Very friendly staff. Helpful in making decisions and options. I would have got the big dave size but $30 for 16" sandwich was a bit rich for my pocket. Regular was $16 and added 3 cheese for 1.50. Crib chips option with meal option is the way to go if you like crispy chips. The dip goes well with them too. The cheese steak was very good. Glad i got the added cheese. Be ready with napkins because it's messy but worth it. Banana pudding was decent but I'm picky and like chunks of banana in mine. Nilla wafers on top should be added just before serving in my opinion because they are soft from being in there in cooler ready to go. I get it for efficiency sake of running restaurant but would prefer them to be crispy and fresh on top. Overall very much recommend. read more

Was visiting U of SC and decided to try this place. I mean, it was only right since Philly is my hometown. The establishment was small, yet clean. Street parking is out front but metered during certain days. The cashier Key was very sweet and helpful. I ordered a salmon egg roll, beef cheesesteak, and the banana pudding Key confirmed she made herself. The egg roll was good but a bit small for the price. The cheesesteak was mid. Nothing special unfortunately. The banana pudding had a great taste but was extremely watery. Like it was in soup form. read more

Big Dave's never disappoints. I got the Big Dave's cheesesteak (18 inch) and added mayo, tomatoes, and lettuce, and baby... it was SO good. Super flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and packed with meat. The bread was soft, the flavors were on point, and every bite hit. The portion size alone is worth it -- definitely enough to share (or not ). Everything tasted fresh and made with care. If you're looking for a solid cheesesteak that actually delivers on flavor, this is the spot. 10/10, will absolutely be back. read more

Big Dave’s - BIG DAVE BEEF 18 INCH - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

Service was prompt and courteous. We had never eaten here but had extremely high expectations based on reviews. My wife and l both agreed that the subs were good but no better. They certainly were not worth the Money spent. Two subs for $35 @ lunch just seems a bit much. Lesson learned that l should have investigated prices ahead of time. read more

Big Dave’s - CLASSIC BEEF DW 9 INCH - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

I tried the classic "Daves Way" philly and it was just as amazing as the pictures. Next time I will add hot peppers. The bread was nice and soft. Definitely a hefty meal. I have half the sub leftover for lunch tomorrow. I also tried the onion rings, they are larfe, fresh, crispy and the breading is well seasoned. The eggroll was delicious but small for $6. I don't think I'll order that again. But I will DEFINITELY be back for the philly cheesesteak! read more

Big Dave’s - BUFFALO CHICKEN EGG ROLL (1)ooh so good! - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

Gave big Daves a try and everything was fairly decent. The onion rings were a 10 out of 10, the cheesesteak Id give a six out of 10 and get it plain the next time. The egg rolls could be larger for the price. Overall I'd go back and give it another try!@BigDavesCheesesteaksSC read more

Columbia has a new cheesesteak champion. The title has been clearly won and for the near future I am sure it will be retained. Many thanks for Big Dave's being open. On this night in Columbia we had just landed, and places start to close early here. At the airport as we were leaving the attendant at the rental car place mentioned that a cheese steak spot was a good place to go at this time due to limited options. We got to the place about an hour before closing. I admit I had that "really" look when he said this place served up a good cheesesteak. Looking at the menu I went with Classic Dave's Way Beef Cheesesteak. Some say blasphemy but I do like mushrooms on my cheesesteak. This one came with onions, sweet peppers, banana peppers, mushrooms, and three cheeses. Yes, one of the three cheese option on the it is Whiz. They come in a few sizes starting at 6 inch, 9 inch and 18 inches. Flavorful is all I can say. The food is cooked right there when you order and none of that sitting on a warmer and thrown back on the grill stuff. The type of bread use can make a difference but it should not be the star of the show. The steak was plentiful and just the right amount. Not enough so it is bursting out and overflowing, making your hoagie a mess that falls apart picking it up. Still it was not a miniscule amount where you say yeah this going to get a bad Yelp review along with a one and done. No beef with what they are serving up here. See what I did there. If you looking for a steak sandwich or a steak and cheese do not come to this place. If you looking for a cheesesteak then look no further. read more

Absolutely delicious! You've got to check this spot out. The customer service is top-notch...friendly, fast, and welcoming. The space is clean, efficient, and perfect whether you're grabbing food to go or dining in quickly. It's a smaller location and definitely a hidden gem that's gaining popularity, so I recommend getting there early to beat the rush! read more

A Cheesesteak worth trying. If you're a fan of cheesesteaks then this is your next stop. BD features all the cheesesteak options, they have steak, chicken and even salmon options. Cheese wise they have wiz, white American, and provolone. Side wise they've got fries, eggrolls, and some tasty looking banana pudding. Price wise BD is respectable and when it comes to price per value this is a home run. Easily one of the best Cheesesteaks I've ever had. I will be back to Big Dave's next time I'm in the mood for a cheesesteak. read more

This location is locally owned and operated! We checked them out for lunch one day and were not disappointed. We ordered the original Dave's way, salmon egg roll, buffalo chicken egg roll, and strawberry lemonade. Service was friendly and food was prepared to order and came out quickly. This is a bit more expensive than other options in the area, but they are using fresh, Halal ingredients and you can taste the difference in the product. read more

It been many years since I've been to Philly, but the Big Dave's Way Cheesesteak was as good, if not better, than anything I remember getting at Pat's or Geno's. Stuffed with steak with excellent proportions of onions, peppers, and cheese. And to top it off, the fries were nicely seasoned with Ild Bay or something similar. Most people while I was there took it to go, but I enjoyed the piping hot food at their spacious counter space. 10/10! read more

