Rusty Pig is a gem in Rincon. The service is quick and friendly. The food is fantastic. I do work nearby so it is important to me that lunch is quick. I would highly recommend the sliced brisket platter with fried ocra. The fries and coleslaw are great also. My coworker and I have decided that Rusty Pig is the only lunch stop for us. read more

Politely asked for extra sauce. The girl at the register told me to get some from the table. I couldnt find what she was pointing at so she starts YELLING AT ME and gets super angry. Rather disappointing. Ordered the big boy burger. It was far from a "Big boy" burger $5.99. More like a kiddie burger. The paddy was the same size as a McDonalds burger. Flavor was ok. First time and it will be the last time. Ribs had no flavor except for the poor excuse of a rub. They were very tough you needed a steak knife to remove the meat from the bone, but there were only plastic knives available. The pulled pork was tender but lacked any smoke flavor. Not the best BBQ I have ever had but it is not the worst either. Pulled pork sandwich can be inconsistent in size and sometimes is really greasy. Other times they pull it off and it comes out in generous portion and not at all greasy. BBQ Chicken is one of the better meals on the menu. Smoked and not to dried out. Sauces include a sweet tomato base, mustard base and a spicy bbq sauce. The sweet tea is urn brewed which is the only way to do southern sweet tea right. The staff really makes this place work. They are mostly young people, high school and college age but they are extremely friendly and very courteous. The atmosphere is nice and clean and cozy. read more

Was stopped at the Georgia welcome center and trying to figure out what to do for lunch when the Rusty Pig showed up in my Yelp search. Being a barbecue afficionado, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to "flavor" our trip to Florida with some ribs. I had the rib plate with Fried Okra on the side, my fiancé had pulled pork with fries, and we split an order of fried pickles. Everything was excellent. We were also really impressed by all the different varieties of tea available at the drink station. This is the kind of place that makes me wish I lived in the South, where good barbecue is more plentiful. If I was spending any time in town, I'd definitely have gone back, and I highly recommend the Rusty Pig as a great diversion from the interstate and typical fast food you find off an interstate exit. read more

I've eaten here many times in the last five years and always get the rib plate. These ribs are as good as I can make at home, and that's saying something (it ain't bragging if it's true!). I've had their various side items as well and the ONLY thing I won't order again is the potato salad. It's is t bad, just doesn't suit my taste and is not even the same league as my wife's! I need to try the brisket and chicken, but every time I go there, I just end up ordering the ribs!They are thick, juicy and not over smoked. Delicious. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. My family loves going to Rusty Pig -- we usually get BBQ sandwiches with coleslaw and Brunswick stew, and the kids go for chicken fingers and fries. We have been in the middle of the week at odd times and we've been on a Sunday during the after-church lunch rush. Never disappointed with service or with the food. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 3ish so there were not many patrons. After suggestions from the cashier we all ordered chopped BBQ plates with various sides that she suggested. The BBQ itself was good, I've have smoked pork many places and while this had a good flavor and was moist there wasn't a strong smoke flavor. The mashed potatoes were very good along with the Brunswick stew which I highly suggest. The green beans were nothing to write home about and tasted very "from the can" I would suggest the baked beans which had good flavor. Finally the cole slaw was Also just bland. Rusty's is pretty much my favorite BBQ around. Always good, always clean, and the girls are always great. Rusty's does their own pork skins, and they're pretty good. Not great, but pretty darn good. When I first started going there a few years back, the skins were $1.99. Fair enough. Still a fairly high profit item, but not a bad deal. A short time later they went to $2.99. Ouch, but ok. Everything's going up, why not pork skins. Just called in a to go order and was quoted a good bit higher price than usual. Higher enough that I almost said never mind, but I was hankerin for some Rusty's. Figured the price of BBQ had gone up. Went to pick up my order, and the pork skins had gone from $2.99 to $4.99. While the food served is still good quality, the portion size at this restaurant has definitely gotten smaller over the years. The atmosphere seems to have changed a bit, too. The music and decor used to be openly Christian (to me, a good thing). Now, most of the Bible verses and such are gone, and country music plays on the TV. I cannot say these are changes for the better, but I can still hope they will come back to where they used to be. read more

Just left there. I wasn't impressed with the meat except I will give them credit that it wasn't dried out. Otherwise, it has no flavor profile at all. The sauces were so so. When I go in for a sit down meal I would at least like someone to offer to refill my tea. In my opinion, the seating should be ripped out and they should just have a take out counter if they aren't going to provide some kind of service at the tables. I usually hate southern styled restaurants like this. Especially BBQ ones. However, thus restaurant has completely changed my view. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Only takes a few minutes for the food to be ready and they deliver it to you right at your table. And you can't leave the place without eating the sad cake! This place definitely deserves more stars than it has. Places like this and chick fil a in Rincon have crappy reviews compared to disgusting restaurants like Ms. Jeans or should I say Ms. School cafeteria. Ridiculous. Also not to mention this place is never crowded over the several times I have been here in the last 4 years. This place deserves more recognition. read more

I like the brisket. The only complaint I have is that the food is to cold. It never comes out hot.

Of all the barbecue places in the Western Savannah metro area this is the place to come. The pulled pork and ribs are good but when you come here you got to get the chicken. It's cooked to perfection with a nice smoke ring underneath the skin. They offered two sauces which are very good that are mustard-based. We've only been here for about six months but haven't found a barbecue place I can beat it. read more

Ordered small beef brisket with side of okra. Came out of kitchen pretty quickly. Meat is cold -okra is hot. Sauce is on the table- 2 flavors to choose from. Neither very flavorful over cold meat. One piece of white bread laying on top. One side has that rough texture that means it has been sitting out and is stale. read more
