Rusty's will always hold a special place in my heart when it comes to their specialty pizzas. I had a couple of friends come to visit and we ordered their El Diablo and pepperoni pizza and didn't regret it one bit. The El Diablo was packed with bell pepper, jalapeños, pepperoni, ham, chorizo, onion, and a bunch of other fixing that pack flavor in every bite. The pepperoni pizza was a classic, on thin crust, and paired perfect with their ranch. I would recommend getting pan crust so you feel more full and if you like a thicker crust but an overall amazing experience. read more

Mediocre pizza on a converter belt oven. Comes out kind of doughy, made better with a lot of toppings. Not too different from your mega national pizza chains on quality though at least it's a local chain. On the plus side they have a couple video games which are pretty great, and an old school salad bar that's kind of fun for nostalgia factor (warning: only one trip so plan your bowl strategically). read more

We always love to get Rusty's whenever we visit the SB area from Lompoc. This is one of our go-to Rusty's locations and today's work crew underscored why. We came in about 45 mins before closing on a Monday no less. I had entered our order via their web page and our pies were literally coming out of the oven as we walked in. The counter staff was very helpful and allowed us to add to our order, even though closing time was pending. I could see the restaurant appeared clean, especially the kitchen. There was a little wear & tear near the salad bar. The flooring between carpet and tile area, the border is damaged and should be addressed by management. The bathroom I used was clean & serviceable, although some goon had administered low intelligence graffiti to the bathroom stall door. So, the food: As usual, you cannot miss with Rusty's pizza pie. Their recipe and supplies are so tasty. Just a great pie for being a "chain" pizza joint. We added their breadsticks, which if you have not tried them, are dreamy-yummy-gooey-cheesy great! The "kids" (my adult daughters) love to dip the cheesy bread in ranch, but I love Rusty's pizza sauce. If you're ever in the Santa Barbara, Goleta area and want some pizza-pie, Rusty's is great pie, and all the locations we've visited over the years are consistently pleasant. read more

We stopped by Rusty's not knowing what to expect but were delighted. Got a small pan pizza and small thin crust pizza and both were yummy! I really enjoyed the thin crust. Wings were good as well 4/5. Would stop by again! Lots of seating on a Saturday around 6:00pm and there was a spacious parking lot. Also saw restrooms in the building but we did not use them. I had to get in my car and drive all the way back to Rusty's to exchange it for the item I actually ordered! 10 minutes to drive there 15 minutes to wait for the correct item and 10 minutes to drive home and I was offered nothing but "whoops she must've put the wrong information in." This multimillion dollar company needs to staff its restaurants with competent personnel! It's basic customer Service that when you screw up somebody's order and force them to have to come back, you make it right by refunding their money or giving them another item! Meanwhile, my family is at home eating hot pizza and I'm waiting for the correct order. I should've called them and had them deliver it to me for free. My fiance and I arrived to Rusty's about an hour before closing on a Friday night because it was the only thing open when we arrived in Santa Barbara near us and we did not want fast food. We were hoping to get wings from them but unfortunately they sold out (what we get for wanting wings at 11pm LOL). Anyways, we decided to share a meatball marinara sandwich which I was pretty excited about. Total for the sandwich came out to be about $9 which is okay but when I saw the sandwich come out I was a little bit disappointed. The bread was good and crispy but I wish they had put more meatballs and sauce in the sandwich. It was bad nor was it really good but it did do it's job of getting us full that night. We arrived around lunch time and looked at the menu, the lunch special seemed tempting but we were both very hungry. We ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple pizza and a large salad. We ended up eating the entire pizza (and salad) feeling very satisfied. The staff who took our order and spoke to us were very friendly. It wasn't too busy which was nice. Service was...odd. Seemed like the person training the other person needed to be trained. Then after we ordered not only did the next 3 orders and the same delivery guy went to his destination and back twice we finally got our basic pepperoni pizza 40 minutes later we left. Pizza was ok. Crust not good cheese was pretty good sauce was decent and I'm sorry but 2 pepperonis per slice on average is unacceptable. I won't be back. read more

