So I walked in with a warm welcome the menu looks amazing I ordered the special which is a chopped pork sandwich choice of side and a drink. While the service had always been friendly and prompt. The food has turned hit or miss. I once again tried the 1/2 lb. Brisket plateand once again was disappointed. They still haven't learned to separate the tip from the flat when slicing it so you get long stringy pieces of meat. There fat to meat ratio it ridiculous. Food and service is always great. I have to drive across the county line to get there and it's definitely worth the trip. I can tell that the front end crew has been taught how to handle customers when they approach the counter. It appears to always be about me when I show up. They're very attentive to me and my order. This place does a very good job. Ingredients are fresh and a very brisk takeout business is evident. There's a drive-through window in the parking lot with ample space for customers. The sliced brisket was as always excellent. Mac n cheese very good. However the okra I got was totally awful. It was burnt n I was unable to eat it. I've the okra before n it was delicious. I'm hoping that if I get it again it won't be burnt n inedible. read more

We wanted to eat a lite lunch but as you can see they give you a delightful amount of ribs which were so tender and juicy. They had multiple choices of signature sauce to choose from for your meal. Now what I did like I was the potato bread which it was fresh and soft where you could have ate it all by itself! The inside gave you a Country feeling. Now they have a container with different types of desserts to choose from after a great meal as my family enjoyed. The young ladies were very helpful being it was our first time visiting the restaurant. If you had anything left they had to go plates set up with a bag for you to be able to have a late night snack. It was located right next to a Popeyes Chicken also across the street was a Dunkin Donut. If you really want some good barbecue try Rusty's you won't be disappointed. Absolutely fantastic! No sauce required with tremendous flavor and pull ability on the ribs. Some of the best barbecue I've ever had.

Stopped in for dinner. Had sliced brisket and pork ribs. For the side I had green beans and potatoes. The brisket had a very nice bark and great smoke flavor. However, it was a little overdone. The ribs had a very nice dry rub with a bit of bite. I liked it a lot. The ribs were cooked perfectly. Good smoke ring. Good clean bites and the meat not falling off the bone. I usually don't use sauce except NC vinegar based sauce on fulled or chopped pork. But I tried their tomato based sauce on both the beef and ribs. It has a strong mustard kick to it and no vinegar flavor. It wasn't bad, but like I said, I don't usually use sauce on my meat. If it needs sauce, it wasn't cooked right. The green beans and potatoes were well done with a great Smokey flavor. The iced tea is brewed, not mixed from powder. Quite good. Overall good food, good service, friendly staff, very reasonably priced. read more

I got the pulled chicken sandwich and potato salad. The potato salad was very good in my opinion very musterdy with lots of eggs. The chicken sandwich was good, but could have used a little bit more meat. The homemade honey and tomato barbecue sauce was awesome. We are from Arizona but decided to eat some bbq in Georgia. We had high hopes and was excited to go. When we got there.it was fairly busy. Place looked nice enough. Cashier very friendly. Ordered 2 orders of brisket with 2 sides. A hamburger and chicken fingers. We weren't sure why but the fountain drinks didn't seem like they tasted right. Not a huge deal. Sweet tea was good but just a but too sweet for my taste. After paying and waiting for about 10 minutes we were walked up to told they were out of brisket. Very disappointed. That what we really wanted. They offered up chicken and s steak sandwich as a substitute. Not even close to the same. The chick was just OK. They had four bbq sauces. One with Jalapeños and one with habanero. . Being from Arizona we like extra hot. They tasted very mild to us. One sauce I liked but didn't love. Two were ok and one just didn't like. My steak tasted good but not much meat compared to the brisket I was supposed to get. The chicken fingers ok and the hamburger ok. Sides: Baked beans were great, red skinned mashed potatoes just ok, onion rings ok, fries good. Overall disappointed but an Ok tasting. read more

The meat was good but this review is going to be about service - the meat has always been good every time I've come. The myriad of sweet teas are very sweet! My wife is on a restrictive diet and the staff was genuinely nice, patient, and supportive. They checked ingredients twice and the cook came out and triple checked with us. Nobody was rude or put out. I was surprised they took it in stride, well done. read more

The best BBQ place in Effingham county and Pooler! Place your order at the counter and they deliver it to you within a few minutes. Self-service for drinks. The meats are always tasty and moist - no one likes dry meat. Sides include fries, brunswick stew, green beans, potato salad and salad. The best thing we've found are their smoked wings. These are jumbo wings and super tasty! Try the $6.99 special - large pork sandwich, one side and a drink. Probably the best deal in town. Their "competition" in town charges $10 for a small, bland sandwich and one side. The staff are very friendly, manager Rachel is awesome, the place is always clean. Rusty Pig is a winner! read more

Ordered the beef brisket sliced plate with mac/cheese and baked beans along with Brunswick stew, all very good as well as a brisket sandwich chopped with potato salad both very good, The staff was extremely friendly, quick, and professional. This place was pretty good. The decor is rustic and fitting. The ladies at the counter were friendly. We ordered for pickup.....the jalapeño poppers were fantastic (see picture). This place was awesome! It's right near where my brother lives outside of Savannah. We went for a quick dinner before going on a ghost tour and I wasn't disappointed! The food was excellent! We got the fried pickles as an appetizer and while they were a little salty they were still great! I got the pulled pork sandwich and my mom got a burger! We both enjoyed our meals! Everything was almost perfect at this barbecue location. The only thing I noted on my visit was the pork was a bit dry. This could very well have been the time of day of my visit and the fact it was dry outside. The rest of the meats sampled were perfect. Price is very reasonable too. New to the area and tried it at 6:30 on Saturday night. You have to go to the counter and order and get your own drink. In the mood for wings since one of the reviews mentioned them being so go. We will never know since I was told "you can't have that". Seems no wings, bone in or boneless. Ordered fried mushrooms, out of those, onion petals out of those. Ended up just going with a burger. Husband ordered brisket sandwich and Brunswick stew. Finally found fried pickles in stock. Sorry they were. Covered in grease. Not cooked at the right temperature. Brunswick stew cold to the touch. Had to stand in line holding it to ask for warm stew. Then got back to the table husband said brisket sandwich cold too. Basically obvious that they fixed his dinner that sat while they cooked the two burgers. Needless to say not coming back.
