well, and view was amazing, but the portion could've been bigger. read more

We loved this restaurant so much we ate there twice! The service was fantastic both times and the portions are HUGE! We especially loved the ceviche, margaritas, and fish tacos. The steak tacos were also awesome. This was hands down the best waterfront restaurant on the island. The food was consistently good and fresh! Well worth the money. This joint is back open and run by Lily and run very well. I've eaten several times off the menu and they prepare the fish you catch and wow it's so amazing. Great cocktails and you could toss a rock into the water. Absolutely a great place to go drink and eat. read more

The food was good but the service was sub par. They charged us 12-1 AND added an additional gratuity for our party. The exchange is 18-1. I guess anything goes in Mexico. The large margaritas were $45USD. They have no AC & few fans to circulate air, very stuffy. read more

Bally Hoo is a nice restaurant with good fresh food and strong margaritas. It's one of the better restaurants located near the ferry on the island. We dropped in and had some amazing fish and steak tacos and a couple of great margaritas. I would say the only thing that was off the day we visited was the service; it was really slow and hard to get drink refills, but the food and drink made up for it. read more
Thought about it for a while, but finally pushed the button for 5 Stars; really a 4.5, but went with 5 because of the atmosphere. Was enjoying a ... "beverage" for breakfast, and sent a photo of the breakfast menu to my brother and his wife. They suggested the Mexican Omlette, which I ordered. Turned out to be a top 5 omlette that I've ever had, as we're the potatoes. Chorizo in the omlette was excellent, sauce on top excellent too (cumin gave it a distinct flavor). Whatever they coat/dredge the potatoes in was unique and awesome! Service was great. And I was able to add a few more spanish words to my vocabulary while talking to the waiters. Gracias! Fish was fresh catch and immaculate. I enjoyed watching the fisherman bring in fresh catches! Food was plentiful and delicious. Everyone was nice. Was a little annoying as kids were trying to sell us things while we ate but it was only a minor distraction. Beautiful view while we ate! Can't wait to visit Mexico again and stop by. read more

Excellent. On the bay blue-turquoise beaches in Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Fantastic Catch of the Day offered here very fresh seafood caught that morning and served fresh for lunch and dinner. Probably the highlights my visit to Isla Mujeres. Pay in pesos will get a better exchange than paying in dollars. read more

Bally-Hoo can be a bit hard to find but well worth it. Guacamole is the best on the island. Fresh avocados with diced onions, tomatoes and the right amount of cilantro. I had the fish tacos and they were beyond delicious! Husband has fish and chips which also was good. So glad we kept looking for this place and can concur that they have the best fish tacos on the island. read more

Heard about Bally Hoo restaurant on Isla Majeres. Fish tacos were ordered by all of us. Simple but oh so good. Try the tamarind sauce on the tacos- excellent flavor. Service was very good as well. read more

This was by far our best dinner out in Isla Mujeres. Alex our waiter was very informative and nice. The place is casual and right on the marina. The food was outstanding! We will definitely be going back the next time we are in the area read more

We came here for dinner. We enjoyed the patio. The service was a bit slow. The restrooms are located outside of the gas station - they give you a key to access them. My husband and I ordered the capitan plate and were very impressed! It comes with 2 glasses of wine, 2 beef filets, 2 lobsters, 6 shrimp, garlic butter dipping sauce, rice, and vegetables. They let us swap out the wine for a margarita, and I had to based off the reviews. We thought the margaritas were horrible. They tasted like bottled lime juice. The food was great though! The steaks were a bit on the tough side, but the shrimp and lobster was so good! The table next to us got the mariner plate and said the fish was really good. We'll definitely stop here next time we stay on the island. read more

Had the Lobsters. Tasted so fresh you can see the fish that were caught earlier. Everything is fresh. We had a Cucumber & mint Margarita and was very refreshing. The Lobster came w a butter garlic and was yummy. Sides were rice pilaf and veggies. Was able to see the sunset. read more

This palapa restaurant sits midway down a dock facing west just south of Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres. While we found the photos in the drink menu entertaining, the drinks themselves were fantastic. The setting provided a great view of the sunset alongside the docked boats. Our food experience was mixed. The steamed fish (grouper that day) was tasteless, as were the tomatoes, onions, and peppers steamed with it. The sides were steamed carrot, broccoli, and cauliflower, plus a rice that was the best thing on the plate. However, the Mexican-style fish dish (also grouper) came with the same tomatoes, peppers, and onions, but had a sweet chili tomato sauce that made the dish. The fish itself was cooked very well, even more tender than the steamed fish. Thus, the former dish was a 2, while the latter was a 5. The great atmosphere and drinks kept this rating at a 4. read more

We had a great lunch at this harbor side restaurant. I had a delicious chicken quesadilla and my wife enjoyed her cheeseburger. The "large" rum and cokes were HUGE. The waiters speak good English and everybody was friendly. Prices are very reasonable read more

This place was everything I thought it would be. Quintessential beach bar under a palpala. Good views, chill, and a lot of people seemed to flock here and that's always good to see. Best food of my vacation in Cancun was eaten here. The fish and shrimp tacos were the best I ever had. I couldn't get over the pricing either. Pretty sure it was only $4 for my plate,which felt like robbery. We ate quick to catch the ferry but seems like Such a fun place to hang out at during a trip to the island. Would've liked to see this place in action at night! read more