When I lived up in Santa Barbara, Rusty's was always a go to. I would usually get their lunch special which was a personal pizza, salad and drink. It was always a great deal and always hit the spot. Fast forward 20 years, and this was the first time I had been back to Rusty's since I moved out of Santa Barbara. Still bomb, still delicious! We went to the Goleta location on Calle Real. We ate inside. The building is really cool! We went with a large pepperoni pizza and a lunch special (lunch special is valid every day, even weekends, which is awesome!). Total was around $35.00. The pizza was great. Rusty's is similar to Round Table style (for those in CA who haven't had Rusty's)...thin, crispy, unique. My wife and 2 kids (first time here) loved it! My wife built her salad at the salad bar and thoroughly enjoyed that, too! Kids were stoked they had arcade games and spent a couple bucks on quarters to play. Service was great! The cashier guy was very friendly and all smiles. We had a great lunch here and everyone had a great time. Will probably make this a normal stop whenever we come back up to Santa Barbara/Goleta. read more

Good pizza not too greasy or too doughy, order was ready quickly! We had a large party and ordered 3 pizzas and a salad to eat at our hotel pool . Liked the crispy crust and the pizza was hot and had plenty of toppings. I live in Orange County but the next time I am Goleta/Santa Barbara and need to order pizza, it will be from here. Then I picked up my $21 medium pepperoni pizza only to discover it also had black olives (which I hate) on it when I got home. I tried to call to get it handled and I had to fight through AI only to get to an obvious Filipino call center which put me on hold forever only to get picked up by an extremely unapologetic human named Bree who was user surly at best. Great tasting pizza, a bit pricey, but good pizza. You have to try the new habanero mango wings. Damn they are good and spicy. Interior looks like a cross between a museum and a classic train station. Really cool train related decor. From Santa Barbara it's only a few miles more. Worth the few minute drive away from the Santa Barbara big crowds, long waits and overpriced food. Highly recommend this pizza parlor. read more

Can't change their pricing but I have adjusted the delivery tip because of charges for extra dressing for salads. Have explained during ordering that their is never enough dressing for the size of the salad. This is incredibly arbitrary on their part that they've established an amount for salads..... everybody uses different amounts. Pretty small grievance but it's these small charges in life that go on and on. The containers of dressing must be about two ounces. They can't be going broke on that. Just ask the customer how much dressing they'd like for their $12 dinner salad. Obviously any amount of small containers over four would probably be too much but.....??? read more

First night of a mini-vaca in the Santa Barbara area and we were just too tired to go out for dinner. My SO, who grew up in the area, immediately said "Rusty's". Placed an order on the phone with no problems. They do have a manager call you back right away to confirm the order (I guess they get a lot of fake calls to deliver to hotels). We were quoted a delivery time of 35 minutes but the pizza actually showed up in around 20 minutes. And it was surprisingly good! Hot, fresh and really tasty with a blend of cheeses. I am a thin crust person and this pie had a tasty, crispy thin crust. Quite good! We also ordered a small side of garlic cheese bread... more garlic than cheese but still very tasty and buttery/greasy - which sometimes is a good thing. I've ordered lots of Rusty's for lots of different occasions. The pizza ingredients are really good quality, it gets delivered on time (and often even sooner than the original estimation which I appreciate), and it's rarely not what we ordered. The only reason its not 5 stars is its more expensive compared to some of the competition, but frankly you get what you pay for. In my opinion it's the best delivery pizza in Goleta. I typically order the Hawaiian but make my own little twist with jalapenos added. We also order gluten free pizza and it's always been good. The quality of the ingredients comes through and we'll continue to order from them when the pizza urge is tickled! read more

Rusty's is the pizza spot in SB or Goleta. Nothing else compares for it's consistent deliciousness. This location is just like the others - clean, large, with good service and a few video games for the kids. In the pre-Covid era it had a good salad bar as well. If you don't like Rusty's, I'm not sure what I can tell you other than I hope that life takes a happier turn for you.