I will say this, I have eaten an original Philly cheesesteak from Philly so I know what I'm talking about . Dave's Cheesesteak's are spot on . The meat is tender and seasoned well . The service , I must say for the amount of people being served is very efficient. Thank you for bringing a business of this caliber to the midlands . read more

The Big Dave, Dave's way, with the sauce and fries never disappoints. The food is always hot and service is amazing. I've only had one issue where my bread wasn't as soft as I'd like and the next time I visited, they threw in free egg rolls to make up for it. The space is small but it's still possible to eat inside. We usually get it to go and eat in the car. read more

Really great Cheesesteak! I enjoyed the employees and the wirjed hard to get it right?

I visited Big Dave's Cheesesteaks at 924 1/2 Harden St, Columbia, SC 29205 on 04/17/2026 at approximately 8:21 PM, and the customer service I received was unacceptable. The cashier, identified on my receipt as "KY S" (black and gray hair), was rude and inattentive while taking my order. As I was clearly reading my order, she was not paying attention and made me repeat myself, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. When I asked a simple question about making my order a combo, her attitude remained rude and unhelpful. What made the situation worse is that other customers in the restaurant were also complaining about her attitude at the same time, which suggests this is not an isolated issue. Due to the poor treatment, I chose not to complete my full order and left the establishment. As someone who works hard and spends their money expecting basic respect and professionalism, this experience was very disappointing. Management needs to address this issue immediately, as this level of customer service reflects poorly on the business and will drive customers away. read more

Shoutout Jordan .. for the great customer service today.. the food was delicious as always --

Very expensive for what you get. Ordered 9 inch classic with mayo and lettuce and they cooked the lettuce with the meat. Tasted average at best. Service was really good. read more

Let me start by saying they're newly opened. We had the classic cheesesteak but with different toppings. The bread was soft and fresh and the meat itself was seasoned. The seasoned fries were flavorful but they were lukewarm even though we ordered at the counter. The time it took to order and then the wait was a little long so on a Saturday you would have to be very patient. Again the place recently opened so there is room for improvement in the decor and service. Overall the sandwich was pretty good and tasty. read more

At the register and clearly the menu says $3.15 for a lemonade and I was charged $4.15 for them I purchased 4 of them. I made mention of it and the lady said usually the menu board updates itself. Then she charged me the 4.15. I really think the price should have been adjusted clearly we are looking at the same screen. read more

I visited Big Dave's on 05/02/26 at approximately 7:50 pm. I placed an order and it rang up $3.00 more than the price on the menu screen. The manager by the name Rayne said the price on the menu was wrong and she could not change it. After bringing the false advertisement to her attention multiple times, she still refuse to honor the menu price. Big Dave's missed a sell up to $40.00 because I refuse to patronize the business. I went to another establishment and was satisfied. read more

I went there when they first opened up and they were really good. The cheesesteaks are huge. when they first opened they were busy so I will not judge them on their service because it was chaotic in a good way. However I just went back recently and the service was very mid. The cashier was listening to me but half listening he was too busy concentrating on what his co workers were talking about. The taste of the food didn't change so I will still give the rating 5 star. The young man in the front was young and I was young once so i get it have fun just please minimize the cursing. will return for sure. read more

Not only was the food AMAZING! Kayla G. provided phenomenal service. This was our first time but definitely not our last.

Food was excellent! It's sort of a hole in the wall but they were quick with getting orders done and out the door.

Ok. I got the cheesesteak and it was okay. It's a small spot so I felt like I was sitting on top of people when I was there. I'm from Philly so it was just okay. The meat could have been seasoned more. Not like home! read more

I've been to this establishment multiple and the customer service isn't great. The managers needs to be better managers to employees. There's one particular young lady that I come see weekly to check up on her. The male manager that has dreads treats her poorly. My husband I needs to be the one to put it out there because she's so quiet. This young lady asked if she can step outside to take a phone call regarding her daughter. He told her it was fine. My husband was outside and overheard the conversation. As I'm waiting for our food the male manager talks about her like a dog. My husband outside and she's in tears. He walked up to make sure she's okay. She just explained that her daughter has seziures real bad and they were trying to release her from the hospital due to insurance issues. You never know what your employees got going on. Every time I come it's the same manager treating her poorly. My husband asked her name and she said Kiara. Even after her phone she walked in with a smile and still did her job. Yesterday I came in and she was the topic again. Please treat your other managers how to treat people it's sick. My husband and I come weekly and check on her to see if there's anything we can do to help her in any kid of way. Whether it's a conversatio, helping her find the resources she needs for her child. She's the best manager you guys have and you don't want to lose her because your other managers are bullies. Please check the situation out. I will be reach out to corporate as well. This issue will not be overlooked. read more

Was excited to try this place out. We actually drove 45 minutes just to go there. It was just ok, not bad, but nothing to write home about either. Prices were very high for what you got. I ordered a classic and it was much smaller than expected (not like what you get in philly). The place itself is very small. They do have a few tables, however. It was also very loud. There were maybe 3-4 people just hanging out there. Seemed like they may have been friends with some of the workers. Either way, not cool. Will I go back? Nope read more

I moved to Columbia 7 years ago and haven't been able to find a good cheesesteak that taste like home. I think I've been here at least 4 or 5 times since they opened.
