My first time visiting Russo's, and I'm not impressed. The store has everything, but what it needs is a good cleaning. I ordered a Carroll St sandwich, and I took it to go. The sandwich was large, but not very tasty. My bill was $16.21. Is everybody in Park Slope rich?

Been meaning to check out one of the Russo's locations for a while, and the 7th Ave location won the race. Got the Italian/Cappo sandwich that's been raved about in the reviews. It's a LOT of sandwich. But does quantity equal quality? Yes, and no. Bread was a bit stale, but I do love sesame seeds. Maybe don't order right at the cutoff for the day. But the meats were good - sopressata, mortadella, and salami. Roasted red peppers for some texture and moisture. And topped with provolone (though in hindsight, maybe I should've ordered a sandwich with mozzarella from a place that has "Mozzarella" right in its name. Anyway, willing to give them another chance, maybe at their 5th ave location.

Old school Italian Market & Deli. Felt like I was stepping back in time. Very cool vibe!! I had a muffuletta sandwich and roasted vegetables. WOW! Both were Great!!! The guy behind the counter was funny and every bit the character you would expect in a place like this. Worked fast and everything was just right

This little Italian market has some great options, especially in terms of pastas, sauces and the salad bar. We decided to pick up some items for a picnic nearby in Prospect Park. We tried some olives, the stuffed peppers and a few different antipasti (cheeses, meats, artichokes, gigante beans, etc.). We also got two Italian sandwiches. I preferred the salads and finger foods to the sandwiches. My sandwich (broccoli rabe, mozzarella and sundried tomato) was too dry without oil and vinegar. In addition, the rabe overpowered everything else. When I ate the mozzarella by itself I could taste how fresh it was, though. My boyfriend had the smoked turkey, smoked mozzarella and hot pepper sandwich. Again, really good flavors but it needed oil and vinegar!

I haven't tried them all, obviously -- too many coffee shops -- but what I have tried, and come back to, over and over, is the products of the amazing team at Posto. It's not just about the skillfully made drinks or the balance of flavors, the fresh, Italian-style coffee or the filled-to-order Italian donuts and Maritozzos (iykyk) -- it's the overall ambience. You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) Outside, the peaceful garden hosts two large umbrellas. It's vibrant, as if you're in a neighbor's backyard and they are willing to share a colorful moment with you, birds chirping overhead. As I finished the last drop of my cappuccino this morning, I realized that forty-five minutes had passed, and every sip of coffee was just as good as the last. Thank you!

For my entrée, I had the grilled pork chops, which were cooked perfectly. The pistachio gremolata added a unique burst of flavor that really elevated the dish. My friends ordered a variety of pasta dishes, which I tried and tasted good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ended with dessert and tried both the traditional tiramisu, which was very good, and the budino--a butterscotch pudding with pistachio gelato--which completely stole the show.
