Had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. I was worried there was no sauce on the BBQ at first, but found it when I bit into it. It was delicious. Then I added the cole slaw on the sandwich and I just wanted to eat it for the rest of the week. It was so good. The fries were perfect and not soggy or overly greasy. BF had a chicken sandwich which seemed to be like something from Chicfila. Because other reviewers raved about the milkshakes, I asked for a chocolate cherry milkshake, which is a combination of 2 of their offered flavors. I was glad they were able to do a combo shake with no issue. It was DELICIOUS. It was the perfect thickness so you could easily suck it through a straw (unlike Cookout shakes if you know of these). We go through this area often on trips, so I'd definitely stop by again. read more

I would give a lower review if I could. I paid $9 for a cheeseburger basket. They put just cheese and a patty between the two crappy buns that were falling apart. It was so sloppy I couldn't eat it. The fries were unsalted and tasted very old, they were cold. They tasted like they were taken out to thaw right before I got there. I ordered water and sprite and they somehow messed that up too. They also add literally five different types of taxes to really scam you. This place is trash. I've eaten here at several locations and could not be more disappointed. read more

I went to rushes in Camden just now and they where just rude and to busy playing to even pay attention to anything I asked for. I didn't get my drink and when I asked for honey mustard the girl just walked away and ignored me. I even asked for honey mustard at the drive threw and still did get it. read more

I came to rush's on a late night while in town. I ordered a cheeseburger basket. The wait for the food was really long...over ten minutes. I grew up in Columbia so I knew to be prepared for a long wait. Rush's is notorious for being slow but the food was good so I kept returning. I get my meal and realize they stop putting salt on fries here apparently. I don't usually get ketchup because a little salt on fries is my preference. If you come here ask for ketchup or salt because it's hard to eat the fries devoid of flavor. My burger was juicy and the bun moist just as good as it was in my teen years. Thanks for being consistent with the burger and maintaining the location well. Please find some salt, this is SC after all...people want salt on their fries here and if they don't they will tell you. read more

I went here for a quick bite after running some errands at Lowe's. I am not from around here, so I did not know what to expect. Inside, the restaurant was very dated, but spotlessly clean. The person who took my order was very nice. I got a cheeseburger, fries, slaw, and an unsweet tea. Burger was large and very good. The place in general reminded me of Dan's Hamburgers in Austin, Texas--old school mom & pop fast food done right. Burger made up fresh, but I didn't have to wait long. Veggies were crisp and tasty, cheese melted, and beef was decent for a fast food place and price point. Fries were crispy. Slaw was very finely chopped and sweet, which is not really my thing, but it tasted pretty good with the fries. Tea was tea. My wife got an oreo milkshake, which tasted fine but was a little on the thin side. I will definitely come back here, I think my kids would love it. read more

We went here based on the mostly positive reviews to get a break from McDonald's. I really don't like giving negative reviews but it was terrible. The burgers tasted like frozen burgers you would get in a cafeteria. We could not even finish them. The fries were eh. The staff was friendly and quick to get our order. I would not recommend it. Sick as a dog from eating a chili-cheese burger basket with extra crispy fries. I was on my way out of town and needed something quick to eat and was starving. WHAT A MISTAKE IT WAS TO STOP BY RUSH'S! The burger was barely warm, the bun was cold and I guess the only reason the fries were hot was that they had to cook them again to make them extra crispy (because ever other time I have ever ordered fires there they were extra limp and soggy. I ate the burger even though it was barely warm (BIG MISTAKE) and within an hour I was sick as a dog - burping up nasty tasting burger, chili and slaw tastes in my mouth - 4 hours later I finally regurgitated after eating about 5 extra strength Tums and feeling like i was gonna die. I had never been here before and was just passing through Columbia for one night, but I was amused that it was called Rush's on account of how long it took to get my order. However, I know that happens sometimes and it sounds from other reviews like that is not the norm. The food was delicious. I had a 2-piece chicken dinner. The chicken was hot and delicious even when I got back to my hotel (I had a to-go order) and the fries were very good as well. I wish the to-go orders had some sort of lid or box-- the tray was just placed inside a paper bag, which got very greasy. The staff members were very pleasant and polite and the prices were very reasonable. read more

This was my first visit to Rush's. As the name suggests the ordering and delivery process took all of 3-4 minutes. The counter person was pleasant. I ordered a plate with the chili cheese burger, fries, slaw and iced tea. The food arrived warm, as ordered and of reasonable proportions. The price was average for this type of restaurant. I found a seat and observed the area. I had noted the food prep area appeared to be clean and well organized and the dining room seemed likewise. My burger was properly cooked and generally tasty as were the fries. The tea and slaw left something to be desired. I'm not even sure how to describe the taste of the slaw other than to say I have never tasted anything like it and hope never to again. The tea was flavorless and had only a hint of sweetness. When compared to Pals or The Beacon, Rush's just doesn't stand a chance. Pals quality and taste are unmatched. For atmosphere, quantity and flavor nothing comes close to The Beacon. read more
