Took the Greenworks high pressure washer in for repair. Called them earlier and was told owner is…read morein and will be able to look at it and tells us what needs to be done. Not the case. Then told that the person on second shift will take a look at it. So called the next day. Told it was being looked at. Called in the afternoon as it was looked at by a tech in the morning.....then told it was the wrong tech and it needed to be an electrical tech that looked at it, which was what I was told when dropping the unit off. Was also told a week....now it is 1.5 weeks. Let's see how this goes...just poor communication by the reception desk or something else like the other bad reviews. Unfortunately I have a $45 deposit. That should have been my sign. Next update will be my next interaction....just hoping it is better. 1 week gone by - When I dropped it off it was a week. Then it was 1.5 weeks. Today.....no one has looked at it, and it will be at least two weeks. It feels like a hostage situation. Can't even get a word in other than what they want to tell you. I am going to pick up the system and take it elsewhere. Wonder what nightmare awaits me at pick up. The next call is to Greenworks. After all Greenworks list this place as an Authorized Workshop. I called Greg's about repairing a broken front-wheel drive cable on a Toro Recycler. I was told over the phone it could be repaired and that it was a simple fix. When I got the mower back nearly three weeks later, I was hit with a bill for $310 and change, more than half the cost of a new mower, same make and model. The bill included several miscellaneous charges that I never authorized. Nor was I ever contacted about whether I wanted those additional services performed. The additional charges: oil change, new spark plug, air filter, blade sharpening, and new wheels. When I take my car into be serviced for one problem and the mechanic finds an additional problem, I am contacted and asked whether I want the additional work performed, and I get a cost estimate. No assumptions are made about what I am willing to pay for. In this case, if I had known the total cost of the repairs to be done, I would've declined having them done and looked into a new mower. Granted, Greg's did reduce the bill by $50 after I expressed my displeasure with their lack of professionalism, but the repair costs are still slightly more than half the price of a new mower. When using Greg's be sure to get a cost estimate up front and spell out the work to be done.

When we get there they want $110 an hour for service, won't quote a price and won't look at if for less than $500. All of which might have been acceptable if they had said that over the phone to start with. As it is I figure I was the victom of the old "Bait and switch". Next step will be to tell me this one is not worth fixing and I need to spend $12,000 on a new one. I don't think so.
